    WEATHERCLEAR SKIES 56°! ✖『DATE & TIME』 6/19/2013 - 3:37AM ✖『DAY』 04

    I'm sorry . . . We're okay now . . . We're okay . . .

That was all she could really register for a bit, and all she wanted to hear. Bryan was a little beaten up, but overall alright and that was enough for her. The others had completely left her mind and were only just now fading back into existence. Julius had taken care of her, hadn't he? She would have to thank him. Her head ached but everything else felt relatively alright ...

The tears stopped falling after a bit as she considered their options, carefully.

    S - So what are we sup - posed to do n - now . . . ?

Bryan asked. A breeze rolled past and Noëlle relished in it. She was burning up and her body felt heavy, as if Bryan was the only thing keeping her standing.

What do you think we do?

Hey ... Noëlle's voice was weak, but still carried an identifiable warning. There was no need for him to be a jerk. They were all on high alert ... Bryan, of all people, didn't deserve that -- and not just because she loved him, either.

We leave. We all climb back in the truck and drive down the road we probably should have taken in the first place and leave. Now! Before anything else can happen.

Without anything else, he was throwing the driver's seat door open and getting inside. It slammed behind him and Noëlle sighed softly. She couldn't exactly blame him, could she? Her eyes scanned their group. Quite a few of them were unconscious, or still coughing. It made her nervous. And then ...

Alright then calm down and lets think a bit, first things first...now that we are out of the town make sure to breath in the clean air. If something feels wrong do not hesitate in the slightest to tell anyone. Next we've got to check the truck for anything of use. Maps, foods, tools or anything of use. Lets make sure to check every single place in the truck.

...and finally we have to deal with these two...sad to say...they are not the most stable in our group and we need to be weary of them.

Anything else anybody needs to add?

That seemed reasonable. Her lungs took in a deep breath of clean, cool air, though she hadn't taken in any of the mist. Her eyes dragged to Adrian, and then Lexi nervously. What happened?

One of the girls approached Julius and Noëlle stopped paying attention.

    Wha...what...w-what happened? I ...I did something bad...didn't I?

Noëlle stared at him. What was wrong with him? Was he insane? Yeah, the fire and the flood had been pretty bad ... and this ... but ... Some people really were rather fragile, weren't they?

She looked up at Bryan curiously.

    ... What happened to David?

Quentin continued to ask her how she could be so calm in a situation like this and she thought that he might be hating her a little because she wouldn't let him check on Noëlle. She wasn't sure why she didn't. Maybe it was out of sympathy for the two siblings. Watching them reunite after the horrifying events was a little heartwarming, she had to admit. So she gave them their time and left them.

Sophie decided that Quentin liked Noëlle, but he was plum out of luck because she also decided that Noëlle was too attached to her brother to care about other boys. She might actually be wrong about that, but they had spent many past summers together, so . . .

She thought about David, and Alexandra killing him. She stuck with the preference that killing him had definitely been a bad idea. The folks of Bentley, when they found out, would be none too happy about it, and then there was the matter of police involvement and the whole nine yards. Sophie would have no trouble confessing that it was Alexandra that had killed him. Murderers deserved to be punished if they really were guilty of their crimes. Ahaha.

Their situation was definitely a bleak one, but at least they had transportation, maybe. The mist might have done something to the truck that made it dangerous for them to use. It was cold. They didn't have any money. No food. Sophie sighed. Quentin had finally calmed down next to her, shivering a little. The motion made her clutch the pea coat she had one closer to her. It was a bit warm on the inside, but her legs were freezing.

    She decided to ignore that.

Gently patting Quentin on the head, she got to her feet, wobbly, and ambled over to the counselors, her hands shoved in her pockets. She looked at Julius, "Do you think that truck is going to get us back around to that fork without exploding?"

Before she got an answer, Erik was revved up and ready to get out. Sophie really hated hotheads. And group projects, which this counted as because they all had to make a group decision on what to do. She rather liked Julius' reply, though.

". . . And finally, we have to deal with these two . . ." he mentioned, "Sad to say . . . They are not the most stable in our group and we need to be wary of them." Julius closed his eyes -- well, eye.

