Alexandra's hand was suddenly pulled and she was running. Noelle had saved her. While they ran, Alexandra coughed out a quick "Thank you" to her savior.

Eventually (she couldn't tell, it felt like hours to her), they made it to the camp circle. There were firemen everywhere. Noelle dropped Alexandra's hand without warning and left. Alexandra scanned the area for Shouta or Alice, the two people she had grown fond of during breakfast. She hoped that they were okay and would show up soon. Even if they werent looking for her, she had to find them.

Bryan saw to every camper he could after successfully making it to the Circle. He checked for burns, injuries, missing campers . . . But he couldn't shake his guilt. He felt bad for not being able to do much for Richie and Elisa. He was a bad counselor. A bad person. Would they be mad at him? They had all the right.

He groaned in frustration as he rubbed angrily ( angry at himself ) at his tired eyes.

And to top it all off, he hadn't been able, wasn't able to look for Noëlle! He should do that now. Unconsciously, Bryan's feet carried him back in the direction of the forest.

"You're not very bright, are you?" asked a girl, and Bryan turned around, looking down to see pale gray-blue eyes staring up at him, "There is a fire. Fire. F - I - R - E. You'll probably die if you go back in."

    Sophie. Bryan breathed out, blushing in a bit of embarrassment, "B - But . . . Noëlle . . ."

"Hmm?" she hummed, "She was with Alice, taking her out of the forest. I'm sure she's alright. Look, the firefighters are here."

His vivid green eyes, that were glazed over with near-teardom, peered up to see firefighters, fully equipped, head into the forest to kill the flames. They . . . wouldn't find Noëlle in there, would they?

When a body slammed into him, a crying girl sounding, Bryan fell back onto his probably already bruised butt, and in his lap, pressed into his chest was a mess of pink hair. Pink hair!

"Noëlle!" he cried out with relief, wrapping his arms around his little sister and breathing her in. She was here, she was okay! "I'm so happy you're alright . . ." Aw man, he felt like he was going to cry, "Are you okay? Where are your cabin mates? Your counselor? You're not hurt anywhere, are you?" Bryan stood and swept his crying little sister carefully into his arms. He set her down on a bench and then kneeled in front of her, wiping her tears and giving her a warm but shaky smile, and then quickly checking her over for major injuries.

"I told you she would be alright," said someone from behind him, but when he looked, no one was there, and Sophie was walking away from the scene as if nothing had happened.

--- iPod Shuffle --- Mood: Confused --- Outfit--- Day 2 --- Location: Ambulance---

Aislin heard a soft ringing at first which caused her to stir. Then she started to hear a siren slowly get louder and louder, to the point she forced herself to open her eyes. She looked around and gathered she was in an ambulance and was about to whisper 'oh no' until she noticed she had an oxygen mask on her face.
The EMT in there with her asked her to lie down, they had an expression on their face that attempted to not convey emotion. If she had asked them if she would be okay a smile would have appeared on their face to calm Aislin down, because its just what professionals do.
Aislin tried to recall how she ended up in there. She recalled a fire, but normally Aislin would have run. Did the fire end up circling her? If so why was she still alive? She came to the assumption she went into shock or the smoke got to her first.
"Great..." Aislin coughed a bit before she continued softly. "Sooooo wanted that to happen during my second day of camp."

Emalynn didn't get very much time to look around before she heard chaos in the forest. What the hell . . .? Then it she could smell the problem- smoke and where there was smoke, there was fire. What . The . Hell !? She had to run. She wasn't prepared to be burnt alive. Not today.

Everything after that point was a blur. She remembered telling James to run, and then running herself. And she remembered the internal panic attack she had, when she looked back James wasn't following close behind her. She remembered running back to grab his arm and dragging him along . . . but nothing after that.

And now she was lying down in an ambulance, with an oxygen mask attached, being brought to the hospital. Emalynn stared at the roof of the ambulance. It was plain white, and pretty boring, but there was nothing else to look at. She was instructed not to move, and so she did what she was told. What else could she do?

" AND SO IT BEGINS... "

Sean started coughing and Jenna interjected. "Don't call him Meathead! He saved me, Erik!" Before she could say anymore, she joined Sean in the coughing. Erik's shoulder's slumped and he set a hand on the small of her back, patting lightly.

"No." Sean finally managed through the coughing.

Erik shook his head and stood up straight. He was calm now, but still worried about his two other campers. There was no choice but to be calm. He couldn't be freaking out in front of those he was responsible for. They were just kids and it would scare them. "I'm going to go find Kevin and keep searching for James and Emalynn. Stay here. If you see them, make them wait with you." His dark eyes shifted carefully through the night. The circle was now fairly lit from the flames of the fire pit, flashlights moving everywhere, and the flashing lights of emergency response vehicles. "I'll be back soon. If a paramedic comes by, the both of you need to get checked out for smoke inhalation."

