Sweet words. The way he held her. His adorable face. The distance, or rather the lack of, between them. Oh, it made her melt. How on earth was she going to say no and go against that? She let out a small whimper and then just gave up. She knew there would be no winning this - because as she always knew, Ryder wins every time.

With that, she pretty much just flopped to him, resting her body solely on his and not even bothering to keep herself upright anymore as a sign of submission. "I'll tell Richie I'm out of town." her tone wasn't disappointed but it wasn't the usual happy tone of hers either. It wasn't like she didn't want to spend time with Ryder - hell, that's all she wanted to do for the rest of 2016! But knowing that she disappointed her best friend made everything feel a lot worse.

    To: Richie
Oh yeah! so so sorry about that ahhh u A u
Momma texted that we would have an
impromptu roadtrip for new year. We're
still out of town and I won't be back till
later sobs I'm so sorry I had to leave
    so suddenly!! :CCCC

She hit send and a small pang of guilt struck her. She never lied to Richie. It made her pout. She looked up at Ryder with her big, blue eyes and raised the phone closely to his face - showing the text she had just sent his younger brother. It was a futile attempt to make him pity her. "See! This. This was for you so you owe me one - no, make it two."

It sounded really childish and ridiculous and that kind of put her back in a happy mood. She kissed him on the cheek and then quickly got up. "Come on, we can cuddle all day after we've had some brunch."

It lifted both of their spirits and together they cooked. Well, to be more accurate.... while Elisa cooked and Ryder tried. Man, no wonder he never joined them when they made cute little pastries! That boy did not have cooking in his skill set. They were making very simple pancakes and he still messed up. The turquoise teen would giggle at him madly and Ryder would get pissed off but in a joking manner. She teased him a lot and that kind of lead to them making a complete mess in the kitchen. They were running around the counters, throwing pinches and sprinkles of the pancake mix at each other and at one point even two eggs and when the pancake mix was finally ready there was the famous tribal marks on their noses and cheeks.

Ryder, being the cool guy that he was, tried to kiss/lick the pancake mix on Elisa's cheek away but she could tell by his expression after that it was still starchy and dry and weird and Elisa erupted into a fit of laughter. This led to even more crazy antics and some playful kisses and inescapable embraces. Eventually they were able to eat breakfast. After cleaning the kitchen together, which took just as long as their brunch experience, they went back upstairs.

Since Ryder was incredibly insistent on not borrowing any clothing - be it Richie or hers - she gave him a damp towel to clean himself up while she got dressed and cleaned up in her bathroom. For the rest of the afternoon they stayed close together, snuggled up on the couch while they watched silly things on television.

Time seemed like it was jealous of the two of them because before long it was dark and Elisa's heart sank because she knew that he would have to leave. It would be too selfish of her to ask him to stay - even though she really wanted him to - but she fought hard. She didn't cry! Only whimpered.

"You should go. Your family should be worried on your whereabouts." she muttered while they stood outside the door. Ryder's car was still parked on the drive way and suddenly it felt like the entire time they had together never happened and she was just being dropped off. She really wanted him to stay.

She gave him a long embrace and kissed him. It was deep and magical, like when he first kissed her. When they broke apart, Ryder gave her one last peck on the lips and then he turned and got in the car. He gave her a wave and a small smile as he drove off and Elisa did the same but her heart felt empty.

She sulked back into the house, got some pajamas, took a shower and flopped onto her empty bed. It was like her sheets and pillows still had his scent. She hugged them and breathed in deeply. She missed his warm body beside his and how long has it been? A couple minutes? Man. She never knew this kind of thing could be so draining.

She lay down, trying to fall asleep but it proved to be much harder than she realized. She grabbed her phone and searched for his contact. It was tempting to call but instead she sent a message.

    To: Ryder
Good night. It's weird that you're
    not here :c

It was pretty childish but she hit send before she could erase anything. At least it didn't include what she was doing next because when she put her phone back on the desk she got on her knees and began stacking her pillows on one side. She had one for her head and two at her side, lying one after the other. She pulled the covers on top and then lay down. She put an arm around the pillows that served as her cuddle Ryder Duvont for now. She pouted. It still wasn't the same but nonetheless she closed her eyes and eventually went to bed.

After Tucker left, Erik did Erik things for the rest of the day -- including: finishing his composition. After cooking dinner, drinking beer, and watching a bunch of television, he eventually went to bed.

Ryder and Elisa did super happy kawaii fun time after she decided not to tell Richie about the two of them. After awhile she suggested he leave so that his family not get worried. He didn't want to go, but did so reluctantly. He was covered in pancake batter and changed his clothes after a shower. He really didn't want to shower and change because then he wouldn't smell like Elisa. He gave his dirty clothes along with his jacket one last sniff before throwing everything into the hamper. Later he made himself a sandwich, played some video games, and went to bed.

Maria, surprised by the fact that a paper airplane seemed to come out of nowhere, settled her eyes on the mound of pillows and blankets on the other hospital bed. She read over the motivational cheers and smiled, but it did not touch her ears. She listened to Julius and exchanged a few more words before heading home -- too tired to deal with Noëlle's soul - sucking aura. She attempted to straighten up her bedroom alone before going to sleep without eating anything again.

"Man you're right, School is quite the place to be. Might not realize it yet, but it's probably going to be the most fun of your life, granted it's not like I'm some old man who's seen the world an all, but ya know, it's just a feeling I got."

Estelle laughed, he didn't really realize he was kind of funny. He was right though, school was a great time of your life. But now she had to really live it, she had wasted all of her other years.

"Well Flower Girl, I'm going back to good old Fortissimo academy, best place on this fine planet..."

Estelle smiled. She was going to the same school. Awesome. Her smile was quickly wiped away.

"minus all the rumors about curses, and the crime rate, and the um...well ya know it's still like home to me."

