He listened to all that had happened and his suspicions about Cherry Red being involved were indeed confirmed. She seemed to be beating herself up about it. Beating herself really hard. This was not good, not good at all. Then she simply ended with apologizing for barging in on him and saying how he was having such a fun time and that she shouldn't have tried to drop this on him. Well that was no good either. Evan simply gave her a smile and said, "silly Ria, I'm always having fun. So it's no problem to try and help a friend out, especially because it's fun when they're feeling all better." He looked around and realized this was probably causing a major scene, and the last thing the girl in hysterics needed was to have all the attention focused on her. As such Evan picked her over to the towel he had set up. "Now let's go back and get you dry."

Wrapping Ria up in his towel he proceed to walk with her back to the hotel and all the way to the room. "Now then, I think you should get to bed and have a good nights rest. Trust me, things'll start looking up for you Ria. You're a good person and I'm thinking stuffs gonna start getting good. After all this is a beach resort, the place where magic happens." He looked away for a second, pensive, saying distantly "or was that Niagara falls?" He snapped his focus back to Ria. "Point is, things'll probably be better now, especially because all the bottled up feelings are now out there. But if you ever need me to talk to or vent on, just come and fine me. Good night Ria." Evan left her, kind of forgetting that he was still half naked and that she had his towel, and went to his room. Not wanting to really distrub the air that was going on between Cherry Red and Bossman, he simply sat outside the room and fell asleep like an easily forgettable boy who had a crush on a pink haired lady once did.

Meanwhile, Dennis was confused and unsure of what to do. Like, Pierce just started turning into a machine gun of goods. That was rather, unsettling. He was wondering if he had accidentally broke her or something, but didn't really want to interrupt. Then she said it was super late and time for bed. In the middle of the day. Then she just bolted off out of there faster than a zebra running from a lion. Dennis looked back to where she had been sitting and realized that her book...it was lying there. Oh dear lord. The options here were very black and white and he was forced to pick one of the two. Take it....or leave it. He really did not want to read that book and really did not want to be seen holding it. Like, dear god, he might die a little on the inside if someone caught him with that. However, he couldn't just leave her book....in the sand. Mustering all the willpower he could, he reached in and grabbed the book, only to instantly wrap it up in a towel so no one would see it at all.

Having nothing left to do on the beach, and wanting to get the book out of his possession as fast as possible, he decided to go return it to its owner. He walked all the way over to where they were staying, prepared himself for the hand off, and knocked on the door. "Uh, Pierce. You in there? You uh, left something at the beach."

He waited for a bit and then the door slightly opened. While she hadn't opened it much he could still see her extremely red face. God this was just so awkward. At that moment for some reason he thought that some gentlemanly figures heart was exploding with envy, but that was neither here nor there. "Um, th-thanks Dennis."

"Uh, yeah. No problem. Here you go." He looked around for a bit before unwrapping the booking and extending it out to her. She then took the book slowly from his hands and he felt like a very sitcom related weight had just been lifted. After the exchange he said, "Well, good night Pierce. Um, see you later."

"Y-yeah, thanks again. Night Dennis." With that awkward moment out of the way, Dennis gave a wave and walked away to get to his own room. Once there he simply dove into bed and did not know what had actually happened. His day went from so mellow to completely awkwardly confusing that he was just sort of feeling weird about everything. If there was one thing he was sure of, it was that he had no idea how he felt about today. With all the commotion out of the way he simply fell asleep waiting for the new day.

Lilly was excited when he offered for her to join them in swimming. But by the time they had gotten to the water, he was with Elisa the whole time. She got it, she understood they were together and she really appreciated the fact she wasn't making him suffer, but Lilly was trying to block it out. She kept looking over though, because she of course thought he was cute, but every time she did she had to see him gawking over Elisa.
When Lilly got tired of swimming she got out, and decided not to follow Elisa, Ryder, and Richie when they left. They didn't offer either so she assumed they had no care about that anyway. Lilly continued with her sandcastle building until sunset. After sunset she just wandered around the resort kicking her feet around until she was stopped.
"Excuse me hun. Where are your parents?"
    Aw ****.
"O-oh, um. They are um, at their room."
"Well after 10, kids shouldn't be wandering around here on their own."
Are you kidding me? I'm not a... damn it...
Lilly knew it wasn't 10 yet but after that encounter she decided to just go back. She showered up and then went to bed. She was almost hanging off of the bed though, taking up little space as though she wasn't even there.

Tucker took the clothes from him and Erik exited the bathroom. He lingered near the doorway just in case his friend decided to do anything else, but he kept his back to it, staring out the sliding glass door. Tucker was a mess. Whatever happened seriously messed him up. There was the sound of footsteps and Erik turned to see Tucker leaving the bathroom. That was good. It was a start. He at least seemed coherent now. Whatever had put him in that trance must have lightened a bit.

Erik helped him to the bed and pulled back the sheets. Tucker crawled his, his hair still damp, and pulled the covers over himself. He curled into a ball in the bed and Erik sighed, taking a seat beside him. He gave Tucker a pat on the shoulder, then proceeded to rub his own. It hurt from breaking the door in two. That was not going to go over very well with hotel staff. They would need to keep the do not disturb sign on the door until they could figure out what to do with the bathroom. That dent in the wall and the broken door were going to be a hefty charge. Perhaps he could head to a store and take care of it himself?