His throat felt like it was on fire. Erik had suppressed the desire to cough the pain away the entire time he was standing there. When he was free of his campers eyes, Erik hunched forward clutching his knees, and retched violently. It burned worse than before. He needed water, but it would have to wait. Wiping his mouth on the back of his hand, Erik stood erect and weaved through the clusters of campers. His eyes scanned the faces, searching. He saw Bryan not too far away with his little sister Noëlle. Erik wished he could smile at that, but now was not the time.

He crossed through a wad of teens and a familiar blond woman stood not too far away. Erik closed the distance in two strides. "Sam!" Erik had never really been 100 % sure how he felt about her, there were good days and bad, all of that was out of his mind when he saw that she was a little worse for wear. He wrapped his arms around the fellow counselor's shoulder and pulled her into a tight embrace for just a moment, then held her out at arm's length. "Are you okay? You look like hell." His brown eyes scanned her body up an down. Her knees looked like they might have been skinned up. "Did you fall?" He realized how ridiculous he probably sounded at that moment, but didn't really care. "You haven't seen Kevin have you? The kids are freaking out." Erik dropped his hands from her shoulders and shoved them in the front pockets of his shorts. He glanced over his shoulder, searching for the Camp Coordinator, but to no avail.

Adrian tried to open his eyes and he coughed. Blurred vision. What the heck happened? One minute he was in the forest in a scavenger hunt, the next minute, a fire circled him, and.....
The scavenger hunt. It was ruined.
    "Hey bro."
Adrian looked to his right and saw Toni on a hospital cart beside him. She was completely ashen, from head to toe. And her eyes were tired.
"Hell of a fire, huh?" She asked letting up a sad smile, then coughed.
Adrian sat up straight and asked,"Where are we? What happened?"
Toni coughed again and said, "I don't no and I don't care. I'm too tired to spit fire."
Adrian immediatly smirked, and sarcastically said, "Well, fire is bad for you. Maybe you shouldn't pop a vein every one second!" And he coughed.
Toni sat up quickly, "I do not pop veins every one second!" She snapped.
The Apathy Twins stared at each other. They occasionally fought like this.
Adrian suddenly started laughing. Toni also started to giggle. They laughed because they were relieved to be alive. They were happy to see each other safe, and knowing that their spirits have fallen. After 7 full minutes, the laughing ceased and Adrian said, "I'm glad that your sharp mouth hasn't worn off, Ton."
"And I'm glad that your safe, and that you narcassistic wit hasn't been grinded by the flames."
"So, where are we?" Adrian asked finally.
"We're on our way to Westerfield Hospital, about 40 minutes from camp. The firefighters said that we both inhaled a large amount of smoke, you taking the most of it, but they say that we'll be fine. We just need to be checked by a doctor. After that, I don't know."
Adrian nodded slowly and sank back to the bed sheets. "I just hope that brown haired girl is ok.." He sighed suddenly worried about the others.
"They'll be fine, they just need to-" She looked at him and said, "Wait. Are you talking about Pierce, the girl from my cabin?"
    "That could be her."
Toni pulled a small evil smile. "I could tell her that you know."
Adrian sat up. "No you wont."
"And what makes you think I won't?"
"Cuz I know that you've been giving Alex Rhodes goo-goo eyes whenever he wasn't looking."
Even though Toni had a face full of ash, Adrian can visibly see that her face had blanched at the last comment. She lay down, thinking the situation over. Suddenly, Adrian felt guilty. He knew that Toni might've really liked this boy, and blackmailing wasn't really nice, even if he usually was on shaky ground with his sister.
"How about this." He said, making Toni look at him, "When and if we get back, I will hook you up with Alex, if you hook me up with Pierce."
Toni snorted, "When pigs and hedgehogs fly. Alex is cute and all, but the guy's a little timid. He wouldn't last a minute with me, and I know this because I admit that by instinct I'm a hothead."
    "That can all be arranged."
"How can you? You been heartbroken 2 times!" Toni suddenly looked horrified. "I'm sorry!"
Adrian paled. He closed his eyes, and whispered, "Why do I keep getting reminded of that??"
He took a deep breath and said, "The point is, do you like the guy from the bottom of your heart?"
"Do you like Pierce the way I like Alex?"
    "Yes."
Toni smiled this one a reassuring one, "Then yes, I do. The guy is so cute!" She sighed, thinking about him, "I'd do anything to make him notice me!"
Adrian gave her a steady look, held out his hand, and said, "So we have an agreement?"
Toni shook it confidently, "Yes it's a deal."
The two of them settled down again, and closed their eyes for sleep.

