I've been watching the Funimation dub on Toonami off and on and... I really do not care for the voices. Maybe that's just me. None of the characters sound like they do in my head, which isn't a fair criticism, but still. I lost my mind when I head Franky

i kinda don't mind the censorship 4kids did. while it's not good for communicating the original work, it has this charm about it and it's so cheesy and i love it for that. maybe that's the nostalgia talking idk

It's all on that wiki page you got that image from. =P

The Funimation voices are a thing you have to get used to. Even though I thank 4kids for introducing me to the show, I can't forgive them for several of their decisions...
The acting was poor, some of the edits they did made no sense...

..., and they worse of all they skipped a couple of important arcs for unknown reasons other then to get to the chopper...

See, when I see this picture I don't enter fanboy rage mode, I start laughing because it's hilarious.
Alabasta soldiers having water guns (in a desert) is also hilarious, whether they intended it to be that or not.

And I don't watch the anime, so it's something I'l never have to get used to.
I only watch the movies and I'll just watch subs for those, considering only two have been localized anyway.

My pov is the manga is the definitive way to experience One Piece, so whatever changes the anime makes doesn't concern me. Meaning absurd localization edits are completely irrelevant to my enjoyment of One Piece so I'm not bothered by them because I can just read the manga. I get for someone who watches the anime edits may be a more serious matter, especially those who only watch dub, but it's not something that I personally care about. its whatever

I read the manga too, but that doesn't stop me from watching the show because it's good. Plus it's easier to keep up with some stuff when it's actually moving than just seeing pages marked with air movements. In fact, if Air Gear would have continued all the way like the manga, I'd probably have a much easier time following it than in the manga itself.
Okay, just how do you see that as a thread? All I see happening is a giant bump like a Looney Toons episode. And yeah, after watching some of those comparison videos, I don't hear much emotion or anything from the 4kids acting, but you can hear more of it in the funimation. And the Arc skips were kind of annoying too, because it caused some continuity errors, especially with the episodes at loguetown, where Zoro gets his swords and such
