Just encountered my very first glitch in Kingdom Hearts II while off-screen grinding (got from level 45~ to level 90~) to get everyone, including the world allies, armor and accessories as well as other synthesis goodies.

Well, I got out on the world map and the music wasn't playing. I then went to Port Royal to synthesize Jack's Buster Band and went back to the world map, and the music was playing again. However, then I went to Agrabah to make Aladdin two Buster Bands, only to discovery I didn't have enough materials, so I exited the house to farm serenity shards from the fat bandits. After I defeated the group of heartless there and Arabian Dream stopped playing, A Day in Agrabah didn't start playing again; however, Arabian Dream still played fine when I encountered heartless. I had to go out and back into the world to fix it.

I should note that the sound effects and everything else still worked, it was just some weird music glitches. o.O

Don't go to Port Royal. It is a silly place.

Do I want to ask why you're worrying about putting equipment on allies when you're at Lv90? Wouldn't you be done with those worlds by that time?

Because I go back to those worlds and fight just for fun or watch the allies fight just for fun. That and for completion and accomplishment's sake.

An interesting glitch I've encountered I wouldn't really count as a 'glitch' since I wasn't really playing properly. To record the cutscenes for 1.5 quickly, I modded my save to put me at level 100 from the start. When I'd load up my save file, I'd often have critical health and the little siren would play; if I jumped to the world map too quickly, occasionally the siren would keep playing regardless of my health. Would have to load the save up again to get it to go away.

Question: Why do you need to be level 100 to record cutscenes quickly? I know the fights would go quickly, but it wouldn't be that much of a difference, would it?

I could of course play it legitimately but twenty second boss fights saves a lot of time.

the only glitch i've encountered in kh was in kh3d. Riku got stuck in Dark Aura and continuously fell through each room. I think I put it on yt

She wasn't playing just for fun though, she was playing to record the cutscenes haha. I imagine the process goes a lot faster when you're overpowered.

Yeah, exactly. I have a separate save (and actually account on my PS3 lol) for recording the scenes. This run was just "let me blow through as fast as possible to get the cutscenes," I have a legitimate save where I play the game for real.

Oddly enough, I've never had a kh glitch in any of the games, or none that I remember.

I get why you did it, but after playing a bunch of games and being overpowered and taking any sort of enjoyment out of it, I usually find myself just putting the game down and restarting. Kind of like .hack/GU where you can start the first game over at lv50 if you have a save from the third game. Even if I knew everything I just hated being that strong.

Guess this just turns into a case of "to each his own"

Again, you were playing those games for pleasure. You were over-powered for pleasure.

Misty was overpowered for business. She had a duty, and being overpowered helped her do that efficiently. You could almost say her playing the game had nothing to do with playing the game.

Hey, pleasure and business are one and the same when it comes to gaming. You don't take your games like business, your games won't treat you nicely

I sometimes enjoy being overpowered in games but it does get boring quickly. I farmed for ages on Skyrim to get the best armour and weapons and enchanted them in such a way to make my health regenerate fast than I could lose it and so I could one hit kill anything. The game got old quickly but it was fun to start with.

A game can be like a business like a book can be work when you have to read it for school. When it's your duty to do something, a lot less pleasure is taken from it because it's not something done of your own free will, it's done for a meaningful purpose.

Well, let's not forget that everything done on here isn't really business more so than pleasure. It's only business if you make it feel that way, and the same can be said for something being fun

It unfortunately is a sense of business- it's completing that duty that keeps this site's mission statement true and keeps it worth owning for the owner. Without that duty being completed, there is no site and we lose the community we hold dear. Lots of pressure to get it done reasonably fast, and the recording is only the first part of the process.