Estelle shivered. 'Curses? Crime Rate?' She thought to herself. Were they talking about the same school? Surly he had been mistaken... she heard things about the school but she didn't think that a lot of people spread things like that around. 'Probably just to scare the newbies' She thought to herself. She tried to laugh it off, but just took a sip of her hot chocolate, now empty.

"Oh sorry Flower Girl, I gotta go get some cake. See ya later probably."

"Nice taking to you!" She called after him. That was possibly the oddest 'Goodbye' she had ever heard. She laughed, then returning back to the house. She was so tired from all the socializing, that she only say a quick 'Hi' to Nat before jumping into bed. This had been a very interesting day, and now she really couldn't wait till tomorrow.

    Text from Freya:

Richie, I need you to come over... right now. I did it. I gave it to Tucker and I feel like I'm going to be sick about it.

Well since Elisa was too busy doing whatever, Richie decided he would accept Freya's invitation. Besides, she seems like she really need someone to talk with, especially if it was about Tucker and what she did. He would be there soon enough, so the boy didn't text back. A moment later, a call from his mother came through, requesting that he help her with the groceries when she arrived home in a few minutes. The blonde sighed, annoyed. Mama Duvont's grocery shopping sprees also were huge and took at least forty-five minutes to bring inside and put everything away properly. / Sorry Freya, you'll have to wait a little while longer... /

The groceries took about an hour to complete, even more to Richie's demise. Hurriedly putting away the last of the groceries, the boy kissed Mama Duvont goodbye and speedwalked to his car. He slipped into the driver's seat and started the ignition, tuning the radio to his fave pop station. He drove off towards Freya's home speedily.

The blonde knocked on Freya's door, waiting for her to answer. He waited outside in the cold for a couple of minutes. Once the freezing weather chilled him to the bone, he turned the doorknob slightly, resulting in the door opening just a crack. He peered in, Freya was asleep on the couch. He shivered and shook uncontrolably. He usually didn't do something like this, but a mixture of the cold and his DPD that constantly gnawed at the back of his thoughts caused him
to enter her home. The couch was big enough for Richie to sit without bothering the sleeping girl. She didn't look like she was waking up anytime soon, so the blonde flipped on the teli and settled into the comfy couch.

"Uh... help yourself to anything in the kitchen. I'll be right back." The unexpected voice caused the boy to turn his head, just catching Freya leaving the couch and heading upstairs. He turned his attention back to the teli, becoming engrossed in it once more. Upon her return, the girl spoke softly, "S-sorry about that... I uh, I need to talk to you." He inspectes her up and down, examining her improved state. All he could do was crack a smile, which soon turned somber as he began to speak.

"Yeah? Was is it? Is it about Tucker...?" The boy looked worriedly at her.

"Yeah... I... I gave him the love potion."

    "Did... something happen?"

"At first... no, not that I knew about it, but he came over yesterday and... well... you kind of look like you already know what happened..."

"Did you two... uh... do anything? You know like..."

Freya blushed intensely. "N-no! Not really... I mean, we just sort of... spent the night together. Nothing more than that..."

"O-oh... good, good... I was just making sure. So then what's the problem? You seem... ashamed, almost." Richie paused. Did he say too much? "I... uh... I mean, do you feel... like guilty?"

"I... I do. Whenever I'm with him it's not as bad because... well, he makes me really happy... but I'm not sure, you know? I'm not sure if he's happy when he's with me... or if it's just that..." Richie cocked his head slightly. Freya seemed to be... distracted. almost like she was engaged in a whole other conversation.

"Well... there's not much you can do now Freya. What's done is done, and I don't think that there's a reversal for Cupid's Brew." She still seemed preoccupied. "Hey... you alright? I mean, I know you're not really but... you seem diengaged, like something's distracting you."

"I guess I'm just looking for... you know, someone to tell me what I did was right, but I don't know Richie. Maybe it's just nerves... maybe I'm just beating myself up when I should really be happy that he wants me as much as I want him... a-and I'm fine... I'm thinking is all..." Made sense. A lot was racing through her mind, of course she'd seem slightly distracted. Richie was sure he did too, as his thoughts wondered about what Elisa was doing right now. She took a breath, like she was going to continue, but she didn't know how to do it. Richie took advantage of this, and spoke up.

"I understand... but as much as I want you to feel better, I don't think lying is going to help you and I know you know that. Like I told you last time it was over, I don't agree with Cupid's Brew necessarily but... since you're feeling guilty, maybe you should try to surround yourself with him constantly so you don't feel as guilty... so you can finally be happy..."

Freya looked to him, finally continuing her train of thought. "But you... um, you seem like you've got something bothering you... I shouldn't be so selfish. Do you have something you want to talk about...?"

Richie was taken back by Freya's sudden interest in his dilemmas. Well, with the way this conversation was headed, He would want to detour it also. Though, it was sweet that she cared enough to ask. "O-oh... nothing's really bothering me... just that my best friend Elisa left me last night unexpectedly and I was worried. I still don't know where she is right now... but I want to be with her all the time, and I know that's selfish, but she's suddenly become obsessed with Ryder and I don't like it very much..." / I must seem like such a bad person... /

Freya nodded, tracking back to their previous conversation then continuing their current one. "I dunno if it'll last Richie. I know that when I'm with him everything feels okay... but I know the feeling is there, nagging at me little by little... and I think I'll eventually go crazy thinking about it." She paused, sighly deeply. "Oh... I'm sorry Richie... that sounds terrible... y... you said she's obsessed with him... like... all of a sudden?"

"Yeah... at first, I suspected Cupid's Brew but around each other, they seem so... awkward... and, and shouldn't the potion make the person head over heels in love with you?" Richie's eyes widened. Some thoughts he'd been trying so hard to supress bubbled up to the surface, gnawing at him.

"I... I dunno. Tucker was... um... I asked him to stay this morning, but he said he had other things to do. I don't know how it's supposed to work, but I know I'm not his entire world... at least not in an obsession sort of way..."

