I stopped watching direct tv a while ago. There just isn't anything of interest on anymore. In fact, my family is thinking of cutting cable altogether since no one watches it. Only thing I'd be missing would be Toonami, but I don't stay up that late anyways

Cable is becoming increasingly outdated. I would not pay for it having internet and stuff. And considering most people binge watch shows these days theres no reason to pay for something you wont use. And with online services like Hulu its possible to keep up with new releases without waiting for a seasons to finish if thats what a person wants.

Alternatively you could just torrent everything

Assuming you're also referring to satellite, no, it's not.

    That's illegal.

Thats why i said increasingly. Ofc ppl still watch tv but its becoming less practical and necessary with online services providing the same content but not tied to airdates and other packages people dont want.

its what you do with it. just like regular downloading

Torrenting a TV show instead of buying it might as well be as illegal as jaywalking

I can see why you might think Nickelodeon is still good, but how can you look at a network like TNT and think, "Yep, that programming is certainly the pinnacle of its genre?" TNT and every network like it is trash TV at its worst.

Nick - Only plays Spongebob Squarepants and possibly a marathon of Fairly Oddparents.

Nicktoons - I haven't bothered with this channel so I can't make pithy remarks about it.

Teen Nick - I don't need to see a lot of shows aimed at teenagers thank you. Useless romance plots and "awkward" situations like acne and who to take to the prom. I'll pass.

Disney Channel - Only time I bother is when I'm babysitting and she prefers Disney Jr.

Cartoon Network - Seems to have a lot of shows that aren't cartoons in its lineups. No Young Justice or Green Lantern. Instead I get Teen Titans Go. I'll pass.

Spike TV - Do they still do that Star Wars marathon thing? Otherwise, I'm not going to bother because the advertisements on this channel are less than desirable.

OWN - I haven't bothered with this one.

TNT - It's okay in terms of Criminal Minds and Bones. But otherwise, nah.

The CW - It's the network that runs Reign. Only reason why I'd bother.

    So 2 out of 10?

Nick and every variation have turn to ****. Either that or I just grew way out of them. Probably some of both.
Disney. If it's not Kingdom Hearts, Pixar, or a few other things it can go **** itself. basically nothing on television
Cartoon Network has started to bounce back ngl. I don't watch most of their shows but from what I have seen they seem like a vast improvement over what they've had in recent years. And people keep saying that they still have live action shows. What is this, 2008? I haven't seen a live action show on CN in a long time. Granted, I don't watch much television so I could have just missed them.
The CW still has Smallville to pay for, however Arrow is on the network so I can't judge it too harshly.
    TNT OWN Spike. wat.

The only channel I will turn on the television to check is FX because they frequently play movies I like. AMC will sometimes as well. Other than that I don't watch tv.
i guess it all comes down to taste though

If your family is like my family, Cable is the only TV service you have. My mother refuses to pay for netflix, hulu or anything like that. She can barely be persuaded to get high-speed internet (which really isn't all that high speed).

So, Cable (and downloading stuff) is all I got.
