    I don't know why you find a=b wrong :/
eg. If we have y=ax for a=1 then y=x. I hope I made myself clear lol
Anyway, there IS a mistake I can tell you. And I'm pretty sure it is the only mistake in this theory, because it was analyzed by teachers in a Greek university (yes I'm Greek :)) and they found no other error on the theory. :///

Yeah but that's only if a=1. ONLY. so y most likely does not equal x...

And you can tell us now anyways...Unless you don't want to say it out loud just PM me...

    This is simple math.

Sure, if you WANT 1 to equal 2 then that's more considered a variable.

But 1 + 1 = 4, ONLY if you do a more advanced form of Mathematics.

So likewise, your equation is ONLY correct because it was manipulated by variables. a is a variable, and so is b. But you made 1 seem like a variable too. :/

    How Is 1 a variable, 1 is 1

    A variable is a letter.

that's what i was getting at. it's NOT a variable which means it doesn't work. IF it was a variable, THEN it would work.

    > = Greater than.

    So, 4 > 2, 4 is greater than 2.

    The answer

The problem is the step where he divides both sides by (a-b)
    a=b so
    (a-b)=0
and since you cannot divide by 0 the logic is fundamentally flawed

in this case he said that (a-b)/(a-b)=1
which is the same as 0/0=1 which is not true.

    QED

The problem here is a fairly common misconception that I myself had for a while. The belief that

    squareroot(a+b)=squareroot(a)+squareroot(b)

    put in context:

    49+144=193

    squareroot(49+144)=squareroot(193)
    or
    squareroot(193)=squareroot(193)

    not
    squareroot(49)+squareroot(144)=squareroot(193)
    which is not true

    although

    squareroot(a x b)=squareroot(a) x squareroot(b)

    Sorry to nicklamda and Shadow

no it doesn't matter. it doesn't change the fact that 1+1=2. NOT 4
