Erik stiffened at the feeling of someone behind him. He craned his neck to the right in time to hear, "Erik," come from the person incredibly close to his back. "I don't like this place." He turned to face Tucker, hands still in his pocket, and took a step away from the trolley driver.

"Yeah, me neither." he agreed. "No one gives away so much free stuff. Free room and board, free candy--it all screams bad news. I would have rather we got on the train right away and left, but even that seems sketchy. We don't have to pay for our tickets?" He was skeptical about all of it. Erik shrugged, leaning his body against a wall corner that wasn't covered in containers filled with candy. He slipped his right hand out of his pocket and rubbed at the back of his head uncomfortably.

"I wanted the four of us to meet up so we can try and figure something out." His brown eyes drifted over to Bryan, who seemed as preoccupied with his sister as he always was. "Maybe just the three of us then... It doesn't look like Bryan is going to be detaching himself from Noëlle any time soon." He sighed outwardly in frustration. "I think all the kids should get out of here and not be eating the candy. This whole town is off and I don't like the idea of them eating their 'free candy.'" He put air quotes at the end.

[/url]"Look at all of this Richie! Isn't it so cute?! We should look more inside! What do you say?"

Richie examined the building in front of him with bright eyes. Elisa was right, this place was sooooo cute~! He couldn't help but be giddy about the kawaii experience. "Of course...!" The boy couldn't mask his enthusiasm, not that he wanted to. He genuinely felt cheerful and perky! Richie hadn't felt this excited over anything in quite a while, and he found it refreshing. Taking his best friend's hand, he led her into the candy shoppe.

Everything looked like a little kid's dream. The atmosphere, the scent, the candy... it was all so exciting! The blonde-haired boy felt like a child again! He surveyed the area around him and spotted the candy that was littered all over the building ( in the sense that candy was everywhere teehee ). He was tempted to try some,--since it all looked so yummy--but he managed to eat back at the inn before the rude secretary ( Cane, was it...? ) booted them out. Richie was full, and he felt he couldn't eat another bite. His stomach was bothering him as it was, and adding some sweets to the mixture would not go well for the boy.

Still, Richie smiled cheekily. He noticed some stay outside, which he found a little peculiar. This place was so cute, how could they not want to come in? He tried uncovering their rationale, but quit soon after to admire the scenery again. He looked to Elisa and said with a giggle, "This place is like a sweet dream, don't you think?"

"No one gives away so much free stuff. Free room and board, free candy--it all screams bad news. I would have rather we got on the train right away and left, but even that seems sketchy. We don't have to pay for our tickets?"

Tucker nodded at the other counselor, relieved that he was uncomfortable like he was (probably not close to being as anxious as he was, but pretty close nonetheless). He didn't notice that he began cracking his fingers nervously, licking his upper lip and swallowing more than usual. It just brought back a lot of bad stuff into his head. It was kind of like being in the hospital again, really, but he wasn't going to start screaming his head off like a 12 year old again. He was just so worried. Erik was right, why was this all for free? Candy was one thing but the train and the inn? Sure, maybe they were just being nice after the whole ferry nightmare - but Tucker really didn't think so since the inn keeper so rudely kicked them out. That wasn't exactly so friendly at all.

"I wanted the four of us to meet up so we can try and figure something out... Maybe just the three of us then... It doesn't look like Bryan is going to be detaching himself from Noëlle any time soon."

He nodded again, that seemed like a good plan. His eyes wandered off to the younger counselor as well, who was beside his sister as usual. That was nice of him to do that... wait. Where were the other kids? Tucker's heart began racing. They were off to the tower already?! Did they not feel the horror radiating from the picture-perfect-sweet place?! His eyes filled with even more worry as his breathing quickened. His hands balled into fists. Where were they? Up the floors? What if he couldn't save them? What if he couldn't save the others... like last time?

His mind was kind of screaming at him. It was like his brain just went on overdrive. He squeezed his eyes really tightly, inhaling deeply. As he exhaled, he brought himself back to his conversation with Erik. Silence for a second, until he caught onto the last word of the other counselor, as he turned to face him again.

