A Life to Lead ^_^

Cloud losing focus on the Turks was caught unaware of seeing Tifa until he felt her hold upon him. "Tifa? What is wrong? Is it Aerith?" He was concerned and looked into her eyes. "Please tell me that she is okay?"

Demyx let his words sink into Larxene's head and then he decided it was best to leave. He had said what he needed to say and now it was all up to her. "Larxene just think about what I said," he gave her a hug not facing the idea if she was gone from his life if Xemnas had her destroyed or banished. One of his tears fell upon her cloak as he let go and wrote a letter for her and placed it in her pocket. "Please don't get yourself killed. I care about you. We will meet up again and talk some more." He admitted as the same thing was on a note card for her as well and was kept safe in her pocket. Conjuring a dark void, he left sadly out of her view and traveled elsewhere in the same world.

 

Tifa watched him. "Do you know what happens when she uses her power?" she demanded, catching her breath. "She takes it from the lifestream, the power of the planet. So if someone would hurt her, or worst, kill her, during the times she was using power, that power would have to go somewhere." She felt her eyes wide with fear at the thought of it.

 

Cloud's eyes were now wide and he knew exactly what Tifa was referring to. "No we can not have another disaster like that again. Thinking back just boils my blood and not to make matters worse Sephiorth is now a heartless and he has a nobody of his own and it's all my fault." His blue eyes cast to the ground and he fought hard not to get angry or to feel sorry for himself. "I have to have a clear and level head to deal with this if what you say is true Tifa."

Appearing in the very village, Demyx walked up to one of the shops and spotted something he wanted to eat. He was hungry and to much drama had prevented him from eating a lunch. Taking out the form of currency from his pocket, he bought a huge chocolate chip cookie with white vanilla chips in it and a carton of ice cold milk. Taking the items graciously, he sat at the nearest table and began to munch on the sweet.

 

Tifa looked away, closing her eyes. "I can't help you with that, can I? Because you won't let me." She turned away, sighing. "I'm going to go back to Aerith. She's sick, but she saved Xion. Tell your other friend that." she started to walk away, knowing she'd regret being so harsh later.

 

"Tifa wait!" He called to her. Spying on the Turks had to wait for Aerith needed him. "I'm going back with you. If we see my friend I'll tell him, but right now my attention is on you and her." He stood by her side and glanced at Leon. "Leon, Aerith needs us. You should come too."

Satisfied with his giant cookie, he poured his milk into a glass that was given to him by the clerk and dipped his cookie into it. Savoring each bite, he licked his lips getting all of the crumbs that were there. The dessert was warm and fresh as it had just come right out of the oven. "Mmmm... this is just what I needed." He took another bite, the sweet auroma filling his stomach with each swallow. "I wish we had stuff like this at home." He had not even eaten half of it yet, as he watched some butterflies land on a nearby bench.

 

She glanced sideways at him, then sighed, and nodded. "Do what you wish, I'm not your mother." Bending down towards the ground, she jumped into the air, to land on a rooftop, and started walking toward home. He could follow if he wished. He probably hadn't even missed her, honestly. Besides, Aerith was important.

 

Deciding that there was nothing else to do, the flurry had decided that he was sick of spending time at an desolute area of Hallow Bastion. He figured maybe he could find Larxene himself or maybe Reno. His assasins were already doing the work for him, but it seem to suspicous anyway. He didn't want them to involve themselves in combat at all. After all Demyx was busy with his appointment and didn't want to rain on his parade. The melodious noturne needed time to himself. Though Axel hope that he wasn't hanging around Cloud. That evil manipulator seem to have his friend around his finger. Shrugging to himself the flurry made a portal for himself and entered the town of Hallow Bastion. He starred at all of the other people who just glance at him, but did not run away. They just went along their daily business. He was looking for Larxene and Reno, but had no idea where they gone were. The town was very crowed, but it shouldn't be that hard to find a guy with googles on his head. Sighing with disappointment he saw something that caught his fancy eyed an ice cream stand and gave the vender some munny and the individual handed him sea salt ice cream. Afterwards he continued looking.

