Freya arrived home just as a text from Tucker came buzzing through to her phone.

    1 NEW MESSAGE
    From: Tucker
    To: Freya
Hey, don't apologize at all! It's my fault, I'm sorry for acting like I did. I just didn't really know what to say… um, I hope you're alright though! I'm absolutely fine, please don't worry. We should meet up again and talk soon : ).

Her heart skipped a beat. Tucker was okay, and not only that, he wanted to meet with her. Tucker was never one to engage in any sort of activity with Freya, this was a good sign. Ì ̛to̵̶̧l̨d͝ ͜͠y̴̡͠o̕͟u̶͠҉, ̴̴y͠o̷u͠ ͠͏c͏̢a̵ǹ̀ t҉͟r̶͟͝u̕st̢ ͘͟m̴̕͡e͟
    COMPOSE NEW MESSAGE
    From: Freya
    To: Tucker
Sure, how is tomorrow night? My place?...I'll make you dinner.

She sent off the message, her heart pounding. Was this really happening? She could hardly contain herself. For the first time in a very long while, Freya smiled and couldn't stop. From the moment she sent the message, until she crawled into bed and fell asleep, Freya's happiness refused to quit. Things were going her way. S͝w̷̛҉e̵͟e̢t̴̢͞ ͏dr̨e͟a̷̷m҉͢s̀

Even tossed his can of Mountain Dew into the nearby trashcan. Maria sipped at her coffee silently while he did so. She had only planned to tell Tucker, but that was just out the window now. "Well then, I guess it's settled. You can stay at my place till this whole thing blows over. And don't even worry about any jumpers. They won't want any part of this." He pointed to himself. Her eyes widened in disbelief. She had not been expecting that sort of invitation.

Maria parted her lips to protest. "Evan --"

"Now usually I'd say wait here and wait for me to get my car here, buuuut I've been told I'm not the safest of drivers and it's blizzarding outside. So since that means we'd have to walk to my place," Evan then took off his hoodie, leaving him with only his t-shirt underneath to cover his upper body, "you can use this." He held his snowed on hoodie out to Maria.

She stared at it for a moment and then shifted her blue - eyed gaze to him. "Evan. I can't take your sweatshirt. You'll freeze."

    He insisted.

Reluctantly, she slipped the hoodie on over her head. It was warm and smelled like him. Her clothing underneath was still soaked, but it was still comforting regardless. Maria finished her coffee before tossing it in the trash as well and leaving the gas station with Evan. They walked in the freezing weather and Maria wrapped her arms around one of Evan's as he lead the way. He forced some chatter out of her, clearly trying to lift her spirits, but her responses were subpar at best. When they finally made it back to his place, they were both definitely freezing and soaking wet. Maria slipped out of her squishy wet shoes and Evan gave her some pajamas to wear. They were big on her, hanging loosely, but dry and comfortable. She smiled and replied with a thank you as she settled in on the couch. "Thanks again Evan," she told him. Maria pulled her damp hair to the side and wound her fingers quickly through it. It was tangled and fought her as she turned into a braid, but better than nothing.

She received a pillow and blanket from Evan and said good night to her friend before curling up on the couch for sleep.

Jonathan was quite relieved to see the girl safe and okay. from what was told she was in bad enough shape to stay in the hospital, but from how she acted it didnt seem like it affected her alot. She was quite stubborn, but he really wasnt one to talk when it came to stubbornness. With a smile he stuck by the girl.

The two began to chat for a while and soon enough Jonathan began to explain what happened during the crash. He could still remember the flames from the accident as clear as day but the actual event was so hard to explain. It happened all so fast and even now Jonathan couldn't believe it happened.

With their chat over Jonathan let Noelle rest and head of. He headed over to Julius' room and soon heard the news. Just hearing this made him realize the significance of the call and the this was something more suited for Jonathan and not Julius. With that Julius fell a sleep and Jonathan returned to his hotel room and went to sleep thinking about what has happened.

Sasha sighed shakily, finishing her coffee as she had enough of listening to the lovebird talk in the cafe. She placed her cup on the counter with an extra bill for tip before making her way out the door and into the freezing night. She was in no mood to listen to people talk about their feelings and all that mushy stuff. Not to mention she did see that one girl pour something into that other boy's cup. It couldn't be anything else but that devil's poison. Forcing out a love from someone like that...how pitiful and selfish. She would get the short end of the stick once she found out he had no feelings for her.
Sasha opened the door to her home and walked in, placing her damp jacket on the wall to dry off and made her way towards her room. She wanted to stay up...going to sleep was gonna be hell for her knowing what she kept down was gonna slam into her like a truck. She flipped on her computer and found that her brother messaged her.
She sighed and got on her bed, laying down and staring at her wall. They're so lucky they can talk about things like that. Me...who the f**k wants to talk to me? About my pitiful past and how they should pity my worthless being? She sighed and buried her head in the pillow, reluctantly letting sleep overtake her.
    Let the nightmares take me...

