Julius' time in the clinic was not too long and once he got out he was feeling a bit better. Fatigue was great with him and once he got a good nights rest he would be able to check out the area much more easily. Julius merely scratched the back of his head as he walked out of the clinic and groaned as he glanced around the strange area. First a fire and now a sunken ship...Julius learned that now was the time that he had to take extra care and be sure to be on guard all the time.

Ever since joining the camp he realized he had grown to be a bit soft and now was the time to change that. As he walked into the inn, Julius lazily got himself a room and headed up to the room that he was assigned to. Once there Julius collapsed on the bed and let out a groan as he removed his eye patch and held it tightly "man this is a pain in the ass" Julius muttered as he closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.

Adrian woke up groggily. He had his face on the floor and was in a fetal position. He got up and dusted himself off, and let his eyes adjust.
"Are you alright son?"
Adrian looked at what seemed to be an old man in his mid-40's, in a brown trench coat. He wore circular-rimmed glasses, and raisin-shaped eyes, and a kind smile. Adrian let out a scoff, saying, "Piss off, old man."
"Or what?"
"Or I'll make sure that the Inn manager takes your room keys and gives you the boot."
The old man readjusted his glasses. "That would be incredibly inadvisable, as well as improbable, young man. You don't want to end up like Tonitrui, do you?"

Adrian immediately tensed, ready for a fight. "I don't know who you are, you old coot," He said slowly, "But I never like the fact that I'm being threatened. If you want to settle this like real men, put 'em up and I'll show you how much I ended up like Toni, because I never signed up to become collateral damage!"
The old man laughed. "There is no need for that, young one." The old man replied, "Because right now, faces are about to change. Live to fight another day." The old man pointed a finger to one of the doors of the lobby, "Downstairs there is breakfast waiting for you and your friends. Have some of that, and explore the Inn. So many sights to see, so many secrets to reveal!"

Adrian blinked, and the old man was gone. As though he never existed. What the hell was that all about? He didn't know. Adrian dismissed the moment as nothing more than a mirage. He rubbed his eyes and went to the Lobby desk. "Is there anyway I can get a room?"
"Yes. Here you go. Enjoy your stay."
Adrian grabbed the key and shoved it in his pocket, and he went downstairs, and waited for the others.

It was early by the time Bryan woke up, and it surprised him a little; he expected to wake up at least during the late morning because of all the craziness taking the energy out of him yesterday. It was still hard to believe that the ferry tipped over! What were they supposed to do now? How were they supposed to get home?

Bryan looked across the clothes he had laid out over night to dry and picked something that wasn't still a little wet. Eventually, he settled for a ashen green shirt, khaki cargo shorts, and dark gray Converse. He left his room and trotted down the stairs to the front desk.

"Good morning," he greeted, smiling at the girl named Cane. She just looked at him and he fumbled a little under her somewhat-harsh gaze, "E - Err . . . Could you tell me Noëlle Chamber's room number?" Bryan averted his vivid green eyes from meeting hers. She didn't seem to be in such a good mood.

After getting the room number, he trekked back upstairs and walked down the appropriate hallway, only to see someone was sitting in front of the door. Bryan frowned. What the heck . . . Oh, he recognized that face, but . . . He couldn't put it with a name. Why the heck is he sitting out here? Maybe he . . . shared this room with Noëlle and she locked him out? The thought made Bryan laugh a little. It did seem like something his sister would do . . .

With a shrug and then a sigh, Bryan knocked at the door, hoping his sister was willing to see him.

James roused himself from slumber as sunlight filtered through his window and his eyes blurrily adjusted to the change in scenery. Where the hell was he? It sure wasn't home. He rolled onto his side and was about to attempt to go back to sleep but when he tried, the flood of memories temporarily blocked by going to sleep, flooded back into his now conscious mind. "F*ck." He grumbled as he pulled himself upright and began the slow and lethargic hunt for his clothes. He prayed this dump had some kind breakfast room or something, and his stomach rumbled it's agreement. His clothes were now sufficiently dry, but he still felt a bit gross since they were old now. He sighed and wished that he hadn't lost his case, but it was all replaceable, maybe this place had a cool mall or something, anything would do at this point, so long as it was clean, washed, and preferably came with a tie.

