A Metal Gear Solid movie?

Okay, as Sony fans know, MGS is like, the most epic game ever. Epic in the sense that it's awesome, but also in the literal meaning. Such as, it has a vast story and is huge overall and it's mainly just an interactive movie. Now, I was surfing Wikipedia one day, and came across a little sub-article on David Hayter's page about a possible Metal Gear Solid movie.

Now, I know we can't trust wikipedia 100%, but then I got curious and went to Internet Movie Data Base(www.imdb.com) to see if there was any verification.

Now, if you read over that page, it says that it has been announced, apparently. It's going to be directed by Kurt Wimmer and the script shall be written by Hideo Kojima. I'm not going to get my hopes up, because there is always the chance that this could be a lie posted by someone, or it might be real and go belly-up. But I'd like to know your guys' opinions. Do you think the movie would be successful? I believe so, since it's being written and supervised by Kojima.

And in case you're wondering, the IMDB page was updated March 22, 2009. I'll put up more information when it becomes available.

I've heard of it but as far as I've seen it hasn't been confirmed. If it did work it would probably be really cool.

I want Christian Bale as Snake. I don't give a **** what you say, he looks the part although he has a slightly softer face. Also I want Sean Bean as Liquid.

The movie is going to encompass the first Metal Gear Solid movie. All the things that happened at Shadow Moses. They're considering Alaska(go figure) for the shooting site.

Well, I heard that Kojima will be helping out with the movie. And he is a perfectionist. So here's hoping they don't ruin it.

I've actually got quite high expectations for this movie. While it is not being directed by Kojima, he is supervising it. He won't let Hollywood make a shitfest out of this(Granted, I'm assuming they've already started production :lolface:).

 

I just don't think Christian Bale is badass enough to pull it off.

 

Well, who do you recommend, then? I think Christian has the build for Snake, but I don't think he's the kind of person suited for a movie about espionage.

 

I don't know, maybe like David Hayter, Josh Holloway or something. Eric Bana looks just like him. I'm sure there's someone better than those. Maybe Bale could be him cause of his acting ability. He was sorta badass in Dark Knight, just not Snake badass, but maybe. I guess we'll just wait and see.

It's actually a Warcraft based movie. It's set one year before World of Warcraft, and they have a 100 million$ Budget.
Seems it has more chance of coming out than MGS.
