I would say there is a major difference between pointing a gun at someone and carry it.

Couldn't have said it better myself

Could you specify what you consider your land?

A piece of land that I make use of regularly, either with a group, mutual use, or as an individual, private property.

Seeing them at a park would invoke the same reaction.

I usually don't like butting into such squabbles, but that first comment there, I take offense to. My grandfather fought in WWII in the 101st Air born. He saw many things in his time there, won the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star, and I know since talking with him, he had honor, and his own personal opinions during his service.

Plus, my brother has been thinking of joining the army. He is a very artistic and creative young person, and certainly don't see him as, "Scum without an individualist bone in their bodies". I may get in fights with him sometimes, but he is a good and strong person.

It seems like I'm going on a rage, but that comment struck a nerve with me. I may not agree with what the army does and the choices they make, but I don't blame it on the individual soldiers themselves.

Say what? I certainly hope you mean inside of the US, because outside, most people question it.

I do agree that the police officers/soldiers can refrain from following orders/going to that field, but some people have other priorities. I don't agree with the current war, but just because you think that your priorities are better, doesn't mean you can refrain from looking at the other side of the coin.

The ones who follow orders are often people who have to feed their families. There is a reason there are so many soldiers, you get paid. You are able to provide. You risk your life, not for your country, but for your family. That's what a lot of people don't understand about the soldiers. Due to the US (ridiculous, tbh) policies, there is a need for many soldiers. Less fortunate people see this as an opportunity to provide for their families.

Is it the right choice? Not necessarily, but its an honorable choice in that they risk their life to provide for their loved ones.

I meant the main side, not the US' involvement in itself. But I digress. Those wars are more debatable than others.

Wrong. Rather die than kill without personal reasons.

People who would kill someone or go through military conditioning to feed their family have less honor than people who do it because they like killing. Forgoing personal preferences for the sake of your job is never an honorable thing to do. You trump everything, every time.

Please refrain from making it seem like your opinions are facts. They are not.

If it is a matter of opinion, I will favor my preferences by definition.

I will continue to have strong preferences.

I figured he posted it for one reason or another.

    Might as well oblige him.
