    Quite very much this.

    The grass is never really greener.

    If you're unhappy in the country you reside in currently, find out why and fix it. If you live with your parents, move out. If you hate your job, start looking for a new one. If it's the community as a whole or the environment, get in the car and go. Nothing can stop you.

    What if it's the country as a whole?

    Yes! I love the Welsh. Also, the Welsh language which amuses me because I can't pronounce any of the words.

    I'm sure this has nothing to do with Doctor Who being filmed a majority of time in Wales, right?

    What are you talking about?

    Everyone knows they film in America. Utah and New York and all those places that aren't anywhere near where I live. ; ;

    It's this show about an old man kidnapping women much younger then him in his vehicle and forming 'deep bonds' with them, if you know what I mean.

    ... I'm just gonna sit here and shake my head.
    you DO know that I live in a tiny house with like 4 other people, right? There will probably be no room unless Stark and I move out.

    You'll have some familiar (and hopefully close) people around you, right? Cause I've had two, three mental breakdowns since the move due to things not going the way I planned (a.k.a not having a job/education giving even more expenses e.t.c), and I probably would've ended up in a mental hospital if I didn't have family around (helps when your aunt is a psychotherapist, too).

    And be prepared for almost unbearable home sickness. I've tried to go back home for visits every six months or so (another added expense ;D), and I still miss my family more and more, and occasionally feel guilty about leaving them behind, even though it was better for me to leave. And trust me, even if your home life was complicated, even a toxic place to be in, it's pretty likely you'll feel homesick occasionally.

    Oh, it's not that I don't like it here. It's great. There are problems, perhaps more than in other countries, but I'm not looking to escape this place, I just want the experience of being in a foreign land as a resident rather than a tourist. Plus, it'll be funny to have my current IRL friends become online friends and a few of my online friends become IRL friends. It'll be fun until the homesickness kicks in!
    I don't want to live with you. Just near you so I can say that I've met you. Besides, you won't know when I get there anyway. You'll just be out and about one day when suddenly you'll hear someone shouting, "BROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" before getting hug-tackled. Then I'll wake up with a black eye a little later. That'll probably take a month or so, though, given my luck. Maybe more. Or you'll know I'm there because you overheard a hobo grumbling about that dick who gave him $20. Regardless, I'm not gonna tell you when I arrive. I might have Liz start dropping hints, though.
    Nobody I've met in person yet, but axel-chan viii is a close friend of mine, so I will have a little support. I even know where she lives, though I'm not sure how I can use that information if I'm having a mental breakdown.

    Oh, I know I'm gonna miss home, but my parents are going to miss me more, so that'll help me get to sleep at night. I'm actually not very good at leaving home for extended periods of time, but I've never had a problem with foreign countries, even when I went to France with only my mother, grandmother, and an awful lot of walking to do (ooooh oooh oooooooooooh). My biggest (homesickness-induced) mental breakdown was in New York surrounded by my close to home family and extended family, so I think that for me it's the notion of being surrounded by homey things (family, among other things) but not actually being able to get back home to does it to me.

    So I'll be fine for at least a month or so before it really hits me that I'm actually living a whole ocean's width away from home and I've only got a close friend to help me get through whatever things don't go as planned. I even expect things not to go as planned, so that will probably help a tiny bit with coping with whatever goes wrong. And later I'll remind myself that I am actually surviving (but probably not succeeding) on my own in a foreign country. That'll feel pretty sweet for a while, and then I'll get homesick but remain functional for the rest of my time there.

    Also, today I learned that I have a bad habit of planning things that I have no control over. That might get ugly.