"But... but then that means..." One of those thought bubble finally popped, plastering the horrible idea all over his mind. "Uh... nothing... I'm sorry that things aren't going your way." Richie was very distraught, and Freya semmed to put two and two together. She wasn't dumb, after all.

"I... uh... I'm sorry Richie." The girl moved closer to him, scooting across the couch. She wrapped her arm around him, pulling him close. Was she trying to...? "Um..." Freya moved in awkwardly for a hug. Richie attempted to hug back, trying to make the best of... whatever this was.

"Uh... it's okay, thanks." He paused as Freya detatched. She seemed almost as relieved that thr hug had ended as he was. "Hey... um, is it okay if I stay over tonight? I don't really feel like going home... where / he'll / be there probably."

"Y-yeah, let me get a pillow and some blankets. You can crash on the couch."

"Uh... thanks again..." He managed a smile as she got up and exited the living room. Freya was letting him stay over... he should do something nice for her. Aha! The boy left the couch and headed into the kitchen. He was going to whip up something nice.

After the two ate, which lifted their morale quite a bit, and watched some teli together, Freya headed into the kitchen, taking the dishes along with her. Once she finished, she waved him goodbye as she passed by and left for upstairs after saying good night and happy new year. Richie returned the formality with a genuine smile as he set up his sleeping quarters. His phone buzzed on the coffee table in front of him. It was probably Elisa... should he look at it? She was probably with him right now, but it wasn't her fault. It was... / his /. He had no reason to be upset with her.

Julius tried his best to lighten the mood and even though his words may have not been as effective as he had hoped they would be, he still conversed with Torvald and Maria. They spoke and soon eventually both parted way leaving the man with Fatime as usual. With a sigh, Julius rose his body and let out a sigh, "Its time I show them Im ready to get the hell out of here" Julius muttered as he staggered his way out of the room.

Time moved on and soon enough Julius returned back to his room and let out a groan as he collapsed on his bed once more "Welp tomorrow I'm getting out of here...man I'm tired, I'll talk to you tomorrow Fatime. Wake me up if you need anything" Julius said with a smile as he closed his eyes and calmly drifted off to sleep. He was excited to get out of the hospital, but he knew that only despair awaited him out there.

The taxi ride back to his hotel seemed far longer than it really felt for Jonathan and as he sat there he began to think back. He thought back to the past, and he connected it with the future. It was so long ago and so hard to think back to that long ago, so he tried his best. He wanted to remember that feeling in order to be able to help Noelle. He just didn't want to be an ignorant child. Tomorrow was the funeral and he wondered if Noelle was ready for it. Entering his room he collapsed on his bed without even changing his clothes and drifted off to sleep.

After a long day of helping Estelle's family at the shop in return for all the hospitality they had given her, Nat sat in her room, reading a book. Suddenly, Estelle came back and gave her a "hi" before jumping into bed and sleeping. Realizing the time, Natalie followed suit and fell asleep on the very bed she sat reading.

Freya's conversation with Richie didn't do much to ease her mind, she knew he was doing his best to comfort her, but she could tell that he was distracted with his own problem. She knew that there was a good chance that Elisa was under the spell of Cupid's Brew, and she saw how terrible it was making things for Richie...were her actions causing this much pain for someone else? She had never considered the idea, but seeing Richie in such a state, she realized that the other end of this potion could be a harsh punishment for other people in the recipient's life. Y-yeah, let me get a pillow and some blankets. You can crash on the couch.

She headed upstairs to get the bedding for Richie. On her way back down, passing a mirror in the hall she thought she caught a glimpse of something, out of the corner of her eye. However, there was nothing there when she turned to look. As unsettled as she already was, Freya hurried back down the stairs. Making her way back into the living room to drop off the bedding, she noticed a wonderful smell coming from the kitchen. It seemed as though Richie was already hard at work preparing dinner. The two ate in almost complete silence, both contemplating their problems as the TV droned in the background. About midway through the meal, her mobile went off.

    1 NEW MESSAGE
    From: Tucker

Good night : ). Hope you've had a good day.

Her heart fluttered for a second, and Richie could tell she was texting with Tucker from the way she blushed and seemed to fumble through typing up her reply.
    COMPOSE NEW MESSAGE

    To: Tucker
Thank you, Tucker..I'm having a wonderful day, thanks to you...I miss you already and hope to see you tomorrow...you're always welcome to stay with me...if you want...good night.

Freya and Richie both finished their meals. She grabbed the dishes and headed to the kitchen to clean up. After taking care of everything, she tossed Richie a quick goodnight before heading upstairs, quickly speeding past the mirror in the hall, making sure to look away. She readied herself and got into bed, thinking of all the things that happened over the past few days, it all seemed like such a blur, and she drifted off to sleep, her mind full of worry, doubt, fear, and guilt.

He gasped out when he woke, rising from the bed sheets that tangled over his body like chains. His chest was rising and falling quickly. The ends of his hair was a little damp. His throat felt scratchy and his skin was in cold sweat. He stared at the dimly lit wall ahead of him. Well, at least it was morning and he didn't have to go to bed again.

He groaned, pulling his long legs up to his chest and hugging them close to his body. He places his forehead to his knees and shut his eyes tightly. His breathing was shaky and his lips were incredibly dry. It hurt when he licked them. God... He hadn't had that much of a horrid dream in a while.

He ran a hand through his cherry hair as he straightened up. God he had to stop thinking about it. Okay. No more thoughts. He immediately grabbed his phone when he noticed a message blinking.

    From: Freya
    To: Tucker
Thank you, Tucker..I'm having a wonderful day, thanks to you...I miss you already and hope to see you tomorrow...you're always welcome to stay with me...if you want...good night.

He smiled a bit. That was a good idea. He would go over to her now and stay in the safety of her company forever. God. His mind wouldn't shut up. Oh god, there was the funeral today and he knew he would hate himself eternally if he didn't go. Perhaps he'll ask Freya to accompany him. He figured he wouldn't be able to handle it alone and he didn't really want to go to Erik or Maria or anyone else who might be there for company anyway.