THERE'S a STIRRING INSIDE of ME.

Pierce's legs were trembling unsteadily. She tried to do her best to remain standing, but she couldn't take it anymore. Her knees buckled and her legs gave out underneath her. The world around her spun as she collapsed to the dirt covered ground where she stood. Adrenaline was fading quickly and shivers wracked her body uncontrollably. The sleeves of the gray sweater Tucker gave her were pushed up and Pierce rubbed her hands on her arms and legs briskly to try and rid the chills from her body. Her hands were trembling and her breath was shaky and uneven. She hadn't had time to be afraid before. Something dripped off her chin and she lifted her hand to the sticky drying substance crusting to her cheek. When Pierce pulled her hand away, she could see that the liquid on her fingers was dark. She was bleeding. Why was she bleeding? She tried to remember, but it was all so foggy.

Tears began to streak down her face, mixing with the blood. Her cheek stung and she was filthy. The sweater was torn and for that she felt guilty. The white blouse she had been wearing was streaked with dirt and covered in little red splotches. her hair was a wild tangled mess and she reeked of smoke. The underside of her fingernails felt like they were caked in dirt and her shorts had twigs oddly stuck to them. Trembling fingers pried at the baby sticks and pulled them off of her. Her legs were painfully sore, still burning from that long run. She pulled her knees up to her relatively flat chest and hugged her bare legs defensively. She was a tiny ball of flesh and hair curled up at the feet of her peers.

Not having friends rarely bothered her, but now Pierce wished she had someone to talk to. Tears continued to flow vigilantly down her face and she buried her eyes in her knees, carefully avoiding the cut on her cheekbone. Her long hair was covered in sweat and dirt and clung to her body like a veil. It shielded her face from any unwanted onlookers and helped her feel more protected. This was way worse than last year. Last year she had just been spooked to tremendously by all the staff jumping out and people bumping into her in the dark. There had been no real danger--it was all in her head. This was different. They could have died. She could have burned or been suffocated by the smoke, or even attacked by whatever made that loud roar. Her whole body convulsed as she cried silently to herself in her small balled form.

Pierce inhaled deeply. She got a strong whiff of Tucker's sweet sent and she felt her face flush. Tears and blood blotted the sleeves touching her face and stuck to her cheeks. The sweater smelled like smoke, some sort of soap, and that overall Tucker distinct aroma. It smelled good, even with the smoky smell added to it. She hugged her legs tighter, taking comfort and warmth in the soft tattered gray cotton.

Through all the panicked people, burning forestation and thick smoke, Tucker had actually lost his students. With many routes blocked, he simply began loosing them one by one. It was horrible, and sick thoughts entered his mind as his heart felt like it would beat of his chest. He didn't even like remembering the feeling - it made him shiver. He actually didn't go and escape the forest, even though he probably could. The only thing on his mind were his troopers. His three, amazing troopers who might have been stuck in the forest or even out of it already. Yet, he didn't take his chances, instead of escaping he went back into the woods, screaming for his Trooper's names. Also screaming however were his ankles which were still incredibly painful. They were so sore rom jumping down the tree then running all of the place right after. They were definitely strained, but part of him didn't even mind because he thought about Piece, Quentin, and Stratana. He wished that they were all just out of the forest and he was just wasting his time. He just wished they were okay.

At one point, the twenty one year old had succumbed to the smoke and pain in his ankles that barely supported him. He leaned onto one of the not too burnt trees in the outer parts of the forest, close to the camp circle really since the fire spread so fast. His clothes were incredibly dirty from the smoke. His white shirt stuck closely to his bare skin as he dripped in his own sweat. He hovered his fisted hand over his lips and coughed into it roughly before he called out for his troopers once more. However his voice was so hoarse and weak it didn't help. Suddenly, a fire man had appeared by his side and put a hand on the young adult's shoulder. "You have to leave" and Tucker remembered protesting, mentioning his troopers in between coughs before he kind of just lost balance and had the fire man catch him. With the fire man's help, he was able to escape the forest.

Now, he lay on a stretcher. His chestnut eyes shifted around him before the paramedics lifted him into an ambulance. He recognized the place, he was still at camp. Just, not going to be in a while. He was to be transported off into a hospital for sure. He looked up at the paramedic on his side, raising his right forearm to graze his finger on the medic's arm lightly. "I need to get back to my - COUGH - squad. Thank you for the help but I'm perfectly - COUGH COUGH- fine. I've broken my ankles numerous time before, they're just a little strained. I don't need to go to a hospital - COUGH -I promise. I j-just need to find my troopers. All of them. Ch-check if they're - COUGH COUGH - okay...!" The man stared at him blankly before saying, "That is not for you to decide. We need to run a check on you to see if you're alright and your ankles are not strained but swollen. Please let us take care of you."

