A vampires touch

"Where do you think your going!?" He stopped Adrain and teleported him in a ally some where. "Im here to kill you now!" He said with his strong transilvain voice.

 

"Let's go back outside, then. Unless he's a complete fool or a maniac, he won't try to kill us while there are all these people around."

 

"Lets lead him down one of the alleys and bait him. I can't wait to play with this one. It's been so long since I've had someone to join the fun."

"Works for me. Let's go."

Tabris walked towards the door. Just before he walked out, he looked back. The hunter had gotten up, and seemed to be slowly and cautiously moving towards them.

"He's following us."

 

"Lets walk out slowly to make sure he doesn't lose us in the crowd. I haven't had such fun for a long time."

Selene linked her arm through his and walked slowly out.

 

It had been a while since someone had even touched Tabris without the intention of killing him. It felt good to know that there was someone out there who didn't have the intention of hunting him down and killing him.

"Me neither," Tabris said. It's nice to ba able to hunt the hunters, instead of the situation being vice versa."

Tabris continued walking with Selene into a long, dark alleyway, knowing the hunter would come soon.

 

Selene smiled and nodded. It was good to be hunting with another again. She had worked alone for far too long.Tabris was ok once you got past the barriers. He had obviously had a rough time in the past which had made him defensive. Selene found that she actually liked the feral vampire. She wondered what he had been like as a man. The hunter wouldn't be long, she knew that, but he would be in for a shock.

 

Tabris perks his ears up and hears footsteps approaching. "I think he's catching up. We'd better get ready."

 

Selene removed her arm from his, reluctantly. She was ready to fight. Excitement pounded through her. This would be a fine game, made better as the prey was a hunter. Lestat would have appreciated the irony. She remembered the hunts. Leon was never overly excited by them, which she didn't understand. She wondered how he would have coped in this situation.

 

Tabris slunk into the shadows, waiting for the hunter to walk into the trap.
He was going to enjoy this. He hadn't had the opportunity to actually enjoy himself in a while, what with the constant attempts on his life. Now, he found himself actually enjoying hunting with selene. IT's amazing what companionship can do for you.

Tabris looked at Selene and looked briefly in the direction of the hunter and then back at selene, as if to say "Ladies first."

 

Selen smiled and nodded. Tabris was a charming companion. She moved with catlike grace, attacking the hunter leaving him stunned and bleeding. She nodded to Tabris to acknowledge that it was his turn.

She had heard that the gangrel were feral and cruel, but Tabris was not what she had expected. He seemed to be relaxing and enjoying the game. She licked the blood from her long manicured nails.

 

Tabris walked over and looked in the man's eyes as he writhed on the ground. He looked like he was in pain. Which would make sense. Normally tabris would have killed him right there out of mercy. But he was feeling differet tonight. SO, he just delivered a powerful blow with his claws to the man's back.

He must have cut too deeply. The man twitched for a moment and went limp.
Tabris felt stupid. "Heh, looks like i broke our toy", he said sheepishly. "Sorry."

 

"Never mind, we can always get a new one." Selene realised that Tabris was new to playing the hunting game. He was obviously serious and had never had chance to relax, always fighting to survive. It was a shame, as she could see he would love the more decadent life.

"Lets throw this one away and find another."

She dumped the body out of sight, and linked her arm through Tabris's.

 

"Works for me. Back at the club, or somewhere else?"

Tabris couldn't help but feel relieved. If he had been among the gangrel and done that, he would have been a corpse for sure. It was good to know there were reasonable people/vampires out there sometimes.

For a moment it occurred to tabris that it wans't exactly reasonable to torture someone, kill them, and throw their body in a dumpster.

That moment passed Tabris by quickly.

 

"Shall we hunt elsewhere? The club has already given us a toy and we don't want to break all those a t once. Lets try one of the outdoor hunting grounds."

Selene could sense the relief in Tabris when she didn't get angry, but couldn't quite understand why. LeStat had taught her that other vampires had to learn the subtlety of the game, so she would be patient with him. The gangrel were not known for their patience and understanding. The poor child was probably used to being punished for every mistake. She had heard a rumour that the gangrel were no more, but she was walking with a member at this moment. Perhaps he was the last, alone like her.

 

"Outside... There's a city park near here. Shall we try our luck there?"

 

"How charming, a moonlight walk in the park. You're quite the romantic, aren't you? It's the perfect place to play."

 

Tabris smiled. "I guess it could be said. Shalle we go?"

Romantic. That had been a word not often used to describe tabris. The most common words tabris could think of were Soft and Weak. Of course, that's what many of the "hardcore" Gangrels called anyone who didn't at least eat part of their prey while they were still alive.

But selene seemed different. She seemed understanding, which wasn't something tabris was used to.

 

Selene smiled at Tabris. He was quite the mystery. Shy and seemingly a little unsure, she would not have associated him with the gangrel. He was more like one of the coven, staying in the group and having fun together, safe in the knowledge that the group looked after each other. She would enjoy the hunt here. Tabris reminded her of an awkward youth. She wondered where he lived.