Roxas smiled slightly as he rubbed her belly. He couldn't believe he was going to become a father. He maybe young, but he wasn't going to abandon her even if things go stressful. "Xion, you should really take an easy," he whispered as he kissed her on the forehead.

Leon nodded his head as he followed suit once again. He felt safer being with Cloud in the meantime. Aerith was also his friend as well so of course he was worried about her. He looked at Tifa wondering what she was going to do. "So do you guys know where she would be?" He asked

 

Cloud watched Tifa depart from him and he wondered if it was something he had said? Why was she avoiding him all of a sudden? "My guess is that she is back at the house." He answered his friend and walked along the busy streets of Hollow Bastion.

Deciding to save the rest of the cookie for later, he got a napkin from the dispenser, wrapped it several times and placed it in his pocket. Drinking the rest of his milk, he had a milk mustache and wiped it away with the back of his glove. Stretching his arms he yawned, glad that the cookie had hit the spot and he was kind of lethargic as it was digesting inside of him. Yawning outloud again, he thought about taking a well deserved nap in a nice shady spot perhaps in the water even. Walking away from the shop, his senses located that of Axel which perked him up. Following the nobody's trail he got up to his friend and slapped his hand on his back. "You won't believe what just happened Axel? My interview went great. Did you hear me at all?"

Axel was about to bite into his ice cream when he felt someone slap him in the back. It almost caused him to choke. Turning around roughly his eyes narrowed until he saw that it was in fact Demyx. The expression of annoyance seem to go away replaced with casuality. Why didn't nobodies instincts alert him. Probably because he had let them down. Next time it could be a mistake. "Damn it Demyx! Don't sneak up on me," he scolded him somewhat. "What? Yeah I heard you. Everyone knows that you have a great voice, but why are you involving yourself in human affairs?" He asked him smiling casually.

Leon nodded as he started whistling a tune as he followed his friend and gazed at all of the other people. "Cloud, this is like looking for a needle in a hay stack," He muttered sighing.

 

The blond warrior couldn't agree more, but it was to help out his friend that would soon be gone. The thought of losing her made him look down at the ground. "She has to be back at the place. There is not a moment to lose," he raced back to the location.

Demyx hestinatly laughed feeling very sheepish over the whole thing. He was excited that he was going to actually going to make a postive difference in the town and help his friends at the same time. "Oh Axel," Demyx took a bite out of his icecream that made his mouth pucker a bit for he wasn't used to the taste, "Um as I was saying. Bleck what do you and Roxas see in that stuff? It's awful." He stuck out his tongue, placed his hand over his mouth and revealed his power washing the taste out of his mouth as he spit off to the side. "That's better. So um... Oh yeah to answer your question it is for the munny. I'll be able to help support Roxas and Xion with their buddle of joy, be able to pay what I owe Cloud and Leon for having them work for us and not to mention have some extra spending munny on the side. I see that as an answer to some of our problems not to mention I'm starting to feel more like who I was before and Axel you can have some munny too if you want to help me in anyway. I'll let you know." He leaned against his friend and grinned at him. "Oh boy I think I had to much sugar," he pulled out of his pocket and revealed the cookie offereing some to Axel.

 

Axel frowned a bit when he noticed that Demyx had bit into his ice cream. However, when Demyx then spit it out as well he snickered a bit. "I didn't like the taste at first, but it is good when you get used to it. Kinda grows on you," he added. He took a bite out of it and then starred at Demyx as he covered his mouth as he didn't want him to spit out alot of things to these passing people. "Be careful of what you say, you never know what kind of spies could be listening," He whispered to him, though he then went back to his normal tone. "I already believed that you were some kind of rock musican back then, but for me I don't know what I was," He sighed as he snatched the cookie offering and began eating it. "In your words I am a murderous monster remember," he let him know that it hurt to be called that softly as he protrayed the way Demyx had said it to him. It had hurt him emotionally as he thought about it.

