alex stepped closer to akuto and looked around for the assailant. she didn't see anyone with a bow, but knew they couldn't be too far away.
"what's going on?"

krios rubbed the tip of his tail against olivia's side. she looked up at him angrily, but the anger soon faded to endearment. there was no way she could stay mad at him. she had been with krios for as long as she could remember and knew he was only trying to look out for her. olivia walked over to him and girled up along side him. he used his tail to shape a bed for her to lie on so she didn't have to lie on the ground.
"we'll go back tomorrow, maybe all those people and their dragons will be gone by then."

 

john sat there filling out paperwork. he wasn't sure what xane was about to do, but it couldn't be good. as much as he didn't want to be apart of it, he didn't really have much choice. that was his duty as a member of the fire nation and a commander in the army. he was on the front line leading the battles. if he didn't, his relationship with xane would not be a pleasant one.
rha sat outside the window bored and blowing steam out his nostrils. he wanted to go flying, but knew it wouldn't be a good decision right now.

BIC: About 20 guards stepped out of the rubble, wearing brown uniforms that symbolized Earth soldiers. One high ranking one stepped forward. Mya Darkblaze! She flinched when they said her last name. It was a hated family in the Fire region. Every info spoke out presses more charges and hate on her and anyone related to her. She gave everyone a apologetic look before looking back at the soldier. By the Constitution of the Last War, all Fire region members are forbidden to leave the nation. Punishment is death. If you surrender, we will spare your life.

Mya snarled at them. Tell your stupid king I refuse. My dragon will suffer like today! Besides, what chance do you have against us?

The soldier smiled and snapped his fingers. Another guard brought out a special looking drum and hit it in a special beat. To the human ear, it sounded normal, but all their dragons started to doze off. Mya frowned. The Sleeping Beat. You all play dirty.

Maybe if you surrendered, it wouldn't be like this. Kill them all! The soldiers pulled out swords and charged at them. Mya pulled out hers and got in a fighting stance.

 

Yuuki's blue eyes widened to large orbs of blue when Cloud fell asleep. "Uh-oh..."

 

Rhian reacted instantly, which suprised even her, she fired volley after volley at the charging soldiers, while walking backwards towards Avira. She knew that she was much weaker at close combat so she had to do all the damage she could at a distance and try not to let them get too close to her. She was scared, she refused to show it but really this was one of the first times she'd actually been in life threatening situations and she that frightened her. On top of that Ariva, who had always been there to support her was out of the fight meaning it was down to her. She'd also not really shot at people before and she did not want to be a murderer, she purposely aimed to miss vital organs but if they happened to move in the way of the arrow, she figured that wasn't her fault. "Avira, stay with me, please" She said to her dragon as fired her arrows desperatly at a lightning pace but her dragon had slumped. "We need to take out the drums!" She shoutd to the others. She was moving back faster now, doing all she could to avoid hand to hand fighting.

 

alex stood there defenseless. she had no weapons or sleeping dragons. there wasn't even anything on the ground worth using for defense. she stepped behind akuto, but knew it was wrong to depend on him to be her shield.

olivia was sleeping alongside krios when he perked his head up. there was a faint noise in the woods. they hadn't gone too far from the location they had landed at in the light nation, but far enough away that olivia wouldn't be able to accidentally find her way back. there was something happening. he stood up, causing olivia to wake.
"what's going on?" not sure...climb on.
she got on his back and they took off back towards the light kingdom.

 

Yuuki cowered, since after all she still was a young child. "Cloud..." she whimpered and clung to her dragon.

Shinobi hitched a ride with her neighbor who owned a dragon. He'd said his dragon would be able to track the dragon who stole her child. Landing in the ruins, Shinobi tied up her hair and adjusted the sword at her hip and bow and arrows on her back. "It's now or never, Shin...time so save my baby."

 

Drawing his sword, Allen held it in front of him. "Who wants to fight me first?" He said readying his sword. He knew it was going to be though protect himself and Xero, but he's save his life on more than one occasion. So this was his way a replaying his debt to his dragon.

 

Mya ferociously fought as 5 guards grouped her and others going after Allen and the others. The rest were attempting to take Mai away.

 

An arrow shot through the maze of branches and struck into a soldier trying to take Mai. Three more followed suit.

Yuuki covered her head in fear and clung to Cloud's side.

