At least the gas wasn't flammable enough that turning on the light set it all on fire. Was still dying at this rate though, so needed something to do. Well, back to what he was doing; going to the other door and trying to open it, least pounding on it if that fails to make some noise and maybe draw help.

"What are you doing here?"

"Hey, if I may ask... just what exactly were you doing here and what were you doing with that body? Also, where is your group?"

Brady hesitated, unsure if he were allowed to answer their questions. He stood there for a moment, in an awkward silence, waiting for his kidnappers to say something--for the familiar static in his ear to pick up again. Nothing. He cleared his throat, looking to the two male highschoolers. "I, uh... I-" The boy stopped and quickly glanced at the body, a shiver running through him. He hadn't purposely looked at the corpse, hoping he would never have to see it again. He still felt utterly disgusted with himself.

Jenn decided to lead the group to... wherever he was going. Anywhere was better than here. Though, despite not knowing where to go, he still seemed confident, which added a feeling of safety. That, coupled with being in the group itself, made Brady feel very secure. It was a... nice feeling, maybe, exploring the dark halls with other people. Nobody spoke a word though, but it was with good reason, he reckoned. Finally, they reached a room filled with supplies. Brady was honestly surprised that Jenn had been able to lead them somewhere, let alone a place with a surplus of food and weapons. Even though the weapons made him uneasy, he still managed to smile as he looked at the food before him.

After eating what Jenn passed to him, Brady felt a little better. He was definitely in a more stable condition than prior, and even felt relaxed enough to answer the questions raised by Kaied and Aeron. He looked to them.

"To answer your questions from before, they told me to leave my group behind and go to the challenge room to move Sancia's... body. I had no flashlight, so I had to find the room that you guys found me in in the dark. I was scared that once I brought her to the room, they were going to kill me. But then you guys showed up, so if they were planning on it, they missed their chance thankfully."

Brady released a shaky breath.

"Oh... and they also told me to..." Brady stopped mid-sentence as his body jolted violently and he fell to the floor, the electric pulses traveling through his body. He released a short shriek as he fell that echoed in the room. The static rung in his ear. "You've said enough."

Tears welling in his eyes, he looked to the rest of his new group and shook his head no at them.

"That's all... that's all that happened..."

 

The door won't open from the inside.
Something shines in the dim lighting,
attached to a wire hanging from one of the electrical boxes.

No good with the door, so moving away. The only other thing that catches his eye were some electrical boxes. There was a key...but around it were wires. Knowing keys it would probably shock him by touching it. If only he could cut it... Or maybe he was just being paranoid. But with gas and this dangerous game paranoia was good in his opinion. But in any case he didn't have anything to use here. He'll just stick his hand in his sleeve and, unable to properly grab it like this, try to see if it shakes loose.

 

Ethan gets electrocuted and is rendered unconscious.

"Oh... and they also told me to..."

Jenn jumped as Brady screamed and lurched forward onto the floor. Jesus, man... He rushed to the kid's side and helped him up. You all right?

"That's all... that's all that happened..." Jenn blinked. Brady acted like he didn't hear him. For a second he seemed... distracted. And that jolt had looked like the shock collar going off. He could put two and two together from there, but he decided not to make a scene of it, lest their captors set it off again. He tried to convey what he knew to Brady with a solemn glance, but he had no idea if it sent the right message or not-

Thump thump thump.

...Did you guys hear that? Jenn sprung to his feet. He turned towards the opposite side of the room and listened intently. Then it came again, louder. Thump, thump, thump. Forward and right. He broke into a run, not stopping to see if anyone followed, down the hall and towards the sound. He came to a battered-looking door and pressed his ear against it. Hello?

Almost instantly as he spoke he heard a sharp jolt. Oh shit... Jenn flung the door open, and instantly caught a blast of something noxious that staggered him and made him cough hard. He stumbled to his feet once more and tried to see into the room, but his eyes had begun to water. Ugh, fuck... He rested against the wall as he spat out several more shuddering coughs, then cleared his throat and wiped his eyes. As his vision stabilized, he pushed into the room once more, one hand over his face, the other clutching the shield close to his chest. He wished he'd brought one of those blankets...

