A Scattered Dream

Just when he was about to agree, he paused and froze in place to see Xemnas appear before all of them. Quickly he stopped what he was doing and gulped hoping Xemnas didn't see him nuzzling Axel.

 

Xemnas looked at them. "I think Sora is close to finding his friends. We need to keep them apart."

 

Demyx stood in front of Xion so Xemnas wouldn't notice her as much. He looked at Axel and then back at the boss. "Do you know where they are at?"

 

"They're in Hollow Bastion. Can I trust you to deal with Sora?"

Sore summond his keyblade and dueled off with a swarm of unbirths.

 

Xion shivered, then backed up, hiding behind Axel and Demyx. The leader scared her, scared her with his unfeeling eyes and emotionless ways. She breathed in and out, trying to stay calm, and failing.

 

Demyx nodded relunctly for if he refused what would the boss think? "I guess, but if I'm the only one you have then I have no choice." He was not looking forward to dealing with the punk kid with the keyblade as he hated to fight. Perhaps he could just distract Sora and then think of something else afterwards. "Boss, can Axel come with me?"

 

OoC: Can I rejoin as Vexen?

 

Xemnas walked and turned his head slightly. "Of course. And Xion goes as well." Xemnas disappeared to the Alter of Naught.

OOC: Yes, you may my friend.

 

Axel was shocked to see Xenmas just appear in front of them like that and nodded his head. "Okay, let's go pursue Sora," he replied to Demyx and Xion and made a portal appear as he entered it. He was kind of disappointed that they couldnt' go get ice cream, but duty was first.

 

Sora sliced through the 1st wave of unbirths but then an army of neoshadows appeared. "You gotta be kidding me!"

 

Xion stood there, shaking, unsure of what to do. "I don't want to hurt Sora..." she whispered, her blue eyes full of indecision. What was she going to do? She promised she wouldnt' run away...

 

"All right let's go," Demyx followed Axel making sure Xion was with them. "Hey Axel, I can provide a distraction to the guy and then you can handle the rest. How does that sound?"

 

Axel made sure that the other two were behind as he nodded his head. "Just like you Demyx to never do the dirty work, but good ahead," He kept careful watch on Xion. "Oh come on you said that you wanted to fight, so lets go do it for old times sake?" He asked her. The portal opened to have them seeing Sora fighting Neo Shadows.

 

Xion shivered, looking from one friend to the other. She couldn't fight him...not him. Anyone but him and Kairi. Her big blue eyes searched for some way, anyway. Then she knew. She quietly summoned the key blade, looking down. "Alright..." then she slashed at Axel, aiming for the nonlethal blow that would only stun him.

 

Axel was taken back when he felt a key blade make contact with his body. It only stunned him, but still he was suspicious. "Xion, why did you do that?" He asked her. He had no clue on why she had did on purpose or accidently. Either way he needed to question her on it.

 

She smiled sadly as she drew back, then went in for the blow that would render him unconscious. "I can't fight him, Axel. I can't touch him, I can't go near him." She moved quickly, dodging the left, then swinging.

 

Axel seem more puzzled now, but he guessed she would rather fight him then. "I didn't say you had to fight him. I wouldn't want Sora to kill you," he avoided her keyblade as he summoned his own weapons for his own defense. He thought that she was playing with him right now.

 

She stopped, still holding the keyblade. "You don't get it. If he even touches me, I'll disappear. Die. Be lost." Her eyes were bright with unshed tears. "I can't touch a real human, I'll go insane. I can only touch you, because you're a nobody." She shook her head, trying to clear her vision. "I can't do this."

 

Axel lowered his weapons as he listened to Xion express how she felt and the truth. In the back of his mind he had a feeling that she had a connection to something, but couldn't figure it out. "Then I will get you away from here," He answered. "Though why Xenmas want to do this..."

 

She shook her head, laughing bitterly. "Xemnas created me." she said finally, her eyes dull. "Haven'tyou figured it out yet? I'm just memories created from Sora. Thats' why I look like this." She gestured. "I don't have a thing that's just me."
