A vampires touch

Tabris liked a good conversation. And the policeman had been nice to tabris. Nicer than most mortals, anyway. Unfortunately, Tabris thought as he threw the policeman's dried husk of a corpse into a dumpster, he was thirsty.

Tabris felt guilty as he walked away. He was replenished and had more energy, but he had more blood on his hands. But there was another side of him that was telling him that he had done what was necessary to survive. Besides which, he had died an honorable death, in the line of duty. Tabris also had his own duty to his coven. He still had to find the saint.

"Sorry, officer", Tabris said as he closed the dumpster lid. "It's been nice talking to you, though."

 

Selene could not rest easily and awoke agitated. Something wasn't right. She wandered up to the house, but the bolts were in place and the house undisturbed. She slipped out into the night. Wandering through town, she spotted the occasional wanderer who was definitely not mortal. She ignored them and joined the frivolity of the nightly entertainment. Tonight she went to a late night showing at a cinema. They were showing an old 'B' movie, a vampire film no less. Selene appreciated the irony. She paid for the ticket and went inside choosing a seat with a good view of the audience. She could take her pick.

 

"Shhh do you know why your in here?!"The whipery voice said covering Adrains mouth and pushing him against the wall of the sewer.
Adrain wouldve answered this but the voice did for him.
"Your being hunted by the hunted, we are in need of your help." The voice said letting go of Adrains mouth.
"And what will you give me or do for me?" Adrain said relived that his night vision kicked in again.
"We the organization Rebelion will give you the locations of all the vampires willing to protect anyone willing to go against the Vampire hunter."The voice that now had a figure and a face.
"Hmp what good will that do?! There are no other vampires in the area ive look and i wouldve scented the no if you dont mind ill take my leave."Adrain said opening a portal behind him and quickly stepping in it.
"God that guy was annoying. Hopfully organization Rebellion doenst hunt me down."Adrain said talking to himself until he bumpped into a girl who had a very powerful aura.

 

Tabris felt the policeman's wallet in his pocket. Mostly he ran his fingers around the smooth metal badge. IT felt good. tabris still found himself feeling guilty though. He thought about how pathetic he was for it. He had been a creature of the night for over ten years now. He should have stopped feeling guilt years ago. Maybe if i had, my coven would still be alive, Tabris lamented as he continued to walk down the street.

That's when he passed the sleeping hobo. Tabris ignored him at first. Then it hit him: I'm a vampire. I don't need money. Tabris walked back to the hobo, took all of the identification out of the policeman's wallet, and placed it in the hobo's jacket. Tabris felt a bit more human as he walked into the night. He had to admit, it felt good.

 

Adrain stared at the girl as her eyes widen.
"Excuse me." she said walking passed him while looking back. It always bothered him when girls did that, though at that moment thye smell of her aura was very strong not like a vampires but it wasnt human ethier, As he continued walking he decided that she might be a witch or worse another slayer. God how sick of slayers Adrain was, and how he seemed to be the hunted unlike other vampires and creatures of the night.
"I could be normal.....couldnt i? Im only half vampire therefore i dont need to do what other vampires do."Adrain still thought as he reached a night club while slipping inside to stay hidden.

 

Tabris had walked for about three more blocks before he literally bumped into a nun. What a nun was doing on the street at this time of night was beyond tabris. Of course, as soon as she pulled out the throwing knives, tabris got his answer. He had had some practice dodging attacks like this.

"BEGONE, CREATURE OF DARKNESS!!" the nun screamed.

This one wasn't normal. There was something about her...

"You work for him, don't you?" Tabris asked.

 

Adrain couldnt stand being in the night club any longer. Quickly he walked out and noticing a nun and a dark stranger on the other side of the street. Being nosy as he was he went to see what they were talking about.

 

Selene followed a young woman out of the cinema. She seemed lost and alone. After following her for some time Selene, struck up a conversation about the film. The woman was nervous, but relaxed when she realised Selene appeared to be the same age as her. They chatted about nothing in particular and walked along. Selene used the line about the car and led her to another street, where she found a dark recess and struck. She drank deeply and threw the body into the dumpster. Now she would relax and look for a potential companion.

 

The nun proceeded to rant and rave about how the man that single-handedly eliminated tabris's entire covenant was going to purge the world of "Hellspawn" like Tabris. The high-pitched and derisive tone of her voice made Tabris immediately stop listening.
The funny thing was, if she was conected with him, she was probably pretty strong. Maybe her threat had some substance to it.

That's when he noticed the man walking towards them from the other side of the street. Tabris really hoped he wasn't going to get involved in this struggle, because this lady was powerful and crazy- two things that never mix well.

 

Selene walked past and saw a man in some form of discussion with a nun. She hurried her steps. She did not want to get involved. Selene had learned from past experience that some situations were more dangerous than they initially appeared. She glanced at the man and rushed on, turning up her collar.