"Can't we just leave them both here?" she suggested, sitting on the tail gate of the truck. Quentin coughed a laugh next to her and she looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "I'm being serious." she told him, frowning. "Anyway, it's obvious we cant stay here. And lugging these two bodies around while walking? It doesn't sound ideal. Either we take the truck, risk it exploding on us, or we can slap the two useless ones awake so they aren't dependent on us. If not, and we do have to walk, then I suggest we leave them here. Less trouble for us."

To her annoyance, Adrian came to. He was pathetic and she wasn't in the mood to appeal to his attention-whoring self.

". . . What happened to David?" she heard Noëlle ask Bryan.

"Alexandra did the idiotic thing and killed him, rather than knocking him out like I suggested before we got into the truck." Sophie replied, sounding bored, but feeling annoyed.

Adrian instantly frowned. He stood straighter. And he began to glare at everyone. "Okay," he began "Whatever I did, could've been wrong. OK? But leave her out of this. If anything, I'm starting to become the unstable one here. And what the hell happened??"

But Adrian didn't wait for an answer. He turned on Sophie. "From what it looks like, you spiteful little girl, is that this 'useless body bag' just saved your lives. I don't know what I did, and personally, I don't care now because it might be sickening, but you all need to a least think twice! And moreover," Adrian pointed at the blue-hair, "She needs medical attention."

Adrian leaned back once again. "Besides," He said, "Considering what's happened, I think all of you should worry about our survival, rather than picking off members. We may be unstable, but we're not worthless." He spat out worthless at Sophie like it was acid.

The young male coughed into his shirt once more. His throat really felt scratchy and his chest burned. Everyone around him looked just about the same, all messed up and sick. He felt someone bump into his right side and when he looked down, he froze again for a moment - his insides filling with worry. A beautiful young girl has knocked into him, she held her head with one hand and she seemed really off. She looked terrible. Pills were spilled in front of her. She was sweating a lot despite the cold and she just looked like she was about to... break. That's when she looked up at him, blinking her bright yet almost lifeless blue eyes at him. Her expression confirmed how unwell she must have been feeling.

Tucker immediately kneeled down and gently put an arm around her shoulder, pulling her close into him. Her platinum hair brushing at his jaw. He felt her dampened skin on his bare arm and her uneven breathing on his colar bones. She was cold. She was so cold. He could almost feel her shivering and shaking. She really wasn't well. He didn't really know what to do, other than hold her close, hoping that she would feel better - not alone and warmer. He placed his other hand on her arm comfortingly. He looked down at her, and spoke in gentle and whispered tones, "Everything's going to be alright, don't worry. Tell me, what can I do f-"

A loud slam coming from the truck after Bryan's soft voice completely took Tucker by surprise. He looked at the direction of the din immediately. His chestnut eyes looked up at Erik, who seemed very angry. He frowned as he watched him yell at Bryan. It reminded him how he snapped at Bryan as well in the candy store earlier. More guilt fell on him.

"We leave. We all climb back in the truck and drive down the road we probably should have taken in the first place and leave. Now! Before anything else can happen."

Erik left the group by reentering the truck, on its driver's side, slamming the door after him. He must have been really angry with everything. Tucker was kind of surprised how he wasn't overreacting again, in this time of danger, he kind of felt really null actually. All he thought of was what was happening now and nothing else, which put him in a better place. He wanted to go over to Erik and comfort him, possibly try to calm him down - but it probably wouldn't work and Tucker still had Maria by his side who looked more needing of his attention. He continued to hold her close. He wanted to speak up, shed some sunshine on this horrid event but then Julius spoke in a calm and ever so leader-like way.

"Alright then calm down and lets think a bit, first things first...now that we are out of the town make sure to breath in the clean air. If something feels wrong do not hesitate in the slightest to tell anyone. Next we've got to check the truck for anything of use. Maps, foods, tools or anything of use. Lets make sure to check every single place in the truck ....and finally we have to deal with these two...sad to say...they are not the most stable in our group and we need to be weary of them..."Anything else anybody needs to add?"

