Age of Dragons

Mya wiped a tear away from her eye. I can't believe it. Half of the population died from the attack. The other half are either injured or ran away. Everyone I knew, gone like that. She started to cry.

 

John sighed and said, "We don't do anything." He looked at Sora and Vento remorsefully. "All we can do is wait until she wakes up."

 

Sora nodded sadly. "If only i hadn't woked her up--" Sora bowed down in ashamement.

 

Mark stood there akwardly for a moment, then walked over and put his arm on her shoulder, "it's alright, we will find who did this," he said, a hard edge to his voice.

Hwaje looked around, then he sniffed the air and growled, black dragon did this, black dragon did this! he said to all.

 

She looked at Hwaje. Black dragon? That's not possible. All dark dragons died off during the last war. It can't- Shia then sniffed as well. Hwaje's right. It's a dark dragon. Mya stared at Shia and sighed.

 

Mark shook his head, "something Hwaje taught me, there are always at least two, one master, and one or more apprintices, it also probably doesn't help that dark dragon females can have children without males," he said.

Hwaje growled again, this black one had a rider, he said.

 

She held her head. Please, all of this talking makes my head hurt. Can't we continue this tomorrow?

 

A short amount of time passed as Kaden studied several maps, then checked on the armor. "Alright Rain, it's cooled. Ordinarily I'd tell your right now what our job is, but according to Ravage, there's people we need to meet still on this island. Part of the job, but it's necessary to take care of it now," she said to him.
Kaden was looking in the direction of the smoke, which was still rising, though the fire had died. "Damn kids won't know what hit them...but this should make the hunt more interesting," she thought.

 

"Very well", Rain replied as he put his armour back on and reattached the shield to his back. "Lead the way", he said as he went over to his dragon again and waited for the order to return to dragon back.

 

Mark nodded, "fine by me, but Hwaje and I are going to go scout the island where the fire started," he said, as Hwaje leaned down so Mark could climb up, "I noticed some dragons landing over there before the fire, and I want to make sure that they and their riders are ok," he said.

 

Mya nodded. And After you're done, were do you want us to meet at?

 

"We will have to do this on foot, I'm afraid. Our dragons give us an advantage, but they create quite a bit of noise when they move on land, plus it will give us the element of surprise," Kaden said to Rain. She went over to Ravage and picked up her weapons, putting on the wrist claws and checking the sharpness of her halberd.
"Ravage, stay here and wait for my signal. Do not come to us unless I call you, and do not attack Rain's dragon. If people find you, try to scare them off, but do not use lethal force unless necessary, understand?" she said to the dragon. He nodded, and Kaden turned back to Rain. "Whenever you're ready, follow me," she said, and walked towards the place where she last saw the two dragon riders.

 

Mark looked to her as Hwaje began to flap his wings, "you got a place?" he yelled over the roar of the wind.
Hwaje looked towards the island, we need to go now, he thought to Mark and Mya.

 

She yelled over the sound of the wind. The most western part of the island. Look for the house that has a shed next to it and with the sight that says "Mya." She grabbed her dragon. Meet you there.

 

Mark yelled a "thanks" over the wind, before Hwaje took off, and flew over the charred forest to where the fire had origonated, he spotted what was left of a burned cabin. Hwaje dove towards it, dragons down there! he yelled in Mark's head.

 

Rain checked his equipment was still in place as he commanded his dragon in another language moments before it shot off into the sky like a bolt of lightning in reverse. He then followed after Kaden, passing her dragon, Ravage on the way.

 

Mya headed for her house when she found 2 guys in front of it. She hid around a corner and whispered to Shia. Give them a shock. Shia then fired a bright light blinding the guys and Mya ran up to them stabbing them. She tied Shia in the shed.

 

Kaden kept moving, quickly but quietly, to the burned-out cabin. Across the smoldering remains, she saw two dragons. Turning to Rain, she said, "There. Those dragons' owners are who we're looking for. Our employer wants them to be...dealt with, but I think it's more refined to make the chase more interesting. We'll approach them directly, confront them, then...go from there," she said, and she walked through the remains of the building, knowing the dragons and their riders could see her clearly.

 

Rain followed Kaden silently. The only sound was the occasional shifting of his armour plates and chain mail. He had his left hand on his sword incase he needed to draw it quickly. If the riders where the targets they would surely attack, possibly with their dragons. Rain was a very fast and agile fighter but he made sure his defence never failed him first.

 

Hwaje landed rappidly, right in front of Kaden and Rain, Mark jumped off, his twin short swords gripped in his hands. Hwaje sniffed the air, then pointed with his nose to Kaden, Black Rider! he shouted with telepathy.
Mark pointed one of his swords at Kaden and Rain, "who are you?" he asked.
