The young counselor's eyes widened at the diagram the little girl showed her. His eyes darting from one symbol to the next. Sad faces, happy faces... what made his heart skip a beat and his breathing stop momentarily was the drawing of what looked like the forest fire and the ferry ride - all of their misfortunes. Along with two other drawings which had sad faces under them, a bloody knife and a sign that said "rest". He felt like all of his organs were being squeezed in his body - like they grew in size and wanted to burst. He was completely frozen. He looked at the happy faced drawings though, a train and some sort of car... she was trying to tell them something. She was! She knew something!

Before he could pry the little girl a little further, he looked up and almost lost his balance from where he was squatting. Glenda, the girl's mother, loomed over both of them, took her hand and shot Tucker a deadly glare. He inhaled sharply, completely horrified. His gut instinct was right, something was going on. As the mother grabbed her daughter and dragged her away, he got to his feet - wanting to go after her, but it was too late and he really didn't want to engage with her mother - who really creeped him out. As he looked around at the other students, he knew he couldn't risk it. They had to get out. Now.

Tucker was so scared out of his mind, it wasn't really syncing well. His thoughts were all over the place, but his eyes darted to the counter by him, noticing that the young girl had left the receipt with the drawing. His hand immediately reached for it and before he could even think he was running toward the other counselors, with the diagram laying on the palm of his hand - showing them the evidence he collected. His breathing was quick, his eyes were wide in terror and his body was shaking slightly, it felt like he was on overdrive. His voice was kept low, but it was obviously filled with complete panic. "Out. Out now. We have to get out. Everyone. Out."

"I was just messing with you... You don't need to get all mad... Sheesh..." Natalie complained. "Anyway, what now?" She said to Sebastian, leading him a bit away to talk.

Lexi stopped talking to Alex for a bit. "Sorry Alex, but it seems like they're fighting..." She rolled her eyes. Lexi heard the exchange between the two. As soon as Natalie and Sebastian moved a bit, she went over to Stratana.

"Hey, you okay? Don't worry about what anyone says, you aren't dumb. You're pretty cool, actually, and I can tell we'll be friends for a long time." She smiled.

    MOODCAUTIOUS❤??NOTHINGOOC. . .

There had been a brief moment of awkward silence before Bryan got any answer, and it was from Erik, who was trying to be patient. He listened to him talk and explain why they thought things were off and just generally suspicious. Okay, so Bryan wasn't as perceptive as others when it came to things like this, and he wasn't that great at piecing things together . . . He felt bad.

Come to think of it, everything Erik had mentioned, Bryan had noticed, but he didn't pay them a second thought because he had come up with other solutions to the issues. He couldn't have imagined that maybe something bad had happened in place of his make-light.

Before he could reply to Erik, a couple and a child entered the shop and Bryan looked over at them. The woman glared at him and he looked down at the ground. Okay, so maybe there were some things going on. The little girl didn't seem to match the set of her parents (?). As things progressed from there, Bryan tried to see what the others were talking about.

The woman glared, the little girl stared, and the man talked with the trolley man in hushed tones. That was a little weird. Bryan shook his head, not knowing what to think. Tucker had gone to talk to the little girl, and he watched. He couldn't tell what they were saying, but then the woman came along, looked angry, and dragged the little girl away. Wonder what that was about.

Soon, Tucker came back to them, a panicked look on his face and Bryan frowned. He held out his hand and was showing the others a crude drawing on the back of a receipt. The drawing was . . . He saw a fire, water with dead (?) people, a train, and a truck. Below was a sign with 'REST', and then a bloodied knife. The drawing gave him a bad feeling, and Tucker only added on to it. "Out. Out now. We have to get out. Everyone. Out."

The others were right. A shiver ran down his spine, and then he told the others he would tell the trolley man. "Excuse me," he said, when approaching him, "We'd like to go to catch our train now. Will you take us there?"

"Your train? It won't be here until about 4:30 . . . Would you like to go somewhere else or wait at the station?"

