A new person arrived to sit along with him and this pleased Julius a bit. The man had hardly spoken to any of the actual adults of the group and he felt it would have been a nice change of pace. Turning his gaze from the window, Julius glanced over at Erik and noticed the stress that the boy was feeling. He couldn't blame the kid since what they were going through was far from normal. Erik was far too fatigued and he could tell that he was really not trying to hide the fact. Rather than starting a tiring conversation, Julius decided to merely turn his attention back to the window and wait to see if he was willing to talk or not.

With his elbow resting on the windowsill and his cheek resting on his fist, Julius silently watched the scenery go by. When he heard the words of Erik address him, Julius' eye glance over at him once more and then once again outside "Nightmares....they never end...there will always be something that will cause chaos in our lives and what we call these forms of chaos is nightmares" Julius said nonchalantly as if he was speaking more to himself that to the one sitting across from him. A small calm smile crept across his face and Julius closed his eyes "but still...I know what you are talking about and yes...I feel it too. Its not unreasonable to feel some form of paranoia after not one...but two disasters" Julius said crossing his arms.

"honestly from what I'm seeing, these kids are also feeling paranoid as well. Our main goal is to get these kids home, but we cant rush things or otherwise something may occur that we might severely regret later on. Once we can say the kids are home and safe...then we can breath a breath of relief" Julius said. He knew that some of this were things that Erik and the others had already figured out, but Julius wished to at least say what was in his mind. The kids were still young, still had much to go in the game of life and Julius wished their journey did not end so early.

Adrian opened an eyelid, half closed, at Julius's speech. He wasn't exactly paranoid, just more of the person that would spring into action rather than panic. From what he heard, stress gives you wrinkles, but that's what you get for listening to Toni's stereotypical statements.
    Toni...

Adrian turned his head toward Pierce. So far, no interaction had been made, but Adrian's stomach had already felt like it was carrying a lead ball. He was itching to talk to Pierce, but he couldn't, fearing she might run away again. He almost began to fidget, something that he never did. What was the big deal about this girl? Adrian can look at any other girl with a straight bored face, but with Pierce, he couldn't look at her without his mind processing gibberish. Pathetic, much?

Soon, Adrian gave in to the instincts of pheromones, and asked Pierce quietly, "What's your favorite color, Pierce?"

Emalynn had been woken up abruptly and was kicked out of the inn. The not-too-friendly inn keeper sure hadn't bothered keeping her rudeness hidden. Who was she to blame her though. A bunch of random campers that randomly showed up and asked for rooms to stay in? For free? Emalynn would be grumpy too. At least they were kicked out with a place to go. Home. Cane had offered a train ride, but after the ferry incident Emalynn was somewhat worried about how this excursion would go . . .

Regardless she cooperatively packed and left the inn with the group. She was tired, so she did not bother socializing with the other campers while on the trolley. When they made it to the train station, accident-free, Emalynn was a bit relieved. Not to say that she was completely relaxed, they still had the entire train ride. She hoped that nothing else would happen as she stepped into the train. Please, just this once. Don't let anything bad happen. . .

She scanned the train for a vacant seat. Most of the campers were already seated and talking to each other. She really had no choice but to sit with a group of people, but she wondered if she should sit with people she knew or with people she didn't. Widening her social network was probably a good idea. However, with people that she knew, Emalynn could probably keep a conversation going without getting bored.

The first people that she recognized were Jenna and Sean. Might as well play it safe. Emalynn walked over to them and sat across from the two. "Still having fun with Sean, I see?" Emalynn said aloud. Jenna nodded with a smile. Emalynn sighed. "So how have things been for you?" she asked, addressing Sean this time.

Emalynn seemed to be playing nice, and this seemed odd to Sean. All the same, given the more recent past, the ancient history seemed irrelevant; they had all been through the same matters, and were put through the same ringer together. Emalynn had asked Jenna a question shortly after they'd pick a place to sit down. The train rattled noisily all around as the cars bumped and knocked.