Oliver didn't leave. He sat down beside her and wrapped an arm around her, pulling Pierce into his side. She cried into the crook of his shoulder for a really long time. There was little said, aside from the occasional words of comfort from Oliver that sounded awkward and forced. She felt terrible asking him to stay like this, but she didn't want to be alone again. How could Sophie be gone? That was just too messed up. Eventually she pulled away and hiccuped while wiping her eyes. She felt tired and her eyes burned. Pierce pushed her hair out of her face and looked up into Oliver's green eyes. She apologized repeatedly for soaking his shirt with tears and making things uncomfortable for him. Pierce also thanked him for staying. She slid away, putting space between the two of them. It felt weird now. The warmth in her side that had been pressed against him was quickly beginning to fade. She sniffled and suppressed another sob. Pierce took a few deep breaths, calming herself down before glancing up at him again. "If you ah, want to go ... You d - don't have to stay any longer."

    "I'll stay."

The look on her face shifted to utter surprise. "Are you - are you sure?"

Oliver confirmed that he was indeed sure.

Pierce's stomach growled and she felt famished after crying for so long. She called to order a pizza -- it was all she could manage in her condition -- and took some aspirin for the headache that was bound to ensue. When the delivery driver arrived, she paid the man and brought it to the living room. They ate in silence; the only noise coming from a movie she put it. Pierce shed a few tears between bites. It was hard to eat, but she knew she had too. The box got pushed to the side at some point in time and she sat with just under a foot of space between them as the movie played. She wasn't really paying attention to it. Her thoughts were consumed with Sophie. Their last real encounter hadn't been that great. It made her feel guilty. How could this happen?

She eventually fell asleep on the couch, slumping over so that her head rested against his arm. If things were different, she would seriously enjoy this moment -- even with the constant stuttering awkwardness that she would exude. However, the situation was less than satisfactory. Her breathing slowed in her sleep as her heart seemed to calm down for the first time in hours. This was just a bad dream. She would wake up the next morning and Sophie would still be alive. . . .

While seemingly reluctant Ria had finally accepted his offer of his hoodie. It was a good thing she did too because otherwise Evan probably wouldn't have relented on the offer. The two of them ended up leaving the gas station and holy hell it was freezing outside. But nevertheless Evan kept his spirits high and never said a peep about the unbelievably cold weather outside. Thankfully Ria wrapped her arms around him and that provided him with some warmth through the oncoming blizzard and the two merrily went on their way.

Evan tried to coax some sort of light hearted conversation out of her, but unfortunately she wasn't too up for that. Regardless they still made it back home and Evan showed her around the apartment. Clearly needing a new pair of clothes Evan got changed into his sleep wear while giving Ria some of his for her own use. He through a spare blanket and pillow on the couch for Ria to use and said his goodnights to her.

With all that done Evan sneezed and went for a tissue box. He was pretty sure standing out in that cold weather in nothing but a t-shirt was a bad idea but it would all work out in the end. He made some hot chocolate for himself, whilst getting another hoodie, a blue one this time, to cover himself up more. He looked out of his little kitchen area to make sure Ria was sleeping soundly and his ever present smile grew more. Through some means or another, Evan had been tasked as being her friend to see her through her great time of trouble, and that's just the man he would be right now. With all his prep work done he slipped into bed, this time not setting a gong alarm so he wouldn't rudely wake Ria up, and went straight to sleep.

    {~~~Day 10 (1/4)~~~December 30th, 2016, Thursday~~~Location: Evan's House~~~Mood: Morning~~~Music~~~Ooc:~~~}

Evan woke up that morning feeling fully refreshed and rejuvenated...all except for the fact that he felt really cold and his nose was runny. He got out of bed, keeping the covers wrapped around him so that he wouldn't feel as cold as he had been. Turned out that he probably got a tad sick going out in that blizzard and was now feeling the after effects of his poor, yet noble decision. Evan got to a box of tissues and started tearing them out one by one. He shoved the bunch into his pocket and blew his nose into the last one he pulled out before going to go about a bit of a daily routine.

Evan got into the kitchen and made himself some hot chocolate, hoping that it would help warm him up a bit. Then it was time for some good old fashioned breakfast making. Evan usually didn't have much but he had company over this time. Reaching into his fridge he took out a carton of eggs and a pack of bacon and set them down on the counter. After pulling another tissue and blowing into it and tossing it away, Evan washed his hand and got ready to go into work. He cracked open a few eggs and put them on a pan whilst cooking some bacon at the same time. He needed to make a good deal more of food, seeing as he wasn't just by himself today and had no idea how much Ria usually ate. But in the end he ended up making three plates worth of eggs and bacon and placed one down on the table in the kitchen.

Walking over to Ria's sleeping figure he placed the plate on the table in front of the couch. Evan walked his way back to the kitchen area, all the while blowing his nose once more, and sat down. Good old delicious breakfast food always lifted the spirits no matter who the person was, and bacon and eggs were just that much better of a breakfast food than any that Evan could think of. He started wondering what he'd do for the day, and his mind wandered over to thoughts of Freya and Cherry Red. He was wondering if anything interesting was going to go down between them, though he'd probably find out sooner or later.

Jonathan was up with a loud yawn as he rubbed his eye and let out a mere groan as he stood up. Waking up early was not his thing, but Jonathan was trying his best to not make sleeping in a habit and besides there were numerous things for him to do. With a sigh Jonathan walked in to the shower and after a while got out and got dressed. The shower had awakened him quite a deal and with that out of the way he soon ran out the hotel with a smile.

