Oh, believe me, you don't want AP.

I've spent three hours alone on notes for one class
granted KHV has kept distracting me, but still >:L

Well, we don't have IB down here.
And frankly, I'm glad I can say that.

Ten hours per week per class is expected in the engineering department I'm in. Put it this way. A full time student is expected to do homework like it's their full time job.

Even with my part-time, I never had that much homework.

    ( what is pre-ap )

Anyway I never really felt totally floored by homework in high school? Only, I guess, when I was in AP Biology, I was... expected... to read the textbook & study. Which I did, sometimes, but not as often as I probably should have. I wasn't planning to take the AP, though, so I wasn't really trying to hard. In both of my AP English classes and in US History though I handled the homework pretty well.

College is... a different story, hah. You have a lot more free time but a lot more assignments/at home work, due at far-off dates, so it's ridiculously easy to procrastinate.
She posts as she has three papers due in the next two weeks.

The sissy version of AP classes. They're slightly harder than regular classes but not by much.

I took as many advanced classes as I could back an highschool and never really struggled. Ignoring homework for exams means more time for yourself. >>

They don't let people your age go to college. Stop lying to us.

I never really felt overwhelmed by homework in High School. I remember it being a welcome distraction from the constant rage I felt at everything. College was much the same way except I wasn't so angry. Work was something to occupy my brain. These days, I don't really have that luxury other than my [YMMV] stressful job. I write these days when I need to calm down. Or I browse TVTropes. [And if I'm work and start getting annoyed, I'll go and straighten things on the shelves otherwise I'm pretty SOL.]

I didn't realize that there were members this young.
This is surprising, just a reminder that if you think life is tough right now, just wait until collage.
At least I have somewhat faith in younger generations because at least one plays TWEWY.

I always thought that it would be better to excel in regular courses rather than kill myself over AP courses.

Ehh it depends, it's really nice to have the college credits. I had the option to take Calc for college credit in high school; I turned it down but took Calc anyway. I'm taking Calc again now and it's a lot harder. I'd be thankful I was learning more material if only Calc was relevant to an English/Education degree. v:
tbf I find it kind of sad when people don't read or post in the KH sections, they're a lot of fun.
