Birth by Sleep A theory.

Alright, so, I saw a sig of someone here on KHV, of Terra being offed around by Zack.
Well, this leaves off to a instant theory I just sparked. One I know a bunch of you already concluded by now, but whatever.

You see, it would be interesting if they told us Terra had some relation to Zack before they unleashed the game. If that was told then, you know what new world would be bestowed before us when we get the chance to play BBS?
We'd probably get a FF7 world, not just your everyday Hollow Bastion where all the FF characters reside, but straight out FF7.
Midgar, SOLDIER, motorcycles, in depth story and background. Basically, the essence of true FF7 atmosphere.

What would be your take on it?

 

Terra most likely is not at all related to Zack in any way, and Nomura probably did just like the design of the character and used some inspiration for Terra. FF characters are purely cameos and hold roles but what their importance is to the main characters is going to be rather dim. They aren't 'critical' to the storyline in any real way and I don't see Nomura connecting them any more than Axel and Reno are connected which is just by inspiration alone. There is no real link to them other than appearance and possibly demeanor.

I'm going to move this though to the BBS section as it fits better there.

 

Nomura said himself that he thinks Kingdom Hearts is the next final fantasy, so you'd think he would be trying to slowly move away from final fantasy...

And like Repliku said ff cameos are just that...cameos...they actually havent had anything to do with the story or sora's goals.

 

Nomura makes sure that all the important characters and Places are original.To do otherwise would lose the franchise fans.

 

Although that's be ****ing amazing world to go through, it's not likely. Since Terra was only BASED off of Zack, really doesn't mean that they are entwined. But you never know if there will be a bit more final fantasy in the game, considering I remember reading BBS will be one of the least Disney influenced games.

 

I imagine kh will start straying from final fantasy as the story goes on. So, yeah like Hissora said, its most likely that Terra wouldn't be related to Zack as well. It would be awesome, but I'd prefer Terra being an original as well.

 

The only FF character that was needed, and was important to the story was Leon. And Zack doesn't look like Terra really, he doesn't have the same eyes, Terra looks I don't know, bigger? And Terra has a bigger nose...and doesn't have those beautiful mako eyes (wait I said that already) but anyway, they don't look alike to me, their hair isn't the same really, the only connection I see is their muscles. And you can't really say just because Terra has suspenders means he looks like Zack, because Zack had to wear that as uniform for SOLDIER, but why did Sephiroth and Genesis get their own costume? Genesis' looks cool. I'd like to see Genesis as a secret boss in BBS.

 

There's been a lot of threads like this. I would say its probably not true because the KH Staff likes to only give non-FF characters Keyblades.

 

He said that KH was different from FF in that it's about one character, one story, something about "succeeded the blood".

Anyway, SE keeps recycling character designs:

Neku - Sora
Cloud - Roxas/Ven
Reno - Axel
Zack - Terra

 

Didn't Kingdom Hearts come out before The world ends with you, or not? Cloud doesn't really look like Roxas to me, it's just the color of his hair that looks the same. And Square loves to make people have blue eyes...which is REALLY annoying. Ahh, but Reno doesn't have black make-up stuff now does he? Zack doesn't looks anything like Terra in my opinion >_>

 

Maybe Nomura just favors the appearances of Final Fantasy 7 characters .

 

Truthfully, it wouldn't make much sense. It isn't much of a theory, but more of a suggestion. I believe Nomura stated that though there would be FF characters, they wouldn't play any highly important roles, and I think that being related to a main character would count. Also, they only use Disney and original worlds.

 

Kingdom hearts is from Square Enix after all. BUT I agree with "What?", it wouldn't make much sense. Even though it adapts a few properties from FF7: Crisis Core, he wouldn't just right away tell you that Terra is related to a SOLDIER and is related to Zack. He wants to keep up his originality, and create a basis of his own character. Once you get the game, you can find out the relations with Terra and Zack if they have any.