 

Adrain saw the man staring at him and he took that a sign to leave. Once he thought about it he had enough of his own probelms insted of dealing will a cray old nun and a guy hes never seen before. Looking back he noticed a young woman hurry off.
"The streets seem busy tonight to busy for my taste."Adrain Thought quickly opening a portal and stepping into it then appearing on a roof top a block away.
"No where to find those vampires the stranger talked about."Adrain said talking to himself looking in his aura vision perception. Only he noticed other colored auras insted of vampires.

 

People seemed to be clearing off. Good. That meant less peple would get hurt, because this was inevitably going to turn into a struggle. And as soon as the nun realized Tabris wasn't listening to her, that's exactly what happened.
The nun pulled out a gun and started shooting at tabris. The first bullet barely grazed tabris's left arm, and the second hit it full on. Tabris grunted in pain and leapt at the nun. She pulled a shortsword and charged forward to meet him.

They collided, tabris barely preventing the shortword from going into his heart.

"Begone, Hellspawn!" the woman screamed.

 

Adrain looked at the direction of the gunshot.
"Hmp what was that?"Shruging Adrain went back to Looking for for vampires and thats when something out of the blue stabbed him through the chest. Turning aroung he saw it was a young woman who had her face casted with darkness so he couldnt identify her.

Powers : can create really loud noises, strong sound waves to stun and knock back enemies.

"I can't believe the stuff that people just throw-away these days!" Shrieker thought as he sucked the last few drops from the man he had found in the dumpster. "At least the guy who threw out the policeman finished him to the last bit of blood, but this one practically still has a pulse! what a waste . . . well not a waste anymore." Then Shrieker tasted something familiar.

"Selene killed this man." He though with an insane smile.

 

Tabris's left arm was useless at this point. Luckily, the Nun only had one sword, so the fight was relatively even. My life has been pretty weird since i became a vampire, but almost getting killed by a nun really takes the cake, thought tabris.

"What does he want?" asked Tabris as he parried another blow from the nun's sword.

"That is not for you to know, filthy beast!"

 

Selene rushed back towards the nightclub area, past the alley where she had fed earlier. She saw a figure skulking near the dumpster where she had dumped the victim of her thirst earlier. Some vampires were desperate, she knew. Selene did not have either the time or the patience for an encounter with a hungry vampire, but curiosity got the better of her. She slowly walked towards the figure. perhaps he was new and needed some guidance. She needed company. She remembered the days with Lestat, they had been fun. Now she was lonely. She yearned for those days again.

 

Adrain solwly went on gaurd as the woman approached him.
"Are you Adrain?" She said comming forward slowly.
"What is it too you?! Who the hell are you?"Adrain growled as she stepped in to the light of the street lights.
"Well I have been sent to kill you Adrain." Adrain wondered how she knew him.
"Oh really and just who do you think you are?! Adrain watched as she walked in front of him.
"I am a genically designed vampire assisan assigned to kill you so lets make this nice and slow." The woman held a gun to Adrains head before he dodge rolled before she could shoot him.

 

Shrieker heard someone behind him, but payed no notice. He searched the body with great vigor trying to find something, anything that might lead him to Selene's position.

As he worked Shrieker, talked to himself, "I've got to get her something . . . a present! . . . something to show that I care . . . and that she should be with me! . . . maybe the still beating heart of some young thing."

Shrieker remembered when he had first seen her back when he was human. He had thought it was love at first sight . . . but things got a little complicated and he wound up a vampire. He wondered if she still looked the same as the last time he saw her, god (the word hurt his mind a little to think) know he did.

He still had the same messy, dirty hair only a little more so than a few years back. He still alway wore the cuff of his shirt up as though to hid his face which looked as though it had a one time been handsome. And his eyes had not changed, his eyes still made him look so lost and out of place that no one had every asked him for directions.

 

"Are you lost?" Selene put her hand on the stranger's shoulder. There was a familiarity about this person, something she had yet to work out. She wanted more than anything to see his face. perhaps she could recognise him. No, that was ridiculous. She hadn't turned anyone since she left Paris. She had been on her own too long. Whoever he was, he wasn't startled by her presence. Probably too new to know the dangers.

 

"How did it feel, hellspawn? How did it feel to see him in all his magnificence, smiting the wretched beasts from the earth? The gangrel may have been one of the most powerful covens in existence, but it was nothing to him! You're nothing but a rotten, mangy dog to him! You-"

Tabris had been feeling guilty that entire night. He had felt scared and guilty when he killed the rookie and the cop. He had acknowledged their existnce, and the fact that they were human beings. He had regretted killing both of them.

This time, though, as tabris leapt towards the nun, all that guilt, regret and doubt dissapeared. all those soft feelings of humanity dissolved into that all-too-familiar haze of rage and bloodlust. Tabris felt like a whole new person. It felt good as his claws raked the nun's skin, and he enjoyed listening to her scream. He didn't even care who knew it. Happiness soared through his soul as he continued to hack at her with his claws. And when the life left her eyes, Tabris let out a long, loud howl of animalistic glee.
