A Knights Tale

"looks great!" Phenox said he made his plate and began digging in.

 

yume's eyes widened at the sight of the food.
she then shook her head no.
"nuh-uh. go ahead and eat without me."
she lied back down on the bed and rolled over.

 

"you okay?" Phenox asked "you think we'd poison it or something?"

 

Seto looked at the girl concerned. "You aren't going to eat anything? Are you all right?"

 

"i'm just fine"
she sighed.
"i'm not going to eat your people's food. it's more important to all of you than it is to me. i will eat when i return home and not until then."

 

Phenox walked over to her. "starving yourself will only hurt you." Phenox said with his usual kindness.

 

"That may be a long time princess. Who knows how long this negotiation will take? Maybe your father won't even agree to your release."

 

yume rolled over and looked at the men.
there was pain in her eyes.
"starve myself? you plan on keeping me that long?"
she buried her face in the sheet on the bed.
yume didn't want them to see her eyes watering.

 

"I'm not gonna let you starve." Seto walked ove and sat on the bed next to Yume. "Will you be all right?"

 

he felt bad for the girl. "how long you are here depends on your father..." Phenox said

 

yume lifted her head.
"i'll be just fine and i'm still not going to eat. what did you say to my father that he may not want to rescue me?"

 

"It's not what I said, it's what I know. I remeber your father was not afraid to let other die just so he could keep his power." Seto's memories began to fill his head.

 

yume became angry by his response.
"THAT'S NOT TRUE! he wouldn't just let me die!"
not caring any more she got up and started running.
she knew she would probably be grabbed as soon as she started moving but she ran as hard as she could to get out of the tent.
tears welled up in her eyes making it hard to see.

 

Phenox reacted quickly and tackled her.

 

yume flailed her arms and kicked at phenox.
"LET ME GO!"
the tears came harder now and she was sobbing.
she soon gave up struggling and was covered in dirt.

 

Seto jumped up and tackled the girl. He struggled to keep her pinned down. He then set her back on the bed. "Don't do that again."

 

yume curled up on the bed.
"wh-whatever."
she sniffled hard as the tears came down.

 

Phenox walked up to Yume and put his hand on her shoulder. "we can't let you leave." Phenox said

 

Seto sighed with greif. He leaned over and put his hand on her shoulder. "Forgive me, princess." He handed her a cloth to wipe away her tears. "I can't stop what's going to happen, m'lady."

 

princess yume took the cloth and wiped the dirt and tears from her face.
"yes you can. all you have to do is let me walk out that opening, but that isn't going to happen. that's the only reason things cant be stopped, because you won't let me leave."
she sighed and gave him the cloth back.