James stretched and reached for the ceiling before deciding that he might as well go down to the main room of the Inn again, there might be something important being said by one of the adults. So, food could wait, because right now, he wanted to know if they could get a phone to call the 'rents and let them know that they're alright, though a day behind schedule. He huffed as he settled into a seat to wait, this was no fun, at all. He reminded himself that he should look for Erik, and let him know that he and Emalynn were not burned to death, or trampled by escaping forest deer. And he had to track Emalynn down, his face flushed as he remembered, to thank her for attempting to save him. Who knows what would have happened if she'd simply left him in the ashes.

Stratana awoke with apprehension Would she wait for Lexi to wake up so she could end her uncomfortable hunger? Or should she just head down to breakfast to see if it was just natural and solved by food? She decided on wait. A funny feeling had developed in her last night she couldn't explain, except that only Lexi brought it on... Why was that? The question rattled Stratana to the core. At one moment, it grossed her out on a moral level, because she'd always looked down on homosexuality; at the same time though, thinking about those gross things Lesbians did that Stratana hate, even things as simple as kissing, Stratana started blushing when the image of kissing Lexi flashed into her mind! No!... er... no?.... ugh... may-...be...?

Stratana covered up with her pink, silky blanket. She felt tingly all over and wanted it to stop. What button did she have to press to make it stop!? And when that thought appeared in her head... did she want it to stop...?

Slowly, she crept back over to Lexi's bed and laid down again, right besides her and facing her, off to the edge of the bed as much as she could be. All she could do was watch Lexi as she slept and wondered what to do as she felt drowsy, accidentally closing her long lashed eyes as her pink-haired head succumbed to the power of the pillow.

Sean woke up ready to tear his room to pieces. The smell of meringue first thing in the morning molested his olfactory senses and made want to upchuck. Management would have an earful, but later, as Jenna was still fast asleep across the room. His mood was a mix of not wanting to wake her up and not wanting to miss breakfast.

It was at that same moment the spry little figure stretched out of the sheets. Sean's eyes were momentarily distracted when he found her wearing... Captain America pajamas?? 'How had those even remained dry after the ferry wreck?' Sean thought to himself. But there they were, two piece with a big circle shield across her flat chest. She yawned as she stretched and looked over to Sean with glee.

"You wouldn't believe the dream I just had! It was like I was Hansel... or is Gretel the girl and Hansel the boy...?" She trailed off momentarily. "But anyway, there was this big island where we were taken and everything was like can-" Here, she finally realized where she was. "Oh... in my dream there was a witch that tried to eat me. I don't think that actually happened last night..."

"No. That's scheduled for 3. "Jenna kills the witch by tossing her into her own oven"." Sean read out of a bedside book that the original text didn't bear any resemblance to what he said. To which Jenna giggled. "C'mon, there's breakfast downstairs. Before I fatten you up on candy and bake you in an oven." He got up and took some damp clothes out of his bag, letting everything else air dry in the room. He switched into a green t-shirt and beige jeans, keeping her bloody, soaked, and crispy socks.

Jenna, meanwhile, had decided to switch only the bottoms of her pajamas for

Sebastian awoke early to check on his patient. "Sorry to wake you, but One, you were lying on your arm and two, I thought maybe some breakfast will help you heal. Want me to get it for you?" He meant the offering; he had asked the girl to trust him enough to be in the same room with him for the whole of the night. Sebastian was polite, not naive; he knew he probably could have tried something, and wanted to, but he had more respect for the girl than that. Still, it had been hard falling asleep, with her lying so sweetly just across the room. "Natalie, just know I'm willing to do whatever you need in order to feel better." He said with a congenial smile.

S.

Slender fingers traced over the brand/tattoo that decorated her left collarbone. At the sight of it, Sophie sighed and turned away from viewing her nude body in the mirror. Some time after going to sleep, it seemed that someone had taken the liberty of cleaning her clothes for her, and so most everything was . . . dry. It only added to her dislike of the place, but at least she had clean clothes.

