A King's Story 3: Dark Secrets

"All my goddamned shirts are missing..." Kazune frowned, standing up.

 

"maids?" she asked.

 

"No, I asked them and they said they had handed them all in." Kazune sighed. "Where do they keep going? I'll have to borrow one off Hikaru." He walked out, looking around for Hikaru.

"You SURE about this Mello?" Matt asked Mello, hiding in the bushes outside.
"Yup. Steal Kazune's shirts and use them as the wrapping for dirt bombs. SO dig faster!" Mello prodded Matt as he was digging.

 

"won't daddy be angry?" Lawliet asked unsure.

 

"Trust me! I did this with Daddy's shirts once and he laughed so maybe Kazuwne will laugh too!" Mello grinned, pilling dirt into one of Kazune's shirts.
Near sat next to Lawliet, watching Mello and sucking the top of his thumb.

Kazune came out of Hikaru's room, wearing one of his shirts. Great. Got to go to a meeting and I look like a freaking servant.

 

Lawliet shrugged. "Maybe...."

 

"Don't be such a sour puss Lawliet!" Mello said, crossing his arms.
Matt sighed and stopped digging. "Honestly Mello, what will you gain from this?"
"An epic dirt fight?" Mello said hopefully.
"True.... But a smacked bum too." Matt grinned.

 

"and it my dads shirts so I'll get told off the worst" he protested.

 

"No you won't." Mello smiled.
Near looked up at Lawliet.

 

"I'm going inside, I'm hungry" he turned and walked away.

 

Kazune walked out into the gardens.
Mello's eyes widened and he pulled Lawliet back in the bushes. "Ssh! If your Dad finds us, we're toast!"

 

"I thought you said he wouldn't mind?!" he said struggling around.

 

Mello clamped his hand over Lawliet's mouth. "Shut up!"
Matt held onto Near.
Mello looked at Matt and nodded.
Matt nodded too and sent Near out.
Near looked back at the bush with big doe eyes before crawling away slightly.
Kazune smiled, seeing Near and followed him. "Awh, little Near." He picked him up. "Whatcha doing out here?"

 

Lawliet watched nervously.

 

"Come on Near, pull the face..." Matt muttered.
Near watched Kazune then gave him a big smile.
Kazune smiled back. "Awh! Come on, lets find your daddy!" He walked back inside with Near.
Mello and Matt high-fived. "Yes!"
"The Near Bomb never fails!" Mello laughed, grinning.
"Mail Jeevas, Miheal Kheel and Lawliet. What, may I ask you, are doing with Kazune's shirts?"
Matt went pale before pointing at Mello. "IT WAS MELLO'S IDEA!" He grabbed Lawliet and ran away.
Mello was left, staring up at Haruhi.

 

Lawliet ran faster and into the castle.

Matt ran along and through to Near's room. Running to his toy box, he opened it and jumped in, dragging Lawliet with him, shutting the lid. "We're safe here. That scared me."

Haruhi picked Mello up and sighed. "Cheeky monkey." with her free hand, she picked up Kazune's shirts and walked back inside.

 

"that's why Mellos always getting told off" he said quietly.

 

"Oh, who cares? At least we don't get our bums smacked." Matt replied, shoving a stuffed bear away from his face.
The lid opened above them and Near's small face stared down at them both.
Matt waved at Near. "Hi Near. Nice evasion."
Near nodded so slightly, you would have to be looking at him closely to tell that he had even moved.

 

Lawliet poked his head out of the box and looked around. He climbed out.
