Richie must've passed out, because the last thing he remembered was him being brought onto a boat. He remembered the pungent smell of blood and sea water as he was freed from his watery prison. His arms felt numb, so he could barely feel the person shaking him fiercely. It wasn't anyone he recognized. With the help of the kind woman, Richie exited the car and began looking around. He was in front of... an inn? He could barely read the pink sign above the building with his blurry vision. He felt groggy, like he was actually there. He heard an older gentleman instruct those who were injured to head to the clinic, and for the others to enter the inn. Quickly searching himself, Richie found no serious traumas other than the fact he felt he could collapse any minute. His wobbly legs, which also felt pretty numb, had a hard time keeping his body standing. However, he deemed himself secure enough to
make it through the night without medical attention.

He leaned on the woman, who was dressed like a nurse, and she led him inside the inn. From what he gathered, the clinic sent a few nurses out to help with the disoriented and/or incapacitated. However, not many people were here in the first place so there was an abundance of nurses. Another came and held up the other side of Richie as the trio reached the front desk of the inn.

"Hi, how can I help you?" asked the receptionist sweetly. Wasn't it obvious...?

Richie sighed and groaned slightly, replying, "Hi... uh, my name's Richie and I'd like a room please. There was a ferry accident and there are those here who need rooms too."

The receptionist nodded. "Of course, right this way please." She grabbed a key as one of the nurses let go of Richie and began writing on a piece of paper on the desk. It must have been the sign-in sheet, he assumed. As the duo followed the receptionist, the nurse kept pestering him with questions. He answered them to the best of his ability, but his knowledge of the whole situation was minimal. Once they reached his room, the receptionist unlocked the door and handed him the key. The nurse asked if he would be fine, to which he replied, "I will be, thanks." He smiled at her and made his way into the room, pressing his arm against the wall to keep his balance. He collapsed onto the bed, his face looking up at the ceiling. He really needed someone to talk to.

Someone to talk to... what about Elisa? Was she okay?! The boy didn't see her when he stepped out of the car. His heart skipped a beat at the thought of his friend not making it. He gulped as his chest suddenly felt heavier. His breaths became shallower. His chest pounding faster. "Please... please be okay..." he whispered to himself as he drifted off to sleep.

Aislin changed her mind and left. She went across the street to the inn and did what she was told to do and got herself into a room where she passed out as quick as she good with her arm still in incredible pain. Perhaps tomorrow she would get it checked out.

Emalynn was glad that they were out of the water and back on land. Yet now that she was technically 'safe,' she sure didn't feel it. The entire inn had a certain atmosphere to it. Emalynn had a giddy feeling about all of this. The whole place reminded her of a gingerbread house. It even smelled sweet too. But perhaps it was just a reaction to the shock she had faced over the past two days.

    I still have a bad feeling about this . . .

Emalynn walked towards the front desk of the inn. There, the innkeeper had just handed a key over a boy from camp. She waited her turn and then walked up to the desk. "May I also get a key to a room? Patrick sent me," Emalynn asked softly and politely. Really, she did not want to stay at the inn, but where else would she go. She didn't even know where exactly she was at the moment.

She walked to her room and opened the door. Once inside she sighed and then sat on her bed, looking around her. When she finished examining, so laid down on the it and closed her eyes. After all of that, she was tired. Who wouldn't be?

This sucked. He rubbed his arms up and down and tried not to think about how angry he was. His case was lost among the other cargo from their boat disaster and all he had was a wet wallet, cell phone and lastly his bottle of brew. He placated himself when he spotted Emalynn amongst their "Group 1" and was glad so many people survived. He disliked humans, but this situation would be awful if he were alone. He was glad everything that had happen, happened so close to him, he had lost his glass and without a way to contact his parents, he hax tried his phone and got nothing, he was stuck without them. Which was annoying, not having glasses but he wasn't totally blind without them, and the sky still provided enough light for anyone to be able to see.

He felt tired, and he was grateful that they had an entire in to stay inside for the night. He didn't want to sleep in this nice couples house with like, twelve others. That thought bugged him so he switched his thoughts onto getting warm and into bed. This town was pretty small, what with a clinic right next to an in, which as also right next to some else that would equally be miles apart if this was a big city. Thinking of the big city made him miss home, or at least Fortissimo, James cleared his throat and hustled his way into the Inn, letting the owner know that he was sent in by word of Patrick. The keeper seemed to know what he was spouting and it seems that a few other survivors had already entered before him, so following there lead he found himself a room and immediately began to look for things to clean himself with.