"I'll pay for the damages." It was the first real thing Tucker had said to him since entering the hut. He had tried to protest a few times in the bathroom, but they never went anywhere. Erik was going to tell him not to worry about it -- that he would pay for it -- but Tucker didn't give him a chance to respond. "I-I'm horrid, Erik. My father was right. I'm worthless. I only deserve punishment. I'm a monster." His breathing got more and more erratic as he spoke and he started to cry again. "I don't know who to trust anymore. I don't know who is telling the truth. I understand why they would lie. I just keep hurting everyone... I-it's my fault! Why I won't be able to call Freya anymore. Why we've been in odd terms. Why M-maria has been hurting! Hurting so much! I... oh god-"

Tucker broke out into another sob and didn't continue. Erik inched closer and gave him another pat on the shoulder before leaning back against the wall. So that's what this was about. He breathed out and folded his hands behind his head. "Tucker," he started slowly, "Listen to me, and listen to me good. You're not a monster or worthless. You're not your father. You don't deserve punishment. You always blame yourself for everything when it's not all your fault. True, we haven't been the closest lately, but that isn't all your blame. I'm at fault too. Maria's a big girl. She knew what she was getting into when she started to develop feelings for you. As for Freya, well, I don't like the idea of you being around her, but I'm not going to tell you not to talk to her either." He picked up his phone off the table and leaned over his friend to set it beside him. "If you want to talk to her, you can use my phone. Your father was never right. What he did to you and to all those other kids is wrong and you are not to blame. I know you blame yourself for not doing something back then, but you were a kid. That wasn't your fault."

He sighed and shut his eyes. "I told you, you needed to talk to Maria. Maybe if you had talked to her months ago like I said, things wouldn't be this bad now, or they could be worse. I dunno. But I do know you and I do know her. If you're this upset, she's gotta be this upset too and things won't get better until the two of you really talk. Take some time to yourself and feel better. I know how you are and you're not gonna wanna call Freya like this because you'll feel even more guilty about making her upset that you're upset and there's nothing she can do since we're already here. Just try to relax. We'll do something fun tomorrow to take your mind off of it. How 'bout a hike or something? That could be good -- get our hearts pumping, breathe in some fresh air, get away from all this." Even though Tucker wasn't looking, he waved his arm in a circle to encompass the room and everyone outside of it. Erik slid down the wall a bit, the pillows propped behind his back.

Julius couldn't even really answered the girl and even if he could he wasn't even given the time. Looking at the girl quite confused he merely gave the girl a salute before she ran off and left him alone. "Women..." Julius said shaking his wet head with a sigh. With his company gone Julius merely head off out of the water and back on the beach. With his stuff neatly placed to the side, Julius wasted no time and head over to it.

Cleaning and drying himself off in the nearby public shower, Julius smiled as he began to put on his clothing. The relief of his sock and boots on his feet was nice for Julius and he just smiled as a towel rested around his neck. He took the time to walk around the beach and upon spotting Lennox Julius sighed as he walked up to her and rested his arm on her shoulder lightly.

"Your really something you know, though you mess with my mind constantly...you always interest me..." Julius said removing the towel from his neck and placed it around the wet girl. He ran up a bit and glanced over his shoulder at her "I'm quite new at this whole affection thing and never really took time for even a thought about romance...so forgive me for my ignorance" Julius said with a chuckle.

Elisa was of course very excited about playing games. She was excited about pretty much everything all the time. Lilly stopped swimming with them after that. Ryder gave her a small wave after they left the beach and went to go find other things to do. Elisa wanted to race. Ryder won of course. He was a lot faster than his girlfriend and his twin since he was the only one of the three that actually did physical activities. The other two were all artsy and musical and theatrical, unlike him.

He draped a towel over his shoulders and followed the both of them around to do whatever it was they did. It was fun, albeit, he would never admit to it being fun. Unfortunately all that time had to be spent with Richie as well. Augh. When they were done, they all walked back to Elisa's room. She gave Richie a hug and Ryder a kiss. He said good night to her and had the unfortunate luck of having to walk the rest of the way back to his hut with his brother.

Ryder showered quickly, scrubbing all the salt off his body. The ocean was cool and all that jazz, but cleaning up afterwards was a pain. Salt got in everything and it really stung the eyes. He changed into some dry clothes and hung his trunks outside on the patio. Ryder went to find something to eat before coming back to the room and making his way out to the hammock where he did indeed intend on sleeping. He ate a bag of chips and drank a bottle of soda before grabbing a thin blanket and curling up in the hammock for sleep.

The things Erik was telling him wasn't new but just as always he had an incredibly hard time in believing it. Though, it did ease him up a bit - probably because someone was actually talking to him and he was listening to that voice instead of the ones in his head.

He didn't want to talk to Maria though. He really didn't. He wouldn't know what on earth to say! What could he say after hearing the words she had to say for herself? He had no idea on how to fix it - part of him didn't even want to. He wanted to forget about it and put. It in the past and ignore it but Erik, who was usually correct, was probably right again. if he didn't do something soon they were bound to have a conversation that would be blown out of proportion once again.

He also didn't want to talk to Freya. He didn't exactly know why but part of him was glad he had broken his phone, it gave him an excuse not to. Of course there was the offer from Erik but he couldn't possibly take it. He didn't want to.

He coughed. Everything still hurt inside. It still felt like vultures were ripping and pecking at his organs. He hugged the pillow he got even tighter. Things were getting very uncomfortable. Very painful. He groaned at the pain and dug his nails into his arms as he shifted on his side slightly.

The red head just wanted to be alone but he knew Erik wouldn't leave him. Not when they both knew what kind of state he was in. A hike or something outdoors-y did sound very nice. If others were coming he knew he had to really ignore all of what he was feeling and smile.

He shifted once more as the pain felt like it was throbbing everywhere. He took a sharp intake of breath before a shaky exhale escaped him. This was too much. He needed to stop thinking and stop hurting. He didn't glance at his friend but muttered a small "thank you. Good night." And then forced himself to sleep. He only pretended to sleep at first because it took a while before the nightmares took over.

LENNOX was just wandering around on the beach. She had debated going to bother Erik and maybe swipe a bottle or two of this aforementioned booze, but didn't have that much ambition. She wasn't really disappointed about Julius not being attracted to her, although she did wonder if he had a few screws knocked loose during his time in the army because of it. Lennox knew damn well just how attractive she was, even if she wasn't the most sane person. Everyone is a little bit crazy, right?

