I like them both. I guess I'm more familiar with AC/DC (next to impossible to see them live now, unfortunately). Iron Maiden has great songs too though, but I've missed chances to see them so far. Oh well, as long as they keep rocking as hard as they do...

    I love this thread

But Iron Maiden is the shit. I love them. Quick question though.
Why isn't Judas Priest up there?

I really like this sort of music, I haven't really listened to AC/DC but Iron Maiden I adore. I wish I owned more of their music. This is the sort of music I first hear when playing Guitar Hero and immediately fall in love with it, Korn is another band that I love. This is also the sort of music I can just never skip past on my iPod, even if I've listed to the song a thousand times.

Ah, yes, two friggin awesome bands right there. I've listened to AC/DC a bit more than Iron Maiden, but they're both some of the best bands out there, and they have been for years. Sucks that its so hard to see AC/DC live, or I'd be at that shit all the time.

I'm more of a fan of Iron Maiden. AC/DC's a pretty good band too, but I dunno.
I just got started on Iron Maiden earlier, and I've listened to them for a while now. They're the opposite of the music I usually listen to (The Format, Emmy The Great) which is really chill kinda stuff, but I've always had a thing for rocking out with my sock out every once in a while.

How does one associate Maiden with ACDC? One's a metal band that helped lay the foundation for several sub-genres, especially power metal, the other's an arena hard rock band whose songs are all so similar that they tend to run together.

I saw them live in New Orleans. They were good, but I'm not a huge fan of the new singer.

I like very few songs from both bands. I have a massive amount of songs from both and they just...well, suck. This is just my opinion though. I do love classic rock/metal but those are two bands that have very few good songs, almost all of them being the most popular ones. They aren't too technically impressive either. I'd have to start making comparisons with other bands though to point this out and I'd rather not get into that. I don't hate these two bands but in my opinion they aren't that great either no matter how influential they might have been.

New singer? I thought Brian Johnson provided lead vocals since the early eighties?
I imagine it's not that hard for Americans then. AC/DC did two live gigs in Belgium two years ago; the first since a decade.

That's an unfortunate fact. Listening to their album "Flick Of The Switch" made me wonder whether they re-used the same song on all 10 tracks.