His shower was lovely and soul warming, the thought of using clean water to wash off salty water made him chuckle. He changed back into his day old underwear and hung his other clothes near a window. But not before making sure his brew bottle was safely tucked under his pillow as he settled in for a hopefully dreamless sleep.

Lexi held Stratana's hand. "It's okay, I got you. You can overcome it, you're better than you think, okay?" She smiled at her friend. "I'll be here every step of the way for you."

Meanwhile, Natalie held onto Sebastian's Arm. She had been shaken up by everything. Her arm probably needed to be looked at, but she didn't care. She didnt want Lexi or Sebastian to die while she was there. Heck, even the girl that was with Lexi. Natalie didnt know her, but she deserved a chance too.

Lexi approached the lady at the front desk. "Patrick said to see you for a room key. May my friend and I have one?" She asked politely. The lady gave her one. "Thank you." Lexi said. "Come on Stratana." She looked back at Natalie, with a look that said "are you coming?", but the young girl shook her head.

Lexi just led Stratana to the room and opened the door. "Well, here we are."

I think I am growing to hate doctors offices. Two days in a row I am in one, one for burns and now for an accident relating to water. Just suck me up in a tornado already...Never-mind I don't want that to be taken as a challenge.

She had never felt so awkward in her life. This was terrible, and way, way out of her element. Was she supposed to laugh, or reply with something like 'I hear ya, sister'? No one could blame her for not wanting to talk, right? So she didn't. Instead, she clutched her bag to into her stomach and shivered. Her clothes would be wet, but those could be dried. It was her phone -- and her journal that she was worried about. It was one of many, but it was special. All of them were special, and it was likely ruined. Ruined, ruined, ruined.

Her eyes pricked with tears and she wiped them away with her good arm, sniffling and resting her chin on the top of the black bag.

A few silent moments later, a short man with a doctor's coat stepped through the door. He had a white mask over his nose and lips, but had gentle, forest green eyes.

    Ms. Chambers?

He gazed between the two girls and Noëlle stood. His eyes creased, so he must have been smiled, as he pulled the door back and invited her inside.

The floor was made of salmon pink tile, and the walls were the same shade of blue from the chairs in the waiting area. The smell of cinnamon and frosting wafted through the alcohol tinged air and melted her senses. She was so hungry...

They walked into a doctor's office with a red and white stripped '1' on the door. Immediately, the doctor pointed to a rather standard patients bed, and sat on a stool in front of her as she sat down upon it.

Ms. Chambers, welcome to Bentley Grove. I am terrible sorry to hear about your accident. Where does it hurt?

With utmost confidence, his eyes drilled into her's. It made her uncomfortable, but she smiled.

... I think I've dislocated my shoulder. The rest of me is just a bit sore, though my head hurts a bit.

As she spoke, he began to take notes on a white pad of paper. He nodded respectfully, and then stood.

I'm going to take a look now, is that alright?

Mhm ... She replied, distantly, staring up at a weight chart plastered to the wall. Suddenly, gloved fingers were peeling away the leather jacket she wore, revealing both shoulders. Her eyes went wide and her head snapped back to bring the doctor into view.

Where are you from? We do not get visitors here very often ... His deep voice dripped from his lips, and she could feel his breath on her neck. He applied a bit of pressure to her shoulder, and then leaned in with a thoughtful grunt. The coat he wore parted over her sock-covered knees. You outsiders are often very beautiful ... Such lovely eyes, and hair ...

    I'm uncomfortable, please stop.

    Candlewood. Thanks.

Her tone was sharp like a blade and he chuckled.

Without a warning other than that, he grabbed her arm and forced it back into it's socket. Screaming out more out of shock than pain, Noëlle dropped her luggage and jolted back. Her eyes were wild, and her breathing unsteady.

Better? His voice was cool, as though nothing out of the ordinary had happened.

I ... You ... ! Clearly in shock, she could do nothing but stare and catch her breath. The doctor stood, and crossed back through the room to get his notepad, scribbling something she couldn't see on it. Her shoulder's stinging faded, but her mood was no better.

I will write you a prescription for pain killers. Go out, to the left, and you will find our pharmacy. He wasn't even halfway through his sentence and Noëlle had already slid off of the bed and grabbed her things. He held out a slip of paper to her and she snatched it, admittedly rudely, though he didn't seem phased by it. Instead he waved to her as she walked out of the door. Enjoy your stay.