He began typing up a text and then quickly erased it. Perhaps he should surprise her. Part of him still feared she would leave him like in his dream. God, that could really happen. He needed to do something really sweet and not so ordinary! something unexpected! Like... Buy something nice like breakfast or flowers or something! Flowers and coffee seemed like a good mix! Alright. Okay. It was settled.

He quickly got up and walked over to his closet for something decent and funeral appropriate to wear. He pulled out the outfit and carried them into the bathroom. He undressed. He caught a glimpse of himself in the bathroom and felt like he was going to vomit. He saw the scars on his body and knew he could never show them to Freya. She would be so disgusted and she would leave him.

Ah! No! No more thoughts! Stop!

He quickly got into the shower and bathed then got dressed. Once he was ready he went down to his car and then drove off. The entire time he ran his errands he told himself over and over the things he needed to do in attempt to block out everything that was horrible. He was able to stop by the 24/7 market and buy a little bouquet of flowers and then stopped by the cafe for coffee for the both of them. He hoped he got something that she liked.

He successfully made it without his mind going completely berserk and even calmed down a bit - note: a bit. He flipped his hair, making sure it stayed relatively neat and gripped the flowers in his hand while holding the bag of coffee int he other. He rang the doorbell and then waited outside patiently. He hoped she'd answer quickly. He didn't really know what else to preoccupy his mind with while he stood outside in the cold all alone.

    Evan Allen Walker:
    {~~~Day 13(1/4)~~~January 2nd, 2016, Saturday~~~Location: Evan's Place/Funeral~~~Mood: Funeral Time~~~Music~~~Ooc:~~~}

Evan woke up today ready to try and get this day over with. He had been informed that today was the day that the holding of the funeral for Sophie, Bryan, and Lucas was taking place. He didn't exactly have the largest of desires to go to a ceremony that commemorates the dead, since he was all about living, but he still felt morally obligated to, them being Fortissimo kids an all. So, no matter how reluctant he may be, Evan got out of bed to get ready for a good day of dead people parties. Evan wasn't usually one to care about what people thought of his attire but after an incident where people started severely disliking him for showing up to one in tie-dye, he would have to make an effort to at least try and look official for the event. As such he hopped into the shower and actually used a comb to fix his hair afterwards. Getting out his black dress shirt and black dress pants, he sighed as he saw himself in the mirror. He hated black. It was such a simple an unvibrant color that only looked good with white, which only looked good with black.

Part of him thought of just ditching this whole thing and trying to hang with his one of his buds or something, but they would all probably be going as well, so maybe after the whole funeral thing he'd try. Another thing he was curious about was the status of Cherry Red and Little Vixen. He hadn't been able to keep as much tabs on it as he would've liked to what with helping Ria out, but he still didn't mind that entire situation going down. Now that she was better he could probably try and find out more on that little scenario. Picking up his phone he simply texted

Really he didn't think he'd get much more than a slightly annoyed retort from her, but it was all he'd do for now. Later he might do more but for now he had another important task to attend to. That all important task was to get someone out of their bed and dragging them to the funeral, simply because he most of all would need to come to terms with this.

Evan, while not always being in a serious mood, did had a neutral expression on his face as he drove along the road, surprisingly not like some deranged man. This was one of those those times where whilst driving he lamented over how much it displeased him. The gas was nothing but awful smelling, the air in the car was all filtered, he was always looking out a lense of sorts, and the wheels weren't planted to his feet. While probably one of the more convenient creations of humankind, Evan still thought it was one of the worst. Regardless of his own complaints against the machine he was using he eventually made it to his destination.

Evan walked out of the car and went up the stairs to the apartment door. Knocking on it he waited for a few minutes with nothing but silence to keep him company. He figured this would happen. Good thing he had a key to this place. Evan unlocked the door and walked in to see his Little Baker Bro just sitting on the computer. "Yo. Little Baker Bro, it's time we go. I know you know what today is."

He continued to sit there doing not much at all until he slowly turned his head to show Evan his terrified visage. "I don't want to, now go."

Evan sighed and said to him, "yo, Dennis, you got to go to this thing. It's the only way you'll ever be able to get out of this room and get on with your life is you do this. So come on, I ain't taking no for an answer."Reluctantly Little Baker Bro eventually got out of his seat and continued to stare at Evan, at which point Evan gave a reassuring smile. After that was done with and Little Baker Bro got dressed in an event worthy attire the two went back to the car and went on their way to the funeral. Eventually the two got there and took a seat in a back.

Cel looked outside one of the windows in her small, otherwise empty house on what she thought had to be the quietest street she had ever lived on. She had moved here, only a month earlier. She was supposed to go to a music school, but since she had moved late she had to wait till after the break was over. Days were boring here in the Callegari house. She had her own place, so was all alone from day in and day out.
She was living off her Great Grand Mothers money, which was fine with her mother, as long as she would leave the house, but didn't want to over use her new found wealth. She figured she would only get what she needed and save the rest for a rainy day. The people in the neighborhood, were mostly old, not wanting to talk to her. She wasn't exactly the nicest person, but she knew that.
Still hour by hour, watching TV and making videos of her playing music for the internet, was not something she wanted to do forever. As much as she hated to admit it she really wanted a real person to talk too. Being like, and somewhat famous on the net was one thing, but having real friends, was something different in it's self. She looked at the clock. She was going to head to a funeral today.
Although not knowing those who died, she wanted to pay her respects, since she was going to go to that school once it started back up. She explained that to her mother, talking to her earlier over the phone from Japan, where they had lived for a few years. She went to a music school there, but she was born in Britain. Because of her cruel and Ill-Humored jokes she normally made, Her mother had been surprised, that she was going. She had just rolled her eyes. She didn't know her at all.
She went up stairs to her room, staring at the closet until she could figure out what it was she wanted to wear. She found a Gothic Style Dress in her closet. She liked that kind of style, and wore it often. She took a pair of shoes and then hurried down the stairs, nearly falling.
She put her shoes on and looked for her keys, but then remembering she had to feed the snake, which was named Nagini. Nagini and her talked, well.. she talked to it. Of course it never talked back. But she was very close to her childhood friend, raising from an egg at the age of 13.
As she drove, she realize that this was potentially a very very bad idea. She had a feeling she would already feel unwanted there, since she didn't really know who had died, or met them. She also had a feeling that she wouldn't be able to blend in, even if she hadn't worn her normal clothing, her bright pink hair probably would've given away the fact that she had never been to the school. You wouldn't forget someone who looked like she did. She blew it off. If anyone tried to mess with her... She laughed. Not that they would try, after she had talked to them anyway. She pulled up at the funeral home, and decided it might be better to wait outside for a short while. She needed some fresh air anyway.
Cel, didn't really go out of the house, unless she needed to by food. Sometimes she would stay for days, once even 3 weeks. Even as a child she found she liked it better in doors, because the sun burned her soft light skin, even in the winter time. She did like going out on walks, in the forest where the sun was hidden by trees. She also liked being out in the rain, since the sun was gone there as well. Lighting was something she was always fond of, even though other children found it scary, she liked it a lot.
She stood outside the doors, leaning on the wall beside them. She didn't want to go inside yet, in case it wasn't alright for her to do so. She would just wait until someone else came. She popped a stick of gum in mouth so she wouldn't get tired, then putting her headphones on, waiting for an all clear.