Leon sighed as he rolled his eyes and began to run after Cloud following him once again to the location that the other man was heading.

 

Cloud stopped so Leon could catch up as he didn't want to lose him in the crowd. "Leon do you want me to slow down? I have a habit of using my speed when I shouldn't."

Demyx then remembered he did say something like that, but he didn't know Axel was listening? Feeling bad, he gave him a hug to show him there were no hard feelings between them. He had seen other people do it before so it must of meant that it was a way of apolgizing. "Axel, I didn't mean to call you that and I'm sorry you thought that. No you're different then the rest. You understand me for one thing and you're my superior as I am your underling, but most of all you are one of my best friends." He nuzzled his head to him remembering he had seen animals and people doing that as well as it was a sign of comfort. Demyx didn't understand what else it meant and how could he for he was a nobody devoid of any feelings and would only act upon what he remembered and saw from his past life and his life now. Demyx took another bite from the cookie that he had offered Axel and showed a sad smile. "I know you feel left out and I don't want you to feel that way so I want you to help me if you want to. It would mean the world to me," he nuzzled him again.

 

Xion closed her eyes, and smiled gently, leaning her head on his chest. She still felt sleepy...maybe she should rest, just in case. "I know, but I want to help too." she murmured, pressing closer to his warmer body. She sometimes wondered why she was always colder then others.

OOC: Aerith is asleep again, in one of those tired, sickish sleepies.

BIC: Tifa darted along the roofs, thinking. Maybe she should just..no, Aerith wanted her here. Aerith knew, but she still wanted her here. Besides, Xion was only a kid, and going to be a mom. She would need help, especially if the Nobodies' leader took interest in her. She would stay.

 

"Hey, its me ..give me a call back, I want to take you out somewhere tonight.." Reno said through the phone, letting it take his message.He wondered if she was dealing with Xemnas or someone threatening to her, but was anyone besides Xemnas a threat to her? Not likely.He shut the phone and pocketed it within his suit again.Well, he'd wait a while, and then call again ..if it failed, he'd search for her."All right ..I'll give it a while, and then-" he looked around, finding her gone from his side.He rubbed the back of his head, running his fingers through his hair."Don't tell me she got jealous again-"

"Reno, come here!" Elena whispered to him as she popped out from behind a corner.She beckoned him hastily and raised a finger to her lips so he'd stay quiet.Once he came over with an eyebrow raised, she lead him away from the shop and back behind another building."Stay quiet ..look and listen." she whispered in his ear as she pressed her back against the brick wall until she reached the very corner.Peering over the corner she spotted Axel and Demyx, looking away from the area they were in.She quickly hid her head again and looked to Reno, who had took a peek as well."I got the names and the description is easy enough ..they stick out."

"All right ..don't report just yet ..I'll probably need to question Axel soon." Reno responded as he peered from behind the corner again for just a split second, then pulled away.

"..How did you know his-"


"Long story ..and odds are that they'll find us ..call Rude and Tseng, tell them to meet us by the old duck's ice cream shop."

"But what about-"

"All right, him too then .."

Nodding, Elena tip-toed away from the corner and headed back towards Scrooge's shop, dialing Rufus' number first.She waited for him to pick up, and sure enough he did so."Sir, me and Reno have found a couple of the killers ..one of them has red hair and resembles Reno, enough that its scary.And the other is particularly childish with a mullet for a hairstyle ..we're near Scrooge's Ice Cream shop, can you meet us there?"

"Yes,Good work, but do not engage ..wait for us to get there so we may talk.Rude and Tseng are here with me now ..we're on our way." Rufus replied, shutting his cell phone and resting back in his wheelchair.Rude and Tseng glanced at each other."You heard her ..lets move." Rude got behind his chair and pushed him along while Tseng followed closely beside him.

"Now we wait.." Reno patted Elena on the shoulder before passing her and heading back toward Scrooge's shop.Elena tagged along behind him.