Bryan glanced over his shoulders at the others who were looking expectantly at him. If things were as bad as they said they were . . . "To the station. We can wait for our train." he replied, feeling confident. He quickly returned to the group and they rounded up all of the campers ( it had taken a while ) and then quickly ushered their group out of the shop and into the trolley.

On the ride to the station, Bryan picked out all the little things that he was missing while sitting next to his sister. Now that the others had mentioned it, how could he have overlooked stuff? He felt bad about it. Looking around the trolley at everyone, he did a headcount. Good they were all there.

The arrived at the station and filed out of the trolleys, "Alright guys," Bryan said, "Our train won't be here for a few hours, but kill time however you want. Stay in sight, don't leave the group. Don't leave the station, and all that good stuff. Please." He finished that last bit a little desperately, and then sunk into a bench, sighing and running his fingers through his hair.

"You're... Alex right? We met before the bus ride! How ya doing cutie?"
She called him a cutie, that was fast. This was only second time they've actually talk to each other. A part of him wanted to react very happily, but another more dominant part resisted. He didn't feel like making a fool of himself right now.
Still, she did call you cute.
True enough, but he would keep that reaction inside right now. "F-fine." That was all he managed to say at the moment.
"enjoying the candy shop? Just don't eat anything, because my friends say it's weird and deadly."
Whelp, seems like that gumball from earlier may have some after effects. Good thing he only ate one piece of candy, assuming that there actually was something wrong with the candies. Just saying that the candy was weird and deadly provoked some curiosity and he was going to ask why, but his question was soon answered.
"Apparently, there isn't enough people here to demand this supply of candy. Which doesn't make sense, because there are people that like candy a lot! Just like me! I love me some Minty Muffs!"
How does that make them deadly? Weird okay, but this wasn't a reason to assume that they were deadly. So what if the place had an over abundance of candy, it just meant they wouldn't be running out anytime soon. "Y-your r-right, It doesn't m-make sense." As she mention the bickering, he simple nodded as she walked off. After they left the store and ended up at the station, Alex just decided to look around for the moment.

xxxxxNoëlle had been completely caught off-guard by their sudden leaving. It was abrupt, honestly, and made her feel panicked and aware. She said goodbye and thank you to the family, and then was pretty just whisked out of the door and back to the trolley.

They drove straight for a bit, and Noëlle was sure the drive would have taken much less than thirty minutes if they hadn't had to stop for every single pedestrian walking in the middle of the street. She sighed and leaned back, fiddling with the ends of her green jacket until they arrived.

She stood and grabbed her bag, thanking the trolley driver and stepping down onto the red brick parking lot. This town was a colorful one, and it might have been lovely, had the people been nicer and less eerie. It was an experience, though. One she would journal about later. Until then ...

The heels of her sneakers felt unsupported along the uneven brick, and she was grateful for the smooth blue-painted concrete of the platform. The smell of dough hit her nose, but she was stuffed from breakfast. Still, it was a curious thing, and she wondered if there was a bakery somewhere nearby -- like the one in the hospital.

    That hospital ...

    Her shoulders slumped.

The conductor would be expecting them, so they were able to walk right through the ticket counter.

Alright guys, Bryan started once they were out and standing scattered on the platform. Our train won't be here for a few hours, but kill time however you want. Stay in sight, don't leave the group. Don't leave the station, and all that good stuff. Please.

Looking a bit ... exhausted, Bryan sat down on one of the benches. Noëlle frowned and thought about sitting next to him, but ... She felt a bit clingy. Instead, she took a seat alone on one of the benches after grabbing a train schedule. As she flipped through the pages, she noticed Candlewood was no where to be seen on any of the (few) routes.

    Weird. Weird, weird, weird.

Honestly, she wasn't sure what to do to waste time. It would have been better, she thought, to explore Bentley a bit more. Besides the candy shop, what else would there have been? Besides the Dreamers, who else could they have met? Her knees bent up on the bench and she sighed, still wondering why everything had happened the way it did and when she would get to go home.

While thinking, she found herself drifting. Using her bag as a pillow, she placed it down on one end of the bench, curled up and rested her head on it, falling quickly into a light sleep.