Her pace was frantic and her mind a complete wreck. In a bit of a rage, she stormed down the halls in search of the pharmacy. It was in the opposite direction of the waiting room, which worried her. She passed a few nurses and closed rooms on her way down, (she also passed a closed bakery -- which she didn't understand) but eventually stumbled upon a pharmaceutical stand.

After exchanging her slip for a bottle of Proenzen she was storming back down the halls, and bursting out into the waiting room.

The nurse from before waved good bye, but Noëlle ignored her and fled the clinic as quickly as possible.

The streets were dark, save for a few tall glowing lanterns, but she didn't care. A few students and counselors were still standing around, but she didn't care. Instead, she entered the inn and searched for Cane.

Cane was a much ... younger innkeeper than Noëlle had imagined. Her eyes were a vibrant green and her lips were twisted into what seemed to be a perpetual frown. When Noëlle approached her, she was immediately sized up.

.... So, Patrick sent you too, huh? You're not the kind of outsider I like to see. Just once -- just once -- I wish someone INTERESTING would come to Bentley. The girl -- or woman's chin turned upwards and she rolled her eyes, resuming her 'scolding' with a thick, unfamiliar, accent that sounded a bit like Scottish, Russian and British thrown into a blender.Come into my Inn, beggin' for a free room because 'Patrick sent ya', whatever.

As she complained, she bent over and grabbed a room key, tossing it to Noëlle. The pink-haired girl didn't waste any time running upstairs to the second floor, where the rooms were, and finding her way to room 4. The key was jammed inside of the lock and turned, and the door swung open with a force she hadn't meant to use.

When she entered, she instantly felt sick at the smell of peppermint and coffee. Besides the smell, it was relatively normal. Rose-colored walls, a white carpet ... One bed, with a rounded frame, a matching nightstand, and a small wardrobe, and a circular window. There was a bathroom, too. The only thing was was inconvenient was the candles that lit the room. It made no sense, there was electricity, so why? It also made the room uncomfortably stuffy.

Instead of looking for Bryan, like she half wanted to, she dropped her bag and locked her door. Then, she blew out the candle and crawled into bed. A flood of tears were finally released into the graham cracker scented pillow, and her body curled and trembled violently.

It wasn't long until she drifted off into a deep, deep sleep.

Try and hold onto this. Had it not been for Aislin and the life preserver, Maria would have drown--twice. Never again would she set foot on or in another body of water. Her arms and legs burned, while the rest of her was freezing. Her teeth chattered as the cold settled into her very bones. It was too much. Even with the life preserver to keep her head above water, she could barely feel her own hands. The adrenaline that had been coursing through her veins kept her from feeling the extent of the damage that the broken window caused. She knew she cut herself, but couldn't tell how bad.

It wasn't until the boat showed up that she learned the extent of the damage that the broken glass did to her body. They lifted her up out of the water and there was an immediate pain that shot through her left side. Blood soaked parts of her dress a large tear was visible. It felt like her whole body was being ripped in half. She screamed and nearly passed out on the boat from the pain. The woman gave her a towel which helped with the shivers, but it didn't take long for it to be a dark red like everything else that touched her. She was wet and bloody, dripping the mixture everywhere. Fear for the speedboat to tip over bubbled up inside her. There were too many people! Noëlle was by her, but even a familiar face wasn't enough to help comfort her. Maria moaned in agony and trembled from the combination of cold and pain.

The car ride wasn't much better. Just moving out of the boat caused terrible shrieks of pain to escape her. The whole ride she was biting down on her lip to suppress the urge to scream in these strangers' car. By the time they pulled up at the inn, her lip was bloody and bruised. The towels didn't help keep the seat from getting soaked with water or blood either. Hopefully they wouldn't be too mad about that, but they seemed like nice people. It was awfully generous of them to do so much for them.

Her head was swimming. They stood around in a gathered group outside of the car when the man named Patrick turned his attention on them all. Alright, kids. Those of you who aren't injured can stay here for the night. Tell the innkeeper -- Cane -- that Patrick sent you. If you need medical attention, head on across the street to the clinic. Mrs. Grant and I are going to go send help to the rest of your friends, just in case! Weren't they already helping the others? She couldn't focus. Maria reached up to touch her head, but a jolt of pain shot down her side and she immediately dropped her hand to her side. Her knees quaked and she thought she might collapse right then and there. She needed to go to that clinic Patrick mentioned.

Carefully, she turned and saw that it was right there. How odd for a clinic to be so close to an inn. Maria wished she could think more about it, but was too consumed in pain for much to bother her. She followed after Noëlle. Each step taken was more painful than the last, but somehow she managed to walk her way there. The doors opened automatically and inside the clinic was empty. Maria took a pain induced seat in one of the chairs as Noëlle walked over to the reception desk and rang a bell. After a minute a woman came out to meet them. Hello, how can I help you?

