I'd say at least 5000. 1000 is a bit too small for several things like the Creativity Corner and RP Forum.

    So 5000+

How about 9000, then you get a warning if its over...

    J/K...

I am really against any word limit. It would just restrict our imagination... especially if we only did it because it makes the page look cluttered. I was actually thinking of editing my initiall post to contain all the chapters when I was done... but it looks like that will be impossible considering its over 75 pages long. Even though it hasn't been updated for far too long.

And O.O I have the second longest chapter? By the way... the mythical chapter 3 is 12 pages in TNR at font 12. Just for the record.

Why don't we just have no character limit like we have now?

Wait, we're talking about pictures here...? If we are there should be a limit to how many pictures you can have with how many kbs In a post. If we're talking about writing, well, this Is a forum after all. If writing really stuffs up your computer, then so be It.

I don't want to be mean or anything, but Its true. And I thought there was a rule about Copy-pasting..? Anywho, there should be. I have to admit, It gets a little lame when you just keep scrolling down on millions and millions of words which are the same. Stories are alright, you're supposed to read stories, but I don't think any people read the same word(s) for about half an hour. Unless you're insanely bored.

So yeah, a rule on copy-pasting the same continuous words/pictures?

    EDIT: Although, Its not like anyone reads the rules anyway xD;

Yeah so having a limit is a really stupid idea >_>

Sorry HB, but seriously, if people have to worry that they only have X chatracters left when writing something then it ruins the flow etc. People would have to stop and cut things or write in ashorter text form. I see nothing wrong with there being no limit, besides it is rare that people do make the posts like the example you used. Not only that but when there are cases where people have started suffering from browser crashing, it has been dealt with by the staff and sorted. if someone feels that their internet is uffering because of the length of a post we can deal with it.

I just don't see why EVERYONE should suffer because of a minority of people not hinking very clearly, especially since the only place that really suffers from the type of posts that you mentioned is the spam zone. Creativity and RP shouldn't have to suffer because of teh spaz zone =\ because none of the threads in creativity and RP have (as far as I am aware) ever crashed anyone's browsers.

Besides, 1000, hell even 5000 is way to short. 5000 characters is nothing, hell I send PMs that are that length, and when you consider that spaces and punctuation count as characters, then I'm sorry, but No limit please.

Cases of browser crashing can be dealt with. I say no to character limiting.

    Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

This would just cramp up some of the writers on the forum, granted most stories are crap but hell they still entertain the more simple members, and RP's well...they're gay too but some people seem to enjoy the childish fantasys of 12 years old brought to typing reality.

Limits aren't needed, hell if your browser crashes because of JUST words then your computer sucks IMO, most of us have seen the original KHVR thread with it's possible going into 100,000's characters, no ones ever complained about the size.

I don't think so. I mean, it would affect heaps of people, especially the writers, and well, there would be too many complaints against it. Plus it only mostly happens in the Spamzone.
Personally, I don't mind it, cause I probably won't write so much (but 1000 characters IS heaps small) on forums, I get writer's block sometimes xDD, and can't express my thoughts so good.

    >.>
Me as a Writer (Though my current story is ded), When Im inspired~ Write GIANT long Chapters. I TRY and make them long so I dont piss off people with too short chapters. Maybe a limit in certain areas. But seriously, We all have out GIANT rants in pretty much all the zones.

Can't say i agree. I see where you're comin' from but as others have said it'll damage the CC section.

Although, i don't see why it can't be a rule against postin'..oh lets say a members name constantly, or just random crap that goes on for ages. That's is just daft, and more than often people don't reply. I don't see why that can't be against the rules.

Don't do that limit because it should be a persons choice on how much the write.

Like I said in my first post, a limit is unnesecary because the only problemw e currently have with this right now is the stupid threads in the spamzone, but with a simple rule that could be dealt with.

In my opinion, definite limits on something is against our rights, at least make it a rule that we can choose to break or not.

I'd have to agree with most of the others and say no. Like CtR said, if people are writing a story and have to worry about a limit, they could rush and stories wouldn't be as detailed or as well written as they would be otherwise. As far as the problem in the spam zone goes, it's not TOO much of a problem, it's just annoying when people do it, but like Cin said, rules could easily be put in place to fix that.

I agree with Orange, since the writers would not put as much depth and beautifully written understanding if there was a limit, and instead, think of other, less appetising shorter alternatives, so that it would fit the ''Limit.''

I think that the writers have a right to write as much as they want, to be as creative as much as their hearts and souls desire.

There should be a limit in the spam zone. The rest should stay unlimited.