"How have things been for you" And she seemed to be talking to him rather than Jenna this time. It took him some time to think up an answer. Things had been rough, but Emalynn had to already know that.

"Still... kind of beat up from the Ferry." He choked. It was odd being in a conversation with someone who despised him a few days ago, but he realized he wasn't quite the same person he was then either. "How have you been?" He asked in reply. Oddly enough, Jenna had stayed quiet the whole time Sean had.

Lexi opened the cabin door and say down with Stratana and Alex. "Here we are. Nice cabin for the three of us. I'd have asked Natalie to come, but she seems busy with that Sebastian guy." She sat. "So Alex, what were your plans at camp?"

Lexi was oblivious to Stratana's disapproval. Even then, why should it have mattered? Lexi didn't like guys as anything but friends.

"Gee, I don't know." Natalie said playfully. "Why don't you tell me what you think of me first? Unless all you think of me is that I'm cute?"

Natalie wouldn't let him have his answer so easily. He's have to work for it. The more she played hard-to-get, the more he seemed interested in her, so what she was doing obviously seemed to be working. Just perfect! Maybe, just maybe, by the end of this train ride, she'd have what she wanted...

James stretched his limbs and then his jaw. Practicing vocal excerises for practices sake. He was happily full and that was one less thing to worry about. He did slightly worry about this train exploding and their bodies never being found, but he figured two times was enough times for the cosmos to f*ck them. He settled back comfortably into his cushiony chair and gazed out the window without really taking in the scenery. He could feel a daydream coming on and he welcomed the distraction.

It was time for his favorite show! James! Staring James as James and co-staring Emalynn as Wife. In today's episode, James sat at a dinner table and at and sang and ate, and sang. Singing was the requirement that Wife demanded of him if he wanted her to feed him endlessly. So she toiled in the kitchen, preparing his goodies and treats while he belt out a verse or chorus or two. As happy as this story seemed to be, a sharp, spear like thought was flung at his happy dream bubble, it shattered into a million pieces as the thought said, "What if she can't cook?" His cheek twitch and his head snapped up. Dear God, what if she was an awful cook!?

He leapt up to his feet, aside from her natural friendly demeanor and underlying frost, he knew next to nothing about her. He was no stalker, though he could watch her all day long. She had such amazing grace. Anyway, the point was that he needed to find her before he proposed to her in his senior year and found out late that she can only burn water.

"You really want to know what I think?" Sebastian blushed. No one was usually this flirtatious with him, because it was usually him doing hopeless flirting. "I won't lie. I find you attractive. I haven't known you a very long time, and there's even a bit of an age gap." He stepped closer to her. "Still, it's not like your a child and two, it's not like you act like one. Lastly, I suppose I should point out that someone seems to hate us. We've been fighting for our lives quite a bit, as I've said before, and not once have I figured I'd ever find the necessity in this." And he placed his hand just on her waist, and kissed at the nape of her neck. He retracted from the brief, soft kiss to her collarbone and stared her straight in the eyes. "How does that answer suite you?" A slight, lopsided smile appeared on a corner of his recently applied lips.

Meanwhile, Stratana was breathing fire. She had to try to remain calm as she shared a cabin with Alex and Lexi, wondering how much they were attracted to one another. Stratana had never had something like she was getting from Lexi, and her ***** mode fully activated to try and fight off this infection. All at the same time, all that rage built up inside her because she was afraid of Lexi being upset at her for blowing up when there was no obvious proof something was going on. On the inside, she wanted to rip Alex's head off, but on the outside, she smiled blandly with flared nostrils.

At the same time, she considered just flashing little Alex a looksee of herself. Maybe that would divert some of his attention away from Lexi? Well, it would probably sick him after her. Wasn't that always the case when she'd toyed with men in the past? Something about a thin layer of cloth could really do a male ego some damage, and the removal of it replaced sanity entirely. That was just the top half, which she had used more often to play games with minds. Any further down was usually reserved for actually permitting a game where two players were very much involved. Either head games, both involving very different heads, were usually dull unless minds were completely lost over her.