Taking a bus was not the most comfortable thing for him to do at the moment and merely hoping onto it made him realize how much of a bad idea it was. Paranoia was the enemy and once he got close enough to the hospital Jonathan got off the bus and decided to run the rest of the way. Running through the cold air was quite relieving and tit made him able to think clearly about what was to come next.

Julius tend to sleep in so Jonathan merely decided to leave the man be and sleep. With a sigh he walked up to Noelle's room and lightly knocked on the door, trying his best to knock quiet enough not to awaken her if she slept, but loud enough to be heard if she was awake.

Seraphina woke up, rising out of her bed as the sunlight shone into the room, bouncing off of the chandelier and filling the room with Sparkles. She sat at the mirror and brushed out her hair.
She went to the dressing room to find something to wear. As she tossed outfits on the chair beside the dresser, she thought about last night again. Her Housekeeper had come in to help her with her hair.
She finally found a dress, and changed behind the screen. "Are you going out with that boy tonight?" Lily asked her. "I don't know." She said honestly. "Well, either way, you look stunning as always, Miss. Seraphina."
She said after she had her hair put up, and then left. Seraphina sat down in the room, alone for a few minutes and looked up at the ceiling. She grabbed her phone.
    To: Shane
    From: Sera
Hey Shane, I hope you got home alright last night. Would you like to go out and do something today? Your choice.
She sent off the text and went down in the bigger dining room. Going to eat breakfast. The staff seemed to see something had sparked yesterday night, and were hinting it every time they could.
The staff here had worked since her Mother was a child, she was born into a rich family. Of course this Mansion had changed a lot over the years, new things being added, taken down, modernized.
But some rooms still had the Medieval castle fell. Her Grandparents, who had passed away recently, told her there were many secrets in the house, passage ways and hidden puzzles. Her Great-Great-Grandfather loved things like that, secrets, so of course her own Grandfather had also, and his father.
This house was filled with discovered and undiscovered places, they had left a journal in the library, but she hadn't found it. She would look around in her spare time, but she had spent most of her time at the house in France, until now, she had until come here a few times month on the weekends.

It would be interesting to find some places where the staff didn't know about, although some worked here since they could start working. The staff had their own legacy here.
She wondered if maybe any of them knew. But it would be nice to find somewhere, where she could just be alone, even more so now that she wanted to be with Shane without any of them around. She wondered about the passages, and then made her way to the Library.

Estelle woke up with her alarm clock blaring. She hit it, and then running around her room, showering quickly, finding an outfit to work in and putting her hair up in a pony tail.
She ran down stairs, a piece of toast in one hand and her phone in the other. She sat down at the Cash Desk at the flower shop and took a deep breath. She texted Nat.
    To: Nat
    From: Estelle
Way-to-go girl! Sooooo what did you guys talk about, I wanna know all the details. Come by if you have a chance!
She sent off the text and sat at the front desk. "You're late." Her sister said with a bitter tone. "I'm sorry, but my alarm wasn't set right." She told her. "If you want to go out Estelle you have to learn to be responsible." Vega said, leaving Estelle opened mouthed.
She basically did everything around here how dare she?! She sighed, putting her elbows on the desk and then starting to fill out some order forms.
What a boring life. It would be more fun if she didn't have to work at all, just be some kind of Rich Brat that got everything done for her.
Not filling out order forms for Roses and other flower names she couldn't pronounce.
At least now she had something to look forward to, hanging out with Nat and maybe Alex. He looked a little bit too old for Nat.
Ah oh well, she would ask questions later. Ah, at least something kept her going on days like this. She sung to herself as she filled out her forms.

The boy rose from his sleep. His room was dusky and felt stuffed - mostly because he hadn't been there in a couple days, but that was the least of his worries. His heart felt heavy and his eyes were sore and puffy.

Yesterday, after Maria had left so suddenly - leaving him utterly confused and concerned because she didn't say much, Sean muttered that he should go to the hospital because he "swore something is wrong with you." which was a little silly, the redhead thought, because he felt absolutely fine despite the whole car incident. However, the young man went anyway, not because of him but for his mother - who he promised to help check out and he was already late.

Sadly, there seemed to be a huge crash on his way to the hospital and it was absolutely horrific. He hopped out of his car and offered to help some people get to the hospital if the ambulances weren't sufficient. He ended up taking a young girl and her mother to the hospital in his car, they only had a few scratches and cuts here and there but nothing completely serious. He kept a happy mood for them and they really appreciated it.

Once he was up at his mother's room it was already midday, but with Tucker's help, they were able to discharge her and leave for home. They avoided the crash site and brought them home. Unpacking and everything. By the time it was dark, they all sat around for a while and watched the news - curious about the site and that's when everything turned worse than it already had been.

The cherry haired man's smile disappeared completely when the names of three of his friends appeared on the screen, claiming they have passed. Lucas, Sophie and Bryan... Bryan. He couldn't believe it. Not one bit. His mother recognized the names and asked if he was alright and he just told her that he knew them but weren't close but immediately excused himself after and left.