Seraphina woke up, but wanted to sleep again. Her dreams had been soooo good. She didn't want them to end. She raised out of bed, wanting to lie back down. She walked over to the bathroom, and took a quick bath, then going to the Dressing Room. She put on a ton of outfits, she needed something just, prefect for today. She finally found something and she smiled. Breakfast, was oddly quiet this morning. Even though the family was back in the house, no one said a weird. Her mother looked very cross, as did her father. Her sister didn't pay attention and went to go eat breakfast in here room. She looked up at them, her mother looked at her clothes, disapprovingly. Her father, who bit his hand by mistake finishing a piece of toast, looked stunned. She was going to ask what the fuss was about, but she was interrupted by her mother's voice, stern and upset. "I don't supposed, you will be wearing that out today, Seraphina?" She asked her in her thick British accent, then turning to look at her father.

"Seraphina, what is this about a boy, staying over the night for the past few days?" Her father asked, his thick french accent kicking in. He sounded calm, but his face was a dark red, filled with anger. "He's just a-" Seraphina tried to explain, but she was cut off. "Don't give us that Seraphina. You're much to young to be having boys over to stay the night." Her mother snapped at her. "Is he even rich? All the staff workers stay he's a normal, everyday boy. You're someone of great wealth, Dear, and you should be looking for Lords, Dukes, Princes even. How dare you waste your beauty on someone like that, someone so plain. He's just common folk. Why don't you just tell him it isn't going to work out, and we'll find someone wonderful dearest. Not someone of the normal class."

Seraphina, felt a strong anger burn in side her. Before her mother could finished, Seraphina, now angrier then ever stood up, slamming her hands onto the table. "Don't say anymore!" She snapped. "You don't know him!" She looked at both of them, her eyes filled with fire, and her parents looking slightly afraid. Seraphina was not one to get angry. "How dare you!? How dare you talk about Shane that way?!" Seraphina screamed at them.
"We don't want that boy around here anymore do you hear me Seraphina. Not one more word-" Her mother yelled at her, but Seraphina was louder, all the pent up anger and hatred she had covered up for so many years exploded.
"I will have over whom ever I please." She snapped. "I don't care if you don't like it, you don't know him! You have barely been around for me for the most important days of my life. You've ignored me, hired Nannies and tutors and all these people do raise me because you couldn't do it yourself." She yelled.
"You don't know who he is, you barely know who I am, I don't care, about if his money, or if he's someone of high ranks. I don't want to hear it, you can't judge someone when you haven't gotten to known them. Shane is sweet, funny, and he's very important to me. And after all you've done you're not going to take him away from me." She told them. Her Mother, looked like she was going to break down and cry, where as her father, still just looked angry. She went up to her room, and stayed there, trying not to think about it. Soon, Lily came into her room. "Miss, Your parents have left for their next trip. 6 months. They have left me in charge, and you must know I have to enforce their wishes." She explained. "But, I'm not going to this time, because they speak falsely." Lily gave her a warm smile, turned away and then left, closing the door. Seraphina smiled, but her heart still felt heavy. Her parents, just didn't care. But she wouldn't let that bother her. She sent a text off to Shane.
    To: Shane
    From: Sera
Good Morning, I really hope you come to see me later. : )
She sighed. At least she had something to look forward to today. She made her way to the Garden, telling Lily that if Shane made his way here, to direct him to one of the other places that only She and Seraphina knew about. There was a path then lead out of the garden, but it looked like it had left off to a dead end. Moving the thick vines hanging from what looked like to be part of the stone wall around Seraphina's house, was a place she had all to herself. It was almost like, a secret garden. She found it, in one of the journals left by the people who lived her before. She sat down near the water looking at her reflection for a few minutes, and then looking over to the water fall, which had secrets of it's own. She smiled, watching as a few birds flew from tree to tree. She lied back on the nice warm glass, sun shining on her soft fair skin. She smiled, seeing herself faintly blush..

Estelle woke up, she looked around her room. "Raise and Shine Nat." She said to her, but all she could think about was last night? Was it all a dream. She looked at her phone. No added contact. But she didn't get his number she only gave him hers. She sighed. Maybe it was all a dream. She didn't really have anything to prove what happened yesterday happened. Or did she? She went over to her desk, and taking out her note book. Her drawing was there, and so was the piece of paper she ripped.
She smiled. She couldn't believe that she had a real conversation with someone, let alone a boy, a normal conversation every conversation. She went into her bathroom, washing her face and putting on a new set of clothes. She tied her hair back, and then headed to the store level. She sat at the desk, waiting for Nat to wake up. She looked around the room. It was dead silent. She looked around for her sisters, but none were home. She even went up and down the stairs, over and over and over, where had everyone gone?