What were they supposed to do now, she wondered? Sophie wouldn't be able to contact anyone outside this private island because her phone was dancing in hell, and she had a feeling the natives wouldn't do much for her with communication. The situation was both a blessing and a curse; on one hand, she didn't have to go home to see her parents ( living in a big house meant she never really had to see them anyway ), on the other, she would be making her beloved worry. Beloved. Ahaha. What a joke.

Sophie's face didn't brighten up as it did when she laughed.

The too-sweet smell of pastries baking was lightening her head a little. Why did everything around here smell so damned sweet? It was like they were trying to cover up a more foul smell ( one created by foul activities ) by drenching this place in a grandmother's sweetshop/bakery perfume. Either way, it made her hungry. Before leaving her room, she dried off her black book and found ( "What a pleasant surprise." ) that she had put it in a ziplock bag; both her special pen and her book were safe from the water.

Both in hand, Sophie traversed down the stairs and into the inn's dining room, flipping open her book and beginning to write.

June 18th, 2013 A foul situation

It seems that I won't be returning home for a while, which is both a good and a bad thing. I have a feeling my beloved already began to miss me from the day I left. Let they be in wanting, that's more fun for me.

I had expected to spend my summer at Camp, but it seems that fate has different plans for me and a few other people. Two bad situations happening in a succession? If I didn't know better, I'd take a gander and say they were planned. By whom? My money might be on someone like Garth. But no, he has always been a relatively dependable man.

They were saying that a cigarette was the start of the fire. That could mean one of two things: One, the cigarette was dropped by someone on purpose, and they had meant to put it out ( or perhaps not ), but it spread instead, or Two, the cigarette was dropped by accident and the person was so stunned at what was happening that they let the fire spread out of not knowing what to do.

I'm currently leaning towards two. It seems that it really would be an accident - could anyone hate camp that much? Coming is completely voluntary, so I can't see anyone hating it. The list of people seems to go on to who it could be, but it would be good not to dwell on it.

Moving on . . . I was pleased to see that my little vial was relatively undamaged by the ferry sinking. I was almost afraid it would be lost, because I paid a good bit of money for it, and I really would like to use it. I don't know what the effects/affects of it are. A true love potion? I find that hard to believe. It might have something to do with a strong infatuation, rather than true love - but people will buy into anything, won't they?

I have a few candidates for which I would use it on. I don't particularly like anyone in the way that the potion might call for - that is not how I play the game. There is one particular boy right now, he is of a little interest to me, but is more unnerving than anything else. It's annoying. He probably doesn't know that he would be able to get to me if he tried hard enough, and I don't intend for him to find out. I play with him, not the other way around.

C'est la vie . . . I shall write again soon.

Morning brought a sense of unease which was enhanced by the thick layer of fog outside the window. Those people shouldn't have brought them all the way out here. The fact that they did raised some serious red flags and the rest of them needed to go home as soon as possible. They couldn't stay any longer than they needed to, and they didn't even need it in the first place. All the injured ones should have been rushed to the hospital and the rest of them should have gone home, not be whisked away to a different town by strangers to stay in their inn and receive medical attention for free. The Grants were too nice. Something about them was suspiciously off and Erik didn't want to sit around to find out what exactly that was. Them, coupled with what that receptionist at the clinic had mentioned about being out after curfew really twisted his stomach into knots. Why did the town need an eight o' clock curfew?

He slipped into a change of clothes in the bathroom. Only his backpack had managed to make it out of the ocean. His bag was lost. There wasn't really anything all that important in it, but he would have rather not lost it in the first place. His wallet had been in his back pocket where it safely remained until last night when he opened it up and layed out all the contents to dry. His phone was there, but too water damaged to even turn on--that wasn't good given their current whereabouts. And, the clothes in his backpack had relatively dried over night, so he was well off overall.