He drove back home, frustrated upset and in denial. Lucas and Sophie were great people and Bryan... Bryan was one of his closest friends! A flood of memories rushed over him about the brown haired boy and he couldn't stop the tears from falling. He parked his car in the basement of his apartment, stalked back home and pulled out his phone. He had texted Maria and Erik last night, wondering if they knew about it because he swore he couldn't handle it himself.

    To: Maria, Erik
    Have you seen the news?

He thought of texting Freya last night too but he was sure she wasn't exactly close to Bryan and he didn't want to trouble her, and burden her with how upset he was. He remembers going to bed early after that.

The man, now sitting up, weakly reached for his phone and saw only one message, from Freya! Freya? He looked back down and opened up the message,
    From: Freya
    To: Tucker
Sure, how is tomorrow night? My place?...I'll make you dinner.

Tonight? Tonight seemed all right, though he actually felt like seeing her now. Just. He felt so awful and thinking of her seemed to make him happier. The dorky little smile played at his lips slightly despite the fact that his heart still felt hallow but asking to see him now was egotistical of him! It was being selfish, besides, as if she had the time for him. Well, perhaps she did, but he felt like he would be robbing away her time, she did ask to see him tonight after all, perhaps she was busy this morning.

Unable to feel any happier in the morning, he gave in to his emotions and ended up responding,
    To: Freya
Think we can make it a little earlier?
    Like, 5? Been a rough day, I don't
really want to be alone. I'll help you
    cook : )

He got up to get dressed and shower then left for the grocery for something to eat. He didn't exactly have the appetite but perhaps it could make him feel better as he waited to hear from Erik or Maria. He really needed to talk.

    Chambers, N.

Fatime timidly entered the room, limping slightly on her left leg. It was cold and empty, but the notice outside said that the patient was ready to be discharged this morning.

When Ayanna had visited yesterday evening to inform her of the dire news, Fatime could hardly believe it. She did not want to believe it. And part of all of this ridiculousness was because of her! Of her! Ayanna had left when Fatime could not stop giggling, giggling, giggling uncontrollably, so much that she almost woke poor Julius. She could hardly believe it. Deep breaths. For the rest of the day she refused even to see the idiot nurse boy, or greet anyone else entering her room. She stayed huddled beneath her blanket, quiet and silent, making more paper cranes.

And this morning, when the deaths of the forsaken made the news, it was at the same moment that the nurses announced Fatime was well enough to start walking again.

    But why?

What was the point? Fatime sat in bed for the rest of the early morning, finishing her cranes. She tied notes to them with delicate fingers, looking away from the window. Today her fingers were rife with small bandages from careless, deep paper cuts. She had placed a crane with a small note next to Julius' bed before heading out to find Noelle's room.

The halls were noisy from her tripping, but that was only because she was the only one awake so early. A particularly violent fall sent a shock into her hip, but Fatime bit her tongue and pressed on, trying not to think about anything in particular. The televisions in this floor's various common rooms continued to attack her head with the recent news. She never did notice it, but every time she passed by one of these open rooms her steps slowed down just for a tiny, ephemeral moment. The hospital floor was derelict, and only Fatime's slow footsteps echoed among the peeling blue-and-white speckled linoleum tiles.

Noelle was still sleeping right now, so Fatime placed the black origami crane with the note next to her phone.

    She looked back at Noelle.
Did she know? Fatime's body ached heavily. She sighed and shuffled out of the room, gently closing the door behind her.

When she returned to her room, Professor Julius was still sound asleep on his bed. She moved back to her own, slowly lifting her tiny legs into the messy sheets. A few strips of bandages lay on the ground around the bed, along with crumpled up, torn, and ruined black cranes. The linens had grayed from the repeated stains of tears, and the origami book lay open next to the tablet--

    Fatime choked.

    Lucas' last gifts ...
She looked at the black wrapping paper, and though she felt the great jaws of mortification well in her heart, she did not have enough energy in her body to release even a single chirp at the universe's merciless cruelty.

Good endings only happened in books.

It took Maria a great deal of effort to finally pull herself into a seated position on Evan's couch. Her body was sore and no matter how much more sleep she got, it wasn't enough. The deciding factor was when the sweet aroma of eggs and bacon caught her attention. Her nose perked up and her pale lashes finally fluttered open for good. There was a plate of food sitting in front of her on the coffee table by her phone and her stomach growled. No more sleep. A thick blanket was wrapped around her torso as she reached for the food. The message light on her phone was flashing and she picked that up as well. The ceramic plate balanced precariously on her lap as she picked up a strip of bacon and unlocked the screen on her phone.

    4 Missed Calls.
    3 New Messages.

What? What was possibly going on that her phone was blowing up? She scrolled through the call logs first.

    Mom
    Stephan
    Erik
    Joel

Maria just kind of stared down at the missed calls. That was weird. Joel never called her and Erik only called if it was theater related. She figured Stephan's call was about coming home, and that he had told their mother she took off and hadn't heard from her or something. Maria tapped the message icon and began to read her texts.

    From: Tucker
    Have you seen the news?

    From: Mom
    Baby, I'm so sorry to
    hear about your
    friends. Call me.

    From: Erik
    How are you holding up?

