A Life to Lead ^_^

Axel did not let go of the guy that he held against the wall and only continued to crush him more into it. He didn't care of what he was saying. There was no trust for him. He was surprised that he was the only nobody that had witnessed him first. Were the others more oblivious. "Well, lets, see to show proof that he recruited you. I will let you figure that part out by yourself for all I know you could of been working for someone who stuck a black cloak on you. We do know that our enemy has connections, especially his wizard friends. "I am convinced that you are a spy though your unemotionless stance is not something that wil save yourself." He knew that Roxas might have been confused as well, and wanted to know who he had recruited. However, he waited to see if this amateur or fake could back up his words.

 

Aerith stopped, her eyes closed. Sadness almost overwhelmed her, making tears flood her eyes. She took a deep breath and moved into a shadowy alley, setting down her basket and clasping her hands together. She prayed for whatever soul had left this world, and for her friends. Her comm link buzzed. She took it out, furrowing her eyebrows as she read the message. "Hope your okay." she murmured.

 

Zexion looked at the sleeping Lex. Everything seemed peaceful. It was nice a quiet, there was no wierd nosie coming from Vexen's lab, and no keyblade master to interagte. Mabye this would be the life of a nobody intill they had hearts. 'This is would be very nice if it was like this.'

 

Demyx was kneeling on his knees, his head down as the one who was his dancer and a small girl had vanished before his eyes. "No! I can't believe she's gone. She never even had a chance," he slammed his fists to the ground attempting to be strong. "I want you to try again. I want her back," He stood up and faced Xemnas. "I was going to show her so many things. It's not right. I was going to actually have someone look up to me, some one I can teach, but now..." He couldn't finish his sentence.

Cloud stood up, his head down as he felt the comfort from Leon's touch. "I tried and I thought I could make a difference. If I couldn't save her from the darkness or from what ever happened to her then I really am falling more into the darkness," he said to Leon. He starred at Demyx shaking his head. "She's not coming back."

 

Which is why I said we needed more hearts. You, on the other hand, wanted an example. You wanted a test. You wanted prove. This is what happens when I entertain your wishes. Now we are out a dancer and a soul has been deconstructed. All the blame is placed squarely on you shoulders. Remember that and learn from it.

 

Mixt stared at Demyx confused at the nobodies logic. "Please tell me your not in the research branch. She had a breif moment of life but her given heart wasn't able to sustain it so she rapidly died again. So now she is a nobody once more. Due to the energy involved I would imagine it was down graded to a dusk though. I have not seen enough trials to determine that though. She could still be a dancer or she could be gone. In fact, when accounting for chaos theory there is a slim chance that she actually gained power from the incident"

 

Demyx didn't want to come to terms of what Xemnas was saying. What kind of consequence was this? He swore the boss had unusual ways to get his point across. And unforuntely a nobody was lost in the process. He glared at Mixt and then looked away choosing to focus his attention on Xemnas. "No! I do not need any more blame. You're the one that did this to her not me. You're the one that did the ritual," he cupped his hands over his face. "How could you? You knew what was going to happen all along didn't you?" He took his hands away from his face and gripped his fingers. "You should have never done such a thing if you knew what would be the outcome."

Cloud tried to keep his anger in check, his fingers gripping the hilt of his sword tighter. "She did not deserve that and you know it. You should never do that with any of your subordinates. I've seen enough," Cloud growled underneath his throat, inhaling and exhaling, as he closed his eyes to calm himself down.

 

Then tell me, how would I have gotten you to understand what you must do? I had only tried it on dusks before and the results were promising. Attempting to perform it on a dancer was a stretch of what the tests showed. Still, it doesn't change the matter of the situation. You didn't trust me. Of all nobodies, you should trust me the most.

 

Cloud stepped forward ignoring Mixt of what he spoke of his fists clenched as he starred at Xemnas. He could not stand here without saying anything any more. He wasn't made like that. His problem was with Xemnas not Mixt. "Why so you and the rest of your so called family can make him feel like dirt? "Enough! Stop making him feel bad. He has more heart than your whole organization combined. If anything he will get his heart back before any of you because he acts like he cares and gives a damn about others. You all should learn from him, especially Axel and Larxene the ones who tried to kill my friend Leon and I." He looked at the moon and then at Xemnas, hatred for him building by the moment. "He actually went out of his way to help someone he didn't even know. He offered to help me find Leon and I work and when you refused he gave me his own munny in return for he felt sorry for my situation. He's the only nobody in this cloaked gang that gives a damn about others besides his own self."

Demyx stood still, frozen like a block of ice not believing Cloud was standing up for him. No one had ever done that for him in his life. He was now concerned for Cloud's safety as he let the words sink in. "I don't know what to say?" He said to both Xemnas and Cloud.

