A Scattered Dream

"Oh... Demyx placed his finger to his chin. "So that's the whole story huh? Hmm... So what we going to do now?" Does the boss even know Xion and I are here?" he asked Axel.

 

"Prove I feel? How...how can I prove something like that?" She opened her eyes, looking up at Axel again. "Can't you believe something, just once?"

 

Axel looked at Demyx glaring at him. He didn't know if Demyx was playing his head or if he was serious "Of course he knows and if you guys don't get back he is not going to be too happy with you." He then looked at Xion quite glad that she had opened her eyes. "You just proved it. Xion we can feel physical pain." He remembered the memories as he fought them out of his head. "So you want to leave us, even the individuals that you had good memories with? I want to know why you think you belong somewhere else?"

 

"Because....I'm going to die. Maybe not now, but definetly after Kingdom Hearts is opened. I don't know why...but if I open it, or Sora or Xemnas....I'll fade away. If I leave, it won't hurt as much, and maybe..just maybe I might have a chance to survive." She watched him, concentrating on his emotions alone. He was so sad...and confused...

 

"Why should I go back? So I can be thrown in the dungeon again or locked in another room like a prisoner? No thanks for I like my freedom better," he stood in front of Xion. "I bet you do too. It's not right that either of us has to be held captive in a cold dark area Axel."

 

Xion looked over at Demyx, and smiled slightly. He liked freedom as much as she did. But....it wasn't right for her to drag him into this, and get him in trouble. She looked back up at Axel.

 

"You can get some hearts to redeem yourself. If not then......Demyx, then I would have to ask you are you with me or are you against me?" He was forced to give him the ulimatium. He turns his head to Xion. "What are you speaking about the heart shaped moon? If we get our hearts you will die then?" He was now afriaid, but also confused.

 

"Yes...I'll disappear. Then I will truely be, nothing but a memory." She smiled sadly.

Axel! I'm not a traitor so obviously I'm with you. I could never do that to you my friend. Yeah funny huh? You torture me and I still call you my friend. I must be a masacist or something," he laughed feeling like he was losing his mind. "I don't get it at times. Tell me what I must do to get in the boss's good graces again. I don't want to be locked away," he pulled on his cloak givng Axel the puppy dog look.

 

Axel's mind was a complete blank when he heard Xion's words that would completely change their goal all together. If they ever became complete then she would die. So in other words they would never get their hearts at all unless their selfish desires stood more important than an member in the organization. He wanted a heart more than anything and to learn if this was true he would have to throw that dream away scatter it into pieces. So what was more important? A heart or the life of Xion? He was speechless for quite some time emotions flowing with anger, resentment, and dejection "What how is that possible and how do you know?" He asked her confused why she would be happy about this in some sort of way. It was depressing.... He eyed Demyx pulling on his cloak. "No, you are just desperate, but you can collect hearts for him. It is the least you can do to make it up." Surely gaining a few hearts wouldn't hurt at all right?

 

Sora just listend, thinking that if Kingdom Hearts is finished then Xion will die. "Hey, I'm not gonna let Xion die. Axel, we're friends right?" Sora hoped to get Axel on his side.

 

"I was afraid you were going to say that," he moaned. "So do you think you can help me? I'm not the best when it comes to fighting and frankly the job will be done faster if you take hearts too?" Demyx asked wondering if Axel was in the mood to answer him. He looked at Xion sadly hoping what she said wasn't true. "I can't bare seeing us lose one of our members."

 

Axel was taken back by Sora's comment. "What? Who gave you that idea that we are?" He wasn't sure what to think anymore. No, it was Roxas was his friend and Sora was just his somebody.....It was very confusing to him. He was split between taking hearts or not taking hearts? Which was the better option. He had to help Demyx even if he was in fact the one who lacked fighting. Still he was part of the organization so he had a purpose, right? "Fine...I will help you. I won't let Xion die...."

 

Demyx contained himself from jumping up and down. "Great I knew you would." He looked at Sora and eyed him suspiciously. "I don't know what you're doing here, but I won't let Xion die either."

 

"Well, even though it was only an illusion of you. When I was looking for Kairi your illusion helped us get to the World that Never Was so I could save her."

 

Xion listened to this, then started shaking her head, trying to block all the emotions. "No! You have to get your heart back. Then you'll be whole again!" She struggled against unconsciousness. "Diz told me."

 

Riku stood there and listen. None f this made any sence to him. "How long have I've been gone?" He asked.

"I'm confused as well. " Kairi whispered.

 

"Well what should we do?"

 

"I think we should go to some random world and stay there for a while. That way Xemnas and the others would have to waste time and energy."

 

"But we've already got 3 of them on our ship. And why'd you bring Demyx?"
