I find it RRRRREEEEAAAALLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYYY annoying that every time someone wants to be a big browzer-crasher, they always succeed. >>:

There's not point in posting posts with a kagillion copypastes. SERIOUSLY. People complain because it takes FOREVER for those pages to load and sometimes it just doesn't continue at all and you loose like ALL your tabs for the E7 users. ;_; Those poor souls.

So I suggest a max character limit for posts. A nice 1,000. That's like...3 full pages on Word but it won't kill our computers.

    y/n.

5,000. 1,000 is actually pretty small.

I dunno...those numbers decrease really fast.

I can clear 200 words in, like, two seconds without even realizing.

Plus it would hurt RPers and espeacially Writers because sometimes, when nobodies responded yet, we tend to add onto a previous post.

I'm probably at 2,000 words so far on one fanfic I'm doing. And that's all in one post!
And worse yet, you get deducted big time for indenting.

Which would make this what I'm saying unexistant, unless I kept writing on on line forever.

There used to be a limit, but we got rid of it for the fact that it is actually eaiser and more organized to have a continuesly long post then a bunch of tiny ones. Like KHVR for example would be so confusing to read if it was all devided into post by post increments, but it's all in one post, so it's nice. You could just make a rule against copy+pasta more then 1000 words?

    10,000? How about that?

EDIT: I'm just putting my two cents in.

It's not really my place to judge on this.

10,000 sounds decent to me. 10-15k would be good.

Well 10,000 sounds better than a kagillion copypastes.

The problem is that it would severely hurt the Creativity Corner...

They depend on the no limit to write their stories.

Right so it doesn't have to be just a thousand. How about 10,000, Sara?

I'd like some more opinions, thank you...

    Especially the authors.

I can ask around the writer's family, see what they think.

Then I could ask people who aren't in that family who are writers.

    10,000 is a nice limit I think.
Being a writer, it doesn't phase me.

And on the plus side, these limits can obviously be abolished since there was one before and not now.
So even if it does phase a problem, it can be erdicated, right?

EDIT: (@Sara:Below) Yeah i guess your right...they'll cast me out! 0_0
    Then what will I do...
    I'll still ask. It's worth a try.

Yeah, but you don't want to tick off a whole community along the way.

I was saying if we approve it, it'll piss off the writer's community if we DON'T ask. They probably won't mind being asked, most likely would appreciate it.

    An author's opinion

Hmm...KHVR is technically 150760 characters (for the time being). The second longest chapter in the Creativity Corner would be (as much as I hate to admit it), one of ICSP's chapters which is 30351 characters (unless I happened to miss the REAL second longest post in another part of the Creativity Corner). As for me, the longest post that I've done has 28632 characters (because I'm too lazy to stick them all in one or else I'd probably have one full post equal to or DOUBLE that of KHVR.) In that case, I'd suggest on making the limit 200000 characters. It gives KHVR some leeway it it's not done (I haven't been keeping up so I wouldn't know) If not, then screw the limit. It'd f*** up any person that manages to automerge a double post. In fact that would be the only way to defeat the limit, by automerging their posts.

So, yes if it's 200000 (or more) characters. I disagree with any limit lower than that.

BTW, if you want to TRULY know how much space a post takes, try using Notepad, Wordpad or EditPad. THEN copy and paste it (with all formatting codes) into Microsoft Word and run the spell-check. The summary will show how many characters there are total, and they're definitely more than three pages.

Nope. My rants have been much much much much more than a 1000 chars, I don't like it.
