Due to much argument, I have decided to remove the picture. I am sencearly sorry to those of whom that I argued with. I am hoping that I can be forgiven, and I am willing to forgive others if they would accept it.

If you would like to see other images by me, please contact me.

I am sorry for the inconvenience.

    BTW, I can't spell. XD

The perspective AND architecture doesn't work at all here, lol. It's not bad, but still needs a whole lot more work on still.

At the stage you're at, I say you should just keep on practising drawing, but from real life.

I've done better pictures... There are many, like this one, that I am not proud of. But, I have drawn quite a few that are actually good.

That's great Silver, but it's not a matter of being proud of a drawing, it's a matter of grasping the right technique. Just by looking at the drawing, I can about identify at what stage you're in, and it's quite clear to me that you're still lacking experience.

    This isn't supposed to be an insult, let's be clear on that! I'm on the contrary trying to encourage ya to just keep on drawing. Just carry on practicing drawing, and eventually you'll get better. Kay? (;

... Listen... I don't think you have seen all of my work, okay? I'm not saying that I'm professional, I've seen people that are a heck of alot better than I am. But as I said, you haven't seen all of my work.

I know where you are coming from. This isn't the greatest picture you would hope to see.

Not to insult you or amnything but the advice she gave was actually correct.
And when you have some drawing experience (like she has a LOT of) you can actually see what stage another artist is on.
Sure some of your other drawings could have been a little better, but you can pretty much know your level even though. Some drawings are better than others.
    You should listen to her advice, and just keep on drawing and you will get better (;

    *Sigh* just... Yeah...

Nevermind. Should've followed my gut... I shouldn't have posted it, then.

Only because someone give you an advice doesn't mean that you shouldn't post your work.
It's actually smart to post your work, that way you can get adivce on it and improve.

I already use the advice. I used it before I got it. I am actually constantly drawing. But that's not what I'm arguing about.

This is what bewilders me: How a person can judge how good a person is at art by just one picture. It's like judging a person by how they look. My freind knows a guy that looks like a red neck, but he's like a college professor or something. Even if their art is better than mine, it doesn't men that they can correctly judge my level of art.

I'm sorry, but... It's the truth.

    What she said.

I'm not sure what you expected when you posted your work here. o_o I'm giving you advice and you take it badly - what sort of comments did you want? The ones that inflate your ego?

*Points at last post* I draw alot. I keep working at it. I am always asking "What should I draw?" if I have a pad of paper and a pencil in my hand. I'm sorry that i over-reacted. I just wasn't expecting anyone to judge how good I was at art.

What I mean is, you can't judge a book by it's cover. You have to look into it. I've faced that with many things-even Kingdom Hearts.

Truly sorry for over-reacting. I was expecting criticism. It isn't all nice. As I said, I can pick out many things that could have been better. Like, the quality of the stairs, the proportions, the positions, and the profiles. I could go on. But, oh well...

It is possible to guess ca a persons level out of a drawing if you did it recently.
You can do that by looking how good you are with accuracy proportions and technical stuff.
And when you post here you have to be knowing that you might get some advise you may not like, because we give out real critisism here not just comments for your ego. No offense at all (:
And it doesn't matter if you over reacted a bit.
If you want to know more about CnC's (comments & critique) on this forum you either go to Darky's tread in the arts & graphics section that is named 'the elements of CnC'. Or my tread 'CnC reminder' that just points out a few things.

No this wasn't meant to harrass or harm you at all.

Yeah, I posted right before you did so I didn't really catch it.

Uuum, *what?* What do you mean you can't "judge a book by it's cover" - that's EXACTLY what you do in art, lol. When it comes up to technique, anyway. You don't look INTO technique per se, you analyze to see if it's RIGHT. And that my dear, is called judging. There's probably some wrong terminology there but whatever.

No offense to you or anything, but it doesn't take a genius to know you can't whip up sh!t like Da Vinci could. That's what I meant by level. :/ I never said I could pinpoint EXACTLY your stage, I just said I had a rough idea of your level.

EDIT: Argh sh!t, Kairi beeeat meh. >_>

Still... I find it judging a book by it's cover. But that's my opinion. What I mean is, it often takes more than one picture to really tell how good one person is. I'm just not used to such big images. But, I must get used to it, especially if I am to create a manga.

I've faced criticism before. I critisise myself alot. And by an evil art teacher. She is very evil. She thinks that if she has a degree in art that she's better than everyone else.

If you would listen, it wasn't as much the advice. It was how the person put it. It was that they judged my level of art by one picture.

    Sorry... Getting tense again.

Edit: Well, this is one big mess... I'm sorry for over-reacting. Let's move on with our lives shall we?

But... I did start off on the wrong side, I guess... Heh... I'm sorry.

Okay you're seriously starting to piss me off now.

YES, I can just ABOUT judge your level in terms of technique with one picture. I will reiterate - JUST ABOUT. And, no offense to you, it doesn't take an absolute genius to realise you need more experience and practise in drawing. NOR does it take a genius to figure you can't create the next epic Art piece like Van Gogh or Michaelangelo could. That's what I meant by 'level'. >>://// It's exactly like looking at a decent artwork that you yourself admit 'is good', or looking at one which is bad. The amount of experience can be felt/seen through an art piece~ and while I admit that seeing/having several works by the same person will help pinpoint the artist's level, you can still grasp a rough idea of the experience from a single art piece.

    I BLOODY SAY ROUGH.

EDIT: Kay, now I feel stupid. Should've just dropped the damn thing.

Well sorry! I know I'm not nearly as good as them! I probably will never be! I have my own style of art. I get your point! How about this: I take off the picture and drop the whole thing? Will that make it better? What I am trying to say is that I have drawn more recent and a teensy bit better drawings. Sure, I have alot of room for improvement, and I realize that. I'm not scared to admit I'm not the best artist in the world, and I am a fool to strive to be. Nobody is the best at anything, for there is always an equal.

Now. If we can drop the whole thing and start over with a friendly "hello," I'd be glad to.

I wasn't bloody talking about whether you were good or not, I was trying to set straight what I meant by 'how I could judge your level', since you so keenly stated was downright impossible.

    But yes, let's drop it.