She was dragging her feet in the sand when she felt an arm wrap around her shoulders. There was a body pressed against hers and she instinctively reached for her pocket ready to knife somebody. Unfortunately, she didn't have her knife on her. Fortunately, she didn't have her knife on her. When Lennox looked up to see Julius now dressed with his towel around his neck, she was glad to know that she was empty handed. Anyone else would have been shanked right then and there. ⌈ Jeez. You startled me. ⌋ she told him. Honestly, this was quite a surprise. When she left him out in the water, she hadn't anticipated him to come looking for her.

You're really something you know, though you mess with my mind constantly...you always interest me... ⌋ said Julius, removing the towel from his neck and placing it around her. Lennox grabbed the towel with both her hands and ran it briskly over her hair.

You're an interesting fella too, ⌋ she commented. Was this his way of apologizing or something? He didn't need to apologize. She wasn't some little girl. As if his comment earlier would have broken her heart or something. Whatever.

Julius removed his arm from around her and started to run ahead of her. He glanced back over his shoulder at her, just as Lennox was tying her hair back up. ⌈ I'm quite new at this whole affection thing and never really took time for even a thought about romance...so forgive me for my ignorance. ⌋ He laughed. She liked that laugh of his.

Lennox hung the towel around her shoulders and started to jog the beach to keep pace with him. Her feet pressed down firmly on the sand and she gave him a nudge to his side. ⌈ You are absolutely forgiven cap'n. ⌋ She winked and tossed his towel back to him before breaking out into a full blown sprint and pulling ahead. Why they were running, she had no clue, but it seemed like fun at the time. Plus, she needed to stay in shape so what better way, right? Lennox came to a stop next a beach chair in the sand and turned around to face Julius, waiting for him to catch up. She leaned on the back of it and bit down on her bottom lip. Salt clung to her skin and her clothes still had big wet spots from the bikini underneath. So does this mean you're in the mood for romancing? ⌋ she asked, with emphasis on the word romance. Lennox gave him a wink. Flirting/teasing Julius was a lot more fun than she ever imagined it would be. He acted so mature and grown up, yet not, at the same time. He didn't seem like the type of guy to just jump into bed with anyone, and yet she couldn't help but throw the offer out anyway. Hmm, did that make her look easy?

The towel instantly hit his face and as he removed the towel from his face he turned his attention back to Lennox. Noticing the girl run ahead of him, Julius smiled as he ran after her as she head over at the chair. Once he reached the girl Julius merely crossed his arms and continued to stare at the girl. As usual when he heard the girl speak his eyes widened, but having gotten used to the girl, his widening eyes haven't been so wide as they were before.

"Oi I said Im a total noob at this whole entire romance shenanigans...hell there are many things you can mean by romance damn it" Julius said closing his eyes "I mean come now we've only known each other for merely two days..." Julius said leaning downwards towards her, their faces were quite close to each other "I've met many pretty women...but...Dunno whats it is about you but your the first I've ever felt like this for.. maybe I really have grow an attachment for you...how strange..." Julius said with a smile as he stared down at her big blue eyes. Those blue eyes always enchanted him.

Evan held her close. Silly Ria, I'm always having fun. So it's no problem to try and help a friend out, especially because it's fun when they're feeling all better. he told her. He was such a dork, but a sweet dork. He walked her over to his towel while she just cried on his. Now let's go back and get you dry. He wrapped her up in his towel and she leaned into his side. Evan guided Maria the entire way back to her room. He was being too kind. She couldn't even form words between the sobs to say that too him. His generosity was too much. She just let the warm towel envelope her and bury herself further into his wet body.

When they got back to her room, Evan stopped in front of her door. Now then, I think you should get to bed and have a good night's rest. Trust me, things'll start looking up for you Ria. You're a good person and I'm thinking stuffs gonna start getting good. After all this is a beach resort, the place where magic happens. He looked away for a second, pensive, saying distantly or was that Niagara falls?

Maria choked on a half sob half laugh. Only Evan could make her laugh while she was bawling her eyes out like this. He was so clueless all the time. He snapped his focus back to her. Point is, things'll probably be better now, especially because all the bottled up feelings are now out there. But if you ever need me to talk to or vent on, just come and fine me. Good night Ria.

Night Evan, she finally managed as he was half way down the hall. Maria unlocked the door and entered the hut, immediately making her way to the bathroom. In reality, she just wanted to curl up in bed and go to sleep, but her muscles ached and she was shivering. A shower -- more correctly, a bath -- was in order if she had any hopes on sleeping. She ran the hot water and walked out of the bathroom to grab her clothes and hygiene products. When she came back, the tub was half full and she stripped out of her wet dress and underwear, lowering herself into the tub. This would be the part where her long hair floated in the water around her, but now it was so short that it didn't even touch the water unless she completely submerged herself. Maria curled up in the tub as the hot water continued to fill it up. Her blue eyes ran over her body, stopping on the long scar between her hip and her mid ribcage.

Maria curled her nails into her palms to keep herself from clawing at the scar. She did that sometimes when she became too overwhelmed. It was just a big nasty reminder of how much of a failure she was and how she had to constantly rely on other people. She violently shut of the water and submerged her whole body below the hot water. Maria exhaled her breath and oxygen bubbles broke the surface. She held herself under until she couldn't handle it anymore. Wouldn't it be ironic? The person afraid of water and that cannot swim kills herself by drowning in a bathtub? She gasped for air as she rose from the water.

She didn't bother washing up. Maria just pulled herself out of the tub, stumbling to the floor and drained the water. Her head was dizzy from all the crying and from holding herself underwater. She dried quickly and slipped on her pajamas, rubbing the towel over her hair. Maria cleaned out her ears and shut off the bathroom light. Lilly was already in bed and she sighed outwardly before crawling into bed beside and shutting off the light.