Her eyes were wide as she swallowed down a bite of scrambled eggs. What did she miss? While she was feeling sorry for herself, something happened -- to her friends? What friends? What happened? Maria quickly reached for the television remote, almost spilling her plate of food. Her phone was left abandoned at her side and she pressed the power button on the TV. It was about that time frame where the news would just be wrapping up, so she wasn't sure she'd even find out from that source. The screen stayed black and she stared at it blankly. Was his TV unplugged?

Maria set the food down on the table and crossed the room to inspect the television. Her hands traced over it briefly until she found the power cord. Ah. So it was unplugged. Why would he unplug his TV? She picked up the cord and shoved it into the wall. There was a delay, then -- JESUS FUCKING CHRIST EVAN! Her hands flew to her ears and she wrenched the cord from the wall. Nothing ever came on the screen, but a loud crashing of cymbals -- gongs -- rang out. It startled her completely and her heart was racing a mile a minute. She glared at him as he came out of the kitchen. What the hell was that? Her hand flailed in the direction of the TV. She knew Evan was a bit of a weirdo, but that. I thought I was going to die.

She huffed a sigh then returned to the couch, picking up her phone. It would be faster that way. Facebook first. If there was something big going on, especially involving friends, she could find out faster on the News Feed then scrolling through news articles on Google. The app opened up and almost immediately she could see status updates like:

Rest in Peace Bryan! You were the best.
    *
I can't believe Sophie's just gone. My heart goes out to her fam. :'(
    *
Idk who this Lucas guy was, but man, that was an awful crash.

There were dozens more messages like that flooding her page. A few people even Shared links to news articles about it. Maria felt like her heart stopped. Tears had begun to leak down her face and she hadn't even realized. She looked up to see Evan's concerned, yet confused, face and she handed him her phone to read what she just learned. When he gave it back, her hands felt numb on the contact from the device. She was beginning to tremble and tear drops splashed off the screen. How could she have missed this? She didn't know Lucas really at all, and Soph was less of a friend and more of a close acquaintance, but Bryan ... Bryan was a very good friend. Not to mention Noëlle, while not necessarily being her best friend because Maria had no best friend, she was probably the closest thing to it. Oh God Noëlle! How was she dealing with this? The red head had always seemed to have this incredibly close relationship with her brother that she envied. Stephan had drifted so far away from her that watching her two friends together often times made her a bit jealous.

She licked her lips and attempted to wet her dry mouth. Words would not form on her tongue and she stared down at the phone. Maria returned to texts she had and shakily began replies. Evan's sweet voice mentioned something about going to the park to feel better, but she hadn't really heard the words. She nodded to him, but entertaining oneself at the park was the last thing on her mind. Mom first. Followed by Erik. Then Tucker. Tucker -- it made her heart ache more. What was his deal?

    To: Mom
    Later. We'll talk later.

    To: Erik
    Not well. You?

    To: Tucker
I only just now found out about
    what happened. I can't believe
    Bryan's gone. That just feels
so wrong. It hurts. How are
you doing? Tucker ... Tucker I
... can you meet me at the
park? I'm with Evan. We really
need to talk and, and I miss you.

Maria sucked in a sharp breath as she pressed send on the last message. She felt suffocated sitting here in Evan's apartment and suddenly was desperate to be out. Maria rose to her feet and took her now dry clothes with to the bathroom to change. She was grateful to Evan for everything he had done already and felt a little reluctant pulling his shirt up and over her head. His scent lingered on her skin and she pressed the fabric to her face to try and relax. Tears were still welling up in her eyes and she tore off some toilet paper to blow her nose. This was horrible. #WorstWeekEver Maria pulled on her rather stiff clothing and exited the bathroom. She gave Evan the pajamas back and gathered her things up before collapsing on the couch. What was happening to her life? Everything just seemed to be falling apart before her eyes. She buried her face in her hands. Platinum blond hair cascaded down around her like a veil and she took comfort in its hiding qualities.

Ryder felt good, really good -- aside from the kink in his neck. The weight on his body made him smile and he sighed softly to himself. His eyes opened and he looked to down to see Elisa lying across his lap, still clinging to his body in her sleep. Realization hit him like a brick wall and his face flushed. He remembered what he did last night and it seemed to work. How long before it would wear off? Would he have to buy more? Would he want to buy more when that point in time arrived? Elisa always snuggled up with Richie, and yet, she spent the entire night with her arms wrapped around his waist. He shifted, not wanting to wake her, when he felt it.
His heart started hammering in his chest and he held in his breath. Panic. If she woke up and saw it -- that would pretty much feel like the end of the world. What was he supposed to do. Heat rose in his body and his skin was an ever increasing shade of red. Please don't wake up! His blue eyes bounced around the room frantically. Maybe if he could just slip a pillow or a blanket between her head and his lap -- no good! Ryder attempted to lift her soft turquoise head to put a small couch throw pillow beneath, but it caused her to stir. His hand on the pillow was turning white from how hard he gripped it, while the other gently said her head back down. What was he going to do?! He was trapped between a head and a hard place ( gigglesnort! ).
Ryder's hands felt clammy and his mouth dry. He licked his lips and watched Elisa sleep. What was he going to do? He slipped a protective hand between his lap and Elisa's hair. It was soft on his fingers and had a cute tussled look to it from sleep. Oh God! That was only making things worse. He closed his eyes, trying to block on images of her asleep in his lap. He needed to calm down and relax. Thinking about her right now was like shooting himself in the foot. Ryder adjusted himself to try and make it less obvious. There was one easy way to sure fire remove his unwanted bout of morning wood, but it was kind of out of the question at the moment. He pressed his lips together and breathed deeply.

