Square-Enix Aeris or Aerith?

I prefer Aerith... It's the name I knew first, and the one I got used to. It's the same reason I usually call Squall Leon, too.

Exactly. Anyone who says "Aeris" is real, is wrong. As harsh as it sounds, it's the truth; the real name was Aerith.

Aeris sounds quite elemental IMO and it is pretty, but I prefer Aerith because it suits her better.

I like Aeris. It sounds pretty and I think it would have been better to stick to the original. After all, I believe they pronounce it "Aerith" in Japan anyway.

But the purpose of this post is the question:
Are there any other characters like this that aren't from FF7?

 

Well, for a while people were confused with the pronunciation of Tidus from FFX. It is "Tie-dus" and in KH1 it was pronounced "Tee-dus". That's the only other one I can think of right now.

 

Well,i aways called him Tee-du(Without the S) anyway,only recently i've been calling him Tee-dus.
But that's a good one.

 

I'm pretty sure the correct pronunciation is Tie-dus though.

And back to Aeris, I didn't know that it was supposed to be Aerith in the US. Is that because they wanted to keep the pronunciation the same and they didn't care about spelling?

 

Well,'im not from Us,so i don't how to say it,i hope they say his name in Dissidia.

And well,Aeris was a mis-traslation at least that i heard,they just didn'tcare at first,and they fixed in KH.

I don't think they ever say her name in Advent Children.

 

Aerith is better. I just like the sound of it.

 

I like the original name Aeris better, but Aerith is good too. Both nice... It's really the same person[ish...] anyway so yeah...