He sighed but nodded, then smiled and mouthed a thank you. He closed his eyes, not really wanting to face reality. Everything just happened so fast - too fast. He found the missing trooper, he helped her out, it was the scavenger hunt, then he was happily with his group, he gave pierce his jacket, then the great fire came, and now he was on his way to a hospital. The doors of the ambulance closed loudly and the paramedics began to examine him in the ambulance - checking for signs of injury. They checked on his ankles first, feeling them and checking if anything was broken again. Then, they turned to his body and checked for any sort of bruises or anything. Spotting something red over his hip, the paramedic reached down at his shirt and pulled it up. His shorts were a little low and past his hip bones since he was sweating so much, but nonetheless there were scars. Not one, but plenty. A lot. Tucker immediately sat up and grabbed his tee and tugged it down. "Not there!!" he yelled furiously, The paramedic practically jumped back in surprise, then said politely, "sir we have to check if anything is wrong for you. What happened with this?" Tucker simply retorted with a "I'm fine, I promise! That's just a scar. It's not from today." but he knew he couldn't win the fight. He was too exhausted, but the paramedic respected him anyway and they continued to the hospital where he would further be checked instead.

Alexandra sat down on a bench. Suddenly, a for of coughing overtook her. She tried to call someone over, but she couldn't string two letters together.

By the time the coughing stopped, her chest hurt incredibly and she had a massive headache. She got up and was dizzy. She seemed ready to collapse at any moment.

    LOCATION HOSPITAL
Elisa could barely remember what happened. She felt like her body was just floating in an abyss - a somewhat similar feeling like when she took too many sleeping pills. Her eyes were closed, and her body was relaxed but that didn't matter because she wasn't even at a present mind. Everything was trippy. However, she still tried to remember what she just went through.
The teenager remembers the scavenger hunt starting and her getting very excited. She also remembers when her camp counselor, Bryan, grabbed her delicate hand and lead the group out of the forest. She then recalls that they had all split up and she joined Bryan and Richie, where they found some things! What was it again…? Then, her camp counselor hauled her up to this new searching location of theirs in a very… nice manner before he tumbled down as he tried to bring Richie up. Then, she was alone for a moment and she was so scared but at the same time she just tried to think she was a black mage in a forest ins one magic role play on a forum site she was part of. Then, panic spread through everywhere and she was with Bryan, but then he disappeared and then soon she lost Richie too. She remembers screaming frantically for them both and thinking this was definitely not a cool situation to be in anymore. Then she remembers feeling weird and things going black.
As she opened her eyes to a clean white ceiling. She saw an IV beside her and injections that connected from it in her forearm. An oxygen mask was also placed over her mouth. She could see bandages on her other arm, over her imaginary bicep. Another bandage was on her incredibly large right thigh. She still felt really dream-like and hazy. She was at a hospital - that was for sure. With those in mind, she began to piece it all together. She realized what had just happened: she fainted due to the products of no food intake, intense heat, smoke, dehydration and exhaustion. Someone must have found her, probably the camp leaders or the firemen, but someone did and brought her to safety. At least, as safe as she could think of - she really disliked hospitals. They were such limitations. The IV was for the underweight-ness they were probably gong to be curious about, and also to get the "missing" nutrition into her body - especially at this time that she needed it. The oxygen mask was obviously for all the smoke she possibly breathed in and the bandages were there for the wounds she probably got from running and falling. She blinked her heavy eyes slowly. Now the doctor would find out she's anorexic and that she would need to probably stay in the hospital a little longer - maybe even over night. Usually when doctors find her in that state, they'd keep her for the entire day and make sure she ate but then again, this was a totally different context - she could just blame that it wasn't hunger that caused her to faint but the forest fire. However, not only that, they could also begin to keep an eye on her more - maybe even contact her counselor and tell him to make sure Elisa got a good, full meal everyday. She wanted to vomit at the thought of eating a meal. She sighed in her mind, this was not fair.

Sean hailed over one of the nearby EMTs, realizing in the dire situation that Erik's suggestion was spot on. They may have lived through the fire, but Sean felt like he could just keel over at any moment; with as big as he was, he worried twice as much about tiny Jenna's lungs. As the EMT rushed over, Sean gave a mighty hack that resulted in some heavily peppered mucus erupting from his mouth and landing in a sizeable wad at his feet.

"That's KOFF KOFF! kinda gross..." Jenna stated matter-of-factly with a hazy tone. This was all she could manage to say before an oxygen mask was attached to her face by the EMT as she breathed in sharply with the flood of airborne nourishment.