He nodded, wanting to help out already but as he looked down at Maria once again, then at the two unconscious bodies, he kind of got a feel of what he should do while others did the whole scavenger hunt. He had to tend to those who were in need. He looked up at Julius, Luckily, the Adrian boy stirred and seemed quite alright - just completely lost, but other than that, looking quite alright. He pulled Maria away form him slightly, so he could look at her frail, tired face as he spoke to her. "Hey, tell me what's wrong. Tell me how I can help you." He spoke calmly, with genuine concern. He really needed to help her. He looked into her blue eyes, waiting for her response, worried about what she might have to say. Worried he might not be able to help.

He tried his hardest not to react to what he heard next, but he couldn't help noticing how his heart skipped a beat when he heard Sophie, who was nearby, say in a rather matter-of-fact way "Alexandra did the idiotic thing and killed him, rather than knocking him out like I suggested before we got into the truck."

Still sitting on the tailgate, waiting for a reply from the others, Sophie talked to Quentin quietly about their situation and he seemed a little taken with her, trying to pitch in questions about her personal life.

"From what it looks like, you spiteful little girl," Sophie turned with raised eyebrows to see who it was. Adrian. She sighed, "is that this 'useless body bag' just saved your lives. I don't know what I did, and personally, I don't care now because it might be sickening, but you all need to a least think twice! And moreover - " She kind of stopped listening to him and laughed.

When he was done, she made her reply. "You didn't save our lives. You had nothing to do with it." she told him, "Bryan was the one who neutralized David, and then Alexandra finished the job. You were beating up a corpse." Sophie smiled at him, "I never said anyone was worthless. I said you were useless. If you're going to try and use my words against me, please get it right."

Natalie was right and Alexandra was in serious condition, but there really wasn't much he could really do about it besides cover the wound "we are in the middle of nowhere so a doctor is out of the question" Julius said taking out a cloth as he began to wipe the bloodied nose and used it to cover the wound. With a sigh the older man got up and glanced over at Sophie as she began to speak to him. "...Things do have a habit of blowing up" Julius said with a sigh as he glanced over at the truck. "This place is practically a desert...we have no food or water and I doubt we will be able to reach town in our condition" Julius said walking up to the truck "I'll check out the truck, if it blows up then please have a wonderful funeral for me" Julius said as he opened up the truck and entered it There was something going on, but Julius was already in the car before he could deal with it.

And so Julius began to search high and low for what ever he could find. Luckily they had a spare tire so if they popped a tire they could always replace it. There were empty cans of beer spread around which was no surprise to Julius and luckily they had a bag of BBQ Ruffles laying around. There were some useless things like Car insurance information, a horse shoe, and an old gun magazine. The gun magazine was useless to him considering he knew how to work one, but the horse shoe could have given them some luck. There was a bottle of water, but it was useless due to the fact that there was a cigarette inside it...maybe they could use the bottle?

Julius continued on his search as he found a belt, Two double A batteries and some spray deodorant...maybe they could use the spray deodorant as a flame thrower? The money started to kick in literally as he found $53 in the glove compartment and there was a wench which would help them maintain the truck...and be a good weapon. With a sigh, Julius gathered all the items and brought them together outside but then noticed one item left. "Hm? whats this?" Julius muttered as he picked up the item, Immediately noticing what it was. Julius' eye immediately and he immediately tossed it out as fast as he could "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK! DAMN PERVERTED DRUNKEN MAN!" Julius yelled as he looked down at his hand "OH GOD, OOOOOOOOOOOOH GOOOOOOOOOOD, WHO KNOWS WHAT HE DID WITH THAT THING! MY HANDS....MY HANDS ARE TARNISHED!" Julius yelled as he glanced over at the last object again and shuddered at the thought that he touched a gay porn DVD.

Adrian let out a 'hmph'. "Ok, so yeah, maybe I was useless, but so were you probably." Adrian countered, "I may have been beating up a dead corpse, but the way your saying it, you're all talk and no action." Adrian said, letting out a snicker of his own, "Why don't you try to focus on survival rather than dumping people out like depots? Haven't you heard the expression 'safety in numbers'?"