However, now she was losing her mind. She didn't like how her belly had creeped onto the very edge of her lap almost instantly when she sat down, and she didn't like how her thighs filled her the edges of her shorts like a plump souffle fit a bowl. Even her arms had gotten slightly thicker, but most of all, she didn't like Alex. Still... if she even started to feel like her cheeks had plumped up or if a double chin was even starting to form from her recent, but currently abandoned, excess intake, she would make that top of the list in peeces. She hadn't eaten too much at breakfast, but she knew the thing about weight gain was, once it started, things tended to snowball depending on the metabolism. Oddly enough, her's was extremely low, despite her once prominently hip-boned figure. UGH! She just wanted Lexi to kick this guy out... but was that because she didn't like him or she just wanted to be alone with Lexi again? Now, she was starting to get more comfortable to these questions, and the answer came to be obvious when she looked over at Lexi and felt the need to scratch her knee to suppress the feelings coming over her, the knee having nothing to do with it, rather more the burning sensation in her quadriceps.

It always made Bryan feel good to think about his relationship with his sister because he knew it wasn't a typical one. That strange, ridiculous phase where siblings went though this 'I hate you for no reason' stage never happened to them, and he was pretty happy for that.

It was never really a worry his that they were closer than normal, even though there had been more than one person to say that they thought it was strange -- including their mom. Bryan couldn't do anything to change their minds, but ignore them and let it be. He loved Noëlle, she loved him , and they would always be there for each other just like a good brother and sister would.

He had never really thought about what would happen when they got older. Would they grow apart? That felt like a bit of a minor worry. Noëlle would eventually fall in love with someone, settle down and maybe have some kids . . . Then she might forget about him. But that was alright with Bryan -- really. As long as she was happy, he would be, too.

Still, he hadn't thought that far ahead, and he wondered if she hadn't either. It was a bit weird, thinking about growing up like that and leaving each other. She just seemed like . . . something that was always there.

She would always be okay on her own, without him. He was never too worried about her becoming dependent on him because she was a social butterfly, and he always thought she was good at making friends. Noëlle liked talking to people, and people liked her -- and at the end of the day, if they all left her, at least Bryan would be there still, right?

His green eyes peered up, looking at her face. She looked a bit feverish -- ack, she wasn't sick, was she?

"Mm . . . Well," she began with a soft voice, and the moving along of the train filled the brief void before she continued, "The other night, during the scavenger hunt, I . . . Well, Alice got sick. I offered to take her back to the camp circle, and . . ." For a small moment, Bryan was internally horrified that his sister might be confessing to killing Alice. He frowned and felt a little heavy when she trailed off.

"I took us to a clearing, to have a smoke . . . I dropped the match I was using and . . . Everyone went up in flames s - so quickly . . . ! I hadn't meant to, I swear. I just." Bryan tried to not externally bite his lip. ". . . I went to go tell Alice we had to go, but there was a bear and I ended up running and the fire . . ."

That was one of the people he hadn't seen on the ferry. Alice. He definitely would have recognized her because she was so pale and . . . a bit tall. The bear, he remembered hearing that frightening roar. It killed Alice, didn't it? Bryan didn't know which he was more horrified by, the fact that Noëlle had started the forest fire, or the fact that a bear showed up and killed Alice.

"I don't know what to do, now. I'm scared of everyone finding out. I'm scared of everyone blaming me. I'm scared of confronting Alice's family, and I -- I'm really afraid of what you'll think. I've been feeling so distant from you lately and I wanted to tell you the night it happened but we didn't share a room. I ju - just don't know what to do."

"I told you to stop smoking . . ." he mumbled, so stunned that he couldn't say anything else to her. He had to think. "Don't smoke again." he continued after a long moment's silence.

    "I need help . . . Please don't hate me, please. I know it's my fault I just . . ."

Eventually, Bryan registered that she was crying, and found that he couldn't be mad at her because of the series of unfortunate events. The bear . . . was not her fault. Just a bit of bad luck. But the fire. It was her fault. God. He didn't know what to do. He couldn't betray his sister, he couldn't say anything to anyone about it. It was an accident. He moved to the other bench to comfort her, pulling her into a tight hug and stroking her soft pink hair.