Sean would have chuckled if every fiber of his being wasn't screaming out in pain. Soon enough, this burning feeling in all his many prominent muscles was sedated to a degree when he too was brought fresh oxygen. That was the problem with being big: when your muscles hurt, your muscles HURT!

"You know, you kids are real lucky." Said the female EMT working on them. She was a young, beautiful and resplendent blond, with big juicy cupid's bow lips and a model's face and body, but for the first time ever, Sean cared more about something else than getting himself laid. He cared more about Jenna surviving this ordeal; they were out of the literal woods, but that's all they were out of as far as "woods" were noted.

The two that had gone off on their own hadn't shown yet. Were they okay? Had they just been taken by the paramedics? She sure hoped so. If only she hadn't been such a boring counselor though, and been more attentive to Alice's freak out. It was noticed, but the other one was already helping her. Then they were both gone before she could say anything.

    She was the worst.

With eyes stuck on the forest Sam was not paying attention to much else. Let them be okay played in her head over and over. People so young did not deserve to go through this. They needed to be happy. Everyone should be able to just live a happy fucking life just for once.

Mental rant ending, she noticed someone calling out to her. An unexpected hug then happened, leaving her lost for words. No reaction was given by the time it ended. Only mouthed words and wandering eyes. Tears threatened to form, but she was so used to fighting those off that it was easy to stop them. "Tripped... Some wire, probably a prank." Forming words were rather hard and her sentences weren't even that complete in the first place. But the gist was given.

When asked about Kevin all she could give was a shake of her head. After that it seemed like everyone was being moved to the loft and thus she followed, hoping to see her missing students there.

Having been one of the students closest to getting out the forest with ease Allen's suffering was to a minimum. A cough here, a cough there. But that was the extent of it. The smoke should cause no real damage, or so he was assuming. This made watching the others' pain all the more pleasing. The running, crying, blood, fear! It was all a perfect picture. If only he could just start laughing, right then and there. Hahaha! Perfection.

To make it all the sweeter Pierce was one of the ones hurt and scared. She could not even stand it seemed. He put on a worried face and rushed over to her, crouching at her side. "Are you alright?" Funny to say that again. But people who were truly worried did not have the time to pick through their words carefully enough to be original.

There was a jacket on her though. One he did not see as they were around the fire nor in her things. It seemed too big for her as well. Was it from a guy? One she liked even? Despite having only a mild liking to her it was not acceptable. Hell, he could hate someone but if they were his target then they were his. This just won't do. This was worse then finding the CB because at least that showed an interesting side to her.

He placed his hands on her shoulders to try and gently help her up. "We should move, everyone's going in there."

Sam looked on the brink of tears when he released her, but it didn't last long. "Tripped... Some wire, probably a prank." she finally said. His eyes narrowed and he stepped closer to Sam territorily. Dark brown eyes surveyed those closest to them, but there would be no way of knowing who had put up wire. She told him that she hadn't seen Kevin and he groaned in frustration.

    "All right," he sighed.

She excused herself and followed after the others into the loft. Erik turned on his heels and zigzagged through the crowds of people until he finally returned to his campers. There was still only two of them. He shook his head in dismay and stopped next to the EMT. "Excuse me miss, I'm their counselor. Are these two going to be all right?" Erik shoved his hands in his pockets and rocked back and forth on his heels.

"Yeah, they should be fine. Just a little more fresh oxygen and everything will be good. They aren't injured too badly so there's no need for them to be taken to the hospital." she replied.

He nodded, standing there watching patiently as the paramedic finished with his two campers. When she finally moved onto someone else, he lowered his attention from the starry midnight sky and back down to the two kids in front of him. "I haven't found James or Emalynn. I'm trying to believe they were just swept up in this chaos or tucked safely into one of the ambulances." His brown eyes darkened and the flames of the fire pit danced across his vision. "I just wanted the both of you to know."

Erik stayed quiet for a few minutes and watched as more people moved inside the building. He pressed his lips together into a fine line. Tension creased his forehead and his brows knit tightly. "Everyone is heading inside the building. We should all go in too. If James and Emalynn are here, they'll be inside with the others." He waited for the pair to get to their feet and followed inside after them.

"God damn it" was all that Julius could say at this point. Safety was all too close and if Julius truly wished it he could of ran off to it, but he could not do something like that. The other two were not behind him, they were still back where they were searching and hadn't returned. If he returned now and abandoned them he could never look at himself in the mirror again. "These damn brats" Julius muttered as he turned around and rushed back to find the others.

The smoke and fire was starting to increasing each second and Julius was finding it much harder to to even continue. To his relief Adrian was up ahead where he left him. The smoke had gotten to the boy so Julius begun to carry the boy. Alex must have been gone by now which left Aislin left to find. Julius thanked the gods that they decided to all stayed close and after recalling that Aislin went southern he immediately rushed down there.