    {~~~Day 10 (2/4)~~~December 30th, 2015, Thursday~~~Location: Evan's House~~~Mood: Confused~~~Music~~~Ooc:~~~}

Evan was just sitting down, eating his good old breakfast, when suddenly some gigantic sound reverberated through the apartment.

JESUS ****ING CHRIST EVAN! What the hell was that? I thought I was going to die.

He heard his good friend Ria shout after the large sound was over and done with. He walked over there chuckling a bit, rubbing the back of his head as he got there."Funny thing about that. Forgot to mention that um, I don't really ever use my TV." Now he had started going into a more matter of fact explaining tone."You see, I use these," he reached into the TV and pulled out a gong alarm clock, "as my alarm clock, because they're like really cool an all. Now this right here," he pointed to his TV, "is more of a shell of a TV than an actual working one. When I wake up, often times I will use some form of melee device to hit the alarm and have it go flying into this broken shell of a television unit. Since the thing never works I usually have it unplugged," with this he walked over to unplug the television."Now when sometimes I forget that or an uninformed guess plugs it in, the current or something like that causes all these clocks to ring all in unison. So um, long story short, sorry." He laughed it a bit off while Ria went with a huff to the couch. She seemed to check her phone and then suddenly her expression went a lot darker than before.

Wondering why his good friend was crying she gave him the phone to try and alleviate his confusion. He looked at it and his expression went neutral. Evan wasn't the best a grieving nor the best at feeling sad, so he wasn't entirely sure how to feel at this news. Sophie Bennett, some rich girl who he wasn't the best acquainted with. Bryan Chambers, some guy who always seemed to be bright and cheery, a good guy it seemed. And Lucas Cygnette. That dude was some sort of badass butler man and Evan did enjoy that man. He was looking at Ria who clearly was not handling the news well at all. He needed to do something fast to help cheer her up. The girl already had enough bad shit happen without this already in the mix. His expression went back to a smile and he said, "well um,how about we go to the park Ria?" Evan knew he wasn't doing the greatest of jobs at trying to lift her spirits but he didn't exactly know what to do in this scenario. He'd just sort of walk it off and go about his business as usual, but Evan had learned over time that that was no ordinary person's response.
He sneezed into a tissue first and got his outfit ready to go. With his now clean white hoodie on, he put on some pants to go over his boxer shorts and some shoes. When Ria got out of his bathroom she gave him his clothes back and he put them away. Not really sure what to do he draped an extra jacket over her and patted her on the back saying, "come on.Let's go now." The two of them exited Evan's place and went on their not so merry way to the park.

Torvald's blinked, re-reading the news article again and again.

    Oh.

For a long time, he sat on the park bench, unable to say a word. The untimeliness of death had grasped words away from his mouth, and for once in his life he couldn't say anything beyond soft incomprehensible mumbles. Died? Death. On the same road as the Professor, too? What kind of cursed capitalist trickery was this? Torvald scowled, but he only felt empty.

It wasn't like he had never gone through this before. He sighed a sigh not of mourning, but of fatigue over the repetition in his head.
More death ... his stomach curled up in weak knots. At the same time, he didn't feel sad about it. At all. He just shook his head and paid his respects. Death was a distant figure to him now.

Or, well, he wanted it to be. So badly ...

Torvald placed his phone back into his pocket and stretched out upon the bench, trying to get a better look at the cold winter sky. He laid his head back on his arms and tilted his head, the winter breeze on his pinkish cold-nipped nose. It was almost the end of the year, and they couldn't get through a single few years without something terrible happening ...

Torvald thought back to the stories the others told him, when he first arrived here, about the horror that was Camp Fortissimo two years ago.
It took quite a bit to shake Torvald, but for all of that to happen to children ... he resisted the urge to shiver. And now these crashes. It wasn't in the right mind to think through the throes of conspiracy, Torvald. People were just careless. People were always careless ...

He sighed and slid fingers around his sleek phone as he stared blankly at the sky.

    There was a rustle.
Torvald jumped and turned his head, like a startled deer.

    ...

<< Rainbow? What are you doing in the park-- >>

    Was that ...

<< You! You! >> He jumped up, less looking like he was ready to fight than he seemed extremely startled and suspicious; a cornered fox, continuing to babble on nonsense. << You two! Both of you! Both of you two! Two of you! Aaaaaugh! >>

    CLOTHESMOOD » UPSET TUNESLOCATION » CAFE/PARK OOC

By the time he sat at the cafe alone, sipping on a rather strong coffee, it was becoming more obvious how upset he was - not only to the people around him, but to himself. It took a lot of courage not to cry in public because it was really sinking in. Bryan, Sophie, Lucas - they were gone now. It was some super freak accident that they didn't deserve to be caught up in and now they were gone. Yesterday, part of him still expected someone to reply and pick up the phone if he contacted Bryan through his phone or Bryan would come out with a smile and greet everyone politely, telling them it was just an act - like part of the musical they just worked on together.