HIS eye widened and she bit down on her lip to keep from laughing. ⌈ Oi, I said I'm a total noob at this whole entire romance shenanigans... Hell, there are many things you can mean by romance damn it. ⌋ he said while shutting his eye. That there were. She mashed her lips together, but a smile still tugged at the corners of her mouth. ⌈ I mean come now, we've only known each other for merely two days... ⌋ Julius leaned towards her. Was this really only their second time meeting? It didn't really feel like it. When he stopped leaning in, their faces were only inches apart. She licked her upper lip and arched her back. Her lips were salty from the sea. Now if only she had a bottle of tequila and some limes to go with it. ⌈ I've met many pretty women...but...Dunno whats it is about you but you're the first I've ever felt like this for.. maybe I really have grow an attachment for you...how strange... ⌋ He honestly sounded a little surprised by this. There was a smile on his face as he looked into her eyes.

I like you too Julius. You're different. I knew there was somethin' aboutchya when we met at the bar. It's like you're the whole package or however that saying stuff goes. ⌋ Lennox shrugged her shoulders. She wasn't one of those silly love at first sight believers or anything like that. Honestly, she didn't even believe in love, but there was something about Julius that just made her want to get to know him a lot more. ⌈ I tell ya what, ⌋ she started, her voice husky, ⌈ I'll cut back on the teasing, but on one condition. ⌋ Lennox bit down on the inside of her cheek as she leaned in closer to him. She pressed her lips to his before he could ask questions or protest. It was brief and over as quick as it started. She tapped her pointer finger on the tip of his nose and smirked. ⌈ Good night cap'n, ⌋ she said to him before sidestepping away.

Lennox gave him a pat on the shoulder, then started to jog towards the room she was sharing with those other girls. When she reached the edge of the beach, she stopped and turned back, cupping her hands around her mouth and shouting back to him, ⌈ Drinks tomorrow! ⌋ Lennox gave him a wave then disappeared.

while pierce was hiding under the covers of her bed from the world, lennox came into the room. she rifled through her bag then disappeared into the bathroom for a minute. when she came back out, there was a flumping noise as the woman collapsed on the couch and sprawled out. pierce, still thoroughly embarrassed, did her best to try and sleep as well.

after making sure tucker was definitely out and not acting, erik got off the bed. he opened up the door to get something to eat and found evan asleep in the hall. he sighed and tossed a blanket down on him. erik shut the door and just put on pajamas, thinking food could wait until tomorrow. julius came back while he was getting ready for bed. she said hello to him and then laid down on top of the covers on teh bed tucker was sleeping in.

Julius didn't know why her words surprised him, but he learned not to question each and everything that surprised himself with this girl. She was a stripper and for all he knew he could have been a mere pass time for this girl and nothing more, but something told him otherwise for some strange reason. When she said she would stop teasing him he was quite intrigued with what it was that would make her stop but then he froze.

His eye widened as wide as it could and even though it last for a mere instant he was still affected and stunned by all that had just happened. She poked his nose but he didn't react and he just remained just like he was when she kissed him and even when she ran off he remained the same. He heard her yell out to him and soon enough the attention was brought over to her. With her gone he merely closed his eyes and let out an exasperated sigh "Damn women..." Julius muttered, he was certainly not cut out for this.

He brought his hand to his lips and began to walk as he looked down at the hand touching his lips "my first kiss...why must this be so fucking difficult.." Julius said closing his eyes. True she said she would stop teasing him, but there was still the doubt in his mind and with that he knew he had to stop freaking out over every little thing. Jonathan was much more better at these things...

He continued to walk until he stopped upon something odd. "Evan? what the hell? we only just got here, you can't of gotten drunk already..." Julius said nudging the half naked boy in the side with the tip of his boot. Realizing the boy was not going to wake up Julius sighed before picking up the boy and placing him in a bed. With that Julius sighed before falling asleep.

Maria managed to get up and take a proper shower and dress herself, but then went right back to bed. She had no ambition to leave the room today, or really the rest of the vacation. She just wanted to stay hidden within the sheets until the trip was over and she could disappear again. Maria curled up, hugging the sleeves to her blouse tight against her body. She had originally thought this to be a really cute outdoorsy dress and had bought it specifically for the trip, now, she just did not want to see the light of day.

She pulled the sheets over her head, ignoring her roommates. Her display on the beach probably raised a number of flags to them and she most certainly didn't want to explain herself to this lot. She didn't even want to see Evan right now. Maria clutched her phone between her fingers and took a shaky breath. It hurt to breath. She sniffled and buried her face into the pillows. It was like as soon as she woke up, the tears started anew. She wasn't even that mad at Tucker, she could never really be mad at him. She was just confused and more than a little disappointed in herself for not staying to see what he had to say. It just hurt so much.

I told him. I told him I love him and then disappeared. Maria rolled onto her side and pulled a pillow against her chest, hugging it close. She had debated sending him a message, but never worked up the courage. He probably didn't want to talk to her anyway after all the hurtful things she said to him. She was just so angry. It was months of pain exploding out at once. The dam had broken and she couldn't stop the flow. Once it started, the words just kept pouring out. Tucker was fragile and the things she said to him were so hurtful. She stifled a sob into the pillow. As if all that wasn't bad enough, she had seriously considered holding herself under the water in the bath past the breaking point. It was just too much.

The cherry red haired man woke up gasping. His eyes darted open as they focused on the blank wall in front of him. He had expected something else. Something horrible, which made him release a small sigh of relief as he realized it was all but a dream.

