Alex accepted the handshake before speaking."Nice to meet you too, Dennis. I'm Alex." He seemed to be a nice guy. Though when the butler had showed up with the new, he was less shocked as he was surprised by it. "That's certainly one way to find out a girl's interested in you." Not that he would know anything about that.
"Hey! Alex! Good to see you dude! How are ya? Fun-ass party, ain't it!?"
When he saw Natalie walk up to them, he was a bit glad. Aside from Dennis who'd he just met, he was around people he knew someway.
"And Zoey! We're back. Who's your new friend here? Never seem him before."
Aside from noticing that she had already met Zoey, he also realized just how she was being now. It was weird, she was never this loud all the other times they talk. That's when it him. "Natalie, are you drunk by any chance?" Judging by the look he got from Zoey, she was thinking the same thing.

Xara was caught into Natalie's arms. As much as she was liking being held in such a way, Natalie was out of control a bit. What to do to snap her out of her drunken state. A slap to the face might do well. But for now she would hold back until Natalie really got out of control.

They went back to Zoey who had been talking with some new people. Natalie was acting drunk as ever and losing her control. Xara looked at her and slapped her in the face. In her mind she was yelling at Natalie to control her self. To just calm the hell down. Her face was twitching in anger and someone heart break. No more booze are ever going into Natalie's system.

Ethan Stood in shock. This girl wished to go upstairs with him. That only could imply that she wanted to have some "fun". Ethan wouldn't. He couldn't. He needed to say no in some polite way though. "I'm sorry, Miss Sera. I am afraid I cannot go through with you idea. This is a party after all and leaving would be quite the rude act." He hoped this would stop her. If she was a real serious woman, she'd force him upstairs.

Dennis was still reeling on his seat. While at first he stopped breathing he lowered down to just pure nervous hyperventilation. His face was still just as fiery and was still red. His body, however, had managed to go from shaking uncontrollably to shaking uncontrollably and giving off a bunch of nervous twitches. His mind was racing so fast and was so confused that he didn't notice Natalie come over or even register Zoey's teasing. His mind was so fixated he probably could've just laid like that forever...that is until Zoey poked his face and pseudo snapped back into reality. He was apparently being introduced to this Natalie who smelled drunk and was apparently the person Zoey was conversing with earlier. Granted his mind was so preoccupied with other things that the smell of alcohol didn't even register to him.

"Y-y-y-yeah, D-d-d-Dennis is m-m-me." This was nowhere near good at all. His thoughts were so jumbled and his speech was starting to suffer. This situation was just so new to him. He had found some girls attractive before, Sophie even being one of them, but had never really managed the courage or self-confidence to even speak to them and as such never really learned anything about them. As such his little pseudo crushes were dropped in relativity short times. But never had he been in the scenario where a girl had called him attractive. It was such a new experience to him that he didn't even know what he was going to think, or what he was even supposed to think. He stood up, still shaking, and said,"I-um,I'm ju-j-just gonna go and walk, a bit, around," and he just sort of walked to the kitchen aimlessly.

He went to refrigerator and took a soda can to try and help him out. However even this task proved to be impossible in his current state. His fingers just sort of fumbled around the tab of the can, his other arm was shaking the can like it was a slinky. He put the can back and walked back to the group just in time to see someone else slap the drunk Natalie in the face, which he really didn't pay much mind to. He walked over to Zoey and asked, "h-h-hey, c-c-could I maybe, talk to you, in private, m-m-maybe?" He didn't even wait for a response before grabbing her arm and pulling her over to a secluded room.

He collapsed on his legs and started going hysterical. "Zoe-Zoey, you gotta, gotta help me out here. I-I've got no idea what to say, what to do, what to think. I'M SO CONFUSED!" He realized he was quite loud with that last bit but he still didn't even care. He hoped that his new friend, who happened to be a girl, could give some sort of insight on to his current internal struggle.

Seraphina felt her cheeks burn. What did he think she was going to do? Hm... he was a bit odd after all. "Well, I don't really think anyone would notice, besides, I just want to talk for a bit, it won't be long." She said, with a hint of flirtatiousness in her voice. "And, you weren't really talking to anyone in the first place..." She said, moving closer to him.

Her heart pounded a little bit, what the heck was she doing, she didn't even know anymore, but she didn't really care. "Really, I'm not that bad." She said.

Well everything certainly became topsy turvy all the sudden. She opened her mouth to say something to Dennis to try to calm him down. Obviously the guy was having some kind of a nervous breakdown. Goodness. But before she was able to say anything, Dennis had fled the room. "Okay...?" She raised an eyebrow watching him go before she heard a slap and abruptly turned her attention to Xara and Natalie. Apparently Xara had just slapped Natalie across the face out of no where, and it was pretty loud too. She let her mouth open, covering it up as she looked back to Alex again, then to Xara. "It's okay, Xara. Really. Natalie is okay. Are you okay, Natalie?" the girl asked, taking the finished grape lollipop out of her mouth, sticking the stick of it in her jean pocket. Zoey was trying so hard not to suddenly revert back to her past. No. Not here, not now. No, no, no-

"h-h-hey, c-c-could I maybe, talk to you, in private, m-m-maybe?"