She sighed, playing with her thumbs at the desk. She had nothing better to do. The store wouldn't be open for another hour at least. She decided it would be ok to open early. As she wondered around the shop, picking up and moving plants and flowers. She wondered why the day seemed to be lagging on. She also couldn't help but wonder where all of the family would be.
"Maybe they went out for school stuff." Estelle said to herself, putting a small pot of roses on her desk. There had been a lot of orders the past few days, because of the car accident that had happened a few days ago. Estelle sighed. She would go to the ceremony today, but she didn't know them personally, and she thought it might be good if friends and family just went to mourn. Plus, now we no one running the shop, she didn't have any time. She looked outside of the window, wondering if they had gone for breakfast too.
She guessed it was her fault for sleeping in so late. But she was just drained of energy. She wondered if Evan was a close friend of the people who had died. She never made the connection. She wondered if he was there, trying to cheer everyone up after the service, saying that whoever it was, would rather celebrate the life they had then mourn the loss.
That's how he seemed to be, finding brighter sides of things. She put her elbow on the table, automatically drawing a rose on the page. She wondered if Nat was awake yet. She wanted to tell her about all the fun stuff that happened yesterday with Evan. She didn't want to, however, because she figured that Nat would feel left out. She also wondered if Nat knew the people who had died from the school. "It's probably best not to bring it up." Estelle muttered to herself, filling out some order forms. As she waited for someone to come through the door or down the stairs, she stared out the window, aimlessly, as if trying to call someone in the room with her mind.

Her whole body was tired. Her head was throbbing and she felt sick. Pierce rolled over to the edge of her bed and threw up into the readily available trash can. After finding her on the floor downstairs, her mother was forcing her to sober up -- it wasn't going so well. She was actually starting to get used to being drunk twenty-four/seven. She knew now why people become alcoholics -- depression. She didn't want to do anything aside from drink and sleep -- no food, no company, no life. This was so much easier. Her mother made sure to do a thorough sweep of the house for any bottles of booze, along with the mouthwash, before she left for her shift at the Hospital. Funeral is today. Her mother informed her. She told her that she would do her best to make it before the end of the service. Pierce didn't want to go. She couldn't say goodbye like that. Saying goodbye to her father was hard enough.

Sobs wracked her body. She pulled her bare legs close to her chest and curled into a ball on the sheets. She couldn't do this -- the funeral, being sober, people, any of it. What was the point? Why did anyone ever bother to get out of bed for funerals? It would only make them feel worse, not better. She didn't want to go. She didn't want to put on clothes and face people and walk up to that casket to see her best friend and watch said casket be lowered into the ground. It's not fair!

What was she supposed to do now? Sophie was the first person to give her a chance. Would she go back to being constantly picked on now? Sophie was the only reason it ever stopped. No one wanted to mess with her. Sophie built a safety bubble around her. The only person that ever hurt Pierce was Sophie and she never said or did anything that was too mean. It was meant to be all in good fun. Up until recently, she had even believed that. No! She wasn't allowed to think like that. Sophie had helped her so much, more than Pierce could ever repay her for. Now - now she had no physical way of repaying her. Sophie is dead. Dear God!

Every time she said it out loud, it felt less and less real. This was all just some horrible nightmare or a bad joke. Sophie would jump out any minute and be all, "I can't believe you fell for that!" and laugh. Any time now. Her chocolate brown eyes shifted from hiding place to hiding place. Any time now.

She started sobbing again. Her hands clutched the picture firmly to her chest and the pillows billowed around her head. She buried herself in the sanctuary of her bed. This was too much. She was all alone again. Even Oliver wouldn't be any help, if he was even still talking to her -- she doubted the likelihood in that. Pierce pulled the covers over her head and yawned from the tears. Why did crying make people sleepy? Could she just go to sleep and never wake up?

Her eyes drifted to the bottle of antidepressants her mother brought home from the nightstand, just sitting there aimlessly. She didn't want to take medicine, but what else was there for her? Pierce reached for the bottle and took out too -- it only required one per time frame, but she was still too intoxicated to care. Could she make it through the funeral? It felt like her insides had gone through a meat grinder.
She clenched her fists tightly against her side. There were only two other times she had ever been to a funeral. The most recent was a little over two years ago when all those people died. They held a memorial service for everyone that lost their lives during the fire, ferry, and the events in Lightwood/Bentley/Tilapok fiasco. The other funeral was for her father when she was twelve. That had been devastating. As she looked on the faces of the families that lost one of their children, she couldn't help but be reminded by her father's funeral. The major difference was that it was a military funeral. There were lots of men in uniform and they held guns up as his casket was carried. He had been buried in a military plot and there was a spot next to his where her mother would someday be.

There was a stabbing pain in her chest as she thought about that. Pierce stumbled to a seat in the middle. Her brown eyes grazed over the room. She could see Chambers and even the Bennetts. Sophie's parents were rarely home, but here they were at their daughter's funeral. They were both crying over her, but they had their best stoney expressions on. Oliver was here. He looked like a mess. Pierce wondered about him, but didn't dare say anything. She didn't want to talk to anyone. She just wanted to get this over and done with. Her jacket was slung over the back of the chair and her knees knocked together as she trembled in the chair. She glanced around before returning her attention to the front of the room. She should walk up there but her legs didn't seem to be working. She wasn't exactly friends with any of them other than Sophie. Sophie and Bryan had gone through all those trouble with them two and a half years ago. Lucas had not, but it didn't make his death any less sad. They had gone through so much together. After what happened, they shouldn't have to deal with it again. If she went up there, she would probably break down. Pierce didn't want to break down, again.