When he came back out of the bathroom, Maria was still asleep on the bed. Something didn't seem right with the way she acted last night after visiting the doctor. She seemed to be sleeping heavily now and there was a bottle of pain killers beside the bed that they didn't bring with them back from the clinic. Had someone been in the room besides them? Whomever slept in the other bed was already out of the room. He hadn't paid attention to whom it was last night and would have to ask around. Maria was out of her torn up bloodstained dress and in a large white cotton t-shirt and blue scrub pants instead. The nurse was probably the one to have changed her last night, but it still left him unsettled. Her curly platinum blond locks were splayed out on the bed in a tangled mess. Her hands were up on the pillow by her head and she had knocked the sheets off her upperbody while she slept. Erik walked quietly over to the bed and covered the rest of the girl up with the bedsheets that were now down by her knees, before turning to leave the room.

His feet padded lightly down the hall as he made his way to the lobby of the inn. The sweet aroma of breakfast wafted to him from the dining room, but he wasn't in the mood to eat. They needed to arrange a ride home and with the fog as thick as it was, it would probably take some time for a vehicle to get there. Given the number of them that had been brought to the inn, they would probably need a small bus to transport them all back. He moved to the front desk where Cane seemed to be working with a frown on her face. "Excuse me," he cleared his throat and she glanced up at him briefly.

"May I help you?"

"I was wondering if you had a phonebook I could borrow?" He glanced around the room. There didn't seem to be anyone in the hotel beside their group. "Along with a phone," he added. She didn't seem pleased by the request, but brought him both requested items. "Thanks," he told her with a smile before taking a seat in one of the nearby chairs. Erik flipped through the yellow paged directory until he reached the business section. His thumb stopped on the T's and he ran his finger down until he reached Transportation. There was nothing here in town, which oddly didn't surprise him. With his credit card he could probably arrange for a bus from Candlewood to drive out here and then bring them back, but that area wasn't listed in the phonebook. How far away were they? He had thought only an an hour or so, what with the Candlewood being so large in size, but now he was starting to feel like they were much farther. His stomach fluttered with nerves and he ran his hand through his thick brown hair in frustration. No dice. He stood up from the chair and brought the phone and phonebook back to the front desk. "Where's your television? There wasn't one in the room and I wanted to check the ne--"

"We don't have tvs here," interrupted Cane.

No tvs? He was afraid she might actually hear the shouting that was so loud in his head. Things were far too sketchy for his liking.

Tucker woke sluggishly, hardly opening his eyes as he shifted his arm from over his head to his side lazily. Sunlight only barely seeping in through the windows and thick air had awoken his deep slumber. He coughed and sneezed. He probably caught a cold from yesterday. He felt a little sick. He was one of the last people fetched from the ocean, wanting to stay behind and make sure everyone was alright. It took a lot of energy from his body, but no one seemed to be left behind when he got into the boat with Patrick - except for his belongings, which had all been washed away into the ocean.

He pushed himself up from his bed, the covers sliding off of his bare shoulder and grazing the scarred skin over his chest and abdomen. He sighed looking down at his body, he didn't even remember the last time he wore just boxers to sleep - which if he wasn't as tired as he was the night before, he knew he probably wouldn't have slept because it was too uncomfortable for him. However, since he had lost all of his belongings, he really had no choice. He had to let his clothes dry by his window then wear it in the morning. The half-naked male got up on his feet, wincing slightly - his legs ached and his ankles were still hurting. It would have healed if the whole ferry-accident hadn't happened. The 21-year old walked awkwardly to the window and pulled his shirt from it. He rubbed the fabric between his fingers. It was still a little damp, with no help at all since it seemed to be rather foggy outside. Having showered last night already, he simply pulled the shirt over his head and shivered as the cold material made contact with his skin. The white bits of his striped shirt still appeared a little transparent on his skin, subtly showing his scars. He fanned it out, trying to get his shirt to not stick to his skin. He then wore his shorts and slipped his feet into his shoes - something he did happen to save throughout the ordeal.