As he started to adjust to the room, he looked around and spotted Ethan in a heap beneath some electrical boxes, arm outstretched towards something shiny. H-hey, Ethan... Ethan! U-ugh, he sputtered, and knelt by the boy's side, trying to hoist him up onto his shoulders. C'mon buddy... I gotcha...

 

Jenn has found Ethan.
The door is open.

Jenn stumbled back towards the door, Ethan slung over his shoulder like a wet rag. He laid the kid against the wall in the hallway, then threw the door shut and collapsed against it. His throat still burned, and he coughed again and wiped more tears from his eyes. Okay, he breathed, okay...

After a moment's recuperation, he shoved himself upwards again and rounded the corner, shouting through the open door to the supply room. H-HEY! Somebody... bring some blankets! Someone's p-ugh-passed out over here...

It was a good thing that they had managed to find the supply room and were able to load up on stock. For here on out they would be much more prepared for whatever was to come and not die of starvation or lack of necessities. Jenn was the one who lead the group onwards, giving out food and materials that were needed. A certain box had caught his attention, but Jenn said nothing about it. As Jenn walked out, Aeron begun to follow, but was stopped by a hand grasping his shoulder

"Oi kid, wait up"

Glancing over his shoulder and stopping mid step, Aeron stared over Derron as the man walked off towards the box and pulled out a few knives. Walking up he handed a pair of knives towards Aeron and walked off.

"Just in case" Derron said placing away the knives he took.

Aeron stared down at the knives he was given and closed his eyes with a sigh before placing them away. Derron knew more than anyone in the group that the others were more than willing to kill if it meant their lives were at stake. Even so, knives were still a valuable tool. With that over, he caught up with Brady and stared over at him suspiciously. There was something the boy was hiding and it was no doubt the work of their captors.

Suddenly Jenn had made his way forward alone and Aeron reached out to try and pull back the male in vain. It was foolish for them to merely run off like this and by doing so right now he could be running off into a trap. In a mere moment Aeron heard the voice of Jenn calling out for a blanket and Aeron made his way to the place he was at with blanket in hand. Noticing the fallen boy next to Jenn, Aeron could only assume the blanket was for him and placed it over him. "What happened..." Aeron said staring over at the door they were near "and whats in that room..." Aeron said.

 

Ethan and Jenn are free of the Gas Chamber.
The key is left behind.
Ethan continues to remain unconscious.
The well is filling up with water quickly.

What happened? And what's in that room...?

Gas. Jenn shuddered and fell against the wall again, still amidst coughing fits. Toxic, probably. He felt dazed for a moment, before seeing Aeron drape the blanket over Ethan jogged his mind. He bent over Ethan and put his ear against the boy's chest. A faint ba-bump greeted him, and he breathed a sigh of relief. Not that toxic...

He gave Ethan's cheek a few firm pats, hoping to wake him. Eyes still on the kid, he cocked his head to speak to Aeron. He was... reaching for something. I think he got shocked... If he went that far, it must've been important. Then, to the kid, Ethan. Ethan, hey! You in there, man?

What was truly amazing was that the someone had just saved him. In this game where they were going to kill each other he was saved. This rendered his previous thoughts about only caring for himself and his memory a bit outdated.

Or maybe I died.

He felt so light. His head was floating, swarming with jolts. The shock left a tingling sensation throughout his body, though mostly his hand. That hand that felt so numb and was hard to move. Hopefully feeling in it returned with time...
Stirring now, bobbing his head as his eyes began to flutter open, the sound of people talking began bringing him back.

"What happened? And what's in that room...?"

"Ethan. Ethan, hey! You in there, man?"

The first thing he did when waking was cough. He was tempted to force himself to vomit, just to make sure all that gas was leaving his system. But even if he went through with it he was hardly conscious enough to do so. All the focus he could muster went into the words being spoken to him.

"The key..." spurting, he finally managed to speak. "They're trapped. Key... I need the key."

"They're trapped. Key... I need the key."

Trapped... Who's trapped? Where? Didn't really matter, he was gonna save them anyway. And that shining thing he saw must've been the key. So the kid got zapped reaching for it. If they wanted to get it, they'd need an insulator... Something to cover their arm. Jenn's brow furrowed; he wished he'd paid more attention in class. Work with what you know, he thought to himself. Electricity is basically heat, so... What insulates heat?