She was already breaking down. Just being here was causing tears to stream down her face. She hoped her mom would make it soon. Sitting by herself at a funeral made her appear even more socially awkward. This was terrible. Pierce wanted to disappear. She pulled her legs up onto the seat and curled up to cry into herself. Everyone else had someone to lean on or comfort them. She had no one. Even without going to the front, she could feel her lip trembling. She glanced over at Oliver again and then pulled out her phone. This place was awful. It screamed death. Dead things were creepy and scary. It was almost as terrifying as walking around in the dark. Or camp on Scavenger Hunt nigh--nope! She hadn't gone back to camp after that. While everyone else had managed to keep going, she refused. It was summers spent being lonely and isolated in her bedroom. That was probably the longest time she went without seeing Sophie, who was basically her only friend.

Now, she really was all alone. Pierce had never felt so completely alone before. Never. This life was meaningless ...

There was a hand on her shoulder and thought it was Ryder and a smile curled on her lips before she even opened her eyes. She released her tight grip on the pillow beside her and rolled over, slowly opening her eyes.

    "Good morning, darling."

She must have been getting delusional because for a second she could even hear his voice but he wasn't there. He had left yesterday. Her prince wasn't in her castle. The turquoise teen looked up at her mother and gave her a faint smile. It wasn't that she didn't want to see her mom in the morning, it was just upsetting to remember Ryder wasn't around anymore. "Good morning, mom."

Her mother's expression looked rather sad. Her long fingers tucked a clump of her turquoise hair behind her ear, "Hon, I have to go to work very soon and I don't know how else to tell you this. I'm so sorry I had to start your morning with such horrid news especially since I wasn't able to tell you any earlier..."

Elisa's face grew of absolute worry. Her eyebrows furrowed and she immediately pushed herself up to sit properly. Her mind was still a little too sleepy to actually understand what she was trying to say but she definitely knew it wasn't going to be good.

Her mother placed her hand on top of her own and gave it a little squeeze. "A couple days ago, you were out with Richie, there was a horrible crash. Some people died."

She sighed a small sigh of relief in her mind. For the slightest second her heart had skipped a beat earlier because she feared that it had something to do with Ryder. She couldn't help it. If anything had happened to him, and to Richie, she would have died. It was a completely terrifying thought - but it was out of the way now. Thank goodness. Besides, if it did have something to do with the Duvonts she was sure that her mother wouldn't even bother to go to work and would probably be choking with sobs.

"... They were from your school. Your friends. Sophie and someone names Lucas and... and Bryan. Bryan Chambers. I'm sorry, hon." she frowned and pulled her into a hug.

Her heart sank a bit. She hugged her mother back and she felt tears well in her eyes. She couldn't help it. Those were her friends. Her mother pulled away and gave her details on the funeral then kissed her on the forehead and left.

Elisa quickly grabbed her phone and phoned up Ryder but he didn't pick up and then she cried on her own for a moment. She couldn't believe she didn't know. It felt like it wasn't fair that she was having such a wonderful time with Ryder and then her friends lost their lives. Oh, god, it was terrible. It wasn't fair! Sophie was a very sweet, okay not so much but she was great company, and very talented. Lucas was very nice during the party and he seemed like a very nice person. Bryan. Oh god. Bryan was one of her camp counselors! He was very sweet and always happy and was wonderful to be around. Not to mention he was also someone Richie really liked. Like, really liked! Oh dear. Did Richie know?

She bit her lip. She should call him. Oh but how on earth could she tell him? To hear that one of the boys he liked was dead? She didn't know how that felt but... but she was sure it was horrible! Even the thought of Ryder being in some kind of trouble made her want to cry. Uhhh.... so, did he know? PRobably not. Richie would have called sobbing but how could she tell him?

    To: Richie
    Hey babe are you okay ; ~~~~~ ;
Please contact me. I want to know
you're alright sobs And are you going
to be able to go to the funeral later?

She hit send before she could erase anything. It was much better than nothing. She set her phone down for a moment and then looked at the pillows next to her. Ryder. Oh god. She needed him right now. She suddenly just wanted to be with him and she knew he was okay but she just wanted him at her side again. She wanted to hug him. She wanted to kiss him. She wanted him. She needed him.

He was probably still asleep so she sent him a text before she hopped into the shower to get ready for the funeral.

    To: Ryder
Ry have you heard about the funeral?
:c I think we should go. I don't know if
Richie is going but please come with me
I just want to be with you right now

Freya woke up from a dreamless sleep. She checked her phone to see if Tucker had tried to contact her at all...nothing. She tried to pretend she was alright with that, but she was really worried that something had happened to him. There was, however, a text from Evan.

Ryder had been in the shower when his phone went off, so when he came back out and saw the missed call, he was a little surprised. He checked it, seeing that Elisa had called. There was a flutter of excitement in him as he stood in front of his closet in only a towel. He would call her back after he got dressed. There was a beep a minute later and he eyed it. Well, it couldn't hurt to check and see what was up. He picked up his phone, water dripping down from the tips of his hair. A new message from you guessed it. The corners of his mouth turned up into a smile as he unlocked the screen and opened the message.
    From: Elisa
Ry have you heard about the funeral?
:c I think we should go. I don't know if
Richie is going but please come with me
I just want to be with you right now

Welp, that decided that. He had heard about the funeral. It was all over the news this morning. Originally, Ryder did not plan to attend. He didn't feel right going. They weren't his friends so he would just be one of those people looking for attention by going to a funeral they didn't belong to. However, these were in fact Elisa's friends. Of course she would want to go and the fact that she wanted him to go with meant that he was now obligated. He sighed heavily and typed up a quick response.

    To: Elisa
    sure. lemme just get dressed.
i'll b over soon. we can def go
2gether. chin up til i get there.

He wondered how she was managing as he got dressed quickly. Ryder needed something nice to wear and it took him longer than usual to get ready. This was unfortunate since all he wanted to do was leave. He spritzed on just a little bit of that cologne he wore for their date and rushed out the front door in the Letterman's jacket Elisa got him for his birthday. He didn't bother to send her a message saying he was headed there. He told her he would be coming soon and that seemed good enough. The drive took far too long in his opinion -- it actually took no longer than usual -- even though traffic was light and the roads were relatively ice free.