Zoey blinked her eye, glancing up at Dennis in confusion. "Me? Why-AH!" She was suddenly yanked from the couch, being dragged behind by a nervous Dennis and away from the gathering crowd. "Sorry Alex! Maybe we can talk another time?" she shouted over her shoulder before she was yanked into a secluded room.

"Dennis, what in the world are you-?"

"Zoe-Zoey, you gotta, gotta help me out here. I-I've got no idea what to say, what to do, what to think. I'M SO CONFUSED!"

She blinked a moment, the anger and confusion dropping from her eye. So that's what this was about, huh? She sighed out, placing her hands on his shoulders. "Dude, chill out first. Calm down, take some deep breaths. Inhale, aaaaaaah, and exhale, phewwwwww." Zoey let go of Dennis' shoulders, looking into his eyes. "Okay... Judging by what's been going on, mostly everyone has been drunk and admitting things and saying things that are like, deep down inside of them. Sophie finds you attractive. Yay. But... not trying to burst you bubble, but it's like telling a girl she's cute or something." She shrugged her shoulders, turning her head slightly to the side. "You don't get compliments much, do you."

...We can chase the dark together; if you go, then so will I...

She could barely make out what her best friend has said before she felt another weight press on the bed then suddenly, warmth. He crept in close to her, so close their faces would almost touch and he wrapped his arms around her small frame and held her close. She snuggled into him, slipping her arms under his and holding him. She always liked cuddling with Richie the most. It was just nice, friendly closeness - completely platonic even though they were probably too close for most people's comfort.

She could smell the alcohol that lingered in both of their breaths. She felt her eyelids getting heavier and heavier as they cuddled in silence. She did love being with her best friend like this, but sometimes she did wish it were someone else for a change. She was an only child at home - she didn't exactly have siblings to cuddle with. She'd cuddle with her parents some times and that was nice - but they were usually busy as well. It would have been nice if there were someone else. Sometimes she just wished it was a new friend, but of course, sometimes she wished for more. She had fantasies of snuggling under the covers with Bryan - wrapped in each others arms with him protecting her as they watched a Disney movie or in the theaters or slept. She imagined him smelling so sweet and his body being so warm. She could have had her chance a moment ago, but of course, she messed that up completely.

Her best friend suddenly shifted in bed, apologizing as he detangled himself from her and left the room. She let out a small whimper as she watched the door close before her, pouting her lips. She lay her head back down on the pillow. She was all alone again. She cuddled into the pillows and the bed sheets, still longing for someone to hold her.

As tired as she was, she didn't find herself asleep - but she had no intention of getting up either. The teen rolled in bed, tossing herself on her other side with her back facing the door. She clutched the side of her pillow tightly, wondering if Richie was alright. She could already guess why he left so suddenly. She also suddenly wondered where her camera was and what became of it. She sure hoped it wasn't broken or anything. She thought about Bryan. She wondered what he was thinking now and where he was. She still wanted to hold him and feel his warmth on the cold, Christmas night. She thought about Zach too. Where was he? Oh she hoped he was okay too.

She let out a sigh. She was acting like a lonely, little child. When was Richie going to go back to her?

Erik listened silently to Elisa as she went on about them all sleeping together. His cheek brushed against her side and he sighed. Kids. She was cute, but also a teenager. Plus, it sounded like she was more interested in Bryan who was also closer to her in age. He had set her down gently on the bed and ignored her pleadings for them not to leave. Erik followed Bryan until they found the lounge that the younger one had mentioned. They sat down and he let out an exasperated sigh.

"This is quite the house," Bryan said, leaning back into the couch, and then eyed the confiscated bottles on the table. "I don't understand what's so great about this stuff," he muttered, sniffing the bottle of whiskey. Bryan took a swig before setting it down.

Erik wasn't in much of a drinking mood anymore. "There isn't," he replied simply and pulled the bottle away from him.

"How was your Christmas morning?" he asked Erik.

Erik shrugged and leaned back in the chair. "Quiet and boring. I don't see family so it's just me. What about you? I can imagine it being a little more active at your house." He had noticed Bryan picking at his scarf earlier and he pointed at it. "Did you sister get you that?"

    ************************

"Maria... thank you... Thank you but you just don't get it." his voice was shaky, strong but shaky. He shook his head slightly, inhaling a sniffle that escaped him. "It's more than that. More than you'll ever know... More than I can ever say."