 

Staring at the card in her hands, Larxene closed her eyes slowly. In a way, the Nocturne was right. She shouldn't have the phone. She shouldn't be in the situation that she was, and most of all, she shouldn't feel the love she did for Reno.
That brought her to the question. The ever-longing question, howling in the back of her mind like a raging wolf. Could she actually feel love?
With another small sigh, she looked around. Nobody was here, and she was alone in a street in the middle of Hollow Bastion.
With great care, she sat herself down onto the floor, and leant back against the wall of a building behind her.
Again, the question rang its bell and echoed around her mind. She would have to face it, she couldn't feel love at all. Heck, there was barely a person - or nobody - out there that she actually felt a mutual relationship between. She liked the attention she recieved, and that was the inevitable fact of any situation she was placed in. She liked power, control and attention. All of those just happened to be sent to her in the neat little packages that were Reno and Demyx.
it wasn't a matter of choosing, perse, it was more of a logical think-through of her options.

She could still feel the paper moving around in the pocket of her jacket, and for some obscure reason, it was still warm after the minutes it was left there after the Nocturne had slipped it into the compartment.
A hint of curiosity flared, forcing her to wonder for a moment what was scrawled on the paper. But no, she would read that later; now was for thinking. Thinking and hoping.

 

"..On second thought, I'm going to look for her ..since I know everything, start without me." Reno patted Elena's shoulder again before turning around and running off in the opposite direction.He took careful steps to make sure he wasn't visible by Axel the friendly guy and Demyx the tard with no singing ability.He went around town for many minutes until finally he spotted Larxene huddled by a wall, and for some reason she looked rather ..down.It was as if that night they met returned.

Worried, he turned and headed toward her, taking advantage of the fact that no one was around to interrupt them."..Hey ..Larxene, what's wrong?" he asked, stopping in front of her and extending his hand down at her, hoping to get her on her feet.

 

Looking up at the man before her, it took a moment for Larxene to acknowlege that it was Reno stood there. Instantly, she was on her feet, huddled into his warm embrace. He was so.. Secure, for some reason. She has sensed the worry in his tone, but that didn't put her off from hugging his body tightly.
"I was hoping you would come..." She muttered into his suit, before letting him go. She brushed herself down, and stepped back a meter or so to let her mind settle back into the present, rather than in some distant place it was in a moment earlier.
"Sorry about hanging up on you.." She lied blatenly, keeping her sincere eyes locked with his. Her voice still held a slight edge to it, but nothing that was too noticable. "I dropped it, and on the after-thought, I realised that it had to be disposed of before any of the others seen it; we aren't permitted anything like a cellphone, and if found with one, would result in my.. Extermination." She winced slightly, but still kept her eye contact. He had to beleive her... Right?

 

"..." now, Reno was willing to believe her, but if she was so afraid of Xemnas then why didn't she just say so before? He watched her carefully with hesitance in his eyes.However, before he reacted he turned his back on her and pulled out his cellphone, dialing a number and putting it to his ear.Once he got a response, Reno acknowledged."Yo, be sure to disconnect the phone we gave Larxene so its unusable ..apparently she got rid of it..later." Reno shut it with a small jerk of his hand and placed it in his suit pocket again before looking back towards her."..What happened after I left ..you said something about a bad time before it took me to leaving you a message." that's right, he didn't forget. She disconnected quick, and didn't even say goodbye or anything of the sort.It wasn't like her at all.

"If you were afraid of having it, you wouldn't have picked up, right?..You could have told me ahead of time before 'tossing' it ..come on, be real with me.What's on your mind?"

 

He wanted the truth, didn't he? Well, the truth was going to sting him more that it stung Larxene herself.
"...Demyx is on my mind." She blurted, her voice small compared to when she was bluffing and bullshitting her way through excuses.
She stood, looking at the redhead with all the belittlement she had been strung down to. How would he react? This couln't possibly come down to them fighting, could it?
Of course not.. Demyx wouldn't be the one coming between them. Nothing would.