As he pulled his car into her driveway, he swallowed nervously. Were things still going to be as they were when he left yesterday, or would they suddenly have gone back to the way they were predate? He wasn't sure and it terrified him a little. Ryder took a deep breath. She said she wanted to be with him. That should be a clear enough sign. With that, he shut off the car and stepped out. The winter air was cold and hit him like a ton of bricks. He walked swiftly to her front door and knocked twice. After a minute it opened and he gave her a sheepish smile and a half wave. Elisa looked pretty broken up. There were clear signs on her face that she had been crying. This would not do.

Ryder quickly pulled her into this arms, struggling as if he could not grab onto her fast enough. He pressed her face firmly into his chest and wrapped his arms around her. His left hand stroked the back of her turquoise hair while his right remained at the small of her back. He kissed the top of her head lightly and just stood there like that for longer than he could remember. He hadn't even managed to get his shoes off. There was a good few hours before the funeral. He would need to do something to make her feel better.
Ryder kept a protective arm around Elisa's shoulders. They walked into the funeral home together and he didn't care if anyone saw them. He really didn't want to keep it a secret, he just didn't want to deal with Richie was all. He would surely be here. Whatever. Richie will just have to learn to deal with it. Ryder and Elisa have something going on and there is nothing he can do about it. Tough luck to him.

He took a program from one of the ushers and directed Elisa to an open pair of chairs for them to sit in. He just wanted to take a seat for a few minutes, then when she is feeling more up to it, he will walk with her to the front. His blue - eyed gaze read over the pamphlet. He really didn't want to be here, but Elisa did. He wasn't comfortable being around so many crying people clinging on one another. He didn't even like being around his family when someone was upset. Ryder doesn't do well around this whole touchy - feely sadness thing. To be quite honest, it was taking a great deal of effort to openly reflect his feelings in front of Elisa the way it was. At least she made it easy. Being around her made him want to express himself, at least a little bit. He enjoyed trying to cheer her up this morning. He did what he could, if even to no avail. He tried though. That's what counted, right?

Ryder pulled her into his side and kissed her atop her beautiful blue head. Hopefully this would start soon. The sheer fact that they had to attend a funeral the day before school restarted only made things worse. He was getting a bad feeling about this spring semester. He wasn't one to be superstitious, Ryder just felt like this might be some sort of karmic sign or something. He really hoped not, but one could not help but wonder.

Not too long after waking and getting dressed, Shane left his home and headed towards the flower shop. He figured that he might as well do something for her and getting flowers was the first thing that came to mind. Sure she hand that giant garden that she'd showed him, but there was no way he could do something to match or beat that.

No sooner then when he'd walked into the to shop, he hear his phone beeped. Further investigation showed that it was a message from Seraphina.

    To: Shane
    From: Sera
Good Morning, I really hope you come to see me later. : )

    To: Seraphina
    From: Shane
Message: Sure, just let me pick up something.

Once the message was sent, he started to look around at some of the flowers. Since he wanted this to be a surprise, he couldn't just ask her what kind of flowers that she'd liked though he was pretty sure that the garden was the biggest hint he could've gotten to help him in his endeavors.

Natalie woke up to Estelle's voice. Oh... Natalie was seventeen years-old now! She quickly hopped out of bed and looked at Estelle excitedly. "Estelle! I'm 17! I'm 17!" Then a thought daunted on her. The funeral was on her birthday.

    Oh...

    Well...

That was a rain on her parade. Eh, it was separate anyway. She'd just be quiet and let it go. No one besides her family (and now Estelle) knew her birthday was today. But there was too much to do because of all that had happened with the crash, so it looked like there wouldn't be much for her to do for her birthday. She could wait, there were more pressing matter right now.

    "Nevermind..." She said to Estelle.

Estelle the sound of the door, and automatically tripped over herself. She popped back up from behind the desk. "Hello, lucky customer number 1." She said, brushing herself off. It had been a while since she had worked with customers, since her sisters had been running the shop the past week or so. She looked over at him, Dark hair, slender, and a look in his blue eyes like he was going on a mission. She smiled at him, trying to look friendly.
"Sorry I'm not good at this, I don't normally work with the customers, I just coward off behind the desk." She laughed. "Anyway, it looks like you're looking for something. Sooo is there something I could get you?" She asked. "We have our Christmas flowers out on the desk still, if you want to take a look at them." She told him, going back behind the desk.

"We have Our Christmas Roses, Amber Roses, and of course, Mistletoe." Estelle explained to him, showing him all of the various flowers. "Of course we have more, if these aren't to your liking, but I can tell you're buying for a special someone today, so these should be the right choices." Estelle smiled.
Telling by his nervous, and his over all expression, she guessed it had to be for someone important to him. That and she was guessing, she really just said that to everyone. That's what most people did this time of year, even though it was almost over.

Dressing in much more casual clothing felt quite wondrous. Being able to finally place on his usual clothing told him even more that his freedom had been achieved and he can finally get the hell out of there. His cravat being adjusted and his jacket being placed over his shoulders, Julius stood up and stretched with a relieved sigh. True the very action caused him pain, but it was a good pain.

Freedom was amazing, but it was a bittersweet freedom in which he had to face off with despair. It was time to say goodbye, time for him to head to the funeral of those that did not deserve such a fate at such a young age. He could only sigh really, but he needed to stay strong, he needed to be prepared for the worst and stay strong. He had to be just like that time at Bentley, he needed to hide his emotions...for the sake of those that were truly affected.

With the cane that was provided to him, Julius merely walked on towards the girl that had kept him company for the many days that he resided in the hospital. "Fatime...its time...are you ready to leave?" Julius said calmly to the girl. Was the girl ready to see her brother? it was hard for him to tell, but he was ready to help her in any way he could...both her and Noelle....