Why wouldn't he just leave? If he was so dedicated to not explaining, he might as well go. Maria was growing angry with Tucker. He still hadn't even explained whether or not he liked her, just that he was afraid of being close. She bit her lip and rose to her feet, letting the flowers fall down onto the bed. She brushed past him and walked to the door, unlocking it. Her hand rested on the knob when she turned back to him. Her knuckles were white and squeezing the cold metal was all that kept her from breaking down. "I won't ever understand if you don't talk to me Tucker. I told you how I feel, and you still haven't even said anything about your feelings, just that you're afraid. But you won't tell me why you're afraid. You look at me like I'm going to hurt and I don't understand. How could I possibly hurt you?" She was practically pleading with him.

She pulled the door open and stepped aside, turning to face the window. "If you don't want to be here then you should just go. I'm sorry for having made everything messy between us." Tears began to well up and she walked to the window, resting her hands on the icy cold sill. "We can just pretend like nothing ever happened if you want. It'll be--" her voice broke, "--It'll be fine. I swear..."

    Frederick "Freddie" Anderson
    DAY: 5 - 3/4 | DATE: December 25, 2015 | LOCATION: Sophie's House

After the play, Freddie had gone home to pick up somethings from his bathroom. Sophie had invited him to her house for the after party. It was nice of her to include him in the activities, all things considered. He had nothing to do with the play other than buying a ticket and watching. Whatever. It'd be fun to have a party. All he got from his bathroom was his toothbrush and some toothpaste. He definitely didn't want to bring Aria since there would be alcohol there. Freddie + Aria + Drunk People = No fun at all.

Unfortunately, on his way to her house, there was massive traffic. Something had happened somewhere and it was affecting him. He sat in traffic for hours on end. It was a nightmare. Sitting there, waiting to move, even an inch. He had nothing to do since he left Aria at home. With boredom rearing its ugly head, he turned on the radio. Luckily, the station he tuned to was playing AC/DC songs the whole day. That would keep the boredom away for a while.

The hours passed, and he had barely gone a couple of miles from where he was before. He started to slowly bang his head against the steering wheel of his car. Freddie looked at his watch to check the time. 12:49 already.
"Aaaaaah, I am so fucking late, already. She is gonna kill me." Sophie wasn't one to tolerate people being late. He knew that for sure.

Even more time had passed and the traffic had finally let up. About f
ucking time, too. It was almost 1:39 already. He rushed to Sophie's house as fast as he could. He didn't know for sure if there was anything he could do to make it up to her, but he sure as hell had to do something.

Against all odds, Freddie finally found his way over to her house. Granted, it was a little past two already.
"I am so dead." He quickly parked his car in a nearby, empty space and made his way to the door. He rang the doorbell, hoping nothing too major had happened while he was stuck in traffic. Still, he prepared himself for the worst from Sophie.

Upon hearing Zoey's ridiculously sound advise his mind cleared up a bit. His heart rate, which was going crazy, returned to a normalish and he was no longer completely hyperventilating. His face also started to cool down a bit and he tried his best to calm himself down. 'I mean really? I need to stop being so damn awkward to every little thing a person says. Like a person like Sophie would ever seriously consider a guy like myself. Alcohol and everything too. That was probably just the alcohol talking and it had no deeper meaning behind it at all. Just steady your mind and get off this topic. Staying on it will probably just lead to something really weird.' After kind of internally berating himself with his thoughts for how stupidly he acted, he just sort of tried to shake the whole thing off. Granted as much as he was forgetful, he was pretty sure that comment about him was going to stick inside his head for awhile now and any and all encounters with Sophie were going to be met with some sort of awkwardness now.

"You don't get compliments much, do you?"

He was pretty close to his usually jovial demeanor and said, "yeah not really. You see I don't talk to people very often since I'm kind of bad at, well, talking to people." He started to chuckle a bit. "Well because of that people think I'm a tad anti-social, which I guess I sort of am. But yeah, so I hardly ever hear anything that's directed at me that isn't from like a teacher or something." Letting out a deep breath he sighed and then laughed a bit. He stood back up, still quivering a bit, but not nearly as bad as before. "Well thanks for the talk, just what I needed. I'm pretty sure I over-reacted and sorry about that. I kind of need to learn how to socialize a bit better."

"Aaaannyyywayyy, deviating from that slight episode of mine, we should probably get back to the group as to not keep them waiting up. Also if my panicky memory serves me correctly, then I think that one of those friends of yours was horribly drunk and that doesn't seem like a good state to be left in. Plus the night is still...well it's probably really early morning now but it's still a party damn it. So let's go party!" He said the last a bit theatrically as to add some humor to it. He was kind of hoping this would deviate from his panic and they could get back to the party. Then he noticed that neither she nor he still had their respective lollipops on hand, which was really bad because it could probably really help calm himself down right now. Chuckling a bit he said, "and when we get back I'll even throw in another free lollipop for your troubles."

