A Scattered Dream

"Axel you don't even know what you're doing? You could cause her more harm!" Demyx freaked out.

 

Axel gazed at Demyx as he sighed. "I know what I am doing," He answered as he continued to press, but not to hard anymore. He was concentrating on method as he massaged her back. "It's not like we can take her back home and the superior will put her back to health." He answered his friend.

 

Xion winced, closing her eyes. "It's okay guys." she whispered. She reached deep down, searching. All her vertebrae were aligned but her spinal cord was severed, just below her waist. She sighed, opening her eyes again. "I don't think it can be fixed." she said, louder this time. She wouldn't let them waste energy on her, not when Sora needed help, and they needed to fight.

 

Xemnas stepped on Sora's back. "Ready to die child?"

 

Xion cried out as she felt Sora's emotions. Without thinking she slammed the rest of her energy into the keyblade, then threw it at Xemnas. Unconsciousness threatened to engulf her, but she struggled. She was nothing, if not stubborn, but how long could she last like this?

 

Xemnas deflected the keyblade. He stared down at Xion. Xemnas stepped off Sora and walked toward Xion.

Sora was able to sit up. He caught his breath and tried to regain energy.

 

Xion's breath caught in her throat. She cringed against Axel, then realized something. "Axel, get away." she whispered.

 

Demyx kept his voice low so only Axel can hear him."Do as she says Axel. If the boss discovers you helped Sora he'll he'll... I don't even want to think about it," he kneeled down holding his head in his hands. "Xion has to be okay. She needs you to be able to withstand what ever happens to you."

 

Xion nodded. "You too, Demyx. You can't be involved." she whispered. She couldn't struggle to get down, but her eyes pleaded with her friends.

 

Axel shook his head he was not going to run away like a coward nor was he going to fight Xenmas either. He gathered Xion in his arms carefuly went over and grabbed her keyblade, "I got her so I am going back to the castle." He replied and disappeared with her into the void of darkness. He did not return to their home, but another place to rest.

 

"Axel...." she started, then stopped. "Why risk it all for me?" she whispered, looking up at him. "I'll die once Kingdom Hearts is open."

 

Xemnas stopped once he saw Axel leave with Xion. Xemnas turned his attention to Sora once again.

 

Axel sighed as he looked at her sadly. How was he suppose to explain this to her. He didn't want to lose a friend it was that simple couldn't she see that. In a way she was important to him and besides Demyx she was the only friend that he had left. "You are my friend, and I can't bare to lose you like Roxas." He was silent thinking about their goal with Kingdom Hearts he didn't know Xion was right or was she lying so that he could take her back to see Sora. He still kept her in his arms as he sat on a rock looking at the ocean. "Even if Kingdom Hearts is full filled...one of us will get their wish, but it won't be by death." He said to her. "I need to get you to someone who can treat your spine." He replied looking her straight in the eyes as he laid a hand on her face gently.

 

Xion reached up to touch the hand that was touching her face. "Who could fix a crushed spine?" she asked softly, smiling a little.

 

Riku finally woke up. He saw that Xion wasn't there. "Xion? Where'd she go?" He whispered.

Kairi layed passed out on the gravel, unmoving.

Terra looked at Xemnas. "Do you really enjoy infelting pain on other people because you can't feel it?" He jumped up in the air and looked like he was going to hit Xemnas, but at the last moment he dispappeared and reappeared behind the nobody.

 

"Damn you Axel. You leave me here to rot and take the blame for you again!" Demyx shouted not realizing or caring that he was making himself a target. "I'm sick of you leaving me all the time," he kicked a stone and sat down not knowing where Axel went. "I bet he didn't return to the castle," he picked up a stick and drew circles in the sand with it.

 

Axel took a deep breath a thought about the situation. "I dont' know, but we will have to find someone. Who can take care of this. This is beyond my power or anyone else's that I know." He carried her around in his arms looking for a doctor of some sort.

 

Xion shook her head. "I don't know either." she shivered,feeling cold. Her legs wouldn't move, and she poked them with her fingers again, trying to get feeling in them.

 

Axel warmed up his body temperature as he felt that she was cold again. Though he thought of an idea. "If we can't find a doctor, we can give you some healing potions instead." From his pocket he took out a potion and let her drink it. "It should give you strength and make it back to normal. For some reason these potions do that." He had stolen it from Sora one time and kept it just in case he needed it from himself.

 

Xion swallowed obediently, feeling her body warm. "But fix a severed spinal cord?" she asked skeptically, though she did feel much better. "And where did you get those?" she asked, looking up at Axel with a small smile on her face.

OOC: Should it fix her spine? I got nothin else...
