A week in a haunted house.

Zack looked around the basement, "you think it will open a door?" he asked.

 

"I don't know. There's only one door here, but it's locked from the the other side. I remember seeing something in here the last time I came down here... with a keyhole." Kahlene gave it some thought.

 

"do you remember what it was?" he asked.

 

Kahlene took a minute to try and remember. "...." She gasped. "I remember!" She turned to Zack. "It was a box. A pretty box."

 

"then lets find the box" he said and began looking around.

 

"It's a small gold box with rubby's on it and a rose made of jewels." She also began looking.

 

Zack looked around, "I dont see it, do you?" he asked Kahlene.

 

"Nope, but it's gotta be around here somewhere. I just know it..." Kahlene kept searching until she tripped on something. "Ah!"

 

Zack put his hand out and caught Kahlene, "you ok?"

 

She was panting out fear. "Yea, I think so." Kahlene looked on the floor. "I found it!"

 

Zack picked it up, "think the key will fit?" he asked.

 

Kahlene slightly chuckled. "I hope so."

 

Zack held out the box, "try to open it with the key then" he said.

 

She stuck the key in the keyhole. I fit perfectly. "Here goes nothing..." Kahlene turned it. It opened.

 

"it opened, whats inside?" Zack asked holding the box.

 

"It's..." Kahlene held it up. "A necklace."

 

"oh" Zack set the box down, "that a pretty necklace" he said.

 

"It is." She opened the rose shaped part of the necklace. "A picture..."

 

"a picture of what" Zack asked curiously.

 

"A girl and a boy." Kahlene showed it to him.