Visual aspects of his nightmares just moments ago couldn't find its way back to his memory. All what was left - and all that Tucker knew - was that he woke up terrified. Part of him wanted to know why but he was glad it was over. It felt like he was having chills under the covers of the bed, despite the warm, sunny climate of the beach resort. He felt like he was going to be sick. It took moments of trying to stay still to catch his breath before he could think things clearly.

Still shaken by the abrupt morning mini-panic attack, he slowly peeled the covers off of him and pushed himself up. He looked around the room. Julius, Evan and Erik next to him were all still asleep. He looked outside to the view past the glass sliding doors and he let out a deep sigh. Inhaling deeply, he placed his palms over his face and dubbed the crystals of dried tears out of his eyes as he let out a shaky exhale. He still couldn't remember anything from the dream but fear was still looming over him.

As he pulled his hands back from his face he realized that he could still smell an air of chlorine. That's right. He hasn't showered from yesterday…. yesterday. He shook his head quickly, as if trying to protect himself from the flashbacks that was ready to crawl back into his scared mind. He quickly got out of bed, grabbed clothes for today and walked off to the bathroom.

Tucker stopped before entering, as he realized that the door was broken and wooden chips were mixed with broken phone fragments on the floor. He stared for a while, remembering how it happened. How he had locked himself in the bathroom. How he sulked and sobbed. How Erik burst into the bathroom, hence the broken door, and helped him out. How he realized and remembered just what kind of a person he wa- he shut his eyes tight. No. There had been too much pain and tears already! This was a new day. This had to stop.

He stepped into the bathroom quietly, placed his clean clothes on the counter and then bent down and began to pick up the pieces of wood and metal. He worked quickly, wanting to dispose of the evidence as quickly as possible. He there them into the bin and once everything was cleaned up he shut the door as… well, properly as he could then stopped off of his pajamas and hopped into the shower without glancing once at the mirror. He showered quickly but couldn't find himself to get out.

Everything was still hurting inside. His stomach turned and his lungs still seemed to be malfunctioning. He wondered where his heart had been taken away because his chest still seemed to hurt the most. He stood there for a moment, almost unaware that his tears had mixed with the cold water rushing down from the shower head and onto his body. He blinked his eyes, rubbing his face with his hands a bit and then finally got himself to turn the shower off. He wiped himself down with his towel and put on his patterned shirt and washed out denim shorts. He gave his head a shake to dry his hair and then opened the bathroom door carefully, placed his pajamas back into his bag and then walked outside to the patio.

He hung his towel on the chair outside, under the sun to dry and then just took a seat by the steps. He needed some time alone right now. He needed to get the fear out of him and try and smile. Ignorance was something he probably should grow out of - especially with what Erik said - but right now, he just couldn't handle it. What if someone had seen the pool incident and asked about it? What if Freya suddenly called up - what could he possibly tell her? What if the nightmares from a while ago were just a warning? What if there was something worse? What if... What if he saw Maria again today?

He just wanted to be alone but Erik wasn't going to let him - that was for sure. More than that, he wanted to stop existing because the pain was all too much. He wanted to walk out into the ocean ahead and let the waves swallow him up and disappear forever.

Lilly was half awake when she heard Maria sobbing from the other side of the bed. She sat up and stretched but kept her eyes fixated at lump under the covers. Lilly hated the sound of crying, mainly because she heard it all the time at home. But at home it was generally whining cries and complaints. These were similar to the tears her brother had when he had to break up with his girlfriend, and even then it wasn't well... this heartbreaking to hear.
Lilly stared for a long moment and got up to brush her hair, but she didn't get dressed. She was too focused on Maria, and she wanted to do something but didn't know what to say. She didn't want to be uncool and jump over and play harmonica towards her, hell if that was even helpful. She just didn't want to come across as pathetic.
Lilly walked on her toes back to the bed and sat down cross legged and spoke up, "Do you need anything Maria? Food, tea, fresh air, a terrible joke... something I need to obtain illegally? I'll get it."

Not too long after waking up, Shane went ahead and took his chance to take a shower before anyone else woke up. Like always he took his clothes with him into the bathroom. It was definitely faster and was something that he was used to doing. When he stepped out, fully dressed, the next thing he did was dig through his bag for his phone. Scrolling through the contacts, he found Seraphina and started to compose a message.
    To: Seraphina
    From: Shane
Message: Wanna go for a hike, I'll be in the lobby waiting.
As the message was sending, he went ahead and headed toward the lobby.

There was shuffling in the bed and Maria instantly felt worse for waking up Lilly with her crying. Just great. The weight shifted on the bed and it felt like Lilly got up. Maria buried herself further into the pillows and fought back a sob. She didn't want to wake everyone else up too. This was horrid. She hated crying in front of others and yet she had done a royally good job of doing so in front of Evan and the entire beach yesterday. Not to mention, now her crying was effecting those in the room with her. Maria wiped her face with the back of her hand. There was weight on the bed again. Lilly must have sat back down. She apparently wanted to try and cheer her up somehow, but it wasn't going to get her anywhere. Do you need anything Maria? Food, tea, fresh air, a terrible joke... something I need to obtain illegally? I'll get it.

She tried to smile, but it failed. It was sweet of the kid, but she didn't want anything or anyone. There was no way she could get herself to eat or drink anything and she definitely didn't want to go out for fresh air. It all sounded like it would take more energy than she had. Maria didn't want to listen to Lilly talk and there wasn't exactly anything illegal she would want or that the child could ge -- she sat bolt upright. Okay, so there was one thing she wanted right about now, but no way could she send Lilly to go get it. What kind of influence would she be on the young girl if she did that? This was something she would have to take care of herself, which meant getting out of bed.

Maria brushed her hair out of her face and wiped her eyes. She looked down at Lilly sitting cross - legged on the bed and raked her hands through her hair. I need Ryder Duvont. she said with a distant look in her eyes. If anyone on this trip would have it, it would be him. They didn't swim in the same circles -- herk, she doesn't swim at all -- but everyone that has ever done stuff like that just knows who the others are. She had seen him a few times, coming and going on her occasional ventures to restock. It wasn't like she did it often, just times like these when she was too upset for her own good. Had she been high last night, there was no way she would have held her head under the water in the bathtub until she ran out of breath.