Slowly, Tucker realizes that it wasn't and it was never going to be anything like that anymore because they were gone. He bit down at his lip and inhaled shakily. This was a little too much for him to handle. He knew it wasn't his fault, and the entire crash had nothing to do with him, but he couldn't help but blame himself. People suffered under his ignorance before. What if he could have been nearby and done something? What if he was still on his way to the hospital when it happened and he could have helped Bryan or Sophie or Lucas get to the emergency room? What if he was caught up in the crash instead of them?

He held his phone tightly in his hand as all these "What if's" rolled through his mind. His screen was kept at Freya's contact the entire time. Sometimes, he would keep his finger so close to press it and call her and ask her to come over because he didn't want to be alone - because he was scared. However, he really didn't want to burden her with that, with him all depressed. He already upset her so much yesterday, he wasn't planning to do it again.

Suddenly, as his vision blurred because tears welled in his eyes, his screen popped up a message with a soft buzz. He blinked, adjusting his vision and looking down at the screen. It was a response from Erik! Thank goodness!

    From: Erik
Yeah, I saw it. It's pretty unbelievable. How are you holding up Tuck?
If you need to talk I'm here.

He breathed out heavily, feeling some tears falling at the corners of his eyes. He quickly brushed them off with his thumb and sniffled. He responded quickly,

    To: Erik
I don't know man. I just. I don't know what to think of this.
I don't know. Bryan was like our little brother or something.
Why him, Erik? Why Sophie and Lucas too?

As he sent the message, another popped up. It was Maria.

    To: Tucker
I only just now found out about
    what happened. I can't believe
    Bryan's gone. That just feels
so wrong. It hurts. How are
you doing? Tucker ... Tucker I
... can you meet me at the
park? I'm with Evan. We really
need to talk and, and I miss you.

His heart sank. He suddenly felt guilty too, especially because he never even got to checking if she was alright from yesterday. She looked awful and her excuse wasn't exactly believable. He grabbed his coffee as he headed out, giving a small reassuring smile to the clerks at the counter who seemed to be watching him with much concern.

    To: Maria
I feel awful too and I'm only believing the news now. I don't want to but I am.
I don't know if I can handle it either but I'm heading over. Please be okay.

He then hopped into his car and headed over to the park immediately. Once he got there, it wasn't hard to see the other three figures he knew so well. He didn't expect Torvald to be there but he was. The more the merrier right? Hah. He walked up to them, letting the coffee he got warm up his hands. He gave them a tired smile, "Hey everyone."

Natalie awoke feeling like crap the next morning. She loitered around the house in her pajamas for most of the day and moped over the loss of three people she knew. At one point, she got horribly bored of life so she went up to her room and lay in bed, doing nothing but staring at the ceiling. She wondered if Estelle or Alex had found out about it.

Then came a knock and a familiar voice at her bedroom door. "N-Natalie? I-I-I need to talk to you."

Welp, Amelia had certainly found out about the crash. She could hear it in her voice. Natalie quickly sat up and straightened her clothes. "Yeah? Come in."

Amelia entered the room. She was the one with the most Scottish in her, so she was pretty pale, but she looked ridiculous right now. Almost like a ghostly transparent. She was shaking as well. "Um... N-Natalie..."

"Yes Amelia? What is it? What's wrong?"

"Y-You heard about the c-crash right? The one last night?"

"Yeah..." Natalie said, "Wait, why? I know who died and while I didn't particularly care for them, I saw them at school often enough to know them."

"Well... um... About that... two more people were confirmed dead."

Natalie's heart stopped. Who else had been on the bus? "What!? Tell me who!"

"...Natalie I'm sorry... I'm so sorry..."

"Get on with it Amelia!" Natalie was holding back tears.

"Mom and dad were on the bus too..."

Natalie froze up. Wh-What? Her parents... Her parents were... dead? Sure, they were never around, but they were still her parents. They had always done everything with the best of intentions. Even if they couldn't show up to Christmas or play productions, they still sent presents and flowers if they were away on business.

    It... It couldn't be true.

"A-Are we sure it's them? It could be anyone, right? Please Amelia, they're wrong!"

Amelia was crying now. "No... I'm sorry kid... but it's them..."

Natalie then just burst out crying and bawling and flailing. She felt Amelia wrap her arms around her. "Sh... It's okay Natalie... We'll get through this somehow."

    ~

After a lot of crying and grieving of what seemed like hours, Amelia suggested Natalie go hang out with Estelle or another friend. "Just go have fun," she said, "Don't worry about all the other stuff, okay? You're just a kid and you need to have fun."

    "You're just a kid."

How lovely. She was getting shoved aside as the baby of the family. It couldn't be helped, she supposed. Amelia was the oldest of the three Williams Siblings. She was 24, then came Rory at 23, and finally Natalie at 16. Not that age mattered though, because to most of the family, Natalie was basically already an adult due to her maturing over the past two years.

"Yeah, maturing. Let's call the mental scarring I suffered at camp 'maturing.'"