The tooting of a train horn caught her attention and she lifted her gaze. The train station was far too large for the scarce amount of people she actually saw around. There was one train puffing smoke out of the top, and a conductor stepped out of it, smiling and waving across a platform at them. Noëlle waved back politely.

Still pretty sleepy from her nap, she made her way down the train aisle, claimed a seat, and curled up to sleep.

    Time to go, kids!

Noëlle stirred at the enthusiastic voice of their conductor. Was he supposed to be back here? Where were they? Ack, she felt so disoriented! Her eyes fluttered open and then she winced, closing them again. Bright lamps from outside blasted the train with yellow light. Her throat vibrated with a groan, and she twisted herself further into the seat cushions.

The closest we were able to get you kids to Candlewood was Lightbrook. My cousin, David, offered to come pick you lot up in his truck and he's not the most patient. Should get you there alright, though. He can drop you off at Fortissmo, and you can have your parents pick you up. Buses aren't runnin' this late, after all ...

He trailed off, staring at her for a moment and then at whoever else was visible, and then shrugging and opening the doors to the car they were in.

Noëlle swung her bag over her shoulder and stood up, peeking over the rising figures of people to make sure Bryan was okay and exiting the train, too, before stepping off into the cool early morning air. Her eyes were heavy, and she felt exhausted. Getting in the car with this ... David guy didn't seem like the safest thing, but ... What could he do? There were so many of them. Though, she would rather her family pick her up. She missed her phone. Her parents were probably so worried ... She wondered about the others, too. The groups they had left behind.

Her arms folded over her chest to warm herself, and the roaring of an engine caught her attention and she walked towards the dirt brown jeep that they were all apparently to pile into. So much traveling ...

The conductor and a group of workers from the train got off, talking with each other and laughing. He motioned towards their group and broke out into louder roar. Her eyebrows furrowed. Was she being paranoid or what? Hmm...

David revved up his truck, leaning out of his window. He had a friendly face, but cold, dark eyes. It made her nervous ...

He had clearly been drinking, though he didn't seem ... enormously drunk. Noëlle took a step forward towards the car. The cold bit at her ankles and cheeks. David unlocked the doors to the red truck and she shuffled inside first, taking a seat behind the driver's seat, near the window, and buckling herself in. There wasn't a lot of room back here at all ... Someone could ride shotgun, maybe three more could fit in the back. It was some kind of weird pickup truck, and maybe the rest of them could pile into the way back ... She felt a bit guilty for thinking that, buuuut.

As long as Bryan was there ...

As the train left, the lanterns went out and they were left alone, in the dark. David's headlights blared out ahead of them.

What're you waiting for? Let's go! It's late and I'm tirrrrrred.

Sebastian assisted Natalie into the back on the truck before hopping in himself. He sat in the backseat next to Natalie, and on the other side of her sat Stratana. The crowding had pressed Natalie's hip right into his, and the tension of the moment attracted him to taking Natalie's hand and grasping it firmly. "Don't worry, we'll be fine." He said more to himself than to her.

Stratana led Lexi into the truck, taking to the back seat. She heard something about an apology for the previous airhead comment. "It's... fine..." She paused for an insufferable time trying to force the words out. "I'm sorry too..."

Sean hopped into the back bed of the truck with a bound. "Reminds me of my last family reunion. Drunks driving and crowded rides, y'know?" He noted aloud as he squeezed his large frame into a very tight spot, causing some displacement for others. However, Sean didn't care; he wanted to go home.

The pickup looked tiny. Either way, it was their ticket home, so she didnt care. She looked to her friends. "Come on guys, let's get in the car before anyone else does. I REFUSE to ride in the way back." She took Natalie's hand and led her to the truck, then for in the passenger seat quietly. The man driving the truck seemed a bit... Tipsy. He didnt seem THAT bad though, so she just looked at him and said; "Thank you for driving us home." He didnt seem to care, so Lexi just looked out the window.

Natalie couldn't believe it. Finally! Something had actually gone right. Instead of saying anything to jinx it, she just got in the back seat, directly behind Lexi. She made room for Sebastian and Stratana to get in, and signaled to the former to make sure he sat beside her. Stratana seemed like a *****, based on the exchange in the candy shop.