She swung her legs down off the bed and slipped her feet into a pair of sandals. Maria sniffled and went for a box of tissues, dotting her eyes before putting on her large old person hipster glasses. There was a small decorative mirror on the wall and she happened to glance at her image, which looked like a nightmare. She fought back the oncoming sob and ran her fingers through her hair once more. Maria slipped her phone into her bra, having no pockets, and went to her purse to pull out a few bucks, just in case. Odds were good that he would want to be compensated for dishing out some of his stash. Maria swallowed down a lump in her throat and forced a smile on her face as she turned to look at the girl. Thanks Lilly, she said before walking out the door.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Maria knocked on the door and was greeted by a disheveled looking blond - haired, blue - eyed boy. What are you doing here? he asked rather abrasively. He held the door open just a crack and leaned his elbow against the door frame.

She pressed her lips together and inhaled slowly. She felt like a mess and her chest hurt so badly. Everything felt so hollow and empty. Are you carrying? she asked softly.

Excuse me? Ryder asked a little louder than she had hoped.

Maria cleared her throat and lifted her hand up by her mouth as if she were holding a bowl. Do you have any on you? I just need a little bit. She had never felt so desperate for weed before and it was clearly written all over her face.

Ryder leaned back and opened the door wider, taking in her full view. You look like hell, he commented with the faintest hint of concern in his voice.

I'm aware, she said coldly. Will you just answer my question? Do you have any on you? Maria really disliked the idea of coming to Ryder Duvont, but he was the only one she could guess to for sure be carrying.

He nodded his head and held up a finger for her to wait before shutting the door. From the outside, she could hear some sort of rustling noises and she took the time to pull out the loose bills she had stuffed down the front of her blouse. When the door opened again, they were in her hand that was trembling. She held the money out and he just shook his head. Don't worry about it. Ryder waved her hand away before grabbing her free one and holding it. It was really awkward, but then she felt the smooth glass piece against her skin and she clenched her fist shut tight. Just bring it back when you're done. It wasn't cheap. And don't break it, he added.

Maria nodded her head, speechless, before he shut the door in her face a second time. She turned her wrist so that her palm was face up and unclenched her fingers. The blue and green spoon pipe lay motionless in her trembling hand and she pulled it close to her body.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

She wanted to go some place far away where no one could find her and she would be able to suffer in peace. Wasn't that ironic? Unfortunately, that meant she would have to walk past Tucker's hut. Evan was in there. It would be easy to grab him and have him come with her, but that would mean risking an encounter with Tucker and also not being able to smoke. That was all she wanted more than anything now. It could momentarily take the pain away. Maria never imagined it would hurt this bad. This felt worse than everything else that happened over winter break put together. She glimpsed the hut as she walked by, keeping a good amount of distance between it and herself. There was a figure out on the patio adjoining it, but she didn't look to see who it was. She didn't want to know, in the event that it was him.

Maria just kept on marching to the best extent that she could. Her legs trembled and walking seemed to grow more difficult with every step. She reached the beach but didn't stop. The beach was too public. She needed a nice private location where no one would find her -- ever. There was a sign, way on the east end of the beach that read: No Swimming, Jagged Rocks. It seemed kind of perfect given the fact that she couldn't swim. It was shaded by large overhanging trees and spire - like jagged rocks jutted out of the ocean.

She slipped off her flip flops and held them in the same hand as the pipe. She would need better traction if she intended to climb up onto one of the rocks. Maria pressed her feet against their rough damp surface and climbed up a ways until she reached the top of a nice sized boulder. She was completely hidden back here. Waves crashed against the rocks and water sprayed up at her. She set her shoes down beside her and pulled out the pipe and lighter Ryder had given her. This was an extremely reckless thing to do, but at this point, she no longer cared. Her fingers ran down the side of her blouse, trailing over the scar on her side. That window had cut her pretty good. That was a terrible year at camp. And yet, it was pretty much what started all of this. Had it not been for the events to take place after, she probably never would have even started to like Tucker in the first place -- not this way at least.

So it really was as horrible as it seemed, because it led her to this point. Maria lifted the pipe up to her mouth and shielded the flame of the lighter with her hand. The wind was pretty strong up here. She sucked in a deep breath and the herb crackled where it glowed red. Smoke filled her lungs and she held it there until she could hold her breath no longer. Then, very slowly, she breathed out. The white cloud of smoke surrounded her before fading away into the wind. She took another hit and let her head roll back before exhaling up into the sky. It only took a few seconds for the weed to take affect. Her fingers felt all tingly and everything started to seem a little out of focus.

Maria curled up on the boulder, resting her head on her arm and pulling her shoes, the pipe, and her phone in close to her body so they wouldn't fall into the ocean. Everything slowly began to loosen up and not hurt so much, but it still didn't take the metaphorical pain away. Visions of yesterday just replayed over and over again in her head. She took a shaky breath and inhaled the salty air.

He could hear shuffling from inside of the hut. The others were probably starting to wake. It caused him to release a shaky sigh. Everything still really hurt: the side of his knees because he bruised them yesterday, along with the bump in the back of his head, but more so all his messed up insides like his knotted stomach, needly pricked lungs and the heart that was ripped out of him. He wasn't sure if he would be able to put a proper smile on for them to be fooled by.

The man put his knees together gently then rested her forehead on top of it. How could he make it stop? His mind was going haywire - the voices were mumbling about and the flashbacks - from yesterday, times with Freya, Erik and Maria and even back when he was a child with his father - were blurred but present. He was tempted to ram his head at the wooden pillar of the hut beside him but he knew that would cause more of a stir between anyone who was awake inside.

