Lol, this is just ridiculous...I mean yes, it's okay to discipline someone for making a hit list of sorts, but I think it's kind of crazy to try and keep people from watching the anime or reading the manga just because it's dark and violent. Who cares? They sell Death Notes at a million and ten anime stores, and it's not like people are dropping like flies yet. Does that mean that anybody who is in possession of a Death Note copy will be suspended if they write on it?

Ech, some people just need to chill..

Just stupid. It's just a TV show and it's not like anyone in that notebook is going to die like how it is writen. People over recate way too easily. I think that before they even tell their parents about it they should at least look it up to see what it is and where it came from. I mean if that person really wanted someone dead...the person who they want dead would of already be dead. God people today just need to lossen up.

I read somewhere that there have actually been people murdering and claiming that their Kira. Pretty messed up. I can't help but wonder why exactly people are using an anime as an excuse to commit murder.

    *sigh*
So these parents actually believe that if a fellow student writes their childs name in the notebook they'll perish?
Sure it seems like a list of people they want dead, and they should be punished for that, but not for the fact that any of this will happen! I mean if the words "Death Note" were written on an ordinary notebook what would they do then? I tend to doodle on my notebooks and if I just so happened to scrwal the words Death Note on my science notebook what could they -the teachers- do? Honestly the whole thing seems overdramatized...

That is just...Something. This shouldn't be such a big deal. It's not like it would actually work. Death Note is an anime and for those that haven't realized it, anime isn't excatly real. It's like saying there are actually people who can weild a keyblade in this world. Nobody should take this seriously because I doubt that the people in this students Death Note will die. I've also been to the site where you can put people names in a Death Note. Like I said before, nobody can actually die from it in reality. He might have done it because he has some anger issues. I think banning Death Note would just make the sitution worse. It won't stop other people from making Death Note. I completly doubt that that exprience will cause someone to become "Kira". And if they did, how excatly would that work out?

    1. How the **** is this intelligent?

    2. It's obviously stupidity. Not one person has wrote names of people in a fake death note and then went on a killing spree the next day. They're is no reason to ban them, the schools are just gettin paranoid not because of the show, but because of the word death on it and list of names.

It's intelligent in that it is getting people to think and discuss how the public can over-react to a seemingly harmless act or item just because of hype. Death Note is a cartoon and not based in any reality but sadly people in the real world are becoming so paranoid that if there is any excuse to ban something or pronounce it evil they will. You have to question whether this is really the right course or whether it should be ignored.

On the opposite end of the scale there is a fear of terrorism and personal safety but I can still buy fireworks easily enough and as a kid I played with toy guns. A fake Death Note is a game or prop, not a real kill list.

  12. Right, it shouldn't be made of a big deal, but I understand where they are coming from.

While sometimes it's all harmful play, and for fun, but however thin the chances are, there can be someone out there with serious problems, and quite psychotic to take such things as a Death Note seriously, and go on a murdering spree as they write their names and how they are going to die, etc. You don't need a Death God for it. Serial killers out there have ways of doing their crimes, whether it be specific people, specific clues, specific patterns, and who knows if a person is sick enough psychologically to fake God. Of course, that's the lowest that could occur, is possible, yet I honestly don't think it can ever happen.

Parents get concerned because of that, and the fact that someone hates their child enough to want them "dead" (for fun or otherwise). That's their way of thinking.

Though I don't think that a kid having a Death Note and writing the people he hates down deserves to be in the news x.X. Come on now, that's a bit of overreaction.

I don't want Death Note banned is all D=.

I really don't see the problem to this. My friend bought one and took it to school. He had it wide out in the open. Plus the teahcers at my school don't give a crap about what students do.

And, the kid wasn't actually attempting to kill the names written down. All he did was write names down. No harm in that...

I like how the guy talks about the Death Note, seems like it's too big of words for him.

What an embarrassment, I was afraid something dumb like this would happen when this was brought to America. Really, man, they also ruined Death Note by bringing it to America and dubbing it in English. Pathetic...