"Shh, everything will be alright . . ." he murmured gently, shoving out all stunned emotions. Still, Bryan wasn't sure what else he was supposed to tell her. "I don't hate you . . . You just got a bad bit of luck, y'know? It happens. You're not a bad person, you're not a killer. I'm sorry we've been distant. Guess that's mostly my fault. Just keep this between us, okay? You won't get in trouble. I won't tell anyone. Everything will be alright, mmkay?" He pulled back from the hug and wiped the tears from her face.

Bryan loved his sister, but this . . . this was a bit much. For once, he was at a loss for a solution.

Lexi looked over at Stratana, who seemed a bit... Off. She had been quiet this entire trip and didn't seem right. "Stratana... Are you okay?" Lexi asked, "Get enough to eat at breakfast or..? Just let me know if you need anything, alright?" She winked at her friend. What was up with her though? It wasn't like Stratana AT ALL to just sit there and be quiet... Was she actually jealous of Alex? It certainly seemed that way. But why? Stratana couldn't like her THAT much already. Sure, they'd been through a lot together, and Lexi had saved her life, but what choice did she have? Stratana needed a friend, and no one had to go down with the ferry.

Natalie giggled with Sebastian's neck kiss. "Oh stop you." Then she raised an eyebrow and smiled. "It answers my question pretty well." She pondered it for a while. "But for now, let me just tell you, that I think the same about you. Although we should hold off. As much as I like you, we can't just rush."

She let out a breath. It was true. Rushing for you into a bad spot. "For now, do you wanna go see Lexi? Haven't talked to her in a while."

"Stratana... Are you okay?" Lexi asked, "Get enough to eat at breakfast or..? Just let me know if you need anything, alright?" And... she... winked at... her. That one little wink caused a bead of sweat to trickle down her back as she tried to think of a response. "I ate too much at breakfast." She lied; she'd barely eaten anything. "Upset stomach." She rubbed her stomach to give the lie credence, but retracted her hand when she discovered how mushy and pliable it was, while rather more plump than large. 'I need to be alone. Maybe with you.' This was the response she thought of, but only crossed one thickened leg over the other. Here again she realized mushiness, so she uncrossed them to realize even more: there was no longer a gap of empty air between her legs. "Lexi, I don't want to be on this train. I don't like feeling chubby and not being able to move." She didn't like feeling chubby period, but she'd never actually admit openly she was starting to describe herself as anything but perfect.

Sebastian heard her. "Oh stop you." Then she raised an eyebrow and smiled. "It answers my question pretty well." She seemed to ponder it for a while. "But for now, let me just tell you, that I think the same about you. Although we should hold off. As much as I like you, we can't just rush."

"I couldn't agree more. I don't think apologies are necessary for the one little forward act, because my guess is you sort of enjoyed that, judging by your reaction." He gave a wink. "Plus, things will be much slower as you wish. You know how guys work, and as much as I am a nice guy and a smart guy, I'm also a guy; you should know we're working at your pace, and I am completely fine with that. Just don't feel like you have to ask when the time is right." He removed his hand but kept his gaze locked on her eyes.

"For now, do you wanna go see Lexi? Haven't talked to her in a while."

"I like the sound of the idea if that means you'll be there." He felt like being humorous, and purposefully corny.

"Richie, nice to meet you." Quentin didn't like the name, so he didn't really register it compared to the boy's face as he said it. He was definitely blushing and his voice was unstable, but that could have been the way he was dressed.

He wondered where Sophie was, and what Bryan and Noëlle were talking about. He still didn't know how close the two of them were. At least she was safe. He wasn't sure about Sophie since he had caught her at a bad time. Quentin was about to turn away to look down the hall when the boy spoke again.

"H-hey . . . um, you don't seem very . . . happy. Is something the matter . . . ?" Sigh. I should learn to hide my feelings. He tried to brighten his expression, but he was not sure how effective it was. "No, I'm just bored." That meant something was the matter to him, but others tended to disagree.

