A Scattered Dream

Aqua chuckled then turned serious. "Riku, we need to talk..."

 

"What is it? did I do something wrong?"

 

Aqua shook her head. "What's going to happen after I rescue Terra and Ven?, i'm from the past."

 

Riku suddenly became aware of his surrondings. His eyes opened slowly. "what did you say?" His head cocked to the side.

 

"RIKU!" Aqua stood up. "This is serious!!!"

 

"I know it." Riku muttered to himself.

 

Aqua sighed. "Well?"

 

Riku looked at Aqua. "I.......don't.....know." He said the last word very low and slowly. "I gotta go." SLAM! The door shut.

 

Back in Hollow Bastion, Demyx walked along the streets with his hood on so no one would know who he was. All he heard were people screaming at the presence of an organization member in their town. He shrugged as several townspeople closed their doors and locked them. "Oh no Organization XIII! How pathetic," he said quietly as others almost ran through him. He wondered when the gummi ship would return and when it did Sora and his friends would have a huge mess on their hands.

 

Aqua got startled by the sound of the door shutting so loudly. Aqua thought to herself for a while. "Maybe I shouldn't have told him..." Aqua said to herself as she regretted ever telling Riku in the first place. She shook her head as she thought. "Whatever happens, so be it." Aqua said as she left.

 

Riku was leaning on the wall next to Sora. "What's the next world?"

 

Aqua was walking slowly. She didn't know where she walking to exactly. She just needed time to think things through. That is until she bumped into Namine.

"Hey Aqua, so did you tell him?" Namine asked.

Aqua nodded.

Namine felt sorry for both Aqua and Riku. "You do know that-"

"I can't." Aqua said cutting Namine off. She knew what she was going to say.

 

Riku fell to the ground. "Did you know about Aqua?"

Kairi knew what he was talking about. "Yeah I did. She said she wanted to rell you, not us." She said quickly not to anger him.

 

Namine walked up to Aqua and hugged her. "You love him right?"

Aqua burried herself onto Namine's shoulder. "Yea..."

Namine smiled. "Then be with him."

Aqua pushed away and looked at Namine as if she were crazy. "I can't do that. I can't stay here. This isn't my time. I don't belong here. If I don't go back whose gonna stop Master Xehanort?"

 

Riku put his knees to his chest and buried his head in to them. "Why didn't you tell me anyway. It would have saved the pain. I mean there still be pain but not alot of it."

Kairi sat next to him. "It's not that easy." She placed a hand on his shoulder. "Life not fair like that."

Riku glared at Kairi. "Says you."

 

Namine understood. "Your right."

Aqua looked depressed. "I keep hurting him..." Aqua sat on the floor.

"Don't say that."

"Maybe it's best if I just left and prevent him any future pain."

"But he would still be sad if you left." Namine said sitting next to her.

"He deserves better than me."

"Well, let's see, you have Sora, a nice family, friends, and your a good student. I have one parent, three older borhters who thing swrilies are good for their younger brother, and the girl I like is going away sometime soon."

"So what? your just gonna give up?" Namine said in anger

Aqua was taken by surprise by Namine's sudden change in tone. She looked away.

"I guess so, tell Riku I said bye."

Aqua got up and prepared to take her leave... for good.

 

"Riku.....ugh! Why do you have to be difficult?!"

Riku looked away. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean too."