Yes! Um...My name is Noëlle Chambers. Some friends and I just got here ...Patrick brought us? Our ferry was in an accident and some of us are a little ... scratched up, haha. Noëlle told her.

I'm so sorry to hear that! That explains why you're out past curfew. Not to worry, sweetheart, just sign your name here on the sign-in sheet and we'll get you all taken care of. Past curfew? What did that mean? Her eyes drifted to the clock on the wall. It was barely after eight. How could they be out after curfew when it was still so early?

Her thoughts were interrupted with another bout of severe pain cutting off her concentration. Maria screamed in the waiting room, clutching her side. The blood that had slowed to a trickle earlier was now flowing down her hands steadily. She would need stitches, and a lot of them. I need... augh! Make it stop! Her eyes shut tight as she slumped back in the chair, fighting the pain. Go first? she asked through clenched teeth. Noëlle was the one that spoke to the woman, but she seemed relatively better off. Augh! she groaned. Her face was turning white and the bottom of her hair was sticky with blood. Maria felt woozy and tunnel vision was beginning to settle in as the things around her grew blurry. She heard some shouting before passing out and falling over in the chair. Were they helping? Was she getting stitched up? Was she dying? Am I dying? Her throat burned as she threw salt water before completely losing consciousness. Did I make it?

He really wished he could stay behind, he really wished he could offer up his spot on the boat to somebody more deserving, but his body just refused to do so. He hated it with a passion, he hated that his dead-weight body was aboard the vessel and taken to safety. He hated watching the others die, he hated that he could not do a single thing to help them at all. His body was dazed, and though he tried his best to save others people still drowned and once again he failed to save a life.

He continued to sit there a bit dazed, watching the sky as the boat moved on along its trek to land. His body had some burns but they were nothing compared to the feelings of his lungs. Every single time he took a breath it merely hurt so badly and he just endured it without a word. He refused to make a scene, he refused to show even more weakness. They were in a tragedy and Julius did not wish to make the moment any more worse. As the adult he wished to be the adult...and not be the burden.

Once out of the boat they soon moved out into a car and though Julius had this very nagging feeling in his mind telling him something was wrong he decided to let it be for now and try his best as they rode in the car. The car drive was a long one but eventually they reached their destination and Julius immediately stepped out of the car. Though still dazed, Julius at least heard the instructions about the clinic and calmly headed over there. Unintentionally, Julius opened the doors to the clinic with a big back and stared over at the nurse "um..yeah I think I'm having....a heart attack...no...wait nothing.... severe like that...ah! right...I'm having trouble breathing" Julius said looking down at his chest as he noticed his hand was holding his chest. "Goddamn...it when... did my hand get there?" Julius said finally noticing that he had been holding his chest the whole time before he closed his eye "goddamn it" Julius said before he collapsed on a nearby chair.

    .

The sudden water all over her after the dive had been unpleasant, unplanned, and a little nerve wracking. Sophie had never had a fondness of boats, but it was sure a convenient thing that she had an affinity for swimming.

It was a pleasant surprise that Quentin was able to swim as well, like the rest who were dipped in the too-cold water. How that the boat . . . flipped, anyway? Something like that wasn't just a spontaneous happening -- there was no way it could have been just an accident. In fact, Sophie didn't think she could have planned anything better herself.

Sophie scanned around to see who had and had not made it. Some of them were probably dead. What a surreal thought . . . She wasn't scared of death, maybe some of dying, but the concept of someone actually being dead was just . . . that. A concept. No one really died in Sophie's book. They all just moved on to a different plane of reality, maybe. Swimming around, Sophie found some of her luggage floating about and sighed, wondering if her blacklist had made it okay.

A strange squawking sound caught her attention, and things sort of just passed with the wind rippling over the water. When Sophie was next paying attention She was laying on the deck of the somewhat-cramped boat, relishing the feel of the warm sun drying her sopped body and clothing.

The refuge they had come to was really . . . something. Fairly nice, Sophie had to admit, and the help was much appreciated. When they got into the car, Sophie stopped paying attention again. After some long time of not paying attention, they arrived at a welcoming-looking inn that she smiled at, despite being a little cold still. Some of the others went to the clinic, but Sophie felt . . . relatively okay. Her only aftermath injury would probably be some bruises and her shoulders would be really sore from hanging on to that railing . . .