Looking at her phone now being fully dressed (wearing black, no less), she noticed a text from Estelle:

Natalie sighed. Estelle had no idea what had just happened. How could she?

    Grudgingly, Natalie texted back.

Wow, that manner of typing was so unlike her.

    ~

She walked to Estelle's house quickly, hoping to avoid anyone she knew who would have stopped her to give condolences or whatever the **** people said to each other. Eventually, she came upon the flower shop and entered. Natalie said a quick hello to Vega and then proceeded to find Estelle at the counter.

"Hey..." Natalie said quietly with a slight hint of sadness.

Maria's phone went off on the way to the park. She stopped briefly to check it. There was a message from Tucker and she suddenly felt a little less terrible.
    From: Tucker
I feel awful too and I'm only believing
the news now. I don't want to but I am.
I don't know if I can handle it either but
I'm heading over. Please be okay.

A sad smile ghosted across her face as she stuck her phone back in her pocket and kept walking. There was no need to reply. She would see him when he got there. They could talk about what happened with her and cry with each other over Bryan. He was their friend. His death made her feel hollow. A small part of her was missing and she remembered way back when she used to like him as more. The memories were overwhelming and tears began to break through harder as she walked beside Evan. She clung to the jacket he gave her like a life line. Maria left like she was drowning -- an act that she was all too familiar with. After having drown once and almost drown a second time, she didn't like the way she felt at this moment. It was tearing her up inside.

The reached the park without her even realizing. Maria wrapped her arms around Evan's bicep like she had done the night before. His jacket wasn't enough. She physically needed someone to hold onto. This emotional roller coaster that she was enduring wasn't fun in the least bit. It was nauseating and filled with fear and self - loathing. Everything was falling apart when just a few short days ago, it was perfect. What had she done to be so cosmically **** on? She didn't deserve this. They started to pass by a bench with a man seated at it. Maria's attention was too focused on the snow covered ground to notice who it was. Just some stranger they were passing by. Rainbow? What are you doing in the park -- or not. Her head snapped up at the sound of the voice. If only her week couldn't get any worse. He would be here. You! You! And, he instantly recognized her.

Maria pressed her lips together in a hard line. Torvald jumped up. What was his problem? Couldn't he just not be obnoxiously annoying for five seconds and disappear off the face of the planet? You two! Both of you! Both of you two! Two of you! Aaaaaugh!

She glared at him. Yes, both of us. Is it so astonishing Tannhauser? She was in no mood for his bullshit. Maria pulled the collar of her poncho up to conceal her neck. The bump on her forehead had lost all its swelling, but the bruises and cuts were still plain to see. What she wouldn't give for a boatload of makeup right now. She had never been so utterly unpresentable in public before and now this marked two days in a row -- today being a lot worse since she hadn't spent last night at home. She sighed heavily. Her blond bangs swept across her face and more tears escaped the corners of her eyes. She was too tired to argue with him. Maria didn't have it in her to go back and forth with the communist wannabe. She looked up at him. Torvald was roughly a foot and a half taller than her. Can we just ... not do this today? I'm really too worn out to argue with you and you're only going to give me a headache. There. Plain and simple.

Footsteps crunched on the snow behind her. She turned to see Tucker approaching and her heart swelled with sorrow and joy at the same time. Maria bit down hard on her lip as saltwater droplets clung to her chin. Hey everyone. he greeted sadly.

Tucker. Maria unhooked herself from Evan's arm and approached him. They hugged, albeit, a bit awkwardly. It felt so much better to have him here. She took him by the hand and led him over to the other two before letting go. This is just so absolutely unbelievable. I can't stop thinking about Noëlle and how she must be handling everything. I just ... she choked back a sob and shook her head. Loose strands of hair swayed left and right and she covered her mouth with her hand.

Estelle had put some tea on the kettle, and then joined Nat in the living room. "Nat... if you want to talk about it... I'm here... but if you want to just get your mind off things, I could talk about something else." Estelle asked, putting the tea on the table.
"Umm... well... erg... I'm sorry Nat, I don't know what to say, but I know how the loss... of a parent feels. I lost my dad when I was a kid, and it torn my family apart... but you just, you got to remember to stay strong. Even though it's so hard, it's so hard you have to." Estelle said, on the verge of tears.
"Strength of Heart, can help you through the hardest of trials. You have to keep fighting it, because you have friends that are here for you, we'll always be here for you." Estelle said, putting her arms around her in a hug.
"I'm sorry this had to happen, but just know that they're looking down on you, ok? And they don't want you to be sad, they want you to move on, and they want you to be happy. Trust me." Estelle said, still having her in a hug.

"If you want, you can stay with us for a while." Estelle told her. "If you just want to get away from home for a bit, you can stay here for as long as you want. You should also talk to Alex, tell him what happened, cause if anyone can help you I'm sure it's him." She said.

Shane's morning had started the usual way it did, he got up, showered and got dressed. Probably one of the few differences was the fact that he left the house without any threats from his parents, though there were some occasions where he's done that anyway so it would be a noticeable difference it what he did.

Eventually he ended up at the park where he decided to check his phone. The first thing that popped up once the screen was lit was the message icon.

As the message was sent, he went ahead and took a seat on the bench. He figured that she'd be here when she could.