Adrian stopped short at Julius's outburst. "While you talk about killing us off, but whatever I did, I'm going to amend my mistake, understand?" Adrian said. He showed no signs of aggression. "And by doing this, everyone needs to rest and clear their head. Depending on how much gas we have, we could probably make it to a nearby town. and NO ONE is going to deport me OR this girl."

He crawled over to girl with blue hair, put two fingers at the neck and said, "She's stable, but it looks like she went into shock." Adrian looked back at Sophie, and said, "We never did anything to any of you. Lexi might've finished the job of killing a man, and I might've beaten a dead corpse, but we never did anything to hurt you. Put that in your hat and over your ears."

Sophie wasn't sure what Adrian was trying to accomplish by trying to be clever. He was acting as if anything he was saying was going to get to her. If he really was attempting to insult her, he was failing miserably. Her better, less playful side told her to ignore his complete and utter stupidity, but the larger part of her said to continue messing with him, it was just too much fun!

In some ways, Adrian reminded her of her beloved. They were both a little naïve as to the way things really worked and they tried to play tough, but it usually failed and provided much amusement for Sophie.

"It's called rationality," Sophie told Adrian absentmindedly. "Perhaps you should try it."

What an idiot he was. Ahh, this reminded her of his sister, Tonitrui, and her little outburst in the forest. That had been amusing. Before she could reply, Julius was yelling something about a perverted drunken man, and she assumed he was referring to David. Sophie wondered what he had found in the truck to make him say that. She laughed as Julius thrashed around.

"I think you'll survive, Sir Dashing Patch." she told him, remembering their conversation at the inn this morning about his single working eye. Adrian went on about getting rest and Sophie thought that was the most rational thing he had said throughout all of this ordeal, and gave him a half of a single brownie point.

Swinging her legs from the tailgate, "Also, people don't die from breaking their noses -- and they also don't lose much blood from it. I'm sure Alexandra doesn't need a hospital for a long time yet. She'll be able to breathe through her mouth for now, and we can use a tissue or a hankie to stop the little bleeding there is at the moment."

Julius brought what he had found inside the truck out. Hmm. A few useful things they could use; she was especially pleased at the money -- it wasn't much, but they would be able to manage if they used it properly. "Don't worry, we'll throw you a wonderful funeral. I'll personally hire the homosexual male strippers and we'll have one of them burst out of the giant rainbow-iced cake."

Put that in your hat and over your ears. Sophie thought of the expression Adrian used and laughed. What did that even mean? If Pierce really did like this boy, Sophie had no idea what she saw in an idiot like him.

"Don't you touch her, freak. Even if she were dead I wouldn't let you beat up her corpse." She shook her head. "And she's not in shock, idiot. She got knocked out the mist. Are you really thick or just acting this way for attention? Because to me it seems like it's the latter." At that moment she felt Lexi stir.

    "...Lexi?"

The blue-haired girl opened her eyes. She looked around and immediately sat up. "Is everyone okay!? Who died!?" Then she recalled her act. "Nevermind that last part. Are YOU okay Natalie?"

"Yeah, I'm okay. Julius brought us all in the truck and then went back to help you, Bryan, and Erik, who was carrying you." The only reason she knew their names was because she heard them on the back of the truck.

"My nose hurts and I can't breathe too good. Does it look bad?"

"Nah, it looks okay. Just bled a lot. How are YOU feeling?"

"I'm dizzy from getting koncked in the face... But listen," Lexi grabbed the younger girl by the shoulders, "whatever I may have done, I'm sorry if I freaked you out. I have bad anger issues, and seeing that this guy was just going to let you all die... It... I..." She couldn't find the right words. "What I mean is, I'm sorry."

"It's fine." Natalie smiled at her friend. "I'm just glad we're okay. Almost didn't make it. Now, let's get you off the ground so we can see what to do next." She stood and helped Lexi up by the hand.

Lexi stood and dusted herself off. "Right then, where to next?"