"You, on the other hand, seem untroubled despite our fortunes and state of dress. What has you in such high spirits?" The boy had even less than Quentin did, yet he was smiling. Maybe it was because he was attractive. Or it could have something to do with why he was so focused on me. In any case, he would find out.

    WEATHERPARTLY CLOUDY 62°! ✖『DATE & TIME』 6/18/2013 - 11:31AM ✖『DAY』 04

It felt nice, having finally told someone what happened. Her heart felt heavy, but her shoulders felt a bit lighter now. Just a bit. The tears came in waves, stopping and flowing again, making her clutch Bryan's chest tighter and pull her legs up onto the cushion of the cabin seat. He told her to keep it a secret. It had been something she was very ... conflicted about, and it felt good to hear him say it -- no matter how awful it sort of was. A secret between them. Maybe someday, with his support, she would confess to it, for Alice's sake ... No, for everyone who had perished.

She wasn't sure if she would stop smoking entirely, but the thought of a cigarette any time soon made her feel nauseous. If only she had listened to Bryan ...

Honestly, she was getting a little bit annoyed with herself. So much self-pity. So much crying, gah! Summer wasn't supposed to be like this ... Her birthday, too ... She almost looked forward to school starting in the fall. Her fingers longed for the strings of harp, and the smooth keys of a piano. Those things could be found at home, but there was something about Fortissimo.

The sound of a food cart (she assumed) alerted her attention and she pulled herself reluctantly away from Bryan, sniffling and smiling just a bit.

Thank you, her voice sounded nasally and groggy. I'll be back, I want to see if there's a bathroom. She sniffled for emphasis, knowing her puffy face needed some serious cleaning up.

Her fingers twisted at the lock, and she almost stepped out when something occurred to her.

Cupid's Brew lay snug in her bag. Her and Bryan were alone, in the cabin of the train. The food cart just passed. They had some major time before they were home.

Something was definitely wrong with her, for thinking of this so soon. Was she really not satisfied by their embrace? Could she really not just wait?

... She'd let fate decide. Her heart needed healing and the image of that doctor was fresh in her head. She hadn't told Bryan about that yet, and maybe she didn't have to. Maybe he could make her forget how helpless he had made her feel, another way.

Back tracking, she bent down over her bag, grabbing a shirt and wrapping it around the bottle. Her legs stretched as she stood and rolled her shoulders.

My shirt is kind of ... Ick, now, too. One last thing. You don't have to stay. Richie really did want to talk to you.

She shrugged with a smile and left the area, her heart thumping loudly against her chest and her head spinning. Quickly, she started to walk down the aisle, looking for the bathroom. When she didn't find it, she asked a woman stocking blankets and was told it was in the second car of the train. The woman was thanked, and Noelle was off, obtaining two bottles of water from the food cart on her way.

There. If Bryan stayed, then maybe she would try this aphrodisiac or whatever out. I not, then it wasn't meant to be -- and she'd be okay. Maybe she'd try and move on ...

The embrace was held for about as long as Bryan expected it, and he let Noëlle cry as much as she wanted to until she calmed down. In the situation, his shirt was the only victim, but he didn't mind so much.

He he had to admit, though, this was a pretty big secret, and she could get in some serious trouble for this if anyone ever found out -- but if it was just the two of them knowing, then there shouldn't be any worries. And who knew, maybe one day they would tell everyone, together. Bryan, of course, would take half of the fall because that was what big brothers did.

Bryan knew that this was turning out to be one heck of a summer.

The food cart was passing, and on sound, Noëlle pulled herself away from him, wearing a small smile on her face while sniffling. "Thank you," she said, "I'll be back, I want to see if there's a bathroom."

"Alright then," he said with a smile, "Go get yourself cleaned up." He watched her walk to the door, but she paused and seem to think about something. Was she going to cry again? Bryan prepared to comfort her. He didn't blame her for being so shaken up.