He grabbed a box of tissue from the side table by his bed, blew his nose, threw it into the trash bin then walked out of his room, which he requested to be close to the bathroom, so he could make the quickest escape from the showers, and for him to be alone. He closed the door behind him then locked it before he dropped the key into his pocket. It would probably be a good idea to check on everyone else around - since after being dropped off into the inn, he just made a quick getaway to avoid the clinic completely - even though he probably needed it.

His chestnut eyes glanced around the room, wondering if other people were alright. He thought about his troopers: Pierce, Quentin and Stratana. He still felt responsible for them. He began walking through the hall, to go downstairs and greet people a good day. He looked at his own feet as he walked, trying to size himself up for a smile to greet everyone with. He let his lips curl into a smile even though there wasn't really anything to smile about - and just then, as his eyes looked back up to where he was heading, he stopped and saw a familiar brunette teen, standing by a door, with a rather worried expression. It was Bryan, which made Tucker's eyebrows furrow, he felt really bad as he looked at him. This was his first camp as a counselor and this is what it turned out to be. He blinked at the other male for a moment before inhaling then walking up to the boy in a dorky and chipper manner. Waving he said, "Hey kiddo! Merry morning!" which was completely ironic and awkward to say now that he realized it. He quickly averted his eyes for a moment as he licked his lips nervously, afraid what he said was completely inappropriate. Then went back to him, crossing his arms over his chest tightly "... Well, kind of, but um. Hey. Uh, Are you okay?"

THERE'S a STIRRING INSIDE of ME.

Pierce woke up feeling groggy. Her head hurt and she reached up to touch it, but hesitated at the feeling of terry fabric sliding down her body. What--oh! Her face flushed red at the rememberance of what she did last night. Thin fingers clutched the towel tightly to her body and she checked to make sure there was no one in the room before climbing out of the bed. It felt good to be dry and clean--if only she had her hairbrush so that her hair would be manageable. Pierce crept her way into the bathroom and locked the door behind her.

She ran her fingers over the clothes she had on yesterday and assessed that they were now dry enough to wear. Letting them hang up over night really did the trick. The only thing still damp was her thick sweater and hopefully it would be warm enough to go without it. She let the towel fall into a pile at her ankles and kicked it aside before slipping back into her original clothes. Her fingers combed through her matted hair the best they could and she finally had to give up, just pulling it back into a bun. It wouldn't be too bothersome so long as they went home today. They were going home today, weren't they? She nibbled nervously on her bottom lip at the prospects of not leaving. The Grants had been nice, but something left her feeling uncertain about the whole ordeal.

Pierce picked up the towel from the floor when she was finished and hung it on the back of the bathroom door with the other one. She didn't want to leave a huge mess for the housekeeper, since she was not one to trouble others. Her sweater continued to hang from the shower curtain rod and she unlocked the bathroom door, stepping back into the guest bedroom. She had left her shoes on top of the heater and those seemed to be relatively dry now as well. Pierce grinned in satisfaction before leaving the room with the keycard in her back pocket.

The whole inn smelled delicious. The sweet aroma of food cooking carried her all the way down to the dining room. Sophie seemed to already be present and her stomach did a little backflip. She wished there was no one else in there. The girl seemed to be preoccupied with writing something and Pierce did her best not to bother her. She sat down at the long table, a few seats away on the opposite side, and began to scoop up a plate with foods. There was so much to choose from. They didn't prepare all that for them, did they? Guilt plagued her thoughts as the plate clinked softly against the table when she set it down in front of herself.

After a couple minutes, Sophie seemed to finish working on whatever she was writing and Pierce's brown-eyed gaze drifted over to the other girl. She always made her feel self-conscious, not like it required much work. Ah-uhm... she cleared her throat awkwardly and took a bite of cheesy scrambled eggs. G-good morning... Sophie... Her eyes darted back to the plate in front of her and she picked at the sausage link with her fork.

Lexi woke up and stretched. She looked over to Stratana. "Hi. You sleep well?"

Lexi payed no mind to last night's events, moving on completely. Stratana had been weirded out enough, and Lexi couldn't afford to lose her friend.

