i think the difference is those games have a lot more meaningful content and variety. i'm not trying to be hypercritical of Destiny or anything, i just wish the missions had more variety because you really are, essentially, doing the same mission all the time and it's just a bummer. i know the game has those strike missions and raids, but man that's end game stuff. you'll play the game for like 15-20 hours before you get there and after that it's just grinding for loot. i dunno, man. i feel like they could have done way more to spice things up. i'll still pick up the game and play it with friends because i know at the end of the day i'll have fun.

I'm just confused by what you wanted. In story, it's an FPS where you go from point A to point B shooting things with cool powers and guns each with a unique property and with drop-in, drop-out co-op and being able to recruit anyone you see. In explore, it's typical MMO quests that are quick to complete with dynamic events and daily collection quests to complete while completing those. PvP is just that- PvP, with a few modes to meet different builds. Then there's Iron Banner where your time put in will make it break your entire team. To prep for that, you need to do Raids and Strikes to earn cool loot.

Just from that overview it sounds like it delivered on everything that can be expected by being told it's genre blend.

So what I'm asking is what did you want? Random quests where you have to do tower defense stuff? Some story stuff has you in claustrophobic areas and some in wide open areas, benefiting different builds and keeping options on your player. It seems to diversify itself in the way a shooter can

Addendum: it's like what we talked about with RE4. I get it. You wanted these games to move the industry forward. You just can't expect that. If every game moved us forward, we wouldn't have good takes on what got us here, ya know?

I think the main problem with Destiny is that Bungie was hyping the franchise more than the actual game and most people didn't quite understand that the first installment of a new IP is rarely ever representative of what the rest of the franchise is going to be like. I see Destiny and Watch_Dogs as being similar to the first Assassin's Creed. They're there to establish to basic ideas that the next games will expand upon to create what the developers' true vision was.[DOUBLEPOST=1413318934][/DOUBLEPOST]
I don't know how, but I do know that he was using all the default equipment and came in second place with the best K/D ratio and only three fewer kills than the first place player.

    From his team:
    1. 29
    2. 5 (He leveled up during the match)
    3. 29
    4. 30
    5. 30
    6. 29

If you look closely at the screen, you can see that the people he's killing are in the same level range.

But I found Assassin's Creed 1 far more enjoyable than either of those two games, and I didn't even beat that game.

i knew the game was just gonna be 'go here and shoot stuff'. i'm fine with those types of games. borderlands series is exactly that and i love those games. my problem is the mission structure is the same EVERY mission. you go to a planet, go to the quest marker, your ghost robot scans some **** and talks about some random lore babble, and then you fight enemy waves. and it's like that every time. every single time. and that's really lame. the gameplay itself feels really good, i just wish more interesting scenarios would happen.

I'm just comparing what's happening. Destiny and Watch_Dogs may not be all that great, but there sequels will definitely be better, just like what happened with AssCreed.

Also, for what it's worth: though I had no hype for Titanfall, having played it at a friend's place, it's actually a pretty good arena shooter. Maybe it coulda been priced better though, but it's not badly designed.