"...'free candy.'"

Complete with air quotes. Once more, he nodded, before finally separating his lips and speaking, "We have to work fast. Kids are already buying the candy act. Where's Julius?"

She listened quietly as Adrian talked about what instruments he played. So he was a pianist too? That was cool. And he played the violin. He wasn't just one of those all guitar stringed instrument guys. That was nice. He didn't look too good, and he also didn't answer her question about being all right. Maybe I'm bothering him...

❝ I used to be on the swim team. Won a couple of tournaments, but never went major league. Do you do any sports? ❞

This was getting weird... ❝ Oh ah no. I don't do athletics. I like swimming, but have never done it like for school, or anything... ❞ she told him. They seemed to have a lot in common. She chewed on the inside of her cheek as she thought that over. Her face still burned and she was about ready to rip her sweater off. Her legs were no longer cold, but her knees knocked together as her legs trembled. How was it that they had so much in common? Pierce took a deep breath, steadying herself. She had no clue what to do in these types of situations. Talking to someone for this long--let alone a boy she liked--was still new. The most social interaction she had had prior to this in a long time was with Sophie earlier that morning.

❝ So um... Do you... like candy? You haven't eaten anything. ❞ She picked at a few small things as they walked down the aisles, but didn't take anything that would cost more than a few cents. Even if Carman had said it was free, she still felt guilty about taking it without the owner's permission.

The first few moments of Alex being in the candy shop, he didn't notice anything aside from all the candy. Normally he wasn't the kind of person who would go crazy over candy, which was normally because he got usually a candy bar once every few months. This however was something else, being surround by all this candy was a shock to him. ​

​

He broke out of the state he'd put himself in so that he could actually taste one of the candies around him. Choosing to start off simple, he went with a gumball. To no shock at all it was tasty, almost making him take another one. But he decided to hold off on that idea, at least for now. Instead he decided to look around. As he walked around he took note of the stairs, making sure to see them again.​

Continuing his walk he saw Lexi, the girl he briefly talk too, speaking with someone else. Now he did want to talk to her, but he wasn't going interrupt her conversation. Instead he stopped walking nearby her and made sure that it wouldn't look too suspicious. The whole stalker look was something that he was trying to avoid here.​

 

❝ Oh ah no. I don't do athletics. I like swimming, but have never done it like for school, or anything... ❞ Pierce responded. Adrian looked to the floor. Sad..but whatever. He would respect this girl's wishes. He followed her with his hands in his pockets. His burning hand had started to cool down, to Adrian's relief and horror.

❝ So um... Do you... like candy? You haven't eaten anything. ❞ Pierce replied. That made Adrian's head shoot up.
"I've kinda been wondering about that too..." Adrian said, unsure how to respond, "I've been wondering whether I should or should not, but my gut keeps telling me that somethings off. And besides, I shouldn't eat junk food." The two made it near a railing, overlooking the bottom floor. As Adrian looked down, he saw two of the counselors conversing. They looked serious and worried.
"And it definitely doesn't look like I'm the only one with a bad feeling either." Adrian said grimly.

He looked to Pierce, saying, "Don't take anymore candy. It might seem like a good idea, but don't you see that something's wrong? Help from strangers, clean rooms, free train tickets...the more an more I think about it, the more and more-"
A sharp blast of pain caught Adrian by surprise. He let out a short cry of pain as he clenched his left eye. He started to see through a red filter. Not again...

Tucker looked unbelievably uncomfortable--even worse than Erik did. "We have to work fast. Kids are already buying the candy act. Where's Julius?"