First Aislin felt herself get conscious, but then as soon as she did she coughed and sat up straight. She gasped for air for a moment before she tried to calm herself down, but her body was reacting as though she was drowning... although the yellow mist was not present. Aislin's breathing eventually slowed down and she spoke with a low, groggy voice, "W-what happened? No one died right? Please tell me no one died...."

"I never said she would die from a broken nose, dumbass, I said she was in shock." Adrian said, rolling his eyes, "With you trying to be rational, all your doing is making yourself look stupid."

Adrian then got very close to Sophie's face, and said, "Just between you and me, when me and my sister were in the hospital, she told me of how you acted a little. A bit negative, much? Because you can go on and keep thinking rationally, because right now EVERYTHING'S IRRATIONAL. We've been in two accidents, and what looks to be homicide, and your trying to be rational? *****, please, don't make me laugh. Right now, Our world has gone to hell. That's why we need to stick together."

Adrian then got away from her and resumed. "And by the way, if you keep with this sadistic act, you're gonna die in a hole so deep that no one, not even you can get out of. And I personally don't care, because the way you're acting, to me you're lower than garbage. But I'm not gonna single you out, cause we need to survive. So I don't care what happens to you. You live for another day, I couldn't care less. You die before any of us gets home, I still couldn't care less. Right now, you just make me sick, and I would think that you're a worse person then I would ever be, even if I did beat on a dead guy."

    MOODSICK❤??NOTHINGOOC. . .

Bryan definitely did not feel so great, not with everything that was going on. This wasn't supposed to be how his summer turned out. It felt like weeks had passed since they arrived at camp, and now . . . He shuddered. They really did need to get out of here.

Shakily, he let go of Noëlle and made his way over to Sophie and Adrian pulling the both of them away from each other and sighing tiredly and heavily. "A - Alright, that's enough, you two. This isn't the t - time or the place." It was so cold out here. Sophie looked like she was pouting a little and took Quentin back to the corner of the pickup.

Bryan looked to Julius, "H - Hey, Erik is waiting inside the truck. I think it's t - time we got the heck out of here . . ." he told the older man. He helped him bring all of what they had found back inside the truck and then turned to the others, trying not to let any stress overtake his nerves. "Alright g - guys," he called to the group, "We're getting b - back into the truck and we're gonna take the o - other way . . . I know it's cold and we're all s - sick . . ." he coughed, "but . . ." Well, but nothing.

Bryan didn't know what to say. He felt so tense and was ready to crack. This was much more than he planned. And he didn't even know what they were supposed to do about David. Should they just leave him here? They couldn't take his d - . . . They couldn't take him with them. The urge to vomit came back and Bryan leaned against the side of the truck, clutching at his stomach and taking a deep breath.

"A - Alright, everyone i - in . . . Noëlle should sit ride shotgun -- rest your head, too -- Lexi should sit in the back, since she's bleeding, make sure you're head is t - tipped back to slow the bleeding and breath th - through your mouth . . . And -" He looked again at both Sophie and Adrian. They probably needed to stay away from each other . . . The last thing he needed to tip him over the edge was another death or a major injury from a fight . . .

" - Sophie will ride in the back too, y - you and Adrian need to stay away from - each o - other . . . And Aislin, so she can catch he - her breath . . . The rest of us will pile in the pickup . . ."

He stumbled to the driver's side, opening the door and Erik wrenched his neck to look at Bryan. All of the other counselors were getting mad at him all the time . . . Bryan didn't feel so good. "Y - You don't look so good Erik, you should - sit - in th - the back to watch the kids . . . I - I'll drive." he told him shakily.

Erik didn't look like he wanted to comply, but after a bit more urging, they traded spots and everyone piled into their respective places. Bryan closed the tailgate, looking around the area to make sure they hadn't forgotten anything, and then he and Julius did a once over on the truck to find anything out of place or wrong with the vehicle, and then loaded himself into the truck, turning it on and waiting for something - anything - bad to happen . . . He shuddered nervously, his stomach churning.

It took him a little while to get his grips on driving, especially with his nerves on high wire, but he really didn't want to crash and . . . He swallowed hard and drove carefully and with a steady pace, keeping his eyes glued to the road and remaining silent.

