A King's Story

Xyam hugged her knees still watching him.

 

Hikaru came in, hearing Karou. "I'm here brother."
Karou paused, hearing Hikaru's voice. "W-Where?"
"In our bedroom. Please! Help me."
"Hikaru? HIKARU!" Karou screamed and sat up in bed, wide awake. He burst out crying again.
Hikaru sat next to him and hugged him. "I'm here. No need to worry."

 

Xyam continued watching wondering what was happening.

 

Karou cried into Hikaru's shoulder.
Hikaru looked up at Xyam. "When we were 15, our house set on fire. In the blast, me and Karou were separated, me stuck in our bedroom, him in the living room below. Fighting against the blaze, Karou ran up the stairs to rescue me and was badly burned." He sighed. "When we went for our parents, they told us to run. We did and they died."

 

Xyam suddenly felt awkward. "Oh, I'm sorry" she said quietly.

 

Hikaru shook his head. "Since I was half concious for it all, I barely remember. Karou was wide awake and is often haunted by almost losing his twin brother."

 

"No wonder you're so close" she said.

 

Hikaru nodded then pushed Karou back onto the bed. "You gotta sleep."
Karou frowned then curled up under the covers, falling asleep.

 

"You sure he'll be ok?" she said worriedly.

 

Hikaru nodded. "I'll continue my work here next to Karou. It'll be around...... 2 days." He smiled.
Kazune sighed. "Oh well. It better be worth the wait then."

 

"I'll say , i'm not getting in a bunny suit for nothing" she said.

 

Hikaru grinned. "I'll need to know sizes on you though Xyam. Thats why I got a little help."
Kazune blinked. "Help?"
"Haruhi's coming later. And keeping it secret from Kaiko because.... well with Karou like this, you can imagine whats gonna happen."

 

"yeah" she said nodding.

 

Hikaru sighed, looking at Karou. "I still feel sorry for him. He acts like a complete arsehole and a womaniser. But really, inside he's not as mentally strong as me."

 

"That's probably why he acts that way" she said looking at Karou.

 

"I think its because he promised to protect me when we were 14." Hikaru grinned. "All the things he did to try and protect me... One time, he came home with a black eye and three teeth missing!" He laughed.

 

She smiled " how did that happen?"

 

"Bullies. This big, fat one threaten to beat me up. He tried to but Karou stepped in the way and took the hit. Then he thrashed the guy for trying to harm me." He smiled. "He instantly got a status of Kind and Caring, Bully Beater and from the girls, either Smexy or Sex God."

 

Xyam rolled her eyes.

 

Hikaru nodded. "Yeah. I bet that status carries onto Kaiko. I'm sure she'll agree he's one." He grinned.
Kazune laughed.