The woman, Cane, was . . . okay. After the girl grumbled about something, they were given room keys. Truth be told, Sophie didn't trust any of these people -- for all she knew, they were psychopaths. And it hadn't escaped her notice that there weren't many others around besides the group that had come. Everything around her screamed red alert, but she moved on and settled in the room she was given.

Everything about the room screamed some sort of 'DANGER, BE WARY!' but she settled her things down and stripped, then wrapping a towel around her frame and falling on the bed, taking a breather. Some time later, she probably drifted off.

Sean got up and began to carouse towards the desk. Asking for a room from the youthful innkeeper, he started to head towards his room when Jenna stopped him.

"You're not going alone with that nasty cut!" Jenna indicated to the scrape on the right side of his head. "I'm going to look after you; I went into the clinic and... I didn't trust it. I don't trust here either; which is why you have to make good on that hero promise!" Jenna was two-for-two in demands, her stern gaze melting Sean like butter.

"Fine!" Sean knew Jenna was crazy, but he'd put up with it for now. Once they were up in the room, which had been, to Sean's grief, centered around Lemon Meringue pie, the pair of them settled into opposite beds, and Sean found sleep despite his bumps and bruises. He hadn't changed in a whole day now... tomorrow would have to be a shower morning.
    *SEAN IS ASLEEP!*

Stratana followed her friend in suit, all the way up to the room they'd received. 'Oh my God!' Pink taffy decor littered the room everywhere from the bedsheets to the curtains to the wallpaper. "Ugh! All this candy!" Stratana's stomach gurgled again. But it was settled when she realized her current source of strength. Lexi had saved her life recently, along with making her feel less insecure; maybe she could complain a little less and thank someone for a change? "Ummm... Lexi..." She rubbed her arm, but upon realizing how much she could dig into her arms with her fingers, she put her hands to her side. "I just wanted to say 'Thank you', for earlier... when you saved my life. Besides that... you've been really kind, and I haven't had to pay you or anything; which is odd because no one really seems to like me here. If you want, we can st in my bed and paint our nails, or talk. You know, real friend stuff... that I don't usually get." Stratana was really opening up. Not just to Lexi, but to herself. It was that empty spot in her that she was feeding before, and now she didn't really feel the need to fill it anymore with munchables.

Sebastian was concerned about Natalie's arm. "You shouldn't bunk alone with that arm like that. I'm getting my room now; if you don't want to visit the clinic or don't want to sleep alone in a room, then I'm sure I can take a chair or something if there's one bed. You've had quite a day, and I think you could use some fandom talk to help you feel better, huh?" He expounded his worriment, at last taking on a British accent for the last part that he said, "Trust me, I'm a Doctor." Upon that, he turned and received a room from Cane, who actually kind of reminded him of himself, in a bit of a creepy, mutually lankiness sort of way.

Once up in the room, he settled into one of the two beds that had been designed around the general theme of the room: Chocolate Chip cookies. He lifted one of the brown sheets adorned with plush chocolate-shaded bumps and fluffed up a cylinrical cookie pillow. He didn't know if Natalie would take his suggestion, but he hoped he would... he agreed with Jenna how odd this whole circumstance and setting was. He wanted to keep his friends close, and his enemies far away; not his usual policy, but still...

THERE'S a STIRRING INSIDE of ME.

Pierce had lost everything after the ferry flipped. She was still soaking wet by the time they showed up at the inn. Would she have to spend the night in a towel? Something about the whole situation seemed off. Everything was so quiet and empty. These people were overly accommodating. Why had they taken them here rather than just bringing them to the shore and letting the police get them situated and sent home? Red flags had been raised in her mind. There weren't very many of them that were brought here. Only four counselors were with them and there was about fifteen campers. Where was everyone else? If this couple was going to help them, why wouldn't they help the rest of the people that were on the ferry?

She had no need for the clinic. Pierce just needed sleep and possibly a shower if she could keep herself standing up for that long. She copied everyone else and got a room key, trudging slowly up the stairs and to the designated guest room. A chill ran down her spine and she couldn't help but feel like she was being watched. This place seriously gave her the creeps. I just want to go home. Why couldn't they just leave us when we reached the shore so that we could go home? She wished her stuff handed been lost in the depths of the ocean water or that her phone wasn't ruined.

Her chest stung as she opened the door and tears pricked at her eyes. All of her stuff was gone. First someone stole some of her pictures, now the rest of them--including the locket--were never going to be recovered. Daddy I'm sorry. Would he be mad at her if he knew? Pierce sucked in air and walked into the small guest room. It was quaint and relaxing. She wanted to flop down on the bed and go to sleep for the next year, but then it would get damp. She needed a shower first.