His grip on the steering wheel was tight and his knuckles were turning white. Eventually, after who knew how long, they met the other road of the fork, and Bryan started down it, hoping this road wouldn't lead them to . . .

    Bryan didn't feel good.

Alexandra did the idiotic thing and killed him, rather than knocking him out like I suggested before we got into the truck.

Sophie spoke and Noëlle's bottom lip quivered. Then, she closed her burning eyes and wrapped her arms around herself, folded against Bryan's stomach. Her face buried itself into his chest and she breathed in deeply, escaping for a just a moment, drowning out the sounds of a stupid argument and some kind of outburst.

    This was ...

The moment didn't last long and Bryan pulled away, leaving her cold and empty.

He spoke and she immediately knew something was wrong. It made her feel panicked and alert. Her eyes were wide, and when he told her to ride shotgun, she obeyed quickly. Her bottom lip started to burn from all of the chewing.

    This ...

She felt no more at peace, even with her seat belt buckled and her throbbing head resting. Just tired, but too nervous and paranoid to sleep. Too worried, about Bryan, to sleep. Something was wrong with him.

Why must it seem like that everything goes wrong for them. They had actually found a driver willing to take them to the nearest town so that they could get home. What he does instead is drive them into an abandon ghost town with a warning sign at the entrance. Since couldn't get a good look at it, he thought it was something like 'don't drink the water', but the yellow mist soon changed his thoughts.

That was when the coughing began with everyone who wasn't lucky enough to be inside the truck. Judging from what he could tell from inside the truck that David wasn't going to help them, in fact he just ignored them all together. Fortunately the ones inside didn't ignore them and actually did something to try to help them, which was when things got hectic again. During the whole incident, which ended with David getting run over and Julius driving them out, Alex had stayed in the back until they were brought back to the entrance which he got out.

Now they were getting back into the truck and preparing to head out. Since all the inside seats were taken, Alex took a corner on the bed. Aside from the coughing like most of the others were doing, he stayed relatively quiet, though it was more along the lines that there was nothing to say right now.

"A - Alright, that's enough, you two. This isn't the t - time or the place." Said a counselor next to Adrian said. "A - Alright, everyone i - in . . . Noëlle should sit ride shotgun -- rest your head, too -- Lexi should sit in the back, since she's bleeding, make sure you're head is t - tipped back to slow the bleeding and breath th - through your mouth . . . And Sophie will ride in the back too, y - you and Adrian need to stay away from - each o - other . . . And Aislin, so she can catch he - her breath . . . The rest of us will pile in the pickup . . ." The guys sounded traumatized.

"Gladly. I'm tired of wasting my breath on an apathetic little girl. I'm more human then her, for sure." Adrian said flatly. Adrian then stood and went to the defined position. All this emotion was getting to his head. A day ago, Adrian had been traumatized with the death of his sister. Now, his heart was hard, Sophie's harsh words adding to that notion. Not even the cold air got to him.

He lay his head and as they drove, he thought and he thought. The things that he puts up with...it drove him up a wall. This had to be a nightmare, but Adrian knew it wasn't because his eyes were wide open.

What Julius returned to was sheer idiocy and Julius could only groan in pure annoyance as he listened to Adrian's discussion. At the moment he was very fatigued and he was willing to smack the kid again, but Julius decided to hold back and just let out a sigh. The sound of Sophie's voice reached his ear and the man could shake his head with a smile "Well hardy har har" Julius said sound more pirate like then he ever had.

Soon enough everybody started to pile into the truck and though he'd rather sit out in the back (despite what happened), Julius chose to sit inside just in case something unexpected happened. With a sigh Julius sat back on the seat and noticed he was sitting on something "huh? what the?" Julius muttered as he got up slightly and check out what he was sitting on. Stuck inside the cushion was a peculiar object that made Julius think a fatass was sitting there prior and their fat ass did not allow them to feel the object and push it into the cushion in the first place.

Shaking the thought aside, Julius pulled out object and realized that it was a cellphone. "Hm...lets check this out" Julius said silently starting the phone and checking it out. "Low battery....and two unread messages?" Julius said quietly as he opened the messages.