Bryan had been embarrassed, to say the least, when both Richie and Elisa showed a physical interest in him. Richie, most of all. He felt dirty just hearing what he said. Dear god, his face had been really red. He decided to definitely not mention that to him or Elisa in the morning.

"There isn't," Erik said after he set the bottle of whiskey down, and then Erik took it away. Bryan had seen him drinking beer, and wondered why, if he didn't like it, he drank it anyway. He guessed there were some things better better left out of the conversation.

"Quiet and boring. I don't see family so it's just me." Bryan frowned; that sounded lonely. "What about you? I can imagine it being a little more active at your house. Did your sister get you that?"

He looked down at his scarf, realizing that he was messing with the tassels again. He smiled warmly at it. "Yeah," he said thoughtfully, "Actually, she made it for me. It's really soft — . . . Wanna feel?"

It was a bit of an odd question to ask, asking to feel the scarf, but he didn't see much wrong with it. For a second, Bryan thought about taking it off and handing it to him, but since they were sitting on different couches across from each other, and there was enough space on the other for the both of them . . .

Bryan got up and moved to the other side, not sitting too close to Erik, but just enough for acquaintances. He pulled at the soft green fabric a bit and then let Erik feel it. "Makes me feel a little bad since I bought her just a necklace . . . I hope she liked it, though." he commented.

"Christmases aren't as great as they used to be when I was younger. A lot of things have changed . . ." Even last year was more brighter than this year, but he guessed it still wasn't so bad. "No presents for you, though? Hmm . . ." He looked around and only found his Coke can that was still unopened because he had gotten distracted with Richie and Elisa. He grabbed it and then held it out to Erik, "Merry Christmas, Erik." he said with a bright smile that touched his eyes.

    It was a little silly, but . . .

His chestnut eyes immediately followed the blonde who stood and walked to the door. Wh-what? Was she leaving? Had he done something wrong? He looked at her standing there, with a click she unlocked the door but didn't head out. The guilt inside of him rose and everything just felt wrong and sad and horrible.

"I won't ever understand if you don't talk to me Tucker. I told you how I feel, and you still haven't even said anything about your feelings, just that you're afraid. But you won't tell me why you're afraid. You look at me like I'm going to hurt and I don't understand. How could I possibly hurt you?"

His insides were going crazy. He felt like he was going to vomit. He clasped a hand over his lips, horrified at how everything was going so far. Her last words really, really disturbed him - mostly because he knew it was true. How could she hurt him? Ignoring what he's been through, he really didn't know but she was right. He still looked at her as if she could hurt him - because not ignoring what he's been though, he could think of so many ways how her, well not even Maria specifically but just anyone in general, he could think of so many ways on how they could hurt him.

He heard the door creak open and some light from the hallway had creeped in. Did she noticed the tears in his eyes because of the light now? God, he was such a wimp. Crying again. He looked up to see that she wasn't even looking at him.

"If you don't want to be here then you should just go. I'm sorry for having made everything messy between us. We can just pretend like nothing ever happened if you want. It'll be--" her voice broke, "--It'll be fine. I swear..."

Wow, he really wanted to vomit. He didn't move from his place for a moment. He felt so terrible. He hadn't felt this terrible in a while. He felt like for a moment, he kind of deserved a punishment right now - one of those punishments. He just felt like pulling his hair out and running away and sobbing all on his own. How could he have done something like that to Maria and not even realize? He was such a jerk, wasn't he?

He couldn't even think anymore. He walked forward and placed his hand on the open door's knob. It was cold - as if Maria, who stood by the window, had never touched it. It was like her warmth and sweetness had all gone. Were they… were they just going to end there? Was he never going to see her the same ever again? He already knew the answer to that.

He gulped, then shut the door in front of him. He didn't leave. He couldn't. He took steps back into the room. It felt like he had to drag himself back inside, drained from all the thoughts and emotions that ate on his energy. He took a shaky breath in, separating his lips. He stopped a couple feet away from the blonde, looking at how her platinum locks reflected the little light coming from outside. "P-please don't leave me…" he started. His tone was calm but pitiful - as if one of a child. He felt very much like a child as he gazed at her. It was like when a child returned to his parent after doing something so horribly wrong and asking for forgiveness even if the child knew he didn't deserve it. "I'm scared."

His hands balled into fists again. He looked down at the side, feeling some tears rolling down his cheeks as he blinked. He couldn't look at her and tell her at the same time. He bit down at his lip hard, fighting back sobs. His breathing was very unstable and shaky. Voices started coming into his mind,

'If you tell anyone I'll put this bullet through your skull.'
    'Don't think.'
    'You have to be careful.'
'Someone's going to break down the walls you put around yourself one day, Tuck.'

