I dont own a 3DS yet but hopefully the camera is better for Spirit Camera (not really sure if they'll upgrade it but oh well). I dont really like the colors for it. I would consider it if the blue was darker or a pure black one was available. I dont really think a 90% bigger screen is worth the extra $30. Plus, it doesn't have a second circle pad. Im good with the normal one since it comes in pure black. My mind might change if I can get my hands on one. Hopefully Nintendo learned their mistake with the DSI XL, the screen was pixelated compared to the DSi.

    WOW.
    I.
    KNEW.
    IT.

I SWEAR NINTENDO SAID THEY WOULD NOT DO THIS.
Ok but for a 3DS I guess it could be justified? I mean a bigger screen would make it a bit more easier to notice the 3D capabilities.

i thought they said this was fake? but if the new model is made out of a material that won't leave fingerprints all over the place, i might get this because i'm constantly wiping my 3DS.

    noooooooooo

    God i hate these XLs.

They are horrible for portability (putting it in your pocket) and it feels too... chunky.

    Don't get it.

They also officially and adamantly denied that the second stick extension was true, two weeks before they officially revealed it, in case you didn' t notice before big N is a big fat liar. Marketing as a whole is heavily relying on lies, don' t trust any news you read just because it is "official". Given the DS multiple versions history it was glaringly obvious the 3DS would also have improved versions sooner or later, but admitting it out loud too soon would only lower the current versions sales and/or anger those who bought the normal version.

Welp, it doesn' t really make sense. Also, still no second stick so I' ll pass too.

Starts with "Mo", ends with "ney".

Am I seriously the only one who thinks this would've been better if it had the 2nd circle pad? o_o

You know something is wrong when a company starts churning out their hardware in a bigger size and emphasize that they will be no more future iterations. The lack of an AC adapter is...puzzling for Japan/Europe and whilst I am glad that they somewhat addressed the battery issue, not being able to recharge it from packaging nulls the whole point. I shouldn't have to had purchased the previous model in order to sustain battery life.

Guess I'm stuck with my DS Lite until Nintendo does a 180 degree spin and say: JUST KIDDING GUYZ, WE GOT SLIMMER 3DS WITH 2ND ANALOGUE STICK + LONGER BATTERY LIFE COMING OUT NOW. HOPE YOU RIKE IT :D (or until Shin Megami Tensei 4 comes out...)

    New 3DS XL announced!

Haha! I'm glad I waited, and did not buy my 3DS yet, I'm getting one these babies!

Yep! as expected from the rumors, Nintendo announced a New portable version for the 3DS, With bigger screens and longer battery Duration, The 3DS XL will arrive on The U.S.A. On the 19th of August for the price of US$ 199, it will be arriving on the same date as The "New Super Mario Bros 2".

In the U.S version it will have 2 color choices: BlackandBlue; & BlackandRed, very stylish,
In Japan however it will be released on the 28th of July and have 3 color Choices: White; BlackandRed; & BlackandSilver(My personal favorite).

It will have a Screen of 4.88 Inches, while the current 3DS has one of only 3.53!
but wait! Here is the best part! The battery duration is up to 6 Hours And 30 Minutes! while the current 3DS has a Maximum of only 5 Hours.

Not to mention that These beauties Come with SD cards With a memory capacity of 4 Gigabytes! That's the double of what The current 3DS holds!
I dunno 'bout you guys, but I myself cant wait to get my hands on these Babies!

Reaching the realms of "slightly" too big to be a practical hand held, but in all honesty if i were to buy a 3DS, and their game selection would need to get soooo much better for that ever to happen, I'd buy an XL, visuals would be more determinable, more precision in the stylus touching and it looks more comfortable to hold. Plus longer battery life ftw.

That's going to kill the graphic from some old DS games. I have a 3DS, but it's also my DS, and even with slightly smaller screens, the graphics are woefully pixelated. The big screen does that to games not built to work around it.
Nintendo has good ideas, but is bad at putting them into action. If they either keep the ratio the same or actually fix the problem, they might be worth it soley for 3DS games in the future.

Lol. Well I for one believe their statement :
"Not in the near future", duh, but that doesn' t imply they' ll never do it at all. ^^