Then again, Natalie did accidentally aggravate her. She turned to Stratana. "Hey, not sure if I already did this, but sorry about my 'airhead' comment in the candy store. I was just messing around. No hard feelings?" She didnt want to be around someone who didnt like her, especially if she was Lexi's friend.

But then, as if by magic the truck seemed a lot... Smaller on the inside than before. Natalie started stammering. "I-I- Um... Uh... Sebastian! Lets go stargazing!" She threw open the door, unbuckled herself, and got in the way back, happy that she had room to breathe again.

Bryan spend their waiting time talking to the others and making up games for the people who didn't take naps to play. Being a camper for a long time had him learn a lot of things to kill time without technology, and he got through the wait just fine.

After the train ride, he was disappointed to find that they weren't actually back home, and that they would have to take yet another mode of transportation to get to Fortissimo. With a man who seemed drunk. Wonderful. Since only so many people could fit inside the cabin, Bryan gave up his spot for someone else to huddle into the back with the others. It was definitely chilly, but with them all piled together, they would probably be alright.

Bryan was glad knowing that Noëlle would be warm inside the truck's cabin and he wouldn't have to worry about her. Climbing into the back of the pickup, Bryan went into the corner and Sophie and Quentin came up, sitting in the other corner, talking in hushed tones.

When the train left and David's truck pulled up, he planned on taking a seat inside the truck, but soon changed his plan upon seeing that he was beaten to the punch. Clearly there was going to be enough room for all of them to get in, just not in the front. Right now he wanted a break from all this traveling and actually stay somewhere for more than a couple of hours. Hopefully this would be the last time that they would need to do this.
Still he needed a place to sit and ended up getting in the back of the truck. As long as it wasn't a bumpy ride he would be fine sitting there. Comfort wasn't all that much of a concern to him right now, well not as much as it normally would in this situation. Plus since there was still some space left, he managed to sit right behind the window of the truck.

Sebastian followed Natalie out into the bed of the truck, fixed on spending as much time with her as possible. He didn't even notice Sean when he grabbed Natalie's hand tightly and gave her one, lengthened, passionate kiss. A mix of regret over Alice and a fear for his own life pushed him to perform the action, as he closed his eyes to give into the full strength of the kiss.

Once he pulled back, he looked Natalie directly in her eyes. "I felt like I really needed to do that..." He confessed, half out of breath.

"Are you kidding me?" Sean mumbled under his breath. He tried to make himself as comfortable as possible on the deeply grooved truck bed, finding it difficult with his surplus of surface area. 'Great... love birds.' He though to himself.

"Lexi, I just wanted to say:..." She didn't know what words she wanted to say. "Thanks." Stratana didn't know quite what for, but it felt like the right word to supplement for the previous lack of one. "Thanks..." She repeated.

Adrian Max silently followed the group, and keeping up. He hadn't said anything after he had taken over Adrian, which felt good. All he actually did was watch things happening and passing by. First, the Dreamers returned, one of them having a pitiful glare, and now a train ride back to Fortissimo. Swag.

After the train ride, a truck pulled up, driven by a man who also looked like a fine mess. Is this how the world functions? F-ing A. He could get used to this. The only problem was that as soon a he got in the back with the others, the man took at least five minutes to get moving. "Move this trash can, or I'll drive you to hell's gateway!"
Max snarled at him through the window.

After the man started moving, Max closed his eyes and thought. Not much longer now. Hopefully this guy doesn't turn out to be another depot, cuz that forest fire and the boat accident were truly dreadful. He snickered, thinking about how many dead bodies there might be after this fiasco is over. It'll be like Christmas morning.

The group moved out quite fast from the candy story and even Julius had to admit that what he saw the girl draw was quite unnerving. Something was definitely going on and they really were on a bizarre adventure. Tucker got them out extremely fast and though he felt the boy was over reacting, he did not say anything else about it. He followed the other and soon enough they were on a train.