"My shirt is kind of . . . Ick, now, too." she explained after a long pause at the door, and then continued, "You don't have to stay. Richie really did want to talk to you." After shrugging and a smile, she left the cabin, and then Bryan leaned back into the cushioned chair.

He wondered why Richie wanted to talk to him or what about? Bryan didn't mind, and if the situation weren't so . . . What was the word for it? Stretched? Eh . . . He would go, but Noëlle was his top priority at the moment . . . besides changing his shirt. He reached for his bag and striped off the dark gray polo, trading it for a dark green v-neck, and then shoving the polo into his bag.

With a sigh, Bryan sat back down and leaned his head back, waiting for his sister to return. Richie could wait -- they hadn't been spending as much time together as he wanted anyway, and Noëlle looked like she could use the company.

At one point or another, Sophie found that she really missed her music. She sat in a private cabin near the back of the train, but the only sound was the rumbling and growling of the train that moved along with speed. Trains and other vehicles were all dangerous; that thought only intensified after the ferry had sunk. She half-expected this thing to crash, with their recent luck.

Sophie sighed and stood, securing what was left of her luggage under the seat, and then leaving the cabin in search of amusement. She didn't have to look hard for it, that was for sure, because not long after she had left her cabin, she saw Quentin, and the boy Richie ( who was only wearing a towel around his waist and a pair of slippers ) talking to each other. What an unlikely pair, she thought to herself.

She decided to sit with them. She had never talked to Richie before, but this would be a fun first little bit. "You know," she began wholesomely, "I'm sure how well you'll be able to seduce Quentin here with your lollipops." She smiled, motioning to the little designs on his towel.

"No, I'm just bored." Quentin seemed like he was staring through Richie, almost like he was studying him. Did he interest him...? He continued, "You, on the other hand, seem untroubled despite our fortunes and state of dress. What has you in such high spirits?"

The boy smiled at one of his crushes. "Um... I don't really know, if I'm honest." He laughed slightly. "I mean, I know most people would be depressed or something after all that's happened but, like... I just find that so pointless. Pitying yourself for situations that you had no control of." Richie shrugged. He suddenly got really serious, and he hoped Quentin didn't mind. He didn't seemed like the type of person who would mind, since he seemed pretty serious himself.

"You know, I'm sure how well you'll be able to seduce Quentin here with your lollipops."

Richie smirked as the unfamiliar voice rang through his ears. She took a seat right next to him... she looked familiar. Sophi...a? The boy felt his cheeks burn a bright red. The thought of those two bring together made his... "downunder" excited. He tightened his crossed legs so (hopefully) no one would notice. Now he could barely even make out any words. His throat felt dry and tense, and his stomach fluttered.

Richie only managed to ask, "W-what's your n-name?"

...He must seem like such a freak.

"Nightmares....they never end...there will always be something that will cause chaos in our lives and what we call these forms of chaos is nightmares," Julius said. A small calm smile crept across his face and Julius closed his eyes. "But still...I know what you are talking about and yes...I feel it too. Its not unreasonable to feel some form of paranoia after not one...but two disasters," Julius said crossing his arms.

Erik couldn't help but nod his head, agreeing. He couldn't have said it better, not that he wished to at any rate.

"Honestly from what I'm seeing, these kids are also feeling paranoid as well. Our main goal is to get these kids home, but we cant rush things or otherwise something may occur that we might severely regret later on. Once we can say the kids are home and safe...then we can breath a breath of relief." Julius said.

His hollow gaze met Julius's steadily. "That's what I was thinking--no time to rest until everyone has been taken care of." He leaned back again, resting his hands behind his head. His eyes drifted upwards, studying the patterns on the ceiling of the train. "I think," he started, "that it might be beneficial if the four of us get together and figure out a course of action for when the train pulls into Candlewood. We have to figure out a means for all the kids to get home." His brown eyes fell back down to Julius. "Safely," Erik added.