Natalie yawned and rubbed her eyes. "Huh? Oh, yeah. It still hurts a bit, but I'm sure I'll be okay. Thanks though Sebastain." She smiled.

Elisa woke with a grumbling feeling in her stomach. She made a small wimper as she clutched the skin of her flat stomach. She should probably go eat, even if she didn't want to, but she knew her limits well. She sat up from her bed, pulling the covers completely off of her, revealing the pale, almost porcelain skin of her bony body that was covered only by the undergarments that she wore to sleep. Her bare feet touched the cold, wooden floor under her while her aqua eyes looked down at the mess spread out across the room.

The teenager was able to hold onto her green military bag, which contained some of her necessities like a one extra set of clothes (which she always had since she liked to be prepared), her sunglasses, her pills which were mostly ruined except for the few that were safely tucked into respective zip locks, her phone and iPod which showed no signs of life whatsoever, a doodle notebook which was still drowning in dampness, some of her accessories that had paint peeling off of it and her cupid's brew potion - which strangely seemed to be alright. She kneeled down between the two sets of clothes, both were still damp so she decided to leave one to dry and wear the other - which was the same outfit from the night before - just because she liked it more than the other outfit.

Once she was dressed, she gather her hair back into a high pony tail. Locks of her wavy hair traced down to her shoulders. She left all her stuff sprawled on the floor, still wanting it to dry up and left her room, locking it before she started down the hallway. She passed a couple familiar faces, including her counselor and Tucker who joined them from the hospital the day before, but they seemed busy in conversation so she just stayed silent. She made her way down the steps, smiling at people who passed her.

She sat down on one of the chairs of the long wooden table, looking at all the food served in front of her. They were all home cooked breakfast food. in front of her was a plate and silverware, with an empty glass. It felt just like home. She started by filling her glass with orange juice. Sipping from it, she looked around only to realize she wasn't alone. There was a girl nearby who was scribbling down on something with another girl, looking rather familiar, by her side and another boy. They seemed busy too, so she stayed silent again. It seemed like a very silent morning for her.

Quentin was awoken by a sharp noise. He flinched awake and noticed someone standing beside him. He yawned and rubbed his eyes in confusion. What are they doing in my room? He looked up at them to find out who they were. It was the counselor who had hugged Noëlle after the fire. Then he saw the door. Oh.

"Hi, um, . . . ?" Quentin worked out that the sound was the knocking. Who are you? More importantly, who are you to her? He was too tired to talk much, but as he stared at the young man the events of the previous night came back to him. Oh no, my things! He was especially upset about his sketches. He took a deep breath and forced himself to forget it.

I can't believe I fell asleep. At least I stood guard for her. He concluded that the soreness in his frame was worth it. His clothes were still wet, but he didn't fret over it much. He was sure that they had dryers here. He got up as he waited for the counselor's response.

He'd been standing around for a few minutes, wondering if the kid next sitting on the ground would wake up first, or if Noëlle would answer first.

The kid first, then. Bryan sighed, wondering if his sister knew it was him at the door or not. "Hi, um, . . . ?" With a smile, Bryan lent his hand out for the kid to take it and stand up, but he got up on his own.

"Hey there," he said cheerfully, "Name's Bryan, was just here checking on her." explained, "What's your name, again . . . ?" he asked curiously, remembering that he didn't know it.

"Quentin. Why did you want to check up on her?" His suspicion was obvious, but Bryan didn't even notice it.

"I was just . . ." Hmm. "Well, I don't think she wants to see me, but I just want to make sure she's okay! Looking out for each other, she and I." Bryan replied genuinely.

Quentin studied his face, then nodded. "Alright. I should be going, then. Tell her I said hi, will you?" The boy turned around and walked off, Bryan frowning in his stead. The kid's clothing looked wet -- he hoped he didn't get sick!

"Hey kiddo! Merry morning!" Bryan peered over his shoulder to see Tucker walking up behind him.

"Tucker, good morning!" he greeted with a smile, "It's good to see you're alright . . ." He patted the other on the shoulder.