His eyes wandered to the blanket draped over Ethan. He took a fistful of it and rubbed it between his fingers. Rough and fuzzy... Wool.

Sorry, need this back, he said, and then whipped up the blanket. He ripped it in half, tied one piece tight around his neck and pulled it up over his mouth, then fashioned the other into a... glove, of sorts. It covered his arm up to the sleeve. Then he turned to Aeron. Take Ethan to the others, then come back with a blanket, do this to it (He pointed to his face) and wait outside the door. If you hear a shock, come get me.

 

Jenn enters the room.
The door shuts and locks behind him.
He reaches for the key, jiggling the wires.
Sparks fly and the wool blanket catches fire.
Smoke begins to fill the room as well.
The key lands on the ground.

Things had gotten out of hand quickly. Jenn went running and found Ethan in some room. He wasn't in the best of conditions. Jenn went back in alone. Dominic wasn't a fan of that idea considering the state Ethan was in. Even with the blanket on his face and whatnot, it wasn't a great plan. Only a minute or so had gone by before some strange noises came from inside the room. Dominic looked back to the others before shaking his head and squaring himself up to go in.

He pulled the door open, gas flooding into the hall. Dominic propped it open with a blanket, not risking getting locked in as well. He squinted his eyes and covered his mouth. It didn't take him long to stumble through the smokey room in the dim lighting and trip over something large. Dominic got to his feet and looked down to find Jenn laying still on the floor. He gave him a good shove with his foot, but there was no reaction. He sighed sadly and picked the key on the floor beside him.

Dominic coughed and hurried back out of the room, shutting the door behind him. He looked down at Ethan, holding the key up. ⌠What's this key for? Who needs help?⌡ He heard him say something before, about people needing help. Hopefully they weren't too late.​

That guy just ran back in there...

Sure that bravery was impressive, but it hardly seemed like the smart thing to do. That was proven when he didn't come back out.

"What's this key for? Who needs help?"

Time to stand and pray it's not already too late.

"There was a trap door where the others got stuck. If that key doesn't also open the door on the other end we'll have to go around the long way."

They tried making it through the Gas Chamber. The other door was locked on the inside as well. They quickly doubled back out of the room and began the long journey around. Ethan pointed out the door they had come through previously and everyone hurried inside.

The trap door was still latched shut and they hurried over with the key. Dominic stuck the key in the lock and twisted it back and forth, having a hard time getting it to release. He pulled on the latch and the lock came free. With help from the others, they got the doors pried open.

The well was filled to the brim with water. They all watched with concerned eyes, waiting to see if anyone was still alive. Three heads bobbed on the surface. They pulled them out of the water, onto the floor. The only one that started to breathe was Marilyn, coughing up water.

Everything had gone black for Marilyn. By the time the water had filled up he was already freaking out, trying to help the others out in his group to keep afloat, but the water filled up to the point where he could no longer find a bubble to breathe in. He held his breath hoping that someone would show up and save them in time, but he hit the 87 second mark, and everything went black for him.

The next thing Marilyn knew, he was coughing up and throwing up water. He felt incredible pain and he let out a sound of agony as he tried to slow down his breathing. He looked up and pain and let out through cries shakily, "A-are the-ey o-" he threw up and held his stomach and let out in a cry, "Are James and Matt okay!?"

Along with Aeron and the others, Derron rushed onwards trying to reach the others that was said to have been stuck under the well. With the way things were going on, Derron had a difficult time believing that those stuck in the well actually had a chance at getting out, especially with the time the Ethan kid was knocked out for.

Jenn was gone and as time was going on people were now dying. Even without those damn challenges there were still ways for them all to die and at moment he could not say how many of them had died yet due to all them being separated. The door did not open from inside the gas chamber, so the group rushed on and took the longer way.

Soon enough they managed to reach their destination and the trap door was opened up, only to revealed it was filled with water. Once the three heads bobbed up, Derron did not hesistate in the slightest and pulled them up. It was a miracle that the girl survived, but he couldn't say the same about the other two. When the girl asked what happened to the two, Derron simply responded. "Nope...dead" Derron said simply while Aeron brought out a blanket and wrapped it around the shoulders of the girl.
