A kid tried to burn down our school..

tried being the keyword there.
Our school is over 100 years old, oldest in east TN, second oldest in TN.
It is separated into one main hallway with smallers hallways (where the classrooms are located) branching off.
The main entrance is the gym lobby, the gym is on the right between two hallways. one hallway is where the boys locker room is, the other hallway is the girls lockerroom. outside the lockerroom hallways is the field house.

Well at 12:30 this morning, some kid used a crowbar to open the door outside of the field house into one of the lockerroom hallways. Then the idiot LOOKED at the camera and put his hood on (after looking at the camera...).
Walked down to the middle of the foreign language hall and laid down a box of straw, (supposedly scattered the straw into the cafeteria but the blaze didn't reach it) He then lit the straw, and when he saw the fire start, he left.
All he used was straw, no accelerant. The blaze was so small the sprinklers did not go off. The alarm went off though and the school's automated system called the authorities and faculty. They got there in time to stop the fire.

Now our school is cinderblock so straw wouldn't have done any damage at all. The worst is the ceiling could have lit up and crashed down. And the "arsonist" (and i use that term loosely) comes to school today wearing the exact same clothes he had on! And the faculty saw the tapes and saw his face! The teachers won't tell us who it was or the punishment (like we won't find out, its high school!) but our physics teacher said she knew it was none of her students because we "would have been smart enough to actually burn the school down".

 

Wow, that's pretty scary. The kid that tried to do it sounds like a complete idiot. Anyways it's good that the school didn't burn down and no one got hurt.

 

That person thankfully was an idiot. Thankfully the school found out who it was. That's a really scary situation, I'm sorry you had to go through that D:

the rest of us cant figure out how he was stupid to show his face to the camera, TRY to burn in it down with nothing but straw, and show up to school the same day with the same clothes..

Seriously... all I can say is that guy was an idiot... XD I guess he was dared or he was bored. Either way, I'm glad nothing serious happened like people getting injured and that the school wasn't burned...

 

Thank goodness nothing happened so that the fire actually started... well, burning. xD Thankfully the kid was an idiot. Otherwise, it might have been bad. But really, why would you show up in the exact same outfit you wore on camera when you tried to burn down the school?

Anyway, your school sounds fancier than ours. We have a security system, but no cameras. As far as I know, at least.​

our school sucks, its a jail lol no windows at all and it has a fence around it and has cops roaming thru it (SROs)

 

Oh. My. Gosh. This kid is a total idiot. I mean seriously, wearing the SAME clothes to school. Wow. Well, it's a good thing that your school didn't get burnt down, though. And you will probably find out soon enough anyway, seeing that that person will not be attending school for awhile. Although, if it's a big school, maybe not.

our school has over 1600 students (but its only built for 1000!!) and things get around, if teachers don't tell us his friends will spread it around.
when my friend told me someone got pregnant but couldnt say who, the whole school knew by the end of the day. Things get around lol

A kid tries to burn down a school. If that fire really worked the way the kid wanted it to it could of spread and killed people possibly...how is that amusing?

I don't think the kid was the brightest bulb in the bunch, but what sticks out at me is what your teacher said. "You would have been smart enough to burn the school down." does she want another arsonist wannabe? I mean, it made me laugh at first, but seriously, that could give a kid the wrong idea. I'm glad no one got hurt though.

 

She was obviously joking...I doubt any of the kids would have felt that way...besides the one who got in trouble of course.

I apologize to whomever may be offended, but this is humorous in the sense this this kid was practically trying to get caught. Other than that, this is not a joking matter and I'm glad no one was hurt.

You can go to jail for that?
Plus why would you want to burn it down anyways?
It's like:
If you hate the school so much..cut.
Don't make anything out of yourself because, you won't anyway being such a doorknob.

a similar situation happened at my school too, 'cept the person lit the paper towel dispensors on fire in the boys bathroom (with the paper towel hanging out of course), and the boys couldn't go use the restroom all day. it sucked because i had to go and i couldnt. T_T