". . . Well, kind of, but um. Hey. Uh, Are you okay?" Tucker asked, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Mmhm, still good and kickin' . . . 'Cept for this pesky bruise and cut I have on my noggin . . ." He pointed to the bandage that was still wrapped around his forehead, "Got it trying to . . . to get out of the boat, yesterday . . . How 'bout you? Any serious injuries or something?"

Erik walked around the inn in frustration. He was the second oldest person in their group and he was feeling completely useless. He needed to get his kids back to where they rightfully belonged--which was not here. His foot kicked the baseboard on one of the walls when no one was looking. He needed to vent out his frustration somehow and the wall was currently the only thing nearby. He sighed. If only the fog would clear up he could probably go talk to someone in town, at least get the scoop on the Grants from the locals. That would ease his conscience remotely if he knew what kind of people they were. He hated making assumptions, but his gut was screaming that it was time to go.

He rounded a corner and found James sitting in one of the chairs against the wall. Erik waved at him before approaching the kid and taking a seat beside him. "Hey James. I'm glad to see you're okay. How you feelin'?" He gave him a quick once over, assessing that his outward appearance seemed to be unharmed, but that didn't mean there wasn't something hiding underneath. He felt horrible about not being able to get all of his campers out of the forest in time. The fact that two of them were sent to the hospital ate away at him. Guilt was etched in his face as he clasped the boy on the shoulder. "The ferry didn't mess you up too bad did it? I can't imagine that it was easy for you." He was trying to be nice. The kid was big and trying to fight the ocean currents along with the suction of a large boat sinking would have been hell for someone his size to battle.

Sophie continued to write in her journal until she heard footsteps joining the area. She finished the entry, "C'est la vie . . . I shall write again soon." and looked up to see who it was while adjusting herself to sit properly in her chair. As a pleasant surprise to herself, Sophie saw that it was Pierce. She had come to think of it, she and Pierce hadn't talked at all since camp started, since they didn't exactly run in the same line of people. Or with people at all.

The other girl shyly cleared her throat as Sophie sat down with a plate of food and the latter smiled. "G - Good morning . . . Sophie . . ."

Very shy, aren't you? Sophie thought to herself with a hint of a smile. "Good morning, Pierce." she replied, and was going to continue when she spotted another person joining them. Elisa. While still looking at Pierce, she paid attention to what Elisa was getting to eat and found amusement in when it was only a glass of orange juice.

"I like your outfit and hair," she said to Pierce, taking a bite of her jelly and butter toast, "It looks pretty." A smile filled her face, waiting for the response of all directions. "How are you?"

Good morning, Pierce. replied Sophie with a smile.

With the sound of footsteps, they were joined by another girl, one she didn't recognize. She must have been new. How awful. Pierce shook her head and plopped a bite of sausage in her mouth. She chewed slowly and then washed it down with a bit of milk. The breakfast table was set up rather beautifully. They must have put a lot of effort into the inn's appearance.

I like your outfit and hair, Sophie commented as she ate, It looks pretty.

Her face warmed and she could feel herself blushing. Oh, um... Thanks. I was wearing it y-yesterday. I kinda um... lost my bag... and I didn't have my brush so I just... ah, tossed it up. Pierce dropped her gaze briefly, then quickly added, Y-you look nice too. She tried not to think about the locket, but the sadness she felt for its decent into the vast depths of the ocean left a hole in her chest.

How are you?

Pierce risked a glance at Sophie, hoping that her red face wasn't too noticeable. B-better than yesterday, I guess. She took another bite of scrambled eggs before speaking again. And you? It felt so strange having such a normal conversation. Dim light filtered through the room from the window to her right. The curtains were drawn, but the world outside was still gray and foggy. Would it be like that all day? She hoped not. I sure hope the weather clears up, she muttered to no one in particular. I wanna go home.

It brought her a little satisfaction that there had been some small reaction to her comment. "Oh, um . . . Thanks. I was wearing it y - yesterday. I kinda, um . . . lost my back . . . and I didn't have my brush so I just . . . ah, tossed it up. Y - You look nice, too."