He shut his eyes tightly, fighting them away and feeling his nails dig into the palm of his hands. He bit down at his lip so hard he couldn't even feel it anymore. He opened his tearful chestnut eyes anymore, fixing his stare at where the wall met the floor to his side. "My father… he's… he's- he is Benjamin Knowles…. if- if you don't know who he is- he's- he's" his voice cracked in a sob and he shook his head frustratingly. God. He still couldn't do it. He still couldn't say it.

Zoey was one to understand these emotions almost perfectly. She shook her head when Dennis regained himself, smiling at him. "Hey, who's been the anti-social one for the last couple of years." She pointed to herself, smiling a bit. "Yeah, I hardly know anyone at this party save Alex, and I just met him yesterday. Xara and Natalie, just met them like fifteen minutes ago. You, just after that." She sighed out, stretching her arms above her head. "You just need to chillax. Nothing to worry about, really."

Yeah, and she was being a total hypocrite saying that kind of stuff.

"Our social skills are probably at a white belt level, if we compare it karate. Just needs to be worked on. The more people we interact with, the better skilled we get."

She figured that their talk was pretty much over. She was just glad she could help out like she did. If she went into one of her anxiety attacks, she would want a familiar face to try to ease her out of it. So far so good though. No anxiety attacks. No blood. Nothing that has brought back the bad memories that made her eye what it was today. Almost, but not quite.

"Aaaannyyywayyy, deviating from that slight episode of mine, we should probably get back to the group as to not keep them waiting up. Also if my panicky memory serves me correctly, then I think that one of those friends of yours was horribly drunk and that doesn't seem like a good state to be left in. So let's go party! and when we get back I'll even throw in another free lollipop for your troubles."

Zoey couldn't help but to chuckle, shaking her head. "No thank you, I think I had enough sweets for one day. And really, it's no trouble at all." She smiled gently at him, venturing back out into the hallway to head back to the party. "Trust me, I'd want someone to do the same for me if I fell into a state like that." She repeated what she thought of earlier, not even looking at Dennis. But she wanted to verbalize it. What if it was to happen and no one knew what to do? They would think she was a freak, mental... Just like...

She pushed that thought out of her head, looking over her shoulder. "Come on, let's head back." She gestured him to follow before she waltzed back into the living room and headed back to the small group. "Sorry about that party animal peeps. Did we miss anything?"
...We can chase the dark together; if you go, then so will I...

    WEATHERSNOWING, COLD 26°! ✖『DATE & TIME』 12/26/2015 - 1:45AM ✖『DAY』 05

Noëlle was unhappy. She didn't much like the thought of getting drunk around these people, nor did she like the idea of getting into a pool, indoor or not, in twenty degree weather, or engaging in sexual intercourse with any of the available guests. Fatigue and hunger consumed her more than anything, and she found herself sipping on a soda and eating snacks somewhere on the first floor.

She wanted to go home. It was late, Christmas had dragged on forever, and there was nothing she felt like doing here. Most of the night was spent occasionally smiling at people she knew, who passed her, and being as socially evasive as possible, without coming across as a total prude. It was funny to her, though, how easily people just kind of ... indulged. She wasn't sure if anyone had had sex yet, but throw a bunch of young adults and teenagers into a house with no responsible supervision and some risque activities and watch 'em go nuts, she guessed. It wasn't everyone, but it was enough to be really annoying, and just the thought of such sheep mentality irritated her!

That's what she told herself, at least.

The play had gone on without a hitch and she had attended the after-party with full intent on enjoying herself. Somehow, though, that just ... didn't happen. Maybe in the beginning she hadn't been in such a bitter mood, but the night dragged on and her eyes got heavier and heavier, she found herself basically soaking in a self-created storm of negativity; brooding over everything that was wrong in her life and with the world.

    She was lonely.

When her sixth soda was finished, she picked herself up and started on a search for the bathroom. After that she would go find Bryan and ask when he wanted to leave, assuming they'd go together ... On second thought, maybe she'd just try to get home herself.

    . ' .

Discarded clothing lay all over the white-carpeted floor in a dark room, where a king-sized bed lay in the center, against the northern wall of the large room. Two nude figures, one much taller than the other, tangled themselves together on the sheets.

    L - Lucas - . . .

Sophie would go for as long as it took her to forget how angry and upset she was at and with Quentin. She would not let something silly like emotion rule her mood. That wasn't how Sophie Bennett functioned. She messed with other people's heads — no one messed with hers.

She quickly became distracted with a trail of kisses that ran down her neck while the slow and thoughtful, back-and-forth back and forth movement continued. If Lucas was good for anything, it was definitely a distraction.

Damn you f - for being so good with y - your mouth,❞ she muttered against his bare, pale shoulder, and then opened her mouth on it to place a bit of a harsh bite. Just a moment later, she gasped out in pain at the sudden force being exerted on her.