The train ride soon came to an end and soon enough they all were offered a ride back home. He felt doubt about having it end so fast but he didn't complain or anything and held on to at least some hope that they would get home safely. Most of the kids began to board onto the truck and Julius merely awaited most of the kids and watched them board the truck.

AS Julius prepared to board on himself he listened to the words of Adrian and an anger boiled up inside. Clenching his fist tightly, Julius rose his fist and immediately sent a punch at the back of the kid's head. "OI ADRIAN SHUT THE FUCK UP" Julius yelled clearly pissed. "GOD, THE THING I HATE IS SOME IDIOTIC RUDE DUMBASS YELLING AROUND BARKING ORDERS! YOU HAVE NO GODDAMN APPRECIATION?!" Julius said as he glanced over at the driver "Oi don't listen to this idiot...we appreciate you driving us and if you can get us home I'll make it up to you" Julius said entering the truck.

Move this trash can, or I'll drive you to hell's gateway!

    Noëlle flinched.

    What the hell?

She looked back. It was ... Adrian. The guy who had approached her before, on the ferry. Oh no. She looked back towards David, who had snapped his head back. Her heart started pounding.

... Excuse me ... ? He unbuckled his seat belt rather quickly and bent over, reaching down for something under his seat.

OI ADRIAN SHUT THE **** UP!! GOD, THE THING I HATE IS SOME IDIOTIC RUDE DUMBASS YELLING AROUND BARKING ORDERS! YOU HAVE NO GODDAMN APPRECIATION?! ... Oi don't listen to this idiot...we appreciate you driving us and if you can get us home I'll make it up to you.

    Oh my god ...

David visibly relaxed and put his seatbelt back on with a sigh and a muttered 'whatever'.

Once they were all piled in, and the apology was made, David took off, swerving down the street. The truck rocked them awkwardly, and she found herself uncomfortably close to the ones sharing the back with her. It was a pain, really, and she was beginning to feel really ... awkward. Especially because one of them, maybe David, had an extremely potent body odor.

This was all made worse by the fact that Bryan had ended up in the pick up. They hadn't talked on the bus (which was her fault, stupid sleep), and whatever it was that he had wanted to talk to her about was eating away at her curiosity. Her eyes closed, and visions of Fortissimo -- and home -- danced through her head.

Deep breaths, Noëlle. Stay calm, Noëlle.

She didn't feel exactly safe starting up any discussion that wasn't casual here, so she kept her mouth shut and they drove forward into the darkness, rocking and bouncing about with every curve and bump of the road.

They came for a fork, and turn a bit sharply. David grumbled an apology and continued forward. Her stomach churned with nausea and she sniffled to herself. She wanted Bryan ... or someone, at least. This trip had been nothing but horror and loneliness.

They zoomed pass the city entrance to Lightbrooke and some kind of warning sign she couldn't make out.

The town was empty and desolate. No stores, or gas stations that she could see ... Only a row of empty houses on either side of them, and a cracked cement sidewalk bordering the gravel road. The moon illuminated an eerie yellowish mist hovering slowly above the ground.

    Hmm ...

After making sure that Noëlle listened to his warning, he went back to Sophie and engaged her lightly throughout the rest of the trip. The train ride was smooth and Bryan's games kept him from going crazy. Everything seemed okay until they got to the truck ride. A truck ride with a drunken driver. Quentin hated alcohol. It brought out the worst in everyone and made them more predictable as well as uncoordinated.

The counselors say to go, so I'll go, but I won't like it. He looked at this David with derision as he walked toward the vehicle. He wasn't worried about himself, but his girls would be riding too. Ah, well. Best not to stress. Go with the flow. He turned toward Sophie and was calmed by her apathetic expression. She isn't worried. Noëlle was inside the truck, but . . . He climbed into the back with Sophie instead.

This is a good time to talk. She looked as calm as usual, but that was more apathy than anything. She was attractive in an elusive way that was very different from Noëlle, but she was every bit as mesmerizing. Especially when she was interacting with others. He had seen her talking to a girl earlier, and she had looked positively radiant. He wondered what made her shine.