    FROM: FRANK
MESSAGE: I'm on my way with the kids. Make sure they get home alright. If they die ... Well, it won't look good for us. Avoid Lightbrooke, it's not safe. Go around through Tilapok. Don't hurt these kids. They're important.

    FROM: FRANK
MESSAGE: Hey, are you heading home now? We need you back before morning! Don't forget the meeting. Everyone needs to be there, David. You know how Victoria gets.

"They....are important?" Julius silently said as he turned off the phone and glanced back forward. "Bryan...keep an eye out for a place called Tilapok. According to this unread text message David was not supposed to go through that gaseous place called Lightbrooke...nor hurt us" Julius said closing his eyes. Even though it was rude to believe so....Sophie was right...Lexi screwed up by killing David...answers about why they were so important was now gone...and worse...Lexi was now a criminal. If they returned to Bentley they were sure to be involved with the police.

    DAY 44/4DATEJUNE 18THLOCATIONTRUCK / TILAPOK
    MOODSICK / TIRED❤??NOTHINGOOC. . .

Everyone in the truck was quiet and Bryan wondered how everyone in the pickup was doing.

He was tired, sure, but his nerves were still too strung up for him to sleep -- not to mention it would be a bad idea for him to sleep while driving anyway. He was hoping that someone would fill the void of silence, and on the thought, Sophie started humming softly in the back, which soothed his nerves a good deal.

The back window opened and Julius' gruff voice started, making Bryan twitch in alert and letting off the gas suddenly, ready to spring into action. "Bryan . . . Keep an eye out for a place called Tilapok." the older man told him, and he relaxed, feeling a little silly. He was just so paranoid. "According to this unread text message, David was not supposed to go through that gaseous place called Lightbrooke . . . Nor hurt us."

"Well, he was drunk," Sophie started quietly, "It's not a wonder he . . . went the wrong way." She sounded strange and hesitant.

"O - Okay . . ." Bryan replied, scrunching his face up at the fact that his voice was still massively cracking. He didn't think he'd be able to talk properly for . . . a long time. He had to admit, he felt like crying right now. Everything was so terrible . . . He seriously hoped that nothing else . . . It was probably better if he didn't think about that.

About twenty minutes of driving later, the truck passed a reflective green sign.

    TILAPOK
    CITY LIMIT

    Oh, wonderful . . .

"We should probably stop for food and water," Sophie calmly advised, and he shakily nodded. He didn't get her. Wasn't she affected by this situation at all? Adrian had said something about being more human than her, but Bryan didn't want to believe that. Sophie was a good person, he thought. She had never been mean to him or Noëlle, and had even had a few nice conversations with the both of them in past . . .

Eventually, the middle of nowhere bled into small shops and other things of commute. They passed by a gas station and Bryan took note of their tank. A little less than a quarter of the tank had been taken, which meant their gas should be enough to get them back to Candlewood . . . To home at last.

They pulled up to another gas station that was combo McDonalds and pit stop. He killed the engine and momentarily laid his head back, taking deep breaths. "How are your i - injuries, Noëlle, Le - Lexi . . .?" he asked them both, meekly, and getting out of the truck, "We c - can treat - them h - here . . ." The lightheaded feeling came back to him and he coughed again, going around and letting the tailgate down.

"A - Alright guys," he began shakily, feeling the nipping of the cold at his skin again, "We're st - stopping here for food and wa - water. We don't h - have much money, so if any of you h - have any cash on you, we could - use it." Sophie came over to him and plopped a crumpled five and some change into his hand, then walked into the station, leaving the others behind. "Please be con - siderate of others a - and order something that won't put - us over too much . . ."

He let them all go into the station before following and going to buy rubbing alcohol and bandages, then he called Noëlle over to treat her head wound and gave her a small, unsteady smile, rubbing her cheek with his shaky thumb. He really needed to calm down. There was no need to be so shaken up like this. But when he thought of that d - . . . He swallowed hard again, and turned away, checking out Lexi's nose.