Pierce walked into the bathroom and turned on the faucet. Steam quickly filled the room as she stripped out of the soaked layers of clothes. They made a squishing sound as they fell into a heavy wet pile on the floor. Her long hair was a tangled mess, but fortunately it had been in a braid which made it slightly more manageable. Little white dots clung to her hair as the salt from the ocean dried on her skin. She unbound the hair binder from the bottom of the braid and stepped inside the shower. It felt wonderful. She actually felt like she could relax this way. The tension in her muscles loosened and her whole body slowly began to feel at ease.

When she finished, Pierce wrapped a fluffy white towel around her body and used a second for her hair. She rinsed her clothes off in the tub so that they wouldn't be covered in salt water, then hung them from the curtain rod. She proceeded to blow dry her hair and hang one of the towels up on a hook on the back of the door before slipping into bed with the other still tightly around her body. She wasn't a fan of sleeping naked, but at least like this it was almost as if she were sleeping in a dress--sort of.

She shut off the bedside lamp. If anyone was sharing a room with her, she wouldn't be bothered when they turned on the light. Exhaustion was overwhelming and it sucked her into sleep as soon as she was situated comfortably in the bed--which didn't take much work at all.

    DAY 35/4DATEJUNE 17THLOCATIONCLINIC / ROOM
    MOODDOWN / TIRED❤??NOTHINGOOC. . .

The bandage wrapped tightly around Bryan's forehead had been anything but unnoticeable. He sighed. The ferry flipping thing had been completely awful, and he was still a little shaken up, but he took the time to comfort some of the others before and after being treated.

The only one he hadn't talked to . . . Bryan couldn't help but feel like Noëlle was avoiding him . . . and he couldn't help but feel bad. Was she mad at him? He couldn't think of why. The thoughts and worries just made him feel dejected and a little worthless that he couldn't protect or save her. She probably hated him. He wouldn't blame her . . .

The adults were nice and pleasant to be around, and there was nothing he liked better than talking to a few of them. They did seem a little out of the ordinary, but most people were so he didn't pay attention to it.

With a yawn, Bryan flopped down onto his bed, the day completely getting to him. He wanted to look for his sister, but he was afraid that she might not want to see him . . . He couldn't believe how things were turning out; the forest fire and the ferry sinking, back to back. If he didn't know better, he'd say this was some kind of divine plan!

I sure wish I had my phone . . . Noëlle hadn't messaged him back, which only boost his fears -- but he took a little comfort in knowing that . . . well, all of their phones were probably kaput.

He would see her tomorrow. Tomorrow, they would talk. As Bryan drifted off, he could only hope that she wasn't growing to hate him.

" AND SO IT BEGINS... "

Erik followed the group that went to the clinic so that he could keep a watchful eye on them. Something about this whole thing seemed wrong. Nothing added up. He watched horrified as Maria passed out and a nurse hurried to her side. A doctor with a second nurse came out after and within the blink of an eye she was gone from sight. He waited til all the kids were seen and then safely brought over to the inn. "We can keep her here for the night if you would like to turn in as well." Came a voice as the receptionist stepped into view.

"No I'll wait." He had nodded off in the waiting room when a cough jolted him awake. The doctor that had helped carry Maria away was standing there with the young platinum blond beside him. His hand was clasped over her shoulder and she looked completely out of it, like a walking corpse. "Is she better?"

    "She will be."

She didn't even seem to be hearing them. Was that from the pain killers they no doubt pumped her with? "I'll take her now." Erik jumped to his feet and wrapped an arm around her shoulder. Carefully he walked her back across the street and to the inn. Maria didn't say a single word the whole time.
When they reached the front desk, they were given a room key. Erik guided her to the designated room and unlocked the door. Maria had been cleaned up in the clinic and that seemed a little... wrong? Indecent? Unnatural? He wasn't really sure but it left an unsettling feeling in the pit of his stomach. There was someone already asleep in the room and he guided her to the vacant bed.

Erik grabbed a pillow and blanket from the bed and made a makeshift bed on the floor. He slipped into the bathroom and took a quick shower before returning to the bedroom. The girl was asleep in bed by the time he was out there. He laid down on the floor and pulled the sheet over his head before falling asleep.

    DAY 3 5/4DATE JUNE 17THLOCATION INN / CLINIC
    MOOD PARANOID 37% = NOËLLE / 3% = SOPHIEMUSIC !!
    OOC . . .