His fingers made their way up to the locks of his hair, which he gripped as tight as he could before releasing them again and looking up. He gazed out to the distance. It was like the ocean was calling to him, telling him to get lost in it. That the pain would go away as he returned to the water with the promise that the ocean would never bring him back to all this pain and sadness. His muscles tensed, probably fooled to wanting to get up but that wasn't the reason.

The voice of the waves shut up as a figure walked along the shore. Tucker didn't even have to look twice. It was her. The short brown locks that replaced her long blonde hair was unmistakable. It felt like a strong chill had frozen him completely. Maria hadn't once looked his way, which was good. He finally brought himself to get up on his feet. That's right. He was going to run. He was at the sliding door when he curiously glances back, seeing Maria head off towards the farther end of the beach. It caused him to raise an eyebrow. What was going on? She couldn't swim and he was pretty sure there was absolutely nothing left on that side but th-

"If you're this upset, she's gotta be this upset too and things won't get better until the two of you really talk."

He stopped, still watching the slowly disappearing Maria. He had no idea why that thought came back to him suddenly - nor why on earth a new, absurd thought came to his mind: He should follow her. He just didn't understand. It was like a battle in his mind and with a rather exasperated and annoyed grunt, he turns back, puts on some flip flops and hopped off of the patio to follow her.

By the time he had awoken he realized that one of the three in his group had already left. Julius actually believed that everybody would have awaken before him, but Julius was surprised to be proven wrong. The temptation to awaken the lazy asses was tempting, but Julius decided to leave them be and walked out of his room.

There were many things that Julius could do, but he had no idea what he wanted to do. He wanted something blood pumping, something that he didn't have to laze about for. The other day was more relaxing so he had to make it up otherwise his energy would leak out.

And so once again he was out on the beach walking until he noticed something quite interesting "boat...rentals" Julius said as he ran over to the person managing the boats. The exchange was done and once the cash was given Julius jumped into the speedboat he rented and placed on the complementary hat that he was given.

"press that pedal over there if you want to move"

He looked down at the pedal and placed his foot on it "You mean this pedaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal OH MY GOD" Julius yelled. The very moment his foot touched the pedal the boat jet forward before the rental guy could finish what he was saying.

"HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT" Julius yelled as the boat sped through the waters. Julius tried his best to control the boat with his steering wheel, but all he was doing was having the boat swerve all over the place

Waves crashed down loud against the rock spires. Salted mist sprayed up into Maria's face and lightly dampened her skin and clothing. Her hair was tussled and parting to the side as she rested her head on her arm. The rock was lumpy, hard, and uncomfortable, but Maria cared little about any of that right now. All that mattered was staying on top of it and not letting any of the pain get to her. This definitely seemed like the perfect spot to hide from the rest of the world. No one would come out to this area given how dangerous it was. The water was too deep. The waves were too strong. And, the rocks were too sketchy.

Maria! He name sounded like whisper in the wind. She must have just been hearing things. It was like the ocean was calling out for her. It wanted her to jump into it. The siren's call was hypnotic and enticing. Maria! There it was again. The ocean really was calling to hear between crashing waves. She lifted her head just slightly, looking down into the deep blue water below. How long would it take for the water to swallow her up and make her disappear forever? It was slowly becoming a more and more tempting idea. Maria started to sit up more, debating whether or not she wanted to fling herself into the murky depths.

Something grabbed her by the ankle and her blue eyes widened. She turned her head to see a hand wrapped around her bare skin. Following the hand up the arm, she was left dumbfounded by the owner. That head of cherry red hair that seemed to haunt her every waking thought was directly below her. He climbs up higher and her blue eyes watch as his chestnut ones fill with worry. Tucker clings to a rock just below hers and she stares at him in a bit of a daze, their eyes locked. Slowly, her eyes begin to widen and realization sets in. She clicked her tongue to the roof of her mouth and creases formed on her forehead. Tucker was there. He was saying something to her, but the words just went right through her. She blinked and another wave came crashing down, spraying salty mist around them. Oh, I'm fine. she eventually managed, What are you doing out here? It's dangerous. It didn't make sense as to why Tucker would have come out here. He wasn't one to normally take risks like this and she had come because it was dangerous.

I… I honestly don't even know b-but I would like to ask you the same question. He looked at her and for a minute, she thought he was going to have more to say. Tucker had that look on his face like he was about to start yelling again, but instead, he just sighed and said, Let's go.

Maria was wary of his actions. He didn't even know why he was out there? Tucker reached up and helped her upright, grabbing everything she had sitting on the rock with her as well. His chestnut eyes lingered on the pipe, but he didn't say a word about it. Her chest tightened up again and she could feel his judgmental thoughts washing over her. She held onto him and worked her way down the rocks bare foot, just as she had done climbing up them. When her feet touched the sand, she took her things from him and held them tightly in one hand. Annoyance seemed to work its way onto her face. She hadn't wanted to leave that spot -- probably ever. She turned her head, the brown curly locks swaying against her cheek, and looked out towards the vast expanse of ocean that stretched before them. A sigh slipped its way out of her lips and she spoke with the crashing waves. I could have gotten down on my own, when I was ready to. In all honesty, she probably never would have come down, or if she did ...

Come on let's get out of here. he mumbled in reply. With a sigh, she followed along. Tucker looked like he was bracing himself for something. The question was, what?

Their walking was awkward and distant. There was a great deal of space between two people that were supposed to be walking together. Sand squished hot beneath her feet. The sun had warmed the beach significantly and Maria needed to stop to put her flip flops back on. She dropped them onto the ground and slip feet over the foam. Her body bent slightly so that she could discreetly drop everything into the safety of of her bra. When she straightened out, her gaze drifted all the way back to the rock spires and the 'No Swimming' sign. She reached out for Tucker's hand and held his wrist so that he couldn't keep walking or turn away from her. Yesterday had been eating away at her. She needed to get out what she had to say before it was too late. Maria took a deep breath before saying, I'm sorry about yesterday -- for dumping all that stuff on you and then just running away. It wasn't fair to you. The guilt of what she had done was worse than the rejection she had been feeling for months. That weight that had been lifted off her chest yesterday had only lasted for a moment before a new one too its place.