Erik glanced around, unsure of himself. "I haven't seen him. He might be on one of the other floors. I dunno, but you're right. We do. We should grab Julius and try to pry Bryan away from his sister long enough to figure something out. I really don't like being here and I don't care if I have to use my credit card to pay for cabs to drive all the way out here from Candlewood in order to get the kids back. This whole thing has me feeling uneasy and they shouldn't be eating the candy." His eyes narrowed and his brow wrinkled in frustration. More than anything, Erik really wanted a smoke. It had been too long and with his anxiety peaked as high as it is, that would be the only thing to calm him down.

He pushed off from the wall and pointed with his thumb at Bryan. "I'm gonna grab him and then we'll see about finding Julius. You wait here, 'kay?"

Erik zigzagged through the small cluster of kids and the rows upon rows of candy until he reached Bryan and Noëlle. He set one hand down on the younger guy's shoulder and pointed back towards Tucker. "Hey newbie, ya' mind meeting now? We kinda need to talk." His voice was friendly, but laced with the undertones of authority. He let go of Bryan's shoulder and moved back to Tucker's side, not waiting for the kid to follow after him.

When Richie grabbed her hand, she happily followed him into the bright, colorful and super cute! candy store. Her bony fingers dug into the pile of candy near them. She cupped them up in handfuls, admiring all their colors. She didn't dare eat one - not because it was really sketchy too (though that was kind of a thrill on its own) but because she could already see all the calories she was holding in her hands. She kind of wanted to keep them just because they looked so cute - but she just dropped them back into their pile. There must have been much cuter shapes and colors in other floors anyway. These were just circle candies in bright colors.

"This place is like a sweet dream, don't you think?"

She smiled brightly at her friend, "Absolutely!!" she squeaks. Then she grabbed her friend's hand and pulled him deeper into the candy shop. She noticed that a couple students had already gone up a couple floors - there must have been even more cute things in store up there! She eagerly hauled Richie with her as she made her way up the colorful stairs. "There must be a ton more up there! Look, there's even a third floor!"

No one was at the third floor yet, what if there was something super-duper-incredibly cute up there?! She passed other students, like Sophie and Pierce, but she didn't mind them much. She was too excited to see everything else! She was sure they'd understand, witht he huge grin still on her face. But once they met the stairway to the third floor, her smile disappeared in shock. She let go of her friend's hand too. There was a gate blocking the path - it was totally secure, no way of going in (and probably out). She inhaled and exhaled for a second, just staring at the gate. That was so weird. Why... why was the third floor blocked off?

Bryan didn't know if they were allowed to touch any of the candy or not, but the smell of the shop really was getting to him and making him a little dizzy. Maybe this wasn't a good place to stay in for long. Still, he had to admit, some of this stuff looked pretty good.

As he was looking around with Noëlle, he felt a hand on his shoulder and looked over in surprise, seeing Erik stare at him expectantly. "Oh, hey," he greeted with a smile.

"Hey newbie. Ya' mind meeting now? We kinda need to talk." he asked, and Bryan cocked his head to the side.

"I wish you wouldn't call me that," he said with a frown, but complied to go anyway, wondering if something was up, "I'll be back," he told his sister, and followed Erik back to Tucker. "Hey there," he greeted, "What's this about?"

xxxxxThe inside of the candy store was both lovely and sickening. Large, pristine, colorful ... It smelled like delicious diabetes. Her shoes made a smacking sound against the cool, pure white tile beneath her, and the tinkering melody that she could hear outside continued unfiltered. Honestly, she felt safe here. It was strange, but it reminded her of an amusement park, and once you forgot about the eerie fog and strange attitudes of the residents, it was really quite a colorful, magical town.

Her heart felt particularly calm with Bryan beside her. He was holding her hand and it was driving her crazy. If only he knew ... She peered up at his face with wide, genuine eyes before distracting herself with one of the jaw breaker candy dispensers.

❝You think they'll give us a tour?❞

❝I hope so,❞ she replied with a small smile. ❝I want to see the other floors.❞

Her arm lifted to motion towards the staircase to the second floor. It seemed open enough, but it felt intrusive -- to her -- to ascend without some kind of guide.

