No, /b/ and /v/ are where people shouldn't aspire to be because they're hatemongering craps. And /a/ is just embarrassing. The other boards seem alright to me from the outside looking in.[DOUBLEPOST=1404656514][/DOUBLEPOST]

A few members of a larger group do something bad, and we blame the group as a whole. Yay society.

I'm gonna be honest here about my beliefs on this matter and not deflate anything, so get ready..... Trigger warnings are dumb and the result of a spoiled society. They were never a good idea because that's not how life works. We shouldn't all have to be constantly PC to make sure we don't trigger some PTSD because for the years the internet has existed, it's been pretty easy to avoid pictures of vietnam war injuries if your a 'nam vet by not freakin' going out of your way to find it. I get tumblr is this hugbox that is fast and when people upload something, they want it to get as much exposure as it can so it has to have a zillion tags on it (another problem for another day) and they're just trying to tag it so no one will accidentally stumble across something and have an episode. I get that, I really do. But if I'm searching for images of Devil May Cry and find an image of Dante bending Nero over and raping him, a tag that says "TW: RAPE" isn't going to make me not have an episode if I were a victim. I wouldn't see that and go "oh, thank god they tagged it! Now my PTSD won't kick in!" All it's been used for is an excuse to try and repel nerd rage (and attract it, of course) and be a scapegoat.

tl;dr- was never a good idea, could never have good execution

I haven't even read a single post in this thread and can already tell it is without a doubt the single worst thread in the history of Kingdom Hearts Videos

    And lemme tell ya
    That's a feat.

Those tags aren't for looks. People have extensions that hide posts with certain tags. It's how they filter.

How do you observe what's going on an Anonymous image board?

    Re: My previous post

It was a good idea when it applied like 'Warning! NSFW' did, had a good application. Has evolved to be even better in execution with the tagging system.

This is the same system people use to filter out spoilers from their Tumblr dashes. It works well for filtering anything for any reason, but only if people correctly tag offending posts.

tl;dr - Your idea was bad, your imaginary execution was bad. Beat up the real thing next time.[DOUBLEPOST=1404671550][/DOUBLEPOST]
Think about it. It will come to you.

You've been here since '07 and you think this is the worst thread? That makes me laugh.

First off, I don't believe the standard tumblr user even knows what an extension is. Second, let's pretend they do and it basically acts as a built in filter... THEN WHY DO YOU NEED TO THROW THE WORDS TRIGGER WARNING THERE? THEY WON'T SEE IT. WRITE THE WORD "RAPE" IN THE TAGS AND THEN YOU'LL GET IT BLOCKED

It's because a lot of people on tumblr don't WANT that crap blocked. There was a whole freakin' SJW movement about porn with women being raped but then the leaders of it all were found commenting and reblogging MALE RAPE PORN and NO ONE called them on this crap.[DOUBLEPOST=1404672170][/DOUBLEPOST]
Hey dude, I'm trying to defend "4chan," if that wasn't clear, because /b/ is just one freakin' image board. And it moves so fast that probably 95% of the people who attend there probably didn't even see these "movements". That said, /b/ is terrible. Not for this, they're just annoying.

Think again. There are several very popular Tumblr mods. One of the most popular is the one I just specified. Your belief, and your original argument against this system, are based in how stupid you think Tumblr users are.

Here to tell you, looking down on them is easy but inaccurate.

You don't need the trigger warning. The extensions allow wildcards besides. Who says you need to add the trigger warning? That's just what they called. For spoilers, they're called spoiler warnings. A lot of people happen to tag their various types of tags with specific modifiers for personal tag organization. These styles vary, for example tw and TW are not the same case but they both get used. Go figure.

Are you sure you are able to have this discussion? Firstly, I have not heard of that movement. Secondly, that movement is not related to this topic. Thirdly, hypocrisy is not related to this topic.

Stop grasping at straws. If you want to dislike Tumblr, I can't stop you. But that doesn't mean I have to acknowledge all of your unrelated reasons for disliking it in a discussion that has nothing to do with them.

That's why I said this is a feat
    No seriously how exactly?
It's not like anything on /b/ is archived, I can go on there right now and I don't see nothing about no raiding or hacking or whatever, the best I get there is the inside of a fat girls anus.

Most of the time the people "from 4chan" are just people from tumblr posting on tumblr.
So this thread should really be
    "tumblr vs tumblr"

You read posts on 4chan like this.

There you go. You've successfully read an anonymous message that instigates collective action against another site.

I think you missed the point.

You don't read every thread. Some of those threads you didn't read seriously outclassed this one.

    It's not rocket science.