 

olivia and krios touched down just out of sight from the fray. they sat there for a minute thinking of a plan.
"all of the other dragons are sleeping. do you think they were charmed?" it's a good possibility. probably wouldn't be smart to just charge right in then. "maybe we could come down from above. you could grab a bunch of them with you claws and carry them a distance from here. by the time they could walk back everyone would be gone." that sounds good. if any try to fight, you can take them out with your daggers. "all right! let's go."
krios took off and flew over the trees into the clearing. olivia gave a cheer as krios swooped down and grabbed a guard with each one of his four sets of claws. he dropped them in a small lake about a half mile north and then turned around to come back and grab more.

 

Akuto's eyes switched from their regular purple to a blood red and his scar markings under his eyes extended to his chin and felt his power surge, his overcoat fly back as mana started flowing from his hands creating a barrier around him and Alex, "New age tricks don't work on ancient beings" he mumbled to himself as he heard Peter Hausen stand up and roar at nearly deafening volume.
Such juvenile tricks, this should be fun, haven't fought in hours Peter Hausen flew towards the ground and dove quickly, picking multiple soldiers up in his massive jaws and a couple in each of his claws.
Akuto ran towards the group after leaving a shield around Alex, chanting quietly to himself as he grew visibly more enraged, he shot an arcing blue ball of mana towards the group and as it hit, it exploded like a mortar. "Everyone! try to wake your dragons!" he shouted as he continued to fight

 

alex screamed out in fear. akuto had become so terrifying that she turned around and ran. she was out of the city clearing before anyone could have noticed. as she got farther away, the shield started to flicker out. when it had completely dissipated, alex was about a quarter of a mile south. the sounds of melee could no longer be heard and she tripped over a rock as she was getting close to the river. there was a splashing sound coming from the water that didn't go along with the usual lapping of the water. she steadied herself as she got up and slowly walked to the sound.

olivia and krios arrived back over the ruined city and barely made it out of the giant dragon's berth.
it smells...evil... "what?" nevermind.
they grabbed for more soldiers before they turned to dump them off in the lake again. by that point in time there were only si gaurds left. an easy number to take down.

 

Mya dispatched the rest of the guards except for one which Mya kicked to the floor and pointed her sword at him. For letting you live, I want you to tell your king to stay out of our way, or I will kill him. Understand? The soldier just ran off, yelling back. You'll never live long enough! You'll die an outcast and a hated person! Mya sighed and walked back to Mai, patting her head.

 

olivia and krios landed by mya and mai. she climbed down off of her dragon and walked over to mya.
"nice job on that last guy."
she smiled playfully as she walked around inspecting the new damage added to the ruined city.

 

Akuto felt his energy reabsorb itself into his body and his scars and eyes return to normal, and he looked around as he saw Peter Hausen bite one of the soldiers in half and crush another in his claws and return behild the group. "Everyone alright?" he asked the group

 

as alex walked closer to the river she saw a large mass sticking out of it. it's body was an assortment of blue hues with fifteen foot long leathery wings sticking out. ale crept closer not wanting to startle it. once she was right alongside the river, she sat down and dipped her feet into the water. the creature raised up out of the water so that it was completely revealed accept for the bottom of it's legs. alex was leaning so far forward in awe that she didn't realize she was about to fall in until it was too late. there was a loud splash.

 

Rhian smiled and nodded at Akuto, "Yeah, I think so. We made a pretty good team." She said quietly as she collected her arrows from the battle field, she saw no reason to leave perfectly good arrows and she didn't know when she'd have the oppertunity to make more. That had given them a fright but they appeared to be no worse off from it. It seemed unreal that their newly formed group had just fought off an army and she was loving it, though she was doing her best to stay calm and collected. She walked back to Avira slowly and saw her dragon was awake and watching her silently, which she smiled at before looking over at Mya. "So, mind explaining what that was all about? Helpful to know what we're all getting ourselves into." She figured the more she could discover about this the better, she didn't want to put herself or anyone else in danger by not knowing what was going on. She also had noticed a few new people had arrived to help them out, also with dragons.

 

Shinobi's arrows thunked into Cloud's side and startled the dragon awake and into a fury.

"Human arrows! Filthy, dirty, rotten...!" she snarled and let out a reverberating roar.

Shinobi rolled out of her cover of the bushes and aimed another arrow at the massive white dragon.

 

Peter Hausen heard the loud splash and looked over towards the water to see if he could tell where the noise came from. He looked and saw nothing, but kept his face near the water's surface.