❝Hey, um... I just wanted to say thank you. You know. Since you saved me during the forest fire and all...❞

Electric Blue stood before her. Why now, of all times? Noëlle didn't look annoyed, though. Instead, she smiled. The smile faded a bit as she thought about it. There was nothing to feel proud about, she had started the fire after all.

❝Err ... Don't mention it.❞ Though, thank you for thanking me.

She turned her attention elsewhere, taking her mind off of it. The trolley man was behind the front counter, humming energetically to himself, and nibbling on a piece of white almond chocolate. Her mouth watered, and then ...

❝Noëlle? Hey . . . I have a bad feeling about this. Please don't eat any?❞

Her lips formed a literal pout before she regained her dignity and put on a pleasant face, instead.

❝Quentin,❞ She considered his request, nearly scoffing to herself. She didn't like being told what to do, but ... these circumstances were a bit strange, and Quentin looked genuinely concerned, so maybe she'd let it slide -- this time. What if there really was something up with the candy here? It wouldn't have been worth it ... Her fingers wrapped around Bryan's a bit tighter, for comfort. ❝... Sure.❞

Then, she turned back towards Bryan, about to ask him if he would try any of the candy.

❝Hey newbie, ya' mind meeting now? We kinda need to talk.❞ Erik stood before them and she stopped herself from glaring, clutching Bryan's fingertips a bit tighter -- maybe to the point of pain. She didn't want him to go, and it was evident. Yeah, it was probably much more important that he spoke with the counselors but ... She sighed and loosened her grip on his hand.

Selfish. Bad.

He left her and she folded her arms over her chest, sighing.

It felt odd being so high and able to look down on them all. ❝ And it definitely doesn't look like I'm the only one with a bad feeling either. ❞ Adrian said grimly. She wondered what he meant until her gaze raked across Tucker and Erik. They seemed to be busy talking and looking grim. She watched as Erik made his way over to Bryan and said something that she couldn't quite hear, before stalking back to Tucker. Adrian looked to Pierce, saying, ❝ Don't take anymore candy. ❞ She dropped the piece that was halfway to her mouth and it hit the floor, rolling off the ledge. ❝ It might seem like a good idea, but don't you see that something's wrong? Help from strangers, clean rooms, free train tickets...the more an more I think about it, the more and more- ❞

She jumped, startled by his sudden grip on his face. ❝ Adrian! Adrian are you okay? ❞ He cried out in pain and was clenching his teeth. What just happened? ❝ Hey, hey w-what's wrong? ❞ Gently she prodded at his shoulder, but took a shaky step back. She didn't understand what was going on with him. Pierce waved her arms above her head, the sleeves falling down to her elbows as she looked down at the counselors frantically. ❝ H-hey! Up here! Th-there's something wrong! ❞ Her legs were shaking and she had to hold the railing to keep herself upright. ❝ Adrian are you all right? ❞ she asked softly, fear rising in her voice.

As[/url] Elisa grabbed his hand and began pulling, Richie happily gave in and followed her. Together, the kawaii duo explored the colorful shoppe. His hands somehow found their way into one of the mounds of candy. He really shouldn't... he would surely throw up, which would ruin his sweet experience with his bestie!

Richie's head titled in confusion as Elisa stopped abruptly and detached from him. He had been too busy ogling over the cute scenery to even notice where he was going. Somehow they ended up on the second floor? Heh, he couldn't even recall going up a flight of stairs. The inquiring thoughts dissipated as the boy finally noticed what his friend seemed so distressed over. A locked gate?

...How weird.

Why would a gate need to be locked in a cute place like this? Was there something bad up there? Richie allowed his mind wander and fill with possibilities, some of which were not the most friendly. Maybe it was just the way to a storage room, or the janitor's closet? In a place like this, there's no way it could have been anything scary... right?

"Um... I think we might get in trouble if we stand by here, Elisa." He said gently to his friend. He grabbed her hand once again and led her near the flight of stairs that led back to the first floor. Luckily, there were a bench not too far from the stairs and Richie took a seat. Crossing his legs, he motioned for his friend to come sit down with him.