He stretched his arms out fully in front of his body and cracked his knuckles. Erik stood, stretching and cracking his limbs. His shoulders sagged when he was done and his whole body just had a general stiffness to it. He sighed and brushed his hair back out of his face. "I'm gonna go see if I can find Tucker and Bryan and then bring those two back here so we can figure out transportation without being bothered by all the kids." Erik nodded at Julius once before sliding the door of the private car open and stepping out into the narrow hallway.

THERE'S a STIRRING INSIDE of ME.

Pierce had been staring out the window when someone entered the private car. She didn't have to look in order to figure out whom it was. Her body reacted instantaneously. Pierce pulled herself in tighter and stayed close to the window. The chill from the glass helped cool her warming body. The sweater was suddenly too hot.

It was quiet in the private car, which made things even worse. There was an eerie awkward silence that left a knot in her stomach. Goosebumps covered her flesh and her heart beat rapidly in her chest. What's your favorite color, Pierce? came Adrian's soft questioning voice, finally breaking the silence.

She risked a glance over at him. He looked emotionally beaten and unkempt. Was something bothering him? His red hair fell down around his face and she quickly turned her attention back to the window, watching the world outside go by. She swallowed down the lump in her throat and finally responded after a could minutes. Red, she said softly. Yours? That wasn't so bad. They were talking--sort of. It would be nice to talk to him normally, but talking to anyone was hard enough, let alone someone she liked.

Her mind momentarily wandered to her lost items. Would it have been easier to talk to him if she had that potion? If only her stuff hadn't been stolen before the ferry ride. Someone out there knew she owned it. That sent a chill down her spine. Would they tell someone and why would they steal her pictures? Why did they want to take her stuff? She hadn't anything worth value aside from the locket and it was left alone, at least until it was all lost to the ocean when the ferry tipped. Now everything was gone.

Pierce sighed. She cocked her head to the left and glanced up at Adrian. Her chocolate brown eyes shimmered in the light as she studied him--his sharp jawline, golden eyes, and sweeping red hair. Her cheeks burned raised her arms slightly to hide her red face, only eyes visible above the fabric of her sweater. Are... Are you okay?

". . . I just find that so pointless. Pitying yourself for situations that you had no control of." Quentin nodded. The attitude sounded familiar, albeit a little too fatalistic for his liking. "I agree. It's better to know how to steer than to know where you're going." At that moment, he caught something out of the corner of his eye and looked up. Ah, Sophie. Great timing.

"You know, I'm not sure how well you'll be able to seduce Quentin here with your lollipops." She was talking to Richie. What a way to break the ice. He looked at her smirking face and back at Richie to see his reaction. He blushed and crossed his legs, not denying anything. Aha.

Richie addressed her shortly. "W-what's your n-name?" He was obviously trying to deflect attention from himself.

Sophie thought of things to reply with. She didn't really care for telling him her name, but it was a little silly not to. She was absolutely relishing that she had made the Richie squirm. "Sophie," she replied, "Nice to meet you, Richie."

Hmm, should I make him squirm a little more? It was too early for mercy, she thought, so . . . just a little more. "Quentin," she started with a genuine, sweet smile, "What do you think of Richie's lollipops?"

Quentin's smirk returned. He didn't see Sophie was prankster before, but it made sense. I'll play. "That depends. What part of him are you referring to?" He stared at Richie as he replied.

She was silently delighted that Quentin was going to play along for just a bit. Her face contorted into feigning horror, "The lollipops on his towel, of course!" she said, playing scandalous, "Gosh, Quentin, get your mind out of the gutter! Richie, isn't he just the worst?" She giggled.

A thought clicked in her mind and she leaned in to whisper something to Richie, "Between you and me, Quentin is really one of the most lewd homosexuals I've ever come across. Makes guys wanton." Knowing that Quentin didn't hear her, she slipped him a mischievous grin.

Quentin wanted to know what she told him. He leaned forward slightly, but she was too quiet. "Oh! Those. I didn't see them." He wasn't lying. He had been too focused on everything else to notice the pattern.

He decided to play a bit more. He spoke to Richie directly. "So, you want to seduce me?"

Sophie almost laughed at the forwardness of the question, and then leaned into whisper to Richie again, "Don't give in to him, he likes the chase. Play hard to get?"