I am going to need two potions. He smiled and chuckled inwardly. I don't even know if they work yet. He stared at her as he thought of something to ask.

    "Why do you like people?"

Sophie looked at him with curiosity and kept quiet for a few moments, seeming to think. Quentin wondered how her mind functioned, what kind of thought process she had when she was thinking of things. More time passed and he let out a cough. Hmm, his throat was starting to feel a bit scratchy. He coughed again, and then again. Eventually, Sophie was watching him.

"What's wrong with you?" she asked bluntly, but he leaned over the side of the truck a little, just in case he might vomit. Then he saw it. This eerie mist that covered the ground and his eyes widened, him coughing some more. What was this stuff?

Quentin quickly pulled back and then knocked on the back window, one of the ones inside opening it. "Stop the truck." he asked over the rumbling, "There's -" Coughing. " - some weird mist. On the ground." Some of the others had started to cough too. "C - Could you stop the truck and let us in, p - please?" He could barely string that sentence together.

    WEATHERCLEAR SKIES 60°! ✖『DATE & TIME』 6/19/2013 - 3:26AM ✖『DAY』 04

    Stop the truck.

She had been lost in her thoughts when she heard a muffled voice speaking behind her. She twisted her body, perking an eyebrow and wondering what was going on. It was Quentin. She smiled, before noticing the expression on his face.

    Oh.

    Deep breaths, Noëlle ...

There's--. He coughed, and she began to unbuckle her seatbelt, putting the pieces together. --some weird mist. On the ground. C - Could you stop the truck and let us in, p - please?

Her eyes scanned the dirty window, into the pick up and over the faces. Her heart was pounding. Not another tragedy. No more deaths. No more deaths. No more deaths.

She heard another cough, one she recognized.

    ... Bryan !!

    No. Stay calm, Noëlle ...

Her fingers were trembling and she whipped around, towards David. He hadn't started to slow down yet and she wondered what he was waiting for. Oh, maybe he hadn't heard? The coughing got louder and her shaking became worse, so she finally spoke up.

Hey, man, I don't know if you heard, but, her voice was strained and a bit aggressive.

    David laughed.

    He laughed.

I heard him, sweetheart. Don't you worry a bit, I'm sure they'll be fine. I'm not opening the door for some weird ass mist to seep in here. We'll be outta here soon.

    ...

Wide, turquoise eyes stared forward blankly. The choking of the others in the back rang out clear. Clear as day. And then, David switched on the radio. It was one of the AM stations and it was only playing static. It was to drown them out, because this sick fucking bastard knew they wouldn't be 'okay'.

    He knew. This FUCKER.

    No, shh, shh, calm.

Slowly, she leaned back into the back seat and fidgeted with her fingers nervously.

The fire, the flood ... And now ...

    Bryan ...

    Bryan ...

... It was normal for little girls to admire their big brothers, right? Especially when they were as charismatic and affectionate as Bryan was. Things hadn't always been sunshine and sparkles between them, but Bryan was always there for her. When they were younger, he was her best friend as well as a grade A Playmate, and when they got older, the admiration just ... Never faded. Miraculously, they never entered that bratty puberty spawned sibling hatred, and pretty soon -- with no close friends of her own -- Bryan had consumed her thoughts completely.

She couldn't imagine being without him some day. Not at all. Especially, not like this.

There had been a time when she had really tried to get close to people. Failure after failure had driven her deeper into her acknowledged brother-complex and now .... Well, now anyone else was just a distraction. She wanted him near. She needed him, here. It could have been anybody, if the circumstances were different, but it wasn't.

Terrible thing was he might never know how she felt.

    He might die here, tonight.

    He'll die.

When she looked up again, tears were falling down her cheeks and a level of rage she hadn't even known existed flooded her system. Her safety belt was already unbuckled.

There was something under the seat. She had saw him reach for it, earlier, after Adrian's outburst. Without thinking, she propelled herself into the front seat, literally sitting on Electric Blue. Her arm lifted and her wide eyes flashed with anger. David's reaction (swerving the car and swearing) was delayed, and she was able to lift her elbow and jab it into his face as hard as she could. Pain shot up her arm with the hit, but he was thrown further off-guard and she maneuvered her body from Electric Blue's lap, to David's.

