A Scattered Dream

Xion hesitated, glancing involuntarily at Demyx, then Axel. They had no mercy for Sora, either of them. Why did they have to listen to Xemnas so much? She shuddered, then slowly stood up.

 

Xemnas stared into Kingdom Hearts. "I hope they can take down Sora soon. If not, then both Sora and Xion will be useless."

Sora paced back and forth. "I've gotta find soemone around here. Maybe Xion is around."

 

"All right," Demyx agreed not looking forward to fighting if he had to. He hoped he didn't run into Sora or else more problems would occur and that was not what he wanted.

 

Axel sighed as he noticed they seem to be dragging their feet. "Come on you two. Get going." He ordered, as he knew that Xenmas would be upset if they didn't accomplish the mission. Sure eating ice cream would of been nice, but right now would raise suspicion and the red head wasn't going to take the chance. He pointed to the portal for them to go in.

 

Xion hesitated, then walked in, closing her eyes. All the swirling dark colors made her feel dizzy and sick. She waited till she felt the cold breeze, then opened her eyes. Turning, she saw the guys weren't behind her. What.....Hearing noises, she turned again, and saw him. Sora.

 

Sora thought he felt a presence. "Who's there?" Sora prepared if it was an enemy he would quickly draw out his keyblade.

 

Xion hesitated. "Sora...it's me. Do you remember?" she asked, locking her hands behind her back. She wouldn't fight, and she wouldn't 'touch.

 

Sora turned and saw her. "Xion, it's you." Sora ran over to her. "I missed you. Where did you go? Why did the Organization take you away?"

 

Xion shook her head, her blue eyes masked. "I'm okay. They just wanted things from me, but I'm okay." She looked him over. "Are you? It's been so long, I wasn't sure where you were." She prayed that she had enough time to warn him. "Listen, Sora, the Organization, they're planning something."

 

"I've been all right, Xion. You don't know where Riku or Kairi are, do you?" Sora listened to her. "What are they planning to do?"

 

"I thought they would be with you..They want to kill you, I think. I don't know much more, no one trusts me, but you have to get out of here before they find out I told you. I can't let you die, kay? You just have to find Riku and Kairi and run."

 

"No, I'll take on the Organization. No more running. Xion, come with me. I'll protect you." Sora extended his hand toward her.

 

Xion hesitated, looking down at her own gloved hand. "I'll just put you in more danger, though. I'll just be a burden, a liability." She gently took his hand in hers, smiling sadly. "I'll be okay."

 

Demyx wasn't so sure if the portal led them else where or a different place, but he remembered Axel telling him to get going. "Where is Xion?" He looked over his shoulder and did not see her anywhere. "Oh no. Don't tell me we lost her."

 

"Please Xion, I want you to come with me. I want to have you with me so I know your safe." Sora was concerned for his friend. He didn't want to just leave her.

 

She looked over her shoulder, wondering how much time she had left. "Sora...you were asleep in Castle Oblivion for two years, and you don't remember any of it. Namine was putting you back together, but somehow Xemnas got ahold of your memories too...he....made me from them. I'm as much of you as your memories are."

 

Sora pondered on Xion's words. "I've never been to a Castle Oblivion. And Namine never put me back or stuff like that. And your saying your my memories. How can you be me?"

 

She shook her head. "I'm not you. I'm your memories, or a replica...."Replica. "That's why I look so much like Kairi. That's why I can't touch you." She glanced back again. How much longer? "Please, Sora, you have to go."

 

"My replica? So as long as I'm around you, you could disappear. I want to help you Xion. How can I stop it so you and I can see each other and you won't go away?"

 

Xion slowly shook her head, her eyes on the ground. "I don't know....nothing like me has ever been created, they said. I don't know what I'm supposed to do..." She looked up, hiding the pain and smiling brightly. "I wanted you to know the truth. So you can be okay."