Lexi gave a smile to Noelle and turned to leave, when Stratana grabbed her arms and warned her not to eat anything else.

"Why though? Minty Muffs have been my favorite forever! I know it's a bit weird to be just taking free candy like this, but it's not like they can intentionally sell poisoned or tampered with candy, right?" Lexi noted the look of fear in Stratana's eyes. It was sincere and completely caring. "...Alright, fine. I won't eat anymore." Lexi tossed the rest of her Minty muffs in the garbage can, thinking it rude to put them back. "Just buy me some when we get home, alright Strat?" She giggled. "Where'd Sebastian and Natalie go? We should find them."

Natalie smiled at Sebastian. "You can call me that." He told her about his worry with the candy, and her lollipop was plucked from her mouth. "Well okay then... If you say so. I don't see why they'd tamper with their merchandise, seems weird. Either way, let's go find Lexi and Stratana, then we can all explore the rest of the shop. Sound good?"

And so they moved out and soon enough they were off into an odd candy store. The man that worked the trolley was quite the nice man and though he appreciated this, he was quite surprised that they got so much support. Sure they needed to get the kids home as soon as possible, but it would be that bad to spend some time back. After the ferry and forest incident it wouldn't have hurt for them to merely relax a bit.​

It was odd that they were getting all this free things and though he was getting all this free things, he hated to rely too much on others when it really was not necessary. He did not really like that they were heading straight towards a candy store and he had a very bad feeling about it. Candy and teens were not a good a good mix and he definitely did not want to deal with hyper kids. When he thought about it he thought of maybe shoving some sugar down Adrian's throat...the kid definitely needed to lighten up...but then again a hyper Adrian would probably be extremely weird. ​

With another exasperated sigh, Julius merely walked along into the store. Most of the kids had already headed into the room so he was one of the last few to enter the room. The kiddos were all about searching around the gigantic store and Julius hoped to god the kids didn't do anything stupid. As he stared around his gaze caught the sight of the three kids that were counsellors which worked out quite well for Julius. Julius felt speaking to the other three would be the best option and they would be able to plan out things much more easily. "Yo kiddos" Julius said walking up to them​

Her lip was swollen and purple for biting it so hard and long to try and hold back the tears. She was the only one left on the trolley and her side her exponentially. She felt alone, being there by herself, but she didn't have the energy to join the rest of them in the candy shop.

Maria slid down in the seat until her whole body was stretched out on its surface, her left side up. Curly blond hair fell in waves around her face and hung off the edge of the bench. She was tired, but the words from Nurse Amy bothered her too much for sleep. That creepy old man doctor was a little more handsy than she thought a doctor should be and it was unsettling. They just kept staring at her like some foreign object and a chill ran down her spin. She shivered, which caused more pain in her side. I could really go for a sweater right about now.

It was silent and lonely by herself on the trolley. Anyone could join her, but she doubted any of them would come back some time soon. They were probably having fun in that sweet smelling shop. It made her mouth water just thinking about it. She wished for something to do--music to listen to, someone to talk to, anything really. Maria didn't like being alone. She enjoyed having people swarm her and give her attention. Being sick or injured had its benefits in that matter, but not right now. At the moment she was alone.

She remembered how concerned Bryan looked when she appeared in the hall. There was something wrong with her. Why couldn't she remember what happened yesterday? It made her head hurt.

Spending time with Noëlle would be a perfect opportunity to get to know Bryan better--to get to know both of them. She wouldn't be particularly disappointed in either of them, but Maria was pretty certain Noëlle only liked bo--had she ever seen the girl with a boy that was not her brother? Her head hurt thinking about it--not often, she assessed. Interesting. I wonder what she does like. With all her belongings lost to the ocean like Rose's necklace, she would have to ask Noëlle for her number once more, or some other way to contact her.