His chestnut eyes ran over her then drifted off to the ocean before coming back to her. His gaze was distant and thoughtful as he stood there in silence. The seconds seemed to tick by at an excruciatingly slow rate before he finally cleared his throat to speak. No, it's fine. I deserved it. There was pain in his voice and yet he still forced a smile onto his face. That was just like him. Tucker was always grinning through the hurt. It only intensified how badly Maria always felt, knowing there was so much deeply rooted suffering that he refused to let anyone see.

She shook her head almost furiously. No you didn't Tucker. You're not this terrible person you make yourself out to be and I know that smile isn't genuine. I know what a real Tucker Knowles smile looks like and it isn't that. Her face had a mixture of sadness and anger to it. She didn't want to be lied to, even if just by a mere facial expression. Maria pressed her finger to his cheek, forcing the smile away. You don't have to pretend with me. You should know that by now. You can be real and tell me the truth. That's all she ever wanted.

His fake smile slowly turned into a frown at her touch. He turned his head and looked away from her, onto the sand at their feet. When she finished speaking, he lifted to head up to look back at her. His lips began to tremble and his eyebrows furrowed together. It didn't look like he was going to say anything at all. He looked broken and so very hurt. It was a pain she caused by the words she said to him and the guilt seemed to become one thousand times worse. She bit down on her lip. Tucker had inadvertently hurt her, but she intentionally hurt him. I'm so sorry, Maria. he blurted out shakily. It caught her off guard. He was apologizing.

It set her on the verge of tears again and she took a shaky breath. Her insides seemed to hum with life and twist up into a knotted little ball. Her hand fell to her side and she dropped her gaze. I know, she whispered, but I guess I just ... wasn't enough. It was something she would have to come to terms with eventually, no matter how hard that was to face.

Maria I- he immediately started after she said that, but then fell silent. Tucker seemed to have no idea where he was going with it. I… I- his eyes shut and he tilted his head to the side. Tucker winced in pain and she bit down on her tongue to keep from doing anything. Don't say that, y-you're great. You've always been...

It was like breathing razorblades. She chewed nervously on her bottom lip and leaned in ever so slightly. She didn't want to hear the rest of that sentence, and yet she did at the same time. I've always been what? she coaxed him. He needed to get out whatever it was he started.

His breath is still shaky as he continues, Just, th-the one who made me believe things would be okay. he smiles then. Not a dorky, grin or a weak forced smile but a genuine one for once in the longest time. She hadn't seen that smile in longer than she could remember. Then, he blinked his eyes in pain. He put a hand to his head and shut his eyes tightly for a second. It was starting to worry her.

Very softly she whispered, Things will be okay ... eventually. She reached up to take his hand away from his head and rubbed her thumb lightly against his temple. You'll be okay Tucker. Her eyes dulled at the sour thought, You said it yourself, Freya makes you happy. He would be fine. She on the other hand, was going to need a lot of time.

He opened his eyes, frowning again as he listened to what she said last. I-I don't know about that I- I wow. he groaned a bit, Maria, I don't think I'm feeling too well…

She wanted to know what he meant by that, but now was clearly not the time to press the issue. A sad look crossed her face, but she nodded and wrapped one arm around his waist. All right. Let's get you back and you can lie down. You should eat something too. If he had been as bad as she was, then he probably hadn't had anything to eat yet either. She held his waist and draped his arm around her shoulders to help him walk back. Maria pulled him in close to her side as they made the journey back to the huts. It was slow moving, but nice -- definitely better than how they had been walking before. She kept wanting to ask what he had meant when he said I don't know about that, but it would have to wait. She didn't want to get her hopes up, but perhaps Freya didn't have as strong a hold on him as the little albino girl believed she did.

Slowly, Tucker started to lean on her more and more as they walked. He had been trying to walk normally at first, but then as time went on, his body slumped more and he was resting his head on top of hers. It reminded her of Christmas. He clung to her, asking her not to leave so that he wouldn't have to be alone anymore. She promised that would never happen -- that she would always be there. What a terrible person she was. His body tensed as he winced and grunted in pain. At one point, he started speaking again, I'm r-really sorry Maria. For not being there when I should have. I- I just don't know what happened… what's happening… I- I'm so sorry. It was like he was reading her thoughts, but in reverse. That's what she should have been saying.

She patted his back reassuringly as they finish walking. The hut was within view now and she didn't want this to end, but it had too. Don't worry about it. What matters now is making you feel better. she told him, letting her own guilt fester and boil. Maria leaned her head into his side until they reached the sliding glass doors of his hut. She pulled away from him, but managed a smile to try and ease his pain. Try to feel better. Do you need anything? She didn't really know what she wanted him to stay -- Yes, don't ever leave my side, as if that would happen.

He shook his head. No, but thanks. Sorry for cutting this short. and sorry again for everything.

It's fine, she told him. Maria started to turn away and leave as Tucker went for the door.

She didn't make it far before hearing, We should hang out tomorrow! If you're okay with that?

A genuine half smile tugged at the corner of her lips and she nodded. Yeah, I'm okay with that. she said before walking away. He disappeared inside the hut and she headed back in the direction of her own. She should give Ryder his pipe back first, but all she wanted more than anything right now, was to lie down. That encounter had royally drained her for a second time on this trip and it was only day two. Would she be this exhausted the whole time? She made her way back to the room and laid down to sleep for the rest of the day, with no intention of getting up until the next one.