It was crooked a little to the side and he frowned at it. She needed to go to a hospital or a clinic. He thought about breaking it back into place, but . . . From the cashier, he asked for some ice in a baggie and handed it to her, "Hold this to your nose, d - don't breathe through it, and d - don't blow it, okay?" he advised, and then there was nothing more he could do for her until they got her to a hospital or something.

He used the five he was given to buy a package of water bottles, enough for everyone, and then set all of their little supplies on the passenger floorboard, then went back in to go to the restroom. Bryan stared at himself in the mirror and looked at the pitiful state he was in. His eyes were tired, his hair was a mess, there were various bruises blooming across his face and skin. There was a minor cut on his cheek with dried blood that he wiped clean.

Locking the door, he sank against it and rested his forehead on his arms, and then began to quietly sob.

Natalie went and ordered two drinks and a burger. She had conveniently had her emergency money in the same place as always: her shoe.

It was a weird place, but nobody would really think to look. Lexi had been given ice to... Well, ice her nose.

    "How you holding up, Lex?"

Lexi looked at her. "Could be better... I mean, I did something unspeakable yet again, and I have a broken nose. I could have doomed us all by acting like that..."

Natalie looked at her. "Shush. The more you think about it, the more you'll feel worse. Just, I don't know... Leave it be. By tomorrow we'll be home and not caring."

"Fine..." Lexi said. She took a deep breath and took a bite out of the burger. It was McDonalds' food (revolting), but she was so hungry and tired that she didn't give two shits. She swallowed. It felt good. "You know Nat, see of anyone wants something. We shouldn't have everyone go hungry."

"Lexi, as much as I'd like to, you and I both know there's no guarantee that we'll all survive, and that's why we should save my remaining money. We can't risk losing it all on people who we barely know, and will possibly die."

"Who's to say you and I won't die? Or who can successfully say that someone won't die of starvation? If someone does, we could have prevented that!"

Natalie rolled her eyes. "It's my money, Nat. I'll do whatever I want with it."

Lexi frowned. "Well you can eat with it too!" She took her food and drink and got up. She looked for a seat, and sat near another bluenette. Of course, Lexi, being Lexi, couldn't help but notice how cute she was. Instead of just disregarding her like she would any other night she was in a horrid mood, Lexi decided to be polite.

"H-Hi..." She said shyly with a small smile.

    DAY 4 4/4DATE JUNE 18THLOCATION NOWHERE
    MOOD SHAKEN 39% = NOËLLE / 9% = SOPHIE MUSIC !!
    OOC . . .

    ◆ ◇ ◆ ◇ ◆ ◇ ◆

Quentin was upset. That mist had done a number on him and he was still out of it. He gathered that something had happened to David and that they were on their way out of the mess. He checked up on those he knew. None of them were hurt, but Noëlle was clearly upset and Sophie wouldn't let him go to her. He moaned in frustration.

Before he knew it, they were out of where ever that was and arrived at a gas station with a built-in McDonald's. "Please be con - siderate of others a - and order something that won't put - us over too much . . ." The counselor was even more shaken up than he was. He felt kind of bad for the guy, but he couldn't think of anything to do for him, so he let it go. Sophie handed the man some cash. He emptied his pockets and handed over all but one coin of his change. It was the coin he had flipped when he met Noëlle. My fate . . .

The mist had left him quiet, but Quentin was still watchful. The other kids were behaving strangely. They didn't look so boring to him, not now. I guess disaster does that. He was still worried about Noëlle, but she was hurt and needed treatment, so he reluctantly followed Sophie into the station. He felt somewhat hungry, but he hated McDonalds. Oh, well . . . More for the others. He decided to order a five piece nugget to hold himself off.

He felt exhausted. He wondered how things could get so messed up in just four days. Maybe it's destiny. His lip curled in a smirk. He turned back to Sophie and wondered what she was thinking. She had taken charge of things, and he appreciated that, but . . . Why did she pull me away from Noëlle? He leaned back against the counter and studied her face. She was too calm. He tried to say something intelligent to match his earlier demeanor, but all he could get out was, "What are you thinking?"