They swerved and she leaned down to bite one of David's arms hard enough to make him release the wheel.

STOP THE CAR, YOU SICK BASTARD !!

His leg slammed down on the brake and she fumbled, a bit disoriented, with unlocking the car doors.

Bryan wasn't going to die here.

David brought a large hand down and wrapped it around her hair, snapping her head back.

You bitch ! Clever and original of him, she thought sarcastically. He pulled harder on her head and she had to admit, it hurt pretty badly. Her eyes were stinging with tears, but ... Her right arm reached down, groping under the seat. David slammed her head against the wheel of the car, yelling more terrible insults at her.

    Come on ... !!

At least this should buy those outside some time ...

Lexi saw her chance. She had been curious as to what David had under the seat, and Noelle going pretty much ape-shit on the guy made it easy.

Avoiding Noelle as best as she could, she reached under the seat and pulled out David's treasure. It was a meat cleaver.

    Her stomach turned.

Just... Just what the hell had he planned to do!? Had he planned to kill them all with this!? It was disgusting, knowing that they had practically given themselves to him. She looked at it, then at David. ...Could she really do it? And could she do it without hitting Noelle by accident. She was hesitant, and didnt want to, but at the same time, she felt like she had to. If David was insane enough to let everyone die by the mist, then there was no telling what he could really do.

Lexi held it tightly, ready to do it as soon as the opportunity presented itself. She didnt want to hit Noelle. Noelle, the girl who had selflessly saved her life in the forest fire.

Lexi could only stare. This was crazy! She had never had to kill anyone, and the last time she did, it was her choice. And she was mad. She wasn't mad now, she was just scared.

    DAY 43/4DATEJUNE 18THLOCATIONTRAIN / TRUCK
    MOODBRYAN SMASH❤??NOTHINGOOC. . .

The truck had stopped after Bryan thought they were going to crash, and they were all coughing by the time it had. Bryan didn't know why, but it was slowly getting worst and his chest was starting to hurt. He heard the commotion inside and hopped out of the back, stumbling around to the driver's side to see what the deal was.

When he came around, the door was closed, but he peeked inside to see - HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONK . . . Was that Noëlle?!Her face was being pressed against the steering wheel and it looked like someone was . . . DAVID. Not today, motherfucker. Not his sister. Flashes of images from the past five years went through his mind and he growled, feral, angry, and ready to beat down.

Bryan threw open the car door, catching David off guard, and with all the strength he could muster, he grabbed the drunken man by the collar, and this was reminiscent of other drunken nights back home. Bryan was all angry and no sympathy now. Not when this son of a bitch attacked his sister.

After dragging the man out of the car, he coughed a few more times, it hurting more. He slammed the car door shut moments later so that none of that weird mist could get in, and he lugged David up, who began to roar at Bryan and shoved him against the now-closed truck door. Bryan grunted in pain, "TELL SOMEONE TO GET MY SISTER AND START THE TRUCK TO BACK UP! JULIUS! YOU DO IT!" he shouted, feeling incoherent.

"Oh, NO YOU DON'T!" David growled at him and started to charge a Bryan, throwing a punch that grazed Bryan in the cheek. He bit the inside of his mouth to dull the larger pain. David was swinging like the drunk he was and after a few, Bryan barely picked up on the erratic pattern and started to dodge.

He jumped back, guiding David away from the mist, coughing all the while and it detering his person and his sight for a long moment. David swung again and Bryan ducked, going in for his first punch, and undercut that nailed him square in the stomach. But David was resilient and only stumbled back, charging at him once more, and Bryan ran backwards, wheezing heavily from the strange mist.

They seemed to be away from it now, but he wasn't sure. Had the truck moved back, too? He wasn't paying attention. David landed a hit on his shoulder and he winced, but returned the punch with his own, landing straight on David's chin. He was faster, stronger, and more nimble than the drunk.

Crap, what am I supposed to do? he thought in a bit of a panic, dodging the other man.