Do not become too cavalier, Nico, Lucas murmured against her neck.

Scowling petulantly, Sophie gave a lick to the area where she had drawn a little blood.

    2 : 1 9 A M

Still a little peevish, Sophie curled into Lucas' bare side who cordially adjusted himself to let her be however she pleased. Lucas.

    Yes, Nico?

    I'm completely drunk.

    You are.

Why did you let me drink so much?

You would have bit me harder.

    You would have liked that.

Perhaps, but your mood would have been a lot worse had I not.

Sophie had no real retort that wasn't driven by her drunken nature. Silence fell. Just a few minutes later, there was a knock on the door.

    He's found us.❞

Indeed. What would you like to do?

Answer the door for me. It's dark, he won't be able to see me inside.

Very well, if you say so.

Quickly, before another knock could come, Lucas pulled on his briefs, his slacks, and his dress shirt that was then nimbly tucked into his black slacks and buttoned up, while his tie was slipped around his neck and straightened out. His shoes were slipped on after his socks and it took all of one minute for him to clean himself up.

He walked to the door and Sophie watched carefully. When he opened it, Quentin ( she knew it ) was standing there, looking a bit confused and trying to see past the taller Lucas and into the dark room. He cleared his throat, Is Sophie around . . . ?

Lucas didn't move from his spot, but in the dark, Sophie saw his hand move behind his back, speaking in Sign Language that said 'Yes or no? ' In reply, as quietly as she could, she tapped the wall behind her twice, saying for 'No.' It seemed that Quentin didn't hear, luckily.

Not currently, try the lounge on the first floor, I believe I last saw her there. Lucas replied smoothly, but Quentin didn't look appeased.

Mmm . . . Well, if you see her, tell here I — . . . I want to talk to her. he claimed with a little more volume, and a part of Sophie knew that Quentin knew she was in the dark room, hiding. He walked away and Lucas closed the door.

    Nico . . . ?

Don't turn on the light, she quickly said, and a tried-to-be-controlled sniffle followed. Lucas was quiet and decided not to patronize her.

I will be in the monitor room if you need me. he offered, and then the door closed and Sophie was alone.

    2 : 2 6 A M

She was definitely drunk, but it didn't really feel like it. She could see just fine, walk just fine, her breath smelled a little worse for the wear — mostly of alcoholic strawberries, but nonetheless.

Deciding not to put her dress back on, Sophie slipped a tank top, underwear, and a dark teal cardigan that passed her hips and looked a bit over-sized. The doorbell rang downstairs and she walked out of her room, turned down the hallway, went down a staircase, passed Bryan and Erik, turned down two more hallways, went down another staircase, and right before she reached the door, there was Lucas, opening it. She scowled at him and the opened door revealed —

You're late. Sophie marched right up to Freddie, having to crane her neck a little, and jabbed a finger into his chest. You're lucky I don't hate you, otherwise I would have Lucas throw you into the outside pool and lock you in there. Even though she was perfectly coherent, Freddie could usually tell when she was drunk.

    And boy, was she drunk.

    DAY: 5 - 3/4 | DATE: December 25, 2015 | LOCATION: Sophie's House

After waiting at the door for a little bit, the door opened. When it was fully opened, Lucas was standing at the other side of it. Freddie was about to say hi to Lucas when Sophie popped out from behind him. She was dressed very lazily, only wearing a tank top, underwear, and a large dark teal cardigan. There was a scowl on her face. That wasn't surprising, all things considered.

She marched right up to Freddie and poked him in the chest,
"You're late." Sophie was wasted, that was immediately clear to him. "You're lucky I don't hate you, otherwise I would have Lucas throw you into the pool and lock you in there." That really was lucky, especially in this freezing weather. He definitely did not want to end up a Freddie Popsicle.

"Well, I really am sorry I'm late. Didn't choose to be late though. Traffic was horrible, y'know?" He shrugged his shoulders as he talked to them. It was the truth, though he didn't know why he was trying to reason with a drunk person. He was really curious why she was dressed so lazily though. He knew she was wearing a dress earlier. Freddie looked at Lucas and Sophie closely and saw a bite mark on Lucas's shoulder. A wry smile crawled across his face. "You guys totally fucked, didn't you?"

    . ' .

Well, I really am sorry I'm late. Didn't choose to be late though. Traffic was horrible, y'know?

Sophie glared at him as he nonchalantly shrugged his shoulders, though she was overreacting. Excuses. she huffed, crossing her arms and turning on her heel to start walking.

You guys totally fucked, didn't you? Freddie asked, and from the tone of his voice, Sophie could tell he was smiling without having to look at him. Subconsciously, she buttoned up her cardigan.

Jealous , Freddie? she asked, and then around the corner, Quentin appeared, and she stopped, seeing the look on his face.