 

Mixt shook his head at Cloud. "Like you're one to talk. You slay heartless left and right. But suddenly killing nobodies is wrong? And perhaps you never properly learned, but nobodies don't have hearts, no emotions, no morals. What matters is what furthers our goals, and that is what sets us appart from humans. Which path is better is hard to say. We aren't burdened by emotions but are not uplifted by them either. We are not angered when we fail and joyus when we succed. And that in itself is what drives many of us into a common goal, finding our heart. Now, if we follow worst case and say she was destroyed entirely, then what does that one life ammount to when you consider the millions of lives to be created when we find our answer?"

 

Xemnas turned to cloud

To be honest boy, if anything I would feel envious of that dancer. It was able to experience what I crave every night and dream about every day. In the end, I gave that dancer everything it wanted. I'd care if I had a heart. I truly would. In all honesty, I didn't want to do it. But what choice did I have? Demyx was being uncooprative and wanted proof of my words. How would you have gone about it?

 

He brought his sword forward warning Xemnas to back off. "Not in the way you did it. All you did was destroy one of your own. What matters is that the nobody had become human and then perished just so you can prove a point to your slave. You could of handled it another way. And yes Demyx is your slave for he is forced to listen to you and obey or otherwise be destroyed himself. Why the hell would he not trust you? It's because he's afraid of losing his existance to you. If he had it his way he would free from all of you." Glaring at Mixt he pointed his buster sword to him. "And you who ever the hell you are. I do my job to protect the innocent and right then at that second when that dancer did become human it was my duty to protect her, but failed to. So you keep your mouth shut. You don't know anything about me so who are you to pass judgement on me?"

Demyx looked down at the ground shaking his head feeling defeated. In his mind he knew Cloud was saying the truth, but he wasn't going to admit it not with Xemnas present and other members of Organization XIII there. All that mattered to him was his own survival.

 

As expected. You still haven't answered my question. What other way could I have convinced him? The only reply you could thing of was spouting empty words on your soap box. Demyx could have retired from this group. If he wasn't viable anymore, then he can leave. I have no use for those who cannot do what needs to be done.

 

"Just because you are inattentive, Cloud, doesn't mean that I don't know who you are. Hollow Bastion was my home after all." said Mixt still speaking without any emotion "But it was a mute point to begin with because you are not the one being judged, your emotions make you feel threatened so you belittle yourself and defend yourself as if your on trial when in fact you were the one attempting to pass judgment. And if you truly wanted to protect her you would have tried to stop the event for allowing her not to live would of been the only thing to cause her not to die, but driven by curiosity you stood idly by and now feel guilt for having not been able to save her. And to top it off you see you self as too strong to feel shame, which caused you to become embarrassed and redirect those emotions into anger"

 

Aerith picked up her basket and headed home, or where home was now. She hummed, thinking ahead. Hopefully Cloud and Leon were okay....she wondered where everyone else was.

 

Cloud was getting fed up with this Mixt character, but what was attacking him going to prove? He remained calm listening to him speak and now he felt he needed to set the record straight. "I stayed back and watched the ceremony because I didn't know what was going to happen. I was not going to put myself into a situation where I didn't know what the outcome would be. Any one would have done it." He scraped the blade on the ground making a horrible screech like nails on a chalk board. "You know nothing for you are nothing as nobodies claim to be so spare me your lecture of who I am stranger."

Demyx had to speak up to let the Superior know that he was mistaken. He wished Mixt would stay out of the mess with Cloud for he did not want any fights to break out. "Boss you know I couldn't do that. It's a shame that I lost a dancer too. I just wanted someone to look up to me and she was in human form." He cast his eyes down at the ground and then brought himself to look at Xemnas once again. "No matter as much as I hate to admit it I have no where else to go and the only ones that understands me are this organization. I was created for a purpose and I have to accept that, but while doing so I don't think there is anything wrong with enjoying the life I have now as who I am now. And that means making the choices I choose to, and enjoying what life has to offer. There is nothing wrong with that is there?"

 

Mixt let Demyx speak with Xemnas as he spoke with Cloud. "It was stated that Xemnas had made a breakthrough in the resurrection process and that this was a demonstration of the current state he is in to the goal. Even if you were naively optimistic and believed that it would be successful, all that lives will die. There is no exception. And she died naturally as well. What were you expecting from this if not what happened?"

 

It is fortunate that you understand demyx. It truly was unfortunate that we lost that dancer. If it only could have lived for a while longer. Now, help me up. We need to find number 15 a robe and a head stone.

 

"Yes Superior," Demyx seized him by his arm and helped him up to his feet. He let go and then looked away. "I want you to know that you can trust me. I'm sorry I made such a mess of things. I can't help the way I am and well I'm just... I can see why I'm such a failure to you. I thought I was doing the right thing and I react the way I do based on memories and... now I'm repeating myself again," he sighed. "The whole thing is I'm not sure of who I am anymore and I guess I really am different from the others."

Cloud sighed to himself making sense of Mixt's words."I thought something good would happen from the whole display, but I failed to realize it was not meant to be. I can see how humans are nobodies are different. I only do what I think is right for myself and others and if I was in your same postion then I would do the same to regain happiness over something I lost."

 

no, no you are just like roxas. You were both such emotional somebodies in life that you don't know how to think with pure logic. They are knee jerk reactions.
