4-year-old shares cocaine at daycare

New Jersey police say a 4-year-old boy shared cocaine with his friends at day care because his father told him it was candy.

Newark police say 25-year-old Shaheed Wright of East Orange put several baggies of cocaine inside his son’s jacket after police nearly caught him with it. The boy shared the drugs with three other 4-year-olds at his day care center Friday.

A teacher spotted a girl with a baggie in her mouth and called authorities after seeing the white powdery substance.

The children were taken to a hospital, but none were injured. Police found more baggies of cocaine after searching the boy’s pockets.

Wright was charged with four counts of child endangerment and drug offenses. He is not listed in the phone book, and police do not know if he has retained a lawyer.

That could have ended quite badly. I mean, what the hell? Giving cocaine to a kid, to evade arrest? I bet you anything murder charges are far worse than drug charges, and it could very well have been murder, if the kids had bothered to take the cocaine out of the bags before eating it.

 

Wow, amazing what people will do to not get in trouble. =/

 

That guy doesn't even deserve to have kids. The entire situation disgusts me. Of all things to give to your four year old child, he chooses to give cocaine? That's terrible....I am so relieved the children didn't freakin' die! They could end up addicted to it now and react badly to that addiction. The father should lose rights to even having the kid all together after making a move like that. Seriously, who knows what kind of person that kid will become...

That is so awful, when drugs become more important than your children, that is when you should realise just how far in the **** you are.

I actually hope that this man gets the help he clearly needs to come out of the drugs cycle. True I hope he gets punished for putting not just his own children, but the children of others in danger, but I also think he needs help.

I just hope that his kid has someone responsible to look after them whilst all this is going on.

 

That man doesn't deserve to keep his kids. I hope they're somewhere safe now and that he gets the help he needs.

 

How selfish can a person get? That person threw all consideration for the safety of his son out the window, if it was there in the first place. The situation could have been much worse. That ticks me off a bit.

 

That guy should go to jail undeniably. Deliberately giving your kid cocaine is definitely jail worthy I think in the law's book. I can't think of anything worse than endangering children at the moment. This guy is an absolute creep!