Great, Quentin had heard. He looked at Lucas, then back at her, then back at Lucas. Without another word, he turned around and walked away. Sophie looked up at Lucas, then over her shoulder at Freddie. Well, this was just wonderful. Save the sulking for later, Sophie. she told herself, and then shrugged the hand off her shoulder and continued to walk.

She cleared her throat. What was it, some kind of traffic jam? Perhaps a car wreck? she asked Freddie. It was mostly a distraction, though she was happy ( she wouldn't tell him that ) he was here, now. He was lucky that he didn't show up before, otherwise it probably would have been him in her bed, instead of Lucas. God, that was such a bad, sloppy move to have let Quentin hear that — especially when she hadn't meant for him to.

She led the two boys into the kitchen, where she told Lucas to mix her a Long Island, using the strawberry rum instead of the white rum. He complied without consent, and then began on the drink after serving Freddie whatever he wanted.

It seems there has been a car wreck not too far from here, Nico. Lucas replied after setting down her tall glass. She picked it up and sipped at it, raising an eyebrow, and then looked at Freddie. If there was anyone else in the kitchen, she wasn't quite paying attention to them because her mind was chaos, pathetically drowned in alcohol.

Pierce had sat at the kitchen table by herself for quite some time. It took awhile for her to receive a reply from her mother and by the time she did, it was already late. Her brown eyes scanned over the words quickly and she groaned in frustration. Her mother had been called in to work overnight at the hospital. It was a good thing, really, but that meant she was stuck here. Mrs. Mhenjer offered to send someone to get her, but Pierce didn't want to burden whomever it was that drove all the way out here.

Everyone was getting very drunk and it made her uncomfortable. It would have been nice to have a drink or two, but not here--not with all these other people around. She had sipped on some juice and picked at a plate of food for awhile, pretty much right up until she received a message from her mom. If it hadn't been the middle of winter, she would have walked home. Sophie didn't live close by, by any means, but it was better than nothing. She was used to Sophie saying hurtful things to her and tormenting her, but tonight was different. She didn't even know if she liked Oliver, let alone whether or not he really liked her. How could he? It's a long shot that he likes you because you're Pierce. Sophie couldn't have said it any better.
The kitchen emptied for a little while and she decided to leave it, not wanting to interact with really anyone. She got up from her spot at the table and clutched her cellphone tightly in one hand. There had to be some place she could go. Lucas always seemed to be everywhere and Pierce was starting to get the feeling that there were surveillance cameras hidden everywhere. She didn't want to be found, not til morning. Her feet seemed to carry her in no particular direction. She opened and closed door after door looking for a place to hid. On occasion there would be a locked and she would walk past it wondering what was in there. She had even managed to find Sophie's room after some time. Pierce had debated just staying there until her friend came back, but then she would have to deal with a drunk Sophie and she just pictured a drunk Sophie being way more mean than a sober one.
Finally, she found a small broom closet on the first floor. It was spacious enough for her to curl up inside. She tucked her legs in close to her chest and pulled her phone out. She shut the door and found a cord hanging from the single bulb in the closet. It lit to reveal cleaning odds and ends in the four foot by four foot room. Her phone added some extra light and she rested her head against the wall. It smelled like bleach and other cleaners, but she didn't mind it much. Be honest, you two barely know a thing about each other — if he did like you, what was he basing that off of? Pierce bit down on her lip and sniffled in her hiding space. She would wait in here until morning, no matter how uncomfortable it was. She looked at the time on her phone. It was pretty late already. Christmas had ended not long ago and now all she wanted was to leave. Her finger tapped lightly on the phone, opening up her music. She picked one of her favorites by Jon McLaughlin and the sweet soft music floated around her in the closet.
It helped her calm down slightly. A shiver ran down Pierce's body and she rubbed her legs. There was no one else she had to talk to besides Sophie. Friends were too difficult to manage for her. She could always send a text to Oliver, but what would it say? Had he even come tonight? She hadn't seen him around. Being alone in the box office with him on Christmas was hard to manage. She just didn't know how to act around people.
Pierce sighed heavily and let her eyelids fall shut. The song changed to one more upbeat and Poppy, she changed it quickly--not in the mood for something like that. The sleeves of her dress rubbed against her skin and she wished for something to change into.

    WEATHERSNOWING, COLD 26°! ✖『DATE & TIME』 12/26/2015 - 2:45AM ✖『DAY』 05

    It was snowing.

Sure, it wasn't Christmas anymore, but it was still pretty scenic. Blurry white orbs of frozen rain drifting down sleepily from a mask of bloated white clouds. The warm glow of the streetlamps gave a beautiful shimmer to the thinly blanketed streets and sidewalks, and the sound of ice crunching underneath her boots brought her measurable reassurance.