The only that could have been worse would be if there were an oil leak and the sea caught fire. Quentin's expression was bitter as he sat at the inn. It had been a long boat and car ride, especially since he waited for Sophie. He would never have forgiven himself himself if he had left either of his girls behind. The entire boat had been totaled, semingly without cause, and no officials had showed up. Instead, it took multiple trips by a single private owner to get them all to safety. Well . . . Everyone I care about.

The car and boat ride to the place had been long. Quentin grew suspicious as no officials showed up even after everyone was accounted for. Watching Sophie was the only thing that kept him from getting stir crazy. She kept him focused. He started noticing her penchant for jewelry and wondered where it came from.

When they got there, the rescued were split up--injured to the clinic, uninjured to the inn. He and Sophie were sent to the former. A girl named Cane gave them their keys. Noëlle wasn't in the inn. His expression grew darker when he realized what that meant. He gave Sophie a once-over and asked her, "Are you alright?"

"A little worse for the wear, but I'm alive." She seemed genuine.

"Good. I'll be back." He exited the inn and ran across the street to the clinic. He got the strangest feeling she he got there, like something was cooking. His eye widened. I hope she's okay . . . He charged in and saw her in the waiting room, to which he sighed deeply with relief. Her name was called just as he entered and she got up to leave, so he stepped back outside and waited for her.

When she came back out, she was walking briskly and looked extremely unhappy. He looked back at the clinic with disgust. What did you do to her? When he turned back to follow his girl, she was already inside the inn, getting her key from Cane. He ran over, but she ran up the stairs. He called out to her as she entered her room, but she either didn't hear or ignored it.

He tried to open the door, but it was locked by the time he got there. He raised his hand to knock, but heard something and reconsidered. Is she crying? What the hell did they do?! His mind reeled as it ran through the possibilities. He didn't know what to do with a crying girl in any of them. It took him several minutes to stop fidgeting. Eventually, he decided it didn't matter and opted to sit in font of her door.

I'll wait until she stops crying, then ask to come in. He listened to the sound of her sobbing breaths and counted the minutes. It would have peaceful if for the crying. He closed his eyes and breathed in the sweet scent of the hallway. It was making him sleepy. At least she's safe . . . He listened, but she didn't stop crying. He was alseep before he got to thirty.

Lexi smiled at Stratana. She wasnt into that girly stuff, but Stratana seemed really happy to have made a friend, so she decided to give it a go. "Sure. That sounds nice. I don't usually get that since I don't much like it, but I'll try anything once!"

At that moment, Lexi forgot her plan to get with Stratana. Stratana was a friend, and if they were meant to go there, then they would. Until then, they were just friends.

"No, I'll be okay. I don't think it's broken." That was a huge lie. She KNEW it was broken. But she was scared of tragedies that could befall her friends if she left. She held her left arm with her right one and followed Sebastian. She hadn't noticed th pain in the boat because of all the adrenaline. But, then again, she landed badly in the water. Yes, she recalled it now. She hadn't closed her fist when landing, and she broke her arm when she hi the water.

Natalie was going to endure the pain until morning, but soon it consumed her and she fell to her knees, crying at how bad it was.

Stratana threw her soaked bag off her back and onto a stretched of taffy-looking rubbery carpet. Digging past the barely touched clothes, she glanced over her cupid's brew before pulling out a couple of bottles of nail polish. Blue for me, pink for her; we can match! She squeed with glee as she handed Lexi the Pink bottle and hopped into one of the beds, tucking her legs underneath her rump as she sat. She readjusted her tube top as it sank down a little with her jumping around, and immediately set to work about her nails. "So, you never did get a chance to answer my question about having a boy friend. Have someone at home maybe? I don't. Between you and me, I usually tend to have "toys" compared to actual romances." She confessed with a sly smirk.

Sebastian made sure Natalie was settled into her own bed before taking his own. He checked over her arm lightly, careful not to touch it too much, but prodding here and there lightly with his fingertips. He wasn't a real doctor, but he knew anatomy pretty well. He smiled. "Probably just a hairline fracture; just don't put any weight down on it, or lift anything heavy, and it should heal on its own." With that said, Sebastian locked the door and left the lights on. He grabbed one of a pair of Chocolatey bathrobes and changed out of his wet suit before settling into bed. Right as he passed by her, he tossed Natalie the other bathrobe. "Hadn't thought of this, but sleeping in wet clothes won't do your system any favors. I'd help you with the arm problem and all..but you know. Modesty and those sorts of things." Sebastian joked before he hopped right into bed and covered up. Sleep found him after a most painful and at the same time most joyous day.