The advice was completely bogus, but Sophie had to admit she was enjoying the hell out of this.

"Sophie. Nice to meet you, Richie." The girl's voice didn't sound very sincere. In fact, it didn't sound like anything really. Her voice sounded so monotone. It's chilling honesty made Richie shiver uncomfortably. Perhaps she was bored too?

Sophie continued. "Quentin, what do you think of Richie's lollipops?" The boy gulped as he hesitantly looked up to Quentin. Their eyes met, causing him to divert this gaze once again. Quentin replied. Oh no.

"That depends. What part of him were you referring to?"

    Fuck.

The duo continued to go back and forth, until finally Sophie whispered into Richie's ear. "Between you and me, Quentin is really one of the most lewd homosexuals I've ever come across. Makes guys wanton." Richie coughed and soon caught his breath. How did she know? Was he really that obvious about it?

Quentin seemed like the wanted to know on her secret message, but then recoiled and spoke directly to Richie. "So you want to seduce me?" Obviously, he hadn't heard what Sophie said. The green-eyed boy's cheeks felt like they were literally on fire. All this talk was so... hot, but it made him feel extremely uncomfortable. He'd just met these people, and they were already speaking so freely. But something didn't sit right in the pit of his stomach. The giggles, the sly smirks, the over playfulness. All of this seemed like... it was a game to them. Like Richie was their pawn, and they could manipulate him however they willed. The very thought made him furious, but he decided to keep this cool and mellow down. He would allow himself to be played for the remainder of their interaction because, like he previously thought, this was one hot conversation. Plus, acting like a dick now wouldn't do anything except make the situation worse.

Sophie bent down and whispered into Richie's ear for the second time. "Don't give into him, he likes the chase. Play hard to get?" He chuckled under his breath. How would he go about this...? Would he go for the timid appeal? Or the more casual approach, with a sexual undertone? Hm, it was quite a tough choice for the boy to make. He grinned devilishly.

"N-no...!" He shuffled the hands that were on his lap in the most abashed of manners. His quivering lips, blushing cheeks, and his uneven speak would surely play the innocent role just right. "I-I don't want to s-seduce a-anyone!" Richie's flustered appearance was genuine indeed, but he was overplaying it to the maximum. In a last attempt to toy with the mischievous pair, the brown-haired boy uncrossed his legs and revealed his stiff penguin under the towel.

    "O-oops..."

    WEATHERPARTLY CLOUDY 62°! ✖『DATE & TIME』 6/18/2013 - 11:51AM ✖『DAY』 04

Wow, she was nervous. This didn't exactly feel right, after all. She had placed the bottles of water in the sink of the small bathroom, changed her tear-stained shirt to a darker one, and placed the shimmering vial of Cupid's Brew up near the sink stopper.

Honestly ... Man, she really needed to make up her mind.

She wanted to, she really did. There was no doubt in her mind that Bryan wouldn't think of her the way she wanted him to, without it (even if she assumed it would be temporary). But ... Maybe it was better that way. How far could they really get, anyway? It was always sort of hopeless, wasn't it?

Her fingers curled against the edge of the sink and tears threatened to fall, but she managed to stop them before they did. Some kind of terrible aching started up in her chest in place of the crying, and she breathed out. Her chin lifted and she stared at herself in the mirror.

Get yourself together. She muttered, narrowing her eyes into a glare. Ugh, she was so gross right now. Puffy faced and desperate. A complete loser. Why did it have to be Bryan? Why couldn't she just ... It was so frustrating! Infuriating! It was so ... wrong.

Her head dropped and she breathed in, exasperated. Without giving herself time to think about it, she took the vial, popped it open and dumped it into the sink. The light pink liquid turned blood red when it made contact with the water droplets on the bottles, before disappearing down the drain. A few minutes later, some kind of glittery dust shot out in a puff and she coughed, stepping back and covering her mouth just in case.

    What the hell was that?

    ...

Well, regardless, it was gone now.

    Gone, gone, gone. Gone.