It was getting much harder to breath and the fire was starting to spread and reach his area at a fast speed. Julius struggled forth and continued up until he found the unconscious girl up ahead. Picking her up as well, Julius continued his way back towards the camp circle as fast as he could. His lung began to burn as the smoke entered his body, but Julius refused to pass out now. He slowed his breathing in order to prevent any more smoke from entering his body and just continued to march on. He had no idea where Allen was, but he couldn't afford to yell out and waste his breath. At the moment the two he held needed to get out as fast as possible.

His steps began to become sluggish and his eyesight began to slowly blur. If he could afford to speak at the moment he would have been on a swearing streak by now. His body felt like it could pass out at any moment and carrying around two teenagers did not help his case what so ever. "Don't worry kids, I'll get you out of here and scold those idiots running this camp" Julius said silently with a small smile to the two he held. He knew they couldn't hear his words, he knew that merely saying something only put him at a disadvantage, but he needed to say this, he needed to remind himself that these kids were his responsibility and that their safety was what mattered the most in this situation.

Though Julius's consciousness was reaching its peak, the campsite was up ahead and Julius pushed forward. His mind was almost in a daze and suddenly he felt somebody suddenly was supporting him as he walked. In his weakened state it took him a while to realize what was going on, but soon enough he noticed that some firemen had arrived and taken the two teens from him and supported him back to the camp. "don't worry about me....go find the other brats" Julius said weakly. He didn't want them to waste their time on him, he wanted the other kids that were still out there to be found and brought back. If he had the strength he would have went off back to the camp by himself, but he was far to weakened to the point that it was a miracle that he was still walking.

They soon exited the blazing forest and when he could say that he was safe, Julius closed his eyes and collapsed. Paramedics took notice to him and immediately placed him on the ambulance along with the others and soon enough he was sent off to the hospital along with the others. Julius truly began to curse himself in his mind. He cursed his weakness and he cursed that he could not do anymore. With that his consciousness faded away.

With all the coolness of a northern river, Sophie waltzed away from the scene of much chaos. The adrenaline slowly began to calm down, it's flow diminishing in its erratic pumping in her blood. A crawling of pain began to work its way through her nerves from the origin on her leg and she realized that she was bleeding. With a bland expression on her face, she made her way to the infirmary and walked in.

Due to the event, it looked like the three nurses of the camp were out, and so Sophie helped herself to the medical supplies, grabbing a couple-package of crackers. Munching on one, she grabbed some antibiotic ointment, clean cloth, soap, wrapping bandages, and a small bowl of warm water. Sophie hummed to pass the time while pressing the cloth to the five inch, diagonal gash. After patching and wrapping her left calf up, Sophie tested how much it hurt to walk and was pleased to find it didn't hurt much at all. She took more bandages for the future.

    "Sophie!"

When her name was called, she looked for the source and found two taller people running towards her. "Jerry, Chase, hi." she said with a nod.

"Omigosh Sophie, what happened to your leg?" Jerry asked with alarm, bending down to inspect the treated wound, "You didn't get caught in the fire, did you?"

Sophie shook her head, "It's nothing. I fixed it, it's fine." she replied, slightly board, but then her eyes glistened, "I'm . . . surprised to see you two are still together." Chase and Jerry looked at each other with blushes on their faces. "So you used that magical potion on Jerry, after all, Chase?" she asked him with an innocent smile, "I hear it works wonders."

Jerry's voice came up short as she looked at Chase questioningly. His face was extremely red and he suddenly looked angry at Sophie, "I - I did not!"

"Chase . . . What is she talking about?"

"Oh, you didn't know?" Sophie asked, playing the shocked innocent, "He used it on a few others, actually -- interested in how it worked, y'know?"

"Sophie!" Chase barked, rage-mode on the brink. He was about to swing his fist and Sophie was ready to dodge -- SLAP.

    "I hate you, Chase Carter."

Ten minutes later, Sophie sat on a log with Chase near her cabin. "She was cheating on you anyway," Sophie said, sounding comforting, "You guys were no good for each other."

    "I guess . . ."

"It'll be alright, Chase." Sophie cooed, "At least she's not a killer like Alexandra Brians." Chased looked at her with surprise, as he recognized the name, "Mmhm, I know. Alexandra went through the whole scorned-lover phase, ran over her ex-girlfriend for cheating on her. Ahaha. She's so stupid -- but don't tell anyone." she said, and Chase slowly nodded, but there was that telling-glint in his eyes that Sophie could appreciate.

Back in her cabin, in her bunk, Sophie rested her leg, working on her little black notebook with a satisfied smile.

