A Journey Through Fate

Nodding at her orders Eva stood with a stretch. One done she moved to Yuki and patted him on the shoulder. "Come on now, let's get to work."

Eva walked out the door and stood in the hall, giving a look over while she waited to be joined by the other. It was a simple task, showing a newbie how things worked around here. Even easier when they've been in limbo long enough to pick up the basics. But it also made her responsible for them. And while most of the ones she taught stopped existing here due to moving on some had been consumed. The guilt...

No way was she was going to lose another one.

Olivia continued to stare out the window. Aura wasn't always the most gentle when it came to new recruits, so she didn't like her being the one to seek out those more delicate. She sighed and craned her neck up at the black-haired girl. "You know very well that I am the last person who needs reminding of the fact that there were people before us. How else would we have made it this far?" Liv moved her yellowish-green eyes back to the window and slumped down further in the chair. Her mind wanted to wander to her time spent with him, but she couldn't let it.

She sighed and spoke to the glass. "Sure. Give it a shot. And, find out where those tunnels lead. The more passageways the better." Liv stood, her skirt ruffling as she made her way around the desk and back to the closet where she pulled out Yuki's uniform. "If it doesn't work, I like the newbie's idea. Oh, and I'm taking off for a bit. If anyone asks...well...make something up." She needed to go see him. Even if he wasn't really there, Liv always felt like she could feel him. It was where he got obliterated, after all. Maybe talking to nothing would help her figure something out. Maybe it wouldn't. She had to at least try.

Nothing seemed to work before, but it didn't stop her from visiting the spot. It's been a little over two and a half years since she arrived in limbo, and two years since he stopped being with her. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't stop thinking about him. The letters weren't enough anymore. It wasn't fair. She nodded a farewell to Aura and tossed her the key to the Principal's office. It would probably be late by the time she got back. Someone else needed to have control of the door.

 

"Okay." Replied to Eva, "Sounds like fun... Imagining all the possibilties of his first mission. Maybe he would have to distract NPC's with some songs, maybe he would have to help take on an army of monsters... His mind endlessly wandering, he asked Eva. "What are we going to do first?"

Rubbing her chin in thought Eva looked at Yuki. "Well...there's actually not much to do right now. Normally I start my day off with sweeps for new comers. And while doing that I'm on the look out for shadows. Nasty things never stop coming..." she finished with a sigh. Maybe one day they would cease to exist. Or in the very least give everyone a break.​

"After that I hunt down people and try to get them to join our crew." It sounded like a short and sweet schedule, but the tasks sometimes ended up going on all day. It was rather tiresome, but at least it gave her something to always do. And with that it was easy to push all other thoughts to the back of her mind.​

makeo crawled through the underground of their world. His belongs sat on a metal shelf imbedded in the dirt wall. He had been exploring these tunnels for weeks and every time he thought he reached the end, a new route would open up. This one seemed incomplete. It was barely a crawl space and was covered in earth on every side. Most others were full-sized tunnels one could easily walk through and had metal or cement walls, floors, and ceilings. There had to be something here, or it wouldn't be worth digging.

many a time while exploring, he would run into traps along the way. It definitely made life difficult. Makeo had no weapons like the others. He relied purely on instinct. Fortunately, he hardly saw any NPC's down here. It was only when he ascended to the above ground that he was attacked. Was there something down here keeping the NPC's away? That would be convenient. If it wasn't for the lack of food and hygiene, he would probably never see the light of day.

he gathered up his belongings and shoved them in the backpack over his shoulders. The shelf would have to remain put until he headed back to the small alcove he had turned into a home. It wasn't much, but he was proud of it. Makeo had learned to make due with his surroundings. That wasn't going to change just because he died and went to limbo.

Aura jumped out of the window and began to walk out to the gym. She was unarmed, sort of. She still possessed a dagger in case things turned for the worst. They seem to always do in these situations, surprisingly though, no attention was being drawn to her. With a grin she ran and arrived into the gym. Pulling out the mats, she found the entrance to the area where Makeo was. It was a dark, moist area. It would be a nice place to be alone. She highly doubt any of the shadow creatures knew about this place, or this might be where they originated even, just in a different tunnel.

She walked about to try and rediscover Makeo resting place. Around the corner she could hear the boy eating. He was getting food which was a good thing. Aura turned the corner and was still unnoticed by him. She walked to his side and put her hand on his shoulder which forced him to jump and shoot his gun which pierced her heart forcing her to pass out. Makeo was shocked. He even felt guilt. It was his fault after all. He would tend to her until she woke up... then run.
Aura awoke without Makeo noticing. She grabbed around him so he could not escape this time. He struggled. "Quit it. I just want to talk to you for a little. No need to panic1"

 

[/url]xxxxxCeril left the Clubhouse with Jeremiah in tow. He had taken quite a liking to her, and she didn't mind. She never had a younger sibling growing up, so his company was enjoyable. Jeremiah liked showing her new tunnels he would discover and teaching her some of his favorite games. She didn't play much growing up, considering she had spent so much time in and out of the hospital. He had found a new hidden path just passed the sports equipment shed. His small size was an advantage when it came to searching out new tunnels, but Ceril always feared he would get consumed being out on his own.

xxxxx"Where is this passageway at exactly?" He pulled on her hand a little harder and lead to wall boarded up in plywood. She eyed it briefly before attempting to pull down the wood. It wouldn't budge for her and she glanced down at the young copper-haired boy suspiciously. "And how exactly do you know there is a tunnel on the other side Jeremiah?" He didn't respond, but instead pried open a loose flank at the bottom of the plywood. It slid aside and he was able to crawl inside. Interesting, she thought.

 

Teito left the clubhouse along with the others and made his way through the school. He didn't have anywhere in particular to be right now so he'd figured he's just take a walk around the school. Who knows, maybe he'll find a new recruit along the way.
