Kingdom Hearts II A Riku centered game?

It would be a good idea sometime i get tired of playing a sora and have to use codes to play riku

 

This. She should at least be playable in a future game. (I'm a bit disappointed she wasn't unlockable in 358/2 Days mission mode)
For god's sake, she has a keyblade.


Also, this was probably said before, but I'm too lazy to dig through six pages - Riku DID have his own game - Reverse/Rebirth.

 

Yes, she should be playable. And then she gets herself kidnapped again.

 

We pretty much know everything that happened with everyone in the first Kingdom Hearts and a little bit more from the help of Final Mix.

 

Well, strictly speaking, we don't know if she was able to USE a Keyblade until she met up with Riku/Ansem and TWTNW near the end of KH2, so she might not be able to use a Keyblade in the time span that 358/2 Days covered. Plus, she forgot about Sora for most of the time in which the game was set, so she might have lost the ability then if she already had it.

 

Either that, or since she had a pure heart maybe she would still be able to use one?

I would love to see a game centered on Kairi in the future. Or at least, a KH3 or something that had a choice between the 3 characters....Heck, maybe even the choice to choose to play as either Sora/Riku/Kairi as the main character with the other two as sub characters like Donald and Goofy from the start.​

 

Before BBS and 358/2 Days were released, I had wanted a filler game with Riku and Kairi as party members instead of Donald and Goofy, and have the plot be about them needing to rescue them or something.

 

I think it would be great and he is a big charater but making a game through his perspective sounds more like a mini game in my opinion. It should be like Kingdom Hearts Re:CoM Remix when he had his own perspective in then castle.
If they make a full game of Riku it would be Renamed. Riku does have enough problems for his own plot but not enough for his own FULL game.

 

That would be awesome if they came out with a Riku-centered game. Like a lot of people have said above, there's a lot we still don't know about him. I'd like to see KH1&2 from his perspective. There's still a lot that needs to be explained when it comes to Riku.

 

For all of Nomura's will to tell us more about him, he's withholding far too much about him. We still know basically nothing about what happened to Riku between Reverse-Rebirth and - hell, the end of KH2. The bread crumbs they threw at us during Days are just about nothing, but he's effectively the plot for the series. He's what got Sora to react during KH1, was the reason for Sora to even come to CO and had his own scenario in CoM, and well, no need to explain KH2. The goal was to find him and we got to see him here and there.
But we know NOTHING about what really went on with him.
When did he get the Blindfold? Why? How? When did he ditch Mickey? How did he find Namine and Diz in TLTW? what did he do during the times Sora was still asleep? Where was he during KH2 aside from lurking?

God dammit Nomura. You had BETTER make that Mystery KH game you're planning which isn't KH3 be about Riku.

 

TLTW? Also, Riku found Namine and Diz in Castle Oblivion, they just probably moved or something. A bit through days, he was dealing with Xion and the organization. Before that, most likely lurking.

If he DOES make the Mystery KH game about Riku, It had better be from his disappearance in KH1 all the way to what he was doing before he rejoined Sora in KH2.

 

Twilight Town. It's an official abbreviation from inside the game XD; written on the station, I believe.

I know that. But then he set out with Mickey, ditched Mickey, and then found them again. So what was up with that.

I think Mickey might've gone back to the castle or went into hiding.

Er, well. Probably fending off the rest of the organization and nobodies. So lurking, whether we like it or not, may be the exact answer.

They did Days because Nintendo wanted a game for the DS. If they were asked to make another game and the console fit the whacked plot concept Nomura would come up with - it'll happen.

 

Don't bet on it... It's not that easy to make a game just because they want to have it on another console.

 

Never said making a game is easy. But it doesn't seem like Nomura needs the best of reasons to come up with more KH games. More like excuses.

I definately agree that Riku is a more interesting character then Sora was. He has a darker side, and is more like a normal human, having his battles with the blacker parts of the soul, so to speak. Unlike Sora, who never seems to hate or feel anger, and whose a good little boy, Riku didn't go the path that he was supposed to, and used the darkness to try and help his friends instead.

I think the battle system would be interesting, if we were following his time while he was in the darkness. He would be able to function like a Nobody with a more powerful weapon, like Roxas in fact. They could even add in a reaction command to portal behind enemies at a certain point.

Bottom line, I would support a game about Riku all the way.

 

What the- dude. Go play CoM/Re:CoM. And I mean now. Because if after you play those you still let yourself say what you said, you're just not paying attention. Quite a bit of KH2 too. If Sora doesn't hate Marluxia, Larxene and Xehanort, no one hates anyone. And if him ditching Donald and Goofy in CoM/Re:CoM wasn't an anger attack, I never saw one ever.