James huffed and wheezed as tree after tree seemed to spontaneous combust, of course they weren't just sporadically catching aflame, but the fire was spreading pretty damn quickly. Just when he and his love muffin had finally gotten some alone time. Nature decided to work even more so against him by ruining their private little stroll, and on top of that, make him run! He clutched his heart as she grabbed his hand, he had not time to think on if this was because she was scared and liked him, or if it was because as he huffed and chugged along, she was kind of...leaving him behind. Nah, she really wanted to save him, which meant she liked him. Or she didn't want a dead carcass on her conscious. As he rushed pass tree after flaming tree, he thought of her sweet conscious. It was so clear, so goal driven, his little ice queen was totally focused with her eye on the prize. He admired that about her. And her piano skills were top notch too. He wondered if she could give him a lesson sometime.

Oh, well that was odd, he was a bit rotund, but he had a good gauge on when his body would need to take a quick snack boost. Was the air suddenly getting hotter, or was it the proximity of the girl that held his arm and frantically tried to get them to safety? For her sake, for her, he would up his process and ignore the smokey hot air that filled his lungs. But sweet Jesus, it's seemed like they were lost or something, not matter how long they traveled in which direction, they seemed to not be able to find the area in the West Forest that they were once a small group, nor the camp circle, he didn't think he was that bad with directions, but the fire was making it it hard to see, on top of that, smoke and burning branches covered the space inbetween the fire, and it's not like he was able to see through that, even with his glasses.

His throat was getting dryer by the second, he wanted to say something, anything that would get them out of this situation, a loud cry for help, or maybe crouching down to the ground. But a fire could get pretty loud when there was a lot of fuel around, and getting on the dirty forest floor was unappealing and would probably do little good since grass was also fuel for the fire, especially when the tree were gone. He didn't want to be in here when the tree were gone. He tried to speed up with his beloved, but she was a fast little thing. Wow, look at those legs. Like a freaking gazelle or something, maybe she excerised or participated in track. He would have to note to ask her that in their SHARED CABIN! Fire burned all around him and he was too busy swooning to notice. Well, notice a hundred percent. He pushed his glasses back onto the bridge of his nose, it would do no good to lose them here, after all, he only had one spare, and his parents wouldn't like the thought of coming all the way out here to bring him a spare from home in the event that he lost or broke both. He couldn't take it anymore, she would have to go on without him, hopefully she would meet no one, so she'd be alone forever, since he was clearly going to burn up here. He smiled at the thought and gently pried his arm from her grip and motioned for her to keep going, and to his horror and dismay, she collapsed. And he too went out like a light.

Whiteness, almost as blinding as the fires that were last scene in his mind surrounded him. He heard the gentle beeping of a heart monitor beside him, and a cool looking oxygen mask covering his face. He found he could move his limbs and silently thanked good. If they had him here, in this hospital safely, then surely his fainted bride was somewhere safe in here too. He could sleep off the fatigue he felt in peace now.

THERE'S a STIRRING INSIDE of ME.

    Are you all right?

Pierce heard the voice before she saw the body it went to. It was familiar, yet distant at the same time. Whomever it was sounded concerned. She felt him close to her, but not too close. Pierce cocked her head to the right and peered up through the veil of brown hair that covered her face. She looked up at him with weary eyes and blinked twice before her brain processed whom it was. Oh, her voice was gravelly and hoarse. She could barely speak. Hi Allen, she finally said, after a pause. Pierce lifted her head up; her neck was sore. She rubbed the back of it awkwardly. Tears were beginning to slow and she wiped her face on the cuff of the sweater, smearing salty water and crusted viscous crimson across her right cheek. The bleeding was finally coming to a stop as well. I'm... I'm all right. she finally replied.

Allen placed his hands on her shoulders to try and gently help her up. We should move, everyone's going in there. She stared up at him blankly. What did he say? Her eyes slowly shifted around the circle and saw people moving somewhere. Where were they going? She felt her body raising and her legs extending. Oh. She was on her feet now. Her legs trembled and she wasn't sure if she could even stand. She was practically swimming in Tucker's sweater and had to grab Allen's arm for support.

Her heart thumped loudly in her chest and she stood there clinging to him for a moment as she tried to get her shaking legs under control. When they relatively stopped feeling like Jello, she let her hands slid down the length of his arm and balled them into fists, shoving them into the front pockets of her shorts after pulling the sleeves up to her elbows. S-sorry, she muttered softly. Her cheeks burned red and the pounding echoed in her ears. Pierce took slow careful steps forward in the direction everyone else was going. She stared down at her dirt covered black shoes, not wishing to trip over something as they neared the loft.