"B - Better than yesterday, I guess." she continued with a bit of a break in her speech, "And you?"

Sophie smiled at this, "I'm alive, and that's the most I could ask for." She prodded her chin with the fork, looking thoughtful, "I wonder how many people lost their special belongings between the sinking and the fire." She was verily hinting at Cupid's Brew, but she didn't expect anyone to pick up on it. "And . . . I have some feeling that we might not be leaving this island soon. It was convenient that the couple found us when they did."

She wondered who else was up and about in the inn.

"So Pierce . . ." she began again, not willing to let the conversation die just yet, "What sort of instrument do you play?"

Sophie smiled, I'm alive, and that's the most I could ask for. That's true. No matter what happened, at least they had managed to stay alive. I wonder how many people lost their special belongings between the sinking and the fire. Pierce's expression fell. She lost a lot of important items. Her mother would remind her that they're just things, but it still felt like something had been ripped from inside her. And . . . I have some feeling that we might not be leaving this island soon. It was convenient that the couple found us when they did.

Pierce mashed her lips together and her forehead crinkled. Yeah. That's what I thought too. She let the conversation linger at that. So she wasn't the only one that felt that there was something off. That was a relief. There was a moment silence in which she used to finish eating what was on her plate. It felt good to be full. She hadn't really eaten much of anything at all yesterday.

So Pierce . . . Sophie began again, What sort of instrument do you play?

She lifted her head up and gave Sophie a halfhearted smile. The other girl was actually trying to have a conversation with her and Pierce felt proud with how well she was doing at the moment. Piano and the flute, but primarily piano. Her expression darkened as realization dawned on her. Oh... I guess I lost my flute yesterday... her voice trailed off as the memory of being forced to drop her bag or drown flooded her mind. She shook it off and forced a smile back on her face as she met Sophie brown eyes to blue. What about you?

She woke up with Lexi's words in a jumped start. She sprang forward on the bed, and stared with grief into Lexi's eyes. She'd been caught. On pure instinct, she wanted to do it, she wanted to do it! She lunged forward with her eyes closed and kissed Lexi directly on the lips. The sensation that followed shocked her lips and filled up her throat with a solid lump of an emotion she'd never felt that oddly felt pleasurable. The spur of the moment action on her part did not result in retraction by her. Instead, she turned her head and mewed in ecstasy as she relaxed her whole body, melting like butter.

Sebastian fluffed up one of the pillows to set under Natalie's damaged arm. "Good to know. I'll be heading down to breakfast soon so I'll set you up a plate." He felt a joke from fandom might help her mood. "I'll check to see if they have any fish sticks with custard. Sound good?" He patted the pillow one more time before he left.

In no time at all, he was back up in the room with two plates of breakfast food; one for him, and one for her. He set both platters down on a moveable table, placing the glossy table between Natalie on the bed and an ornamented Cookie chair across from her. It was kind of like the last time they were talking; hopefully the inn doesn't flip over, I want to see if this girl's really as interested as she seemed.

The received smile at Sophie's effort did little for her spirits and she wondered if the other girl might be mocking her. Were that true, Sophie gave her more credit than she originally thought she would -- but Sophie doubted it.

"Piano and the flute, but primarily piano." Sophie watched Pierce's face darken as she seemed to realize something, "Oh . . . I guess I lost my flute yesterday."

. . . Oh, shit. Her cello. Her violin . . . A smooth expression remained on her face as a storm began to spread in her mind. Well, at least she had her personal instruments at home, and they were safe. "Aha . . . I suppose I lost my instruments too. Terrible business." She sounded calm, but was actually pretty pissed about the situation. "The cello, violin, and I also sing." she replied, "I can play a variety of instruments actually, but the cello is my forté."

Sophie sat down her fork and leaned back in her chair, fixing the black collar of her sleeveless shirt. After being so tired yesterday, it wasn't a wonder that she'd forgotten about her instruments, but it was still angering nonetheless. If someone really had sunk the ferry, she wanted to snap their neck.

"Do you sing, Pierce?" she then asked, trying to keep her mind from overflowing with anger.