"The first boy I ever fancied was called Rory." Lexi said simply, focusing on her nails. She DESPISED pink with a passion, but she'd try it for Stratana. Heavens knew the girl needed a friend. "Actually, she was called Nina. Then I killed her for cheating on me with this girl named Traci." Lexi stopped for a sec. "I'm only telling you that because I trust you. I'm sure the others have already said stuff about me, since I told them on the first day at camp. Ah well, I have you and Natalie as my friends now, so I don't need anyone else." She felt really attached to this girl, as if they were a team.

"Right. Thanks Sebastian." Natalie said. She took the robe, went to the bathroom and put it on, then lay in bed. "I'll see you tomorrow I guess... Goodnight." The girl gave a final big yawn before falling asleep completely.

Rory. Sounded normal, as she decorated her left pinky nail on top of her bare thigh were a scrape had caused her to lose half a pant leg; and of her favorite jeans! Then Traci and Nina. She splattered blue onto her thigh as she recoiled at the names. They sounded like girl names, and oddly enough, this caught her off guard more than the word "killed" did and immediately pushed the violent record out of her mind to make way for the realization Lexi wasn't probably that much interested exclusively with guys. Instinctively, she pulled the covers over to her side and covered herself up to her neck. She was about to chastise Lexi for what she was when she realized she wouldn't be alive if not for her. "Ummm... when I said "anything" earlier... I want to stress that I don't go that way." It killed her to be considerate, but it was either play nice or go back to feeling horrible and wind up expanding like a balloon exponentially. "I'm alright that you do," She lied as scooched a little distance away, "But I just really want you to know that- EEP!" She hit the edge of the bed and wound up heading backwards until she forced herself forward.

Unfortunately, in doing so, she pushed too far and landed with a thump! on her face. It was odd. She tasted wet fabric, but the way she'd fallen made it impossible that it was her own clothes pressing up against her lips. She opened her eyes to realize she'd landed right into Lexi's lap; probably one of the worst places to have wound up. She whipped right back up, wide-eyed and slightly breathless.

"Okay...so that was an accident..." Stratana murmured nervously. She was on the verge of tears. Somehow, for the first time, feeling like she was hurting someone else hurt her too.

Lexi blushed when Stratana landed in her lap. "I... Um... It's okay. And, I understand." She helped Stratana and looked into her eyes. "I get it. We can be friends, and just that, you know?" Lexi capped the nail polish, then looked away from Stratana.

This whole scenario was too awkward. "I'm gonna go to bed. Let's hang out tomorrow, okay?" She gave Stratana a quick hug and headed to the bathroom to pull on a robe. Then she got into bed. "Night."

Man, that was WAY too close. Stratana seemed a bit weirded out by what Lexi confessed to. She was right, it WAS way too soon to be telling people. But Stratana WASN'T people. She was a friend, a trusted friend.

These were Lexi's final thoughts as sleep finally overtook her, and she fell into a deep slumber.

Stratana had hated people like Lexi her whole life. What reason had she now to feel as crushed as she did in her heart, which had been forced to feel with the sudden changes it had been brought to witness? Normally, Stratana would leave, probably even ruin Lexi's social life forever, but she could not bring herself to do it. Instead, all that bustled through her head was curiosity and a strange feeling in the pit of her stomach that was hunger. Hell, Stratana even had to urge to kiss h- No! She wouldn't she was just being silly from the lack of necessities throughout the day. She'd feel better tomorrow; or would she.

She knew there was only one way to answer her question. She crept over to see if Lexi was asleep, and in seeing that she was, laid down beside her and wondered what was the difference in all the times she'd woken up with men and didn't feel anything, but now she felt giddy and light hearted...-No! She had to get out of that bed before Lexi woke back up, and so she leaped from veritably one side of the room to the other. The bathrobe didn't quite fit her as well as it did for Lxi; more cleavage than she cared to show right now showed prominently and her hips were a tight squeeze in the slim women's bathrobe.

Dressed and feeling awkward as all living Hell, Stratana cozied up into bed, wondering if she'd done the right thing. The word "Sexy" came back to mind as she realized even then Lexi had been trying to clue her in. But the word, coming from a girl in such a fashion should have changed meaning entirely, right? The truth was the opposite. She felt now closer to Lexi than she'd ever been to anyone. Was it real friendship? Was it real love? She could not say for sure. These were her last thought trains as another day came to a close for her tired eyes, and she felt her tummy gurgle again in dissatisfaction once more before her world turned to dreams.