U-um, Allen... she glanced up at him and then back down at her feet. Hair covered her face and she cleared her throat uncomfortably. She needed to spit. Her mouth tasted nasty. Spitting wasn't girly, and definitely not something you did in front of other people. Pierce gnawed on her bottom lip. Er... N-never mind. she stated plainly. Pierce yawned and stood in silence as they merged with the rest of the crowd of campers and counselors that were now inside the building. Why is he talking to me?

Noëlle! I'm so happy you're alright . . . Are you okay? Where are your cabin mates? Your counselor? You're not hurt anywhere, are you?

Tears were falling down her cheeks and hanging from her chin, but she wasn't really thinking about them, or how filthy Bryan's shirt was getting. Her throat was burning and her legs were beginning to feel something like jello. She would definitely be sore in the morning. She hadn't noticed it before, but a spot behind her ear hurt -- a lot. Her thighs were lightly scraped, too, and stung with the heat of the nearby campfire. It was suffocating, and she was glad when Bryan moved them to a bench and began to tend to her.

Timidly, after too long a time had passed, she shook her head back and forth, knowing it wasn't a proper response to everything he had asked but not having the energy or the mind to elaborate. Memories of the initial flame, Alice's face and the bear's roars kept replaying in her head over and over and over again, silently but vividly, like a high quality GIF. Her fingers were shaking uncontrollably from guilt and some form of terror, but her brain was already cooking up some lies to tell -- like Alice had started the fire, or she didn't know what had happened -- or didn't remember.

Her eyes scanned the area, but Alice was no where to be seen. The guilt hurt and nearly drove her, again, to run back into the forest but ... Instead, she stood with Bryan and began the walk to the loft. Students were crying and chatting around them and it made her nauseous. Ambulances were rushing off and pouring in, and various shouts from the fire fighters alerted her that the fire had been put out but kids were still trapped.

The tears stopped and Noëlle chewed nervously on her bottom lip, tear-glazed eyes suddenly very wide and alert.

She had never seen the loft so full before. All chairs, couches and even some tables were occupied. Students sat around on the floor drinking water, wrapped up in blankets and clutching pillows. Those who weren't an emotional wreck were buzzing with excitement or playing the apathy card. An average-height camp leader with a muscular build, short black hair, and bronze skin stood up against a lifeless fireplace, fists clenched at his sides. As Bryan and Noëlle entered, he started speaking in a loud, gruff voice.

    Where was Kevin?

QUIET! His voice was powerful, and nearly sent Noëlle back into tears. Instead, she dug her nails into the sweaty palms of her hands. The room hushed and a couple of dramatic students yelped in surprise, busting out into terribly inappropriate giggles after. The man before them shot them a cold look before continuing. ...PRESENTLY, A HANDFUL OF YOUR PEERS ARE EITHER MISSING, HOSPITALIZED, OR DEAD. AN ESTIMATED 46% OF THE FOREST HAS BEEN COMPLETELY DESTROYED, AND THE DEEPER GROUNDS OF THE CAMP ARE CRAWLING WITH VIOLENT FOREST BEASTS. THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE IS STILL UNKNOWN.

    Eek, this guy.

DUE TO THESE HORRIFIC EVENTS, WE WILL BE SENDING YOU HOME EARLY. TOMORROW MORNING, PLEASE BE AT THE MAIN ROAD AND READY TO LEAVE CAMP. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU ALL STAY TOGETHER AND THAT YOU COUNSELORS KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON YOUR GROUP. FOR THE REMAINDER OF YOUR STAY, GROUPS WILL BE MERGED. GROUP A, B, C, D, AND E WILL BECOME GROUP 1. GROUPS F, G, H, I...

Noëlle stopped paying attention for a moment and tenderly rested her head on Bryan's shoulder, glad that she would not have to be away from him. The leader, who's name she now vaguely remembered to be Garth, informed them that they would be moving their things from the smaller cabins to the larger ones reserved for the leaders.

As the last few ambulances left with any injured campers, Alex retreated into his thoughts. A forest fire, on day two. That provided him quite the shock for the day. There were a few things going on in his head. Ranging from what caused the fire to what they were going to do next. As he looked up, he noticed the others heading inside a building. It didn't take much for him to figure that that's where he was suppose to be at, so that's where he went.
Things were quite noisy inside, which was understandable. Everyone inside had something on their mind that they wanted to say. Whether it be about the fire or just some concerns that they had.
    QUIET!
Kevin's voice cut through the noise like a knife, effectively ended it. The tone his voice had was a complete change from what he was used to. What was normally cheerful and filled with energy was now stern and serious. His deliverance of bad new and the current situation they were in only added to the mood that was in the air.

He certainly wasn't expecting that. Aside from the early release, they were clumping together most cabins into groups. A decision like that only proved the dire situation that they were in.
