    I've noticed that once you create a poll you can't edit it. I would like there to be a way in thread tools for people to edit pools.

    I have to agree there.It's just like the titles.If you make a mistake or want to change it you can't.

    I agree completely; I don't really make polls, so it wouldn't directly influence me, but it must be annoying when you realize that you forgot an option. Although, we should probably limit the time that you can edit it down to an hour or two, since the results will probably be inaccurate after that. Or the results can reset to zero once it's edited to avoid biased outcomes.

    Oh dear lord, I completely agree with this idea. There are SO many that make mistakes in the poll which can often deem the entire thread as useless. Unless you are in the spamzone, this is something that prompts another of the same thread being created in the forums, and a whole lot of calling staff to come help get rid of the obsolete thread. I think that this is a good idea, but I also will have to agree with iwantedtoexplode. This can come of to a biased result if the creator wishes it to be, so a time limit set to edit the polls would also be a good idea indeed [if that is possible].

    With that in mind, editing polls are also difficult nonetheless. Even Administrators have a hard time doing it, and I've seen that personally. xD And it was rather lulzy moment. Anyway, I'm totally up for the idea if it somehow is a possible.

    Yea but don't you see how it could lead to problems? People could abuse it changing it from something harmless to something embarrassing to the people who participated in the poll/thread.

    Anyone can abuse anything. Its not very likely someone would do that though. Besides, if a kid makes something embarassing like that mod and/or admins can always change it.

    I'm with the idea all the way. I screw up on polls all the time...since it is part of a post, shouldn't we be able to edit it?

    That's linked actually... and also the reason why I'm going to have to apologize while I explain why this can't be done. You users are able to edit your own posts, not your own threads. For this reason, you cannot change the thread title or poll without an admin or mod. Now I'm sure you are thinking "Well that's dumb, let us edit our threads." Trust me, I'd like to do that as much as you guys would. The problem is, there is only one way to do that... and it's enabling your usergroup (Registered Users, Premium, etc) to be able to edit threads. Unfortunally if I do that, it gives you the power to edit/close anyone's thread... or in simple terms, makes everyone a mod. If you need a poll changed the staff will be willing to help you out there, so don't be afraid to ask. =]

    And with that, we can have more of that "wtf" moment from the Color Poll Thread... right RvR? xD

    Hmm... I had a feeling this would be the reason/answer why it wouldn't work. Ah well. But I could've sworn that I once changed the title of one of my threads before. O; Anyhow, my memory escapes me.

    Wait a second. Why is it that our posts have a sense of identity, but not our threads? How come you can set it so we can only edit our posts, but you cannot set it so we can only edit our threads? Isn't there a patch?

    Quiet you, it's not like I pulled a Xaldin or anything. xD

    There are no vBulletin options in regards to editing your own thread polls or titles. So basically if I give you the power to edit threads, it would allow you to edit anyone's. Like I said, it would give the entire usergroup that ability which obviously isn't an option. If you still don't understand... well in basic terms, there's no such thing as a "Allowed to edit own polls/thread title" options. It's either everyone's or no one's. All I can suggest is that you double check your polls and threads before submitting them.

    *shunned* D;
    But gotta admit, it was lulzy. <3

    Anyway...
    Alright. I looked back at my own history of threads created, and I found the thread where I DID change the thread title. Considering everything you've now was that possible? I specifically remember changing the title of the thread. A possible glitch perhaps?

    You can change the title inside the thread but not outside. If that's not the case let me know... but it should be.

    Wait scratch that... *feels exceptionally dumb* O;

    <_<

    >_>

    It's fine. I guess I just never noticed that the MAIN title hadn't changed after that. Since the sub title inside the thread changed, I just assumed that the main title had changed as well. After the change, I just never pain attention to the thread again to ever notice if the title had been changed or not. Wow... well there's your ******ed moment of the day... brought to you by, yours truly. <3

    It sounds like a nice idea, but if you can edit the poll you can edit the outcome. Abuse abuse abuse. A simple PM to a mod would suffice. That's one of the reasons we have staff.

    N' RvR basically nailed this in the head. They best just make all members mods. ;P

    So mods and admins can actually edit your own polls for you? That's good, but it would be good for players to be able to edit their polls they made too.

    Unfortunately, as was said, there just is not a way to let that happen. If you PM a Mod or Admin though any of us would be glad to help fix the post to how you want it. It's a slight inconvenience but one we can hopefully all endure.

    A way to change polls

    Could you make it so you could change poll options if nobody has voted yet?

    You can't. The forum is set like this and I believe I'm right in saying there is no way of changing it.

    It would be great if we could edit polls, but I don't think it's possible no matter what.