The summer would provide for her the long days necessary to worm her way in between the brother-sister duo. Noëlle was still in high school, so anything that happened there would not last long. On the other hand, she was starting her freshman year of college in the fall and Bryan his sophomore. Where was he going to school again? She wasn't really sure how she felt about long distance relationships, or relationships in general for that matter. They never seemed to last. Maria wasn't even sure she wanted a relationship, but running her fingers through that soft brown hair and caressing that creamy skin of his was too much to pass up. From what she knew, he seemed to have a lot of admirers, which just wouldn't do.

She sighed and the movement pulled on the butterfly stitches holding her cut side in together. Her hands fumbled for the pill bottle in her pocket and it slid out, landing on the floor. It rolled out of reach and she gave an exasperated groan. She just wanted one. One, in addition to what was already in her system, would be enough to dope her up into the necessary drug induced stupor that would help her sleep until the rest of them came back. The pain would be gone and she would be too out of it to notice how cold she was. Because of the dress she had been wearing, she was currently lacking a bra. Maria draped her left arm over her chest to cover the evidence as the cotton tee clung to her body. Goosebumps encased her flesh and the chill tickled its way up and down her spine. Her toes curled in as they burned from the cold. Maria wished she could curl up to try and get at least a little bit warmer, but anything tighter and she was bound to start bleeding again, not to mention the severe pain that would surely accompany. She needed a doctor in an actual hospital, not some hack in Crazy Town.

Adrian's pain turned from bad to worse.
❝ Adrian! Adrian are you okay? ❞ It was Pierce. She somehow noticed the pain, and she was about to panic. She looked down the railing and yelled,❝ H-hey! Up here! Th-there's something wrong! ❞ She turned back and check Adrian, asking,❝ Adrian are you all right? ❞

"I'm fine!" Adrian said. But another chord of pain struck his left eye. He clenched it harder, fearing that his eye would pop out of it's socket. "Ok fine, I'm not!" He admitted, "This started as soon as breakfast started, and it's been getting worse ever since-"
Another shirk of pain. Adrian shrieked again. His vision was getting weaker.
"LET ME OUT!"
Adrian couldn't take it anymore. He was starting to lose control. His hearing dulled, he stopped breathing...and then, an image appeared. It was Pierce. She looked scared. Her eyes said only one word: "Don't die on me."

Adrian's body slackened. His hearing regained control of itself, and he took a deep breath. The pain in his head died away slowly. His hand fell from his face as he struggled to catch Pierce's hand. He let his knees fall to the floor, breaking his fall with his other hand. He soon realized what was wrong with him. "Pierce," He said shakily and quietly, "I think I might have two personalities. It's crazy as it sounds, but I think one must have developed after Toni's death."

 

Either way, let's go find Lexi and Stratana, then we can all explore the rest of the shop. Sound good?"

"Sounds good." Sebastian dropped the candy to the floor to make it look like its discarding had been an accident and headed with Natalie in hand to where spotted the two girls who stood side by side. It was funny; with Lexi's electric blue hair and Stratana's strawberry blond locks, they looked like poster-icons for a Cotton Candy brand. He voiced the little observance to Natalie before they came into earshot in an attempt to make her giggle. "Am I right?" He asked following the question, "They look like poster-icons for a Cotton Candy Brand; between the looks of their hair colors side by side." When they approached the pair of girls, Stratana spoke first.

"You had better been right, Sonata." Stratana crossed her arms under her chest as crossing them over usually posed difficulty. "I love pocky and Lexi apparently likes Minty Muffins." She got the name wrong with ignorance of the fact she did. "Deny a girl strawberry pocky without good reason, and you will know the meaning of pain." She growled enticingly.

Honestly, it was hard to take her seriously even when upset she sounded like the sort that always seemed about to invite the pizza man in just for showing up and proceed to become well acquainted with each others' hands. "Take a look around, Stratana." In his mind, that phrase should have ended with an audible "Stratana, you airhead", but he restrained himself for Natalie's sake. "What do you see?"

"Lots of candy. So?"