Honestly, she had no idea where she was going at first. Her legs were cold under the thin stretch of nylon, and her arms were absorbing warmth from her chest, crossed, folded and tucked under her shoulders. She walked for a long while before the streets became familiar to her again, but even then, she would have a long while to go before she reached home.

Either the buses would start running again before she made it, or a taxi would pass by. [ She wished for the latter ]. Candlewood wasn't a particularly dangerous town, but it had been hardwired into her brain that walking alone in the dead of the night, as a woman, was always a bad idea. Somehow she just couldn't be bothered to initially give a shit.

    If something happened, it happened.

How irresponsible of me. At least I'm not drunk, too.

It didn't matter though. All this proved to her was that she needed a job, and a car of her own. Or a boyfriend. Or a friend.

Time alone had been nice, but now she was just cold and homesick. She thought back to the party and wondered what Bryan was up to. Had he drank? It would have been interesting, she thought, to see him drunk. Something she might have taken advantage of a year or two ago.

A bench came into view and she used one of her pale hands to sweep a bit of snow away, plopping down and drawing her phone out from her handbag. There were a couple of people she could usually turn to in situations like these. Bryan had fallen off of that list not too long ago, [ her mother had done the same a while back ], but Joey and Julius were still there.

Julius had been called first. He hadn't shown up to the party, and that was disappointing, but he generally answered her calls and messages as promptly as possible. That, and he would ask less questions than Joey would. When he didn't answer, worry was pushed aside, and Joey was called.

Mmn ... Y'ello? His voice was gruff and beyond groggy sounding. Thick and slurry ...

Are you drunk? It wasn't as much of a question as a blandly toned statement. He was useless if he was drunk.

What are you ... tal--king ...? What do you need? Is everything okay? The pause was enough indication. Unless he was just drunk on sleep deprivation. She sighed exasperated and a bit immaturely into the phone.

    Useless, useless, useless ...

Nothing, Joey. Go back to sleep. Sorry! She hung up the phone immediately after, and hoped he wouldn't call back.

Well, fine. She would sit out here for a bit, and then go back to walking. Maybe that taxi would stroll by ... or Julius would call her back. Or something ... Someone.

In the meantime, a cigarette was drawn and lit.

Before Natalie could do or say anything, Xara slapped her across the face. Hard. What the hell? What had Natalie done? She wasn't being dumb or anything, she was just socializing. It WAS a party after all.

"Hey what the hell Xara!?" She said loudly, giving Xara a shove. It wasn't with all her strength, but she didn't hold back as much as she should have. It was enough strength to send Xara to the ground. "Think you're all cool, slapping me for no ****ing reason!?"

    Sarah Coleman

    Outfit|Location: Sophie's House (Living Room)|Music|Mood: Frightened/shocked|OOC: N/A

Glancing over, Sarah saw Natalie standing over Xara, the former looking pretty pissed off. "Oh, great..." She got up and rushed over. "What happened?" She asked Alex, deciding to leave Xara and Natalie to solve this alone.

    --2:45 AM--

After Natalie had crudely pushed Xara down and Sarah had pulled her away before she did something stupid, she sat alone by the pool, not wanting to interact with anyone at all.

She had half a mind to just go home, but it was too late at night. Her mother would be asleep, and her siblings probably weren't around. Natalie gave a sigh. Hopefully she could just go unbothered all night. 'Really wish Lexi was still around... She was a lot more fun than this party without trying. Too bad I'm stuck here...'

Sarah sat with Alex. She had looked for Natalie a bit after her disagreement with Xara, but Natalie looked like she wanted to be alone. "So... Alex... How long have you known Natalie? She tells me she met you at camp."

He awoke slowly, blearily rising into a sitting position from the couch and yawning into a more awakened state. Where in the hell was he? He closed his eyes tight before popping them open again in realization. He was still at Sophie's place! He didn't feel as loosy goosy as he did before but he did feel like the world was shifting and his bladder had to explode. He leapt up and nearly fell over and barfed while he waited for the world to stop spinning. He learned his lesson and slowly but as fast as he could, he wobbly made his way to one door. Not the place with a toilet. It was a closet. The next door? Nope, a bedroom. He leaned against the next one and prayed for his bladder that it was what he sought. Thank the Lord that it was.

He didn't know what time it was but he didn't care. He had to go and he had to go now. His fist pounded on the door twice and he waited. The glowing light creeping from under the door told him someone was inside it so he pounded twice again. "Coooooome oooooon! Left his slightly inbreiated lips as he heard voices of other party goers still despite it feeling very late in the morning. A quick phone check said so. He wondered how Richie and Elisa were, maybe they had gone. Maybe he should too, Sophie seemed equipped to handle them all sleeping over. But it felt a little odd to spend the night. He shrugged and yolo'd in his head. Chuckling as he yolo'd again in his mind, that was such a funny word. His bladder alerted him that it was still not empty, so he pounded on the door again.