"Why is stocking up on candy such a priority when there doesn't seem to be a big population to demand a large supply?" Finally, those Economics lessons were paying off. Sebastian had always been intelligent, but that particular keen observation felt very smart.

"Um. Creeped out now. Thanks." Stratana began to lock her knees without wanting them too as her stomach sank.

Out of the corner of his eye Alex could see that Lexi had stopped talking to the pink haired person. Good, that would make talking to her all the more easier. Being quiet guy he was, a quick deep breath was needed before he went over to talk to her.​

Come on, you can do it.​

He didn't really have much of a choice right now. If he didn't then his voice would probably nag him about it until he actually did do it. Alex stood there for a few more moments before walking over to her. It was simple, just say something and the rest would just follow. That's what he told himself up until he got with speaking range of her.​

"Um y-your L-lexi right?" There he spoke, now he could only wait for a response.​

​

Congratulations on completing step one.​

​

It wouldn't take a genius to figure that the other steps would get harder the more he talked to her, but hopefully he'd be able to take them. Depending on what they were at least.​

Natalie giggled at his statement. It was incredibly true. "You ARE right." Stratana proceeded to then argue with Sebastian about the demand and supply of Candy. When they finished she glared at Stratana. "Yeah! You airhead!" Then stuck her tongue out at the girl.

Lexi couldn't help but giggle at the airhead comment. It was then that Alex approached her.

"Um y-your L-lexi right?"

"Yep! That's me." She looked him up and down. "You're... Alex right? We met before the bus ride! How ya doing cutie?" She asked loudly with a giggle and wink, "enjoying the candy shop? Just don't eat anything, because my friends say it's weird and deadly." Lexi turned and looked at them, then kept talking to Alex. "Apparently, there isn't enough people here to demand this supply of candy. Which doesn't make sense, because there are people that like candy a lot! Just like me! I love me some Minty Muffs!" The candy had made her hyperactive. Sure, she was near people she knew, but the sugar in all the Minty Muffs she ate had made her even more obnoxious.

[/url]No one seemed to notice her shouting and Pierce was panicking. Her heart beat rapidly in her chest and blood pounded in her ears. Her hands were shaking as she stood idly by, staring at Adrian in horror. ❝ I'm fine! ❞ he snapped, much too quickly. ❝ Ok fine, I'm not! ❞ He admitted, ❝ This started as soon as breakfast started, and it's been getting worse ever since- ❞

He was writhing in pain and tears began to bubble up at the brim of her eyelids. She didn't know what to do. ❝ Ever since what? ❞ she asked sharply. Tension in her voice was thick and she was barely able to choke out the words. Pierce wanted him to keep talking because if he could still talk then he was still okay. Adrian landed on his knees and was barely holding himself together.

He looked up at her, suddenly in less pain. Adrian actually looked all right, albeit, a little worse for wear. ❝ Pierce, ❞ He said shakily and quietly, ❝ I think I might have two personalities. It's crazy as it sounds, but I think one must have developed after Toni's death. ❞

Pierce stared at him blankly. Her lashes bat away a few straggling tears that had managed to reach the surface. That made absolutely no sense at all. ❝ B-but, it doesn't work like that... ❞ she said blankly. Her mind was working in overtime, trying to process what was going on. It hurt--thinking. Everything was rather empty inside. ❝ I... um... ❞ Her legs shook like gelatin and she could feel herself ready to collapse, overwhelmed by the adrenaline that was now dissipating. ❝ I should go. ❞ She spun on her heel and ran off back in the direction of the staircase that lead to the first floor. She didn't know what to do. Things didn't make sense and she couldn't really deal with something like that at the moment. It probably made her look like a terrible person and if she had any shot with him at all, it would be completely gone now.

She tripped when reaching the bottom step and knocked over a barrel filled with some sort of brown hard candy. The contents spilled out onto the floor and she smacked her knees and wrist hard on the ground. Pierce choked back a sob and locks of brown hair that had come loose from the bun fell in her face.
